Lord Darkus began looking around in his dark realm feeling agitated. Not only has the upstart known to him as Lord Elemental and his host figured out how to unleash their full power, which allowed them to reseal the Shadow Gates that his brother/uncle Lord Eternis had made many eons ago, they've now have begun to use that power to seal of the other shadow gates in all the other universes. As he had been contemplating on how to finally be free to spread his darkness his thoughts began to go to one universe in particular that had caught his interest, one which the humans on Earth as well as within the Red Rock nation have called My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, where it was the only one that seemed to cause Lord Elemental to lose all of his Elemental powers save Aura and the fact that he and his host have been unable to go to the other alternate versions of said universe. That’s when he came with a plan, one of which he is certain will allow him to achieve his goal to plunge everything into eternal darkness.
“Dark Chronos,” with the mention of his name a figure appeared before Lord Darkus, with the only visible sign that he was there being the glowing yellow eyes that all Shadows possessed, “Yes my lord?”
“I have a plan that can thwart Lord Elemental from being able to stop me from unleashing darkness to the multiverses.”
Dark Chronos showed no signs of surprise or other emotions that all other creatures (including Shadows) possessed, but instead simply nodded, “And what have you come up with?”
Lord Darkus smiled as he looked upon his Champion. “I have come to the revelation that I might be able to thwart Lord Elemental’s attempts at stopping us from fully releasing from our realm. Do you know of the universe that the humans call My Little Pony?”
Dark Chronos growled at this, “Yes. It is possibly the only universe that we are unable to break the seal from this side. What is it that you’re implying?”
“As you may recall, Lord Elemental had lost all of his powers, except aura, when he and his host had first entered one variation of that universe. I have no doubt that they will be unable to enter into any of the other variations without the same event happening. Whatever caused this is likely to be present in those variations.”
“Are you implying that we create one to achieve our goal?”
Lord Darkus looks over at Dark Chronos. “Yes. I will create one by changing certain events in that universe which will contain my influence, but will not be easily identified when Lord Elemental’s warriors start to investigate this new universe. I’ll even take a human soldier from his universe as a means to secure a link so as you and the others are not forced to take on those pathetic pony forms. Though complications will arise when doing so but I am confident that you will take care of it.”
Dark Chronos nods, “Very well. What do you need us to do?”
“Oh I think I’ll do this myself, though I will take you with me. I will just change a few events in that universe’s history to where I will have some influence. Of course there may be someone already writing this down in that one universe that Lord Eternis has made sure that no one is able to enter that is completely normal, least to those mortals that live in it. We will see if this plan works but I have sent Anex to deal with another problem that I have found within one of the alternate versions of this MLP universe.”
“And what is it?”
“It would appear that Anex has found one variation that has a pony variant of Silver Scorpion who goes by the name Silver Hooves. But I know that the true name of this individual is Carlon Scorpus, much like all the other variants that we have found. If Anex is able to kill him, then all the others will follow suit and we will not have them interfering with us.”
“And what will you do?”
Lord Darkus gave him a smile that would terrify every living soul that saw it, “Why I am going to spread my influence,” With that Lord Darkus created a clone of himself, which had no power except to spread his dark influence into the hearts of mortals and immortals that showed signs of hatred or other dark emotions to use to his advantage. He then created a portal that will go to the new universe that he will make by his influence.
“Let’s go,” With that the clone and Dark Chronos went through the dark portal that will take them to their desired destination. “Aha ha ha ha, soon I will be free and this time Lord Elemental will be powerless to stop me.”
The two entered into the Halo portion of the universe that they were going to create. While looking over at the carnage being brought in his ethereal form, Lord Darkus spots an ODST with the cobalt color scheme trying to flank around the edge of the sky bridge between the two buildings that he and his firing squad were trying to escort civilians through while under heavy fire from the covenant. This gave Lord Darkus an idea.
“Dark Chronos stay here, I’m going to have some fun.”
He proceeded to one of the elites and spoke to it in its mind, “listen to me. See that human over there, I want you to kick him off the side of the building.” The Sangheili proceeded to do what it was told without even realizing that it had been ordered to do it or knew why and Lord Darkus watched in amusement as the elite snuck up on the human soldier and kicked him off the edge and continued to watch as the fallen soldier's comrades began tearing into the fool with a maelstrom of bullets as they’re rage focused on the sangheili. Lord Darkus then felt the energies he knew involved the creation of a wormhole that has most likely taken the fallen soldier into the alternate universe he plans to exploit.
“Now all there needs to be done is to go and make my move on those whom will serve an important role whether they realize it or not.” With that he made another dark portal with which he and Dark Chronos walked through.
Lord Darkus and Dark Chronos exited the portal which brought them just outside a cave entrance.
“I presume this must be the cave that Tirek has been hiding while his brother went out to explore the land.” He turned to Dark Chronos, “we will need to keep our identities a secret. No need to have them know who we are.” With that both Lord Darkus and Dark Chronos shifted forms to where they appeared as shrouded figures.
As they entered they soon found the demon centaur examining something of interest. “I assume you are Tirek?”
Tirek turn in surprise and gave a snarl, “who are you? I have never seen creatures like you before.”
Lord Darkus gave a chuckle, “why my good centaur, I am here to bestow you a gift. You’re looking to enslave these ponies that inhabit these land am I correct?”
Tirek became suspicious and carefully asked, “what can you do that will grant me this power? For all I know you might be someone whom is trying to fool me into letting my guard down. My brother and I both have the power to do what we want.”
Lord Darkus merely chuckled again, “are you sure. As far as I’m aware you need to obtain a power that will keep you from being affected by these creatures, for your brother has already decided against taking control of them.”
Tirek then growled at the statement, “How dare you talk such nonsense about my brother. He would never side with those creatures.”
“I am well aware that he has done this but I can offer you something more. Look at my palm.” Lord Darkus then brought out his palm and a black sphere appeared, emanating a dark force that drew Tirek’s attention.
“What sort of magic is this? This is stronger that what I have ever done with my own magic alone,” Tirek looked at the robed figure, “I am intrigued. I wish to incorporate this power you have.”
“Ah but this is only a fraction of the power that I possess. However I can grant you this seed in exchange that you do a task for me.”
Tirek turned to him with newfound interest, “and what will that be?”
“In due time, but right now I will bestow this power unto you.” With that Lord Darkus place the sphere onto Tirek’s chest and watch with satisfaction that a dark film began to cover the centaur’s entire body.
“How do you feel?”
Tirek looked over at his form feeling a tremendous power that continued to grow. “I feel amazing, though I think I might not have gotten as much power as I might have hoped.”
Lord Darkus smiled, “well I have only given you only a tiny fraction of my power so that your own power can be brought forth. What I have given you is the ability to siphon the aura from other magically adept beings, therefore increasing your own power. Along with this you will not be swayed by things such as kindness or friendship.”
Tirek gave his own smile, “I am glad that I have met you. What should I call you?”
“I would prefer not to mention my name. Also this spell will make you forget about our meeting together. This is done so others may not know where you’ve obtained this power from, but do not worry. The spell will let you know what is that you will need to do when your own quest has been completed.”
Tirek nodded at this, “I would assume there are those whom you do not want to know about this. It seems to me that you have your own share of enemies.”
“It would seem that we are in agreement. I will take my leave now.” And with that both Lord Darkus and Dark Chronos left the cave with Tirek marveling in his newfound power.
“It would seem that he accepted our offer rather quickly.”
Lord Darkus gave a dark smile, “the fool, doesn’t realize that he is merely a pawn for my plans. And it would appear that we have arrived before his brother returned. Now to go meet with Sombra,” with that he created another portal which he and Dark Chronos walked through.
They appeared somewhere in the cold northern region of Equestria. Lord Darkus looked around until he spotted the one he had been searching for.
“Lord Darkus, wouldn't it be enough to just have one to harvest their shadow instead of more?” Dark Chronos inquired.
“Ah but you must understand, in order to break the seal a great amount of dark energy must be acquired if we are to break the seal made by Lord Eternis. For this reason I will choose three important figures that will serve this purpose. I am well aware of their greatest weaknesses and will exploit them to fit our needs.”
“I see, but how do you plan on finding Sombra. He will not be easy to tract than the two that you have chosen to harvest.”
Lord Darkus merely laughed, “Oh I plan on bringing him to us,” after saying this they see a stallion trotting up to them from the snow mound they were standing on.
“Who are you,” Sombra asked. Lord Darkus noted that he appeared to be a normal unicorn pony with grey fur and black mane.
“I am the one who will bestow you with a powerful gift.”
“I don’t know who you are but I don’t trust you. Whatever this gift is that you’re speaking of cannot be good.”
“Then you should not have come to me,” Lord Darkus smiled as he sent dark tendrils out to grab the unicorn as he tried to leave, “honestly, I could care less if you cooperated with me or not. You will be given this gift whether you want it or not.”
“Wh... what are you doing,” Sombra asked as Lord Darkus began to walk up to him with a dark sphere floating in his palm.
“This is the gift that I am going to give you,” Lord Darkus smiled, leaving Sombra to whimper in fear. “And the best part, you will not remember any of this.” And with that he placed the sphere onto Sombra’s form and watched in amusement as he began to scream as his body tried in vain to fight the dark power flooding through his body, transforming it into what ponies will know to fear.
“Our job is done, now for the last one.”
He and Dark Chronos passed through another dark portal which will take them to their last victim, Princess Luna.
