Twenty years after the second Dragon Rebellion the King falls ill. Some would say there is more to his ailment than simple fate, and the Ten Kingdoms point hooves at one another, some hoping to bring justice, others wishing to gain power. All eyes are on Celestia as her choice of heir to the throne will determine the state of Equestria during the next generation. Meanwhile, in the East, an exiled supporter of dragons must gather her strength, and that of an army, to take the Throne and decree a new age of equality. Up North, however, equality is not of concern. No, a greater power lurks beyond the Crystal Wall. Something is returning.
