Love is for the weak

The chagelings were banished from equestria after the wedding incident, well most of ponies believed that. Some unlucky changelings landed right in different parts of equestria, some in ponyville, other ones in the desert, everyone of those were inmediatly reported to the royal guard, but a few lucky or unlucky ones depending on how you see them, landed on the Everfree forest.

769 was one those changlings that crashed on the Everfree forest, he knew about that place, every time he took the form of a pony he heard rumors about that place, like animals taking care of themselves or the strange animal and plants that the forest had, it was mostly silly for the changelings, they all lived on a harsh land, so they only thought that ponies were just cowards.

I dont see any Changeling in here thought 769 taking a look at his surroundings Where am i anyway?, this doesnt look like the badlands or the hive, look at th right trees, at thee left more trees, up some black clouds and down just dirt. The changling just did what his instict told him, go forward in straight line.

Maybe this is the Everfree forest, i heard about it... *howls*, 769 smiled, now this just got interesting.

"Stay away from me, you damn timberwolf" 769 spotted a royal guard fighting with awolf-like creature made of wood, the guard was injured and near him was a dead pony, a mare with the same armor as the guard "you killed my wife, now you gonna pay."

interesting, that guard is going to die eventually with those wounds but he kepps fighting... Why? 769 asked himselft while spectating the fight. The guard attacked the wolf with his spear, the wolf barely got hit by it, then the wolf jumped over the guard to attack him from behind, the guard saw it coming and used his hind legs to gave the wolf a strong buch on its snout, the wolf howl in pain and turned itselft on a lot of sticks.

"Sorry babe, but i need to sleep" the guard caressed the belly of the dead mare with his hoof "sorry kids, daddy is late."

The changeling approached the now dying guard "why you keep fighting?" no response, the changeling spotted green smoke leaving from the guard whats this?, the smoke went directly to the changelings nose, the changeling twitched and fell on the ground What in the name of the Queen was that?, the changeling never experienced something like that well this is not love, love is pink smoke, but this green smoke what is it?.

The sticks on the ground started to move on their own, slowly putting themselves together to revive the timberwolf, the timberwolf looked at the changeling, 769 noticed the creature looking at him doing nothing.

"Mister wolf?" 769 talked to the timberwolf, the wolf kept loking at the changeling, timberwolf are smart and this one knows that 769 is not a pony, the changeling kept glaring at the timberwolf, the timberwolf smelled him and saliva started tocome out of its mouth Well shit, 769 turned around and started to trot just in a random direction.

769 kept trotting in the same direction until crashed with a tree while looking back at the timberwolf behind him, the vision of 769 was blurry, he heard odd noises coming from behind him.

"Stay away you monster" A voice of a mare with a strange thing that makes loud noises, this noises scared the timberwolf that was trying to eat 769, 769 smiled, this mare saved him from being wolf snack, somehow his changeling pride will not let him go until he repay the mare, but now is time to rest... 769 fainted.

Flashback

"You know 769, i heard about a myth that long time ago our ancestors used to eat a strange green smoke" another changeling that was in the army said to 769 while the Queen was telling them about the invasion plan.

"I heard about it, blue smoke is sadness, pink smoke is love, yellow is happiness, but green?, just the Queen can eat that... right? 769 was now interested on whatever his partner in arms was saying.

Actually no, the green smoke that the Queen eats is a more concentrated version of the pink smoke that we eat, in short words it means that she needs more love than the average changeling.

And our hive isnt starving of love, she is eating all of it.... am i right? 769 started to understand why the invasion to equestria, the Queen doesnt care about her hive, she just want to secure a food soure.

And another last tip 769, if you get the chance to eat dark green smoke dont fool yourselft, is not the concentrated love, is pure HATE!

Flashback End

769 woke up in a bedroom, not sure where he was, he got up on his hooves and stared to wander around the house, he heard somepony humming a song that he never heard before, it was coming from downstairs. He walked down the stairs and tried to find the pony who was humming the song, it was coming from the kitchen accompained by a delicious smell of food.

"I wonder if the changeling is going to eat this food i made for him?" The Unicorn was moving a frying pan with her magic, 769 was surprised, a good looking mare cooking for him without freaking out, Did i died? is this changeling heaven? thought 769.

The mare looked at 769, the eyes of the changeling widened and he rushed to hide behind the couch of the living room.

"Awww you cute little thing, relax i dont bite" The Mare let the frying pan on the table, and turned off the oven. The mare teleported herselft behind the shivering changeling, the changeling tried to use magic to protect himselft from the unicorn.

The changeling got on his hooves and pointed his horn at the mare, the horn started to glow with the average green magic that the changelings use, suddenly the glow came back to the base of the horn, the changeling fell on the floor screaming in pain and feeling like his brain was melting.

Spell backfired... AGAIN?! thought the changeling still trying to get on his hooves, Is like the 4th time since i joined the changeling army

"Are you alright little changeling?" The mare patted the head of 769, the changeling did an annoyed sigh and let the mare do whatever she wanted to him.

"Why?"

"hmm?... why what mister changeling?"

"Why did you save me?, to turn me to the royal guard and be tortured?!"

"Nothing like that, i am just kind of interested in investigating your species" The mare blushed a little while saying it.

Now the changeling was puzzled, why an unicorn is researching changelings?, a loud noise came from the belly of the changeling, hes cheeks turned green and he looked at the food that was on top of the table, it made him salivate a little.

The changeling ignored the whole nonsense that the mare was saying, his eyes were locked on the delicious food that the mare was cooking, he couldnt take it anymore, slowly he approached to the table still looking at the mare, and when the mare got distracted he started to eat the food like a wild animal. The mare noticed the behavior of the changeling and for her it was pretty interesting.

"I thought that you changelings were irrational love eaters, why are you eating ordinary food?"

"first... thats racist, and second i am hungry"

"My name is Garnet, i am an unicorn as you already noticed, whats your name?"

"Drone #769, soldier of the Hive of Queen Chrysalis"
