Chapters Twilight Sparkle Ace Attorney Case 1 Turnabout Abduction
Princess Luna began to raise her moon into the sky as Twilight Sparkle enjoyed the cool breeze from outside. Her day had been simply wonderful. She got a new shipment of books, was invited to a Canterlot ball party, and she had been praised by Princess Celestial for her dedication to her studies. It felt as though nothing at all could go wrong until her number one assistant came running into the balcony panting.
"I...huff...got...huff...an emergency..huff...letter from the Princess Two!" He said attempting to catch his breath.
"Alright Spike calm down I'm sure it's nothing to be..." She stopped herself as she skimmed the letter. Her heart jumped out of her chest. "Pinkie Pie is being charged with murder. It is thought that she is the only one who could have committed this atrocious crime. Phoenix Wright, unfortunately, was too busy with a case of his own in his world. Twilight Sparkle, you are the only one with prior experience on this matter. You have been chosen to be her defense attorney. Please go to the detention center within 30 minutes of reading this. As for evidence, I have asked the prosecution to aid you in your endeavors. Best of luck." ( Celestia's Letter added to court record)
Twilight looked downward, watching her tear hit the floor.
"This can't be happening...not again..." she mumbled softly in a depressed tone. "No! This won't happen! Come Spike! Lets crack this case!
"Yeah!" Cheered spike.
[ 7:20 Ponyville Detention Center ]
"Huh? Where is Pinkie?" She wondered aloud looking through the bulletproof glass only to see a lone guard blocking the door to the room.
"Pinkamena Diane Pie is in questioning, visitor." Said the lone guard. "Check back in 10 minutes or so."
"Yes sir." Twilight agreed obediently. Since Pinkie was in questioning she figured that she should check out the crime scene before coming back.
[ 7:25 Sugar cube Corner - Outside ]
Police ponies and royal guards littered the area around sugar cube corner. It was covered in yellow tape setting apart the usually cheery and sweet look of the place.
"Eh? What are you doing here, doll?" Said a voice behind Twilight. She turned, seeing a tall brown stallion with a band aid on his left check. He wore a green, large coat sandal a scruffy tie.
"Um...We're Pinkie's defense team." Spike said after Twilight didn't answer. She had blank look on her face. She was hoping she'd never have to go through losing a friend again...
"Er, pal? Are you okay? You seem...stressed?" The concerned detective asked.
"Um, yes I'm fine we're zone Pinkie Pie's lawyers. We would like entrance into the crimes scene." Twilight explained.
"Well why didn't you say so earlier? Follow me."
[ 7:29 Sugarcube Corner Kitchen ]
"Detective Horseshoe. I gave you very specific orders not to let anyone at a 'll into the crime scene. Look forward to salary evaluation next week." Said a voice coming seemingly out of nowhere.
A dark gray coated pony revealed himself his mane was dark blue with purple tips at the end. His hair was reminiscent of Vinyl Scratch as it was spiked to no end. His tail was oddly neatly groomed. He had a menacing look on his face, one eye covered by a monocol. He wore a black suit with ruffles around the chest area.
"Dark Side.," Twilight said recognizing him.
"Holy sh-" Dark Side almost cursed before Detective Horseshoes covered his mouth.
"They're the defense team, Celestia told you to help remember?"
"Damn. Well," Dark Side started, "I suggest you not investigate now. Visiting hours at the detention center will be over in 8 minutes. Meh heh heh. The most I can do is give you is evidence."

"There. Now go you have, what? 5 minutes at most?"
"Quick Spike! We'll worry about crime scene information later!" Twilight said forcing Twilight onto her back as she sped toward the detention center.
"She doesn't stand a chance Horseshoe."
"How can you be so sure?
"Heh heh. You'll see."
[ Ponyville Detention Center 7:39 ]
Twilight ran in huffing and puffing as Pinkie looked at her beyond the glass.
"Twilight?! Guess what? They found somepony who couldn't move at Sugarcube Corner so they brought me here to throw me something called a pity party! " Pinkie said excitedly.
"Pinkie this is serious. I need to know what happened there."
" Okee Dokey! It was around 11:30 when I heard a scream from the kitchen..." She started.
"Sorry. Visiting hours are now over." A guard said grabbing Pinkie.
"What? Wait!" She protested. They ignored her and took Pinkie away.
"What now Twilight?"
"I don't know enough about the case. We'll have to get the information in court tomorrow!"
( Is it just a coincidence that I know this little? What is going on here? It's like I know so little and everyone else knows more than me? Is that darn prosecutor pulling strings? If he is, we'll settle this in court! Don't worry Pinkie!)

I'm still working on the next chapter to my other story but this idea popped into my head so I wrote this so I wouldn't forget the idea. Next chapter testimonies will come into play. If you play Ace Attorney you know what zone I'm talking about.

"Please meet me at Sugarcube Corner tonight at 11:30 Sharp. We have important matters to discuss, particularly about your son."

*SLAM*
"Court is now in session for the trial of Pinkamena Diane Pie. Defense are you prepared?" The judge asked. Luckily the judge from Phonix's world wasn't busy.
"Er, yes your honor." She said, with tension in her voice. Her first trial and so much was already on the line.
"Proscecution are you ready?" The judge asked, facing the Dark manned pony on the opposite end of the courtroom.
"Fool. If I was not ready, do you think I would be here? I'm insulted you would imply that I, Dark Eclipse Side, would stand upon the goddess of law unprepared."
"!!! Sorry Proscecutor Dark." The judge said a bit too sincerely."
"Wow, Twilight he has the judge eating out of his hands..." Spike said worried.
"You haven't changed at all Dark Side." Twilight said with a Dark look on her face.
"Keh heh heh," Dark Side laughed. "Why change what is already perfect?"
"Your far from perfect. Your despicable. To think you'd try to banish a girl in love with you?!" She yelled tears forming in her eyes.
"She doesn't love me, for one. She's just a little filly with a crush. Nothing more than that. There is nothing to discuss. I will be calling my first witness."
"Wait actually that is my j-" The judge started before being interrupted by piercing sound coming from Dark Side's horn.
"The prosecution calls Detective Horseshoe to the stand."
Minutes later the same detective Twilight met yesterday stood before her, now an enemy instead of ally.
"Screw the name and occupation. Testify and get it over with. Tell us why Pinkie IS the murderer, beyond a shadow of a doubt." Dark Side commanded him confidently.
"Yes sir!"
---Reason for Suspicion---
At the crime scene, there were two Sharp objects.
"Well then Twilight any "Contradictions"?" Dark Side said mockingly, knowing nothing contradicted the evidence.
"Your Honor! Dark Side fed Detective Horseshoe his words!" Twilight shouted accusingly.
"Unless you have evidence to prove your accusation, you Wil be forced to withdraw and make due with cross examining the witness."
"Yes, your honor..." She said sadly but obediently.
---Reason for Suspicion---
"OBJECTION!" Twilight shouted, her vocal cords violently vibrating, her pulse racing. "This may not be defining evidence, but I believe it is very well worth mentioning. If you will look closely, the knife has blood on both sides, but not at the tip."
"What do you think we're blind? So what?" Dark Side said, thinking this was just a ruse to buy time.
"Actually, it contradicts his whole testimony." She said with a confident smile.
"Me. Sparkle, please elaborate."
"Kindly. If you'll recall Detective Horseshoe's testimony, he stated the victim was stabbed. But not one drop of blood is on the tip. Therefore, he was more than likely slashed .
"Horseshoe! How did the police team overlook this?!" Dark Side asked Horseshoe angrily.
"I don't know sir, I-"
"Look forward to next month's pay. And the rest of the police squadron too!" He said making that piercing notice with his horn again.
"Urk..."
"So Ms. Sparkle, does this significantly change any factors?" The judge questioned Twilight.
"Actually, your honor, it changes everything."
"Okay," the Judge said nodding. " What exactly does it change?"
"It changes the murderer, your honor."
"What?!" Dark Side exclaimed.
"Let me explain for people like Dark Side who haven't caught up yet-" Twilight started.
"Ms. Sparkle I will not allow slander of the witness. Now continue, without public insults to the prosecutor."
"Yes sir. You see your honor, an earth pony can only hold a knife with their two front hooves. And, as you could imagine it'd be very difficult to make a slashing motion while holding the knife like that. In conclusion, the killer was not an earth pony!" Twilight concluded.
"Go Twilight!" Spike cheered. "Good hustle Pinkie's in the clear now!"
"OBJECTION!"
"Now who was that?" The judge asked.
"It was.Me of course baldy." Dark Side said shrugging his front hooves and shaking his head. " Now. What the defense is attempting to assert here is that Ms. Pie couldn't hold the knife in a manner to where she could murder someone. Well, I object." Dark said stated calmly.
"What? Twilight just proved she couldn't have done it." Spike said, growing angry at the dark manned prosecutor.
"Actually, what she asserted made it more likely ." Dark Side said, slamming the desk with his front hooves.
"How?" The judge asked surprised.
"Well Pinkie's footprints were on the knife in question-"
"HOLD IT!" Began Twilight. "She works there. "It's only natural her hoof prints where on the knife."
"OBJECTION! But...! These hoof prints are on very peculiar locations....the sides."
Everyone in court flinched backwards, surprised at this development as the jury began to mumble and conversation about the case.
"Does that mean she did it?" A blue pony with a white mane asked another.
"That prosecutor knew this and kept quiet?!" Exclaimed another Pegasus pony, obviously annoyed by Dark Side's arrogance and his activities of withholding evidence.
"Mommy is the purple pony the bad pony?"
"Wrong colors kid. Your looking for gray." Twilight thought with annoyed expression on her face.
"Prosecutor Dark! Does this mean you withheld important information?!" The judge shouted surprised.
"Not exactly. Honestly I thought this trail wasn't going to last 10 minutes so I was going to keep quiet for the sake of getting everyone home early." Dark Side fired back.
"Oh well that was thoughtful." The judge said, a bit endearingly.
"Yeah sir! Thanks for thinking about us!" Horseshoes said thanking his consideration.
"It is to be expected. I am the perfect prosecutor after all." He said smugly smiling and taking a how
"Does anyone at all care that he just withheld important information from the court?!l Twilight thought, letting out a grunt of annoyance.
"Well, I see no more reason for doubt. The defense has not produced evidence liable brought to prove the prosecution's case wrong. I hereby pronounce Pinkamena Diane Pie..."
OBJECTION!
"What-"
"The-"
"Hell?! Do you ponies know what hello is?" The judge finished.
"Hi Twilight. Long time no see. Well, not that long, but you know." Said the voice of everyone's familiar blue clad, spiky haired defense attorney.
"Phoenix!" Twilight cried out, lunging to hug him.
"Why the hell are you here?!" Dark Side asked, angry at how victory was just in his grasp.
"I have evidence that Pinkie's not the murderer!" Phoenix shouted pointing at Dark Side.
"Celestia Damn it." Dark Side said, slamming his head on the desk.

Twilight Sparkle Ace Attorney Case 1 Turnabout Abduction
"Well Twilight, it sure has been awhile. I heard from a unicorn over the phone that you were in another pinch. I'm here to help you prove Pinkie Pie innocent." He said pointing his finger at Dark Side. Dark Side simply shrugged his shoulders.
"Do as you please. This case is already done. We left no evidence unaccounted for."
"OBJECTION! There is one piece of evidence that you had taken a closer look at. Twilight? Remember the butcher knife Pinkie supposedly used to murder the victim? Take a closer look at the handle of the knife."
"? The handle?" She asked herself, inspecting it. On the handle were inscribed three letters "SGC".
"Dark Side."
"What do you want you can't possibly be still trying to disprove my theory." He said smugly combing his hair back, levitating a comb back and forth.
"Actually, I can." She said with a voice full of confidence. She felt that, at this point it was make it or break it. She wasn't sure what exactly "SGC" meant, but it was her only lead. "If you would, take a look at the handle of the knife."
"That's some pretty penmanship." He said complimenting the pony who made it's ability to craft letters and various designs. "Hmmm... SGC? Is that some kind of pony word or something?"
"Er, no your honor, it seems to stand for initials."
"Wait! You can't be implying that-" Horseshoe said, piecing things together.
"She is." Phoenix said boldly. "This knife may very well not even belong to the defendant."
"Hmm... Well, this is a sudden turn of events. It seems that this knife may very well not even be the defendant's, meaning it would be very hard to gain access to it. Well I may be able to announce my ver-"
"OBJECTION!" Dark Side objected. The whole court went silent. "You just sealed your fate Twilight Sparkle."
"What are you talking about, you surely can't talk your way out of this one, prosecutor!" Phoenix said, not knowing his name.
"Actually, I can. Thanks to you the judge will finally be able to declare "guilty"!"
The crowd in the stands went wild unbeknownst to what Dark Side was about to reveal to the court.
"That dirty prosecutor can't crawl his way out!"
"Go get em purple pony and blue weirdo!"
"Mommy, I don't like the new blue guy."
"OBJECTION! Enough chit chat, as I was saying Twilight, you dug your own grave. "SGC" can only mean one thing.
"No way!" Phoenix exclaimed with his trademark surprised expression.
"No!!!" Twilight shrieked
"Horseshoe! You know where I'm going with this! Testify as to how this proves that the defendant, or more accurately the murderer, that she is in fact, the killer." He barked a Horseshoe. He flinched backwards in shock.
"Yes sir!" He exclaimed saluting as he did so.
"That pony reminds me of someone Twilight." Phoenix told Twilight, referring to Horseshoe.
"That'll have to wait Phoenix!"
Witness Testimony (Allegro)
---Reason for Suspicion PT.2---
Well, Like Dark Side just said,
"Well, Ms. Sparkle you may begin your cross examination." The judge said.
"Yes your honor."
Cross Examination (Allegro)
"Hey! I take that offensively pal! I'll have you kno-"
"OBJECTION! Horseshoes, there's no need for any explanations. Just hurry up and wrap this up." Dark Side commanded, making the same piercing noise with his horn.
"Sorry sir....please don't cut my pay..." He asked meekly.
"OBJECTION! Actually Dark Side there's no need. I already found my contradiction. Notice, that, in Horseshoe's testimony, that he stated that, 'you can't gain access unless employed.' While that is true there is one other person who could've obtained it, namely the victim!"
"Wait....WHAT?" Dark Side exclaimed, taken aback by her claim.
"Well, they don't keep the knives relatively hidden so it's not a stretch to think so. Ergo, it's possible he committed suicide!" Twilight exclaimed, believing she was onto something.
"OBJECTION! Sorry Twilight that is impossible. A suicide could not include multiple cuts around the body. It's simply impossible." Dark Side explained.
"But still, this proves that there is still a possibility!"
"Ummm...Twilight?" Spike said unsure of what he was reading on the back of Pinkie's memo.
"What Spike?"
"Read this..." He said, handing the memo over.
"Do not forget. Bring the recipe. If you do not Maud probably will not make it to see tomorrow.
Signed~Soarin?!!!!!"
"Wait what?! The one from the Wonderbolts?!" Phoenix exclaimed rather loudly forgetting their situation for a moment.
"It seems so. Your Honor. Please read the back side of Pinkie s memo. I believe we can cast suspicion on another individual with this evidence." She said, relinquishing the memo over to the judge.
"....recipe....live.....Maud....WHOAH!!!! Soar in!?" He said skimming until he came across Soarin's name. "But he went missing weeks ago!"
"Well, your honor , this proves that this requires further investigation." Twilight stated, hoping to get another investigation day.
"Well this does seem to be the case. Your thoughts, Dark Side?"
"I don't care. I will still get my guilty verdict in the end. They can have the rest of the year for all I care!" Dark Side taunted.
"Alright Ms. Sparkle, you have the rest of the year to-"
"OBJECTION! Not literally!"

3-1 Investigation
[3:31 Twilight's Library, The Next Day]
"So...your here because some unicorn besides me or Rarity brought you here to help me with the trial?" Twilight said speaking to both herself and Phoenix.
"Well, actually I was hoping you could handle the initial investigation and I could handle the trial." Phoenix explained.
"I believe that might be best..." She said, lamenting her trial and how many close calls she had. "I'll go investigate, you prepare the case." She said leaving for sugarcube corner.
[3:40 Sugarcube Corner, Kitchen]
"Well, they moved the body...but since no one is here I guess I can investigate." She said, speaking to herself. She was actually tense, being at a murder scene and all. She did a quick skim and decided to check out the taped of area first. The first thing she noticed was that there was a surprisingly small amount of blood at the crime scene.
"Very peculiar..." She commented to herself. Not only that, but there weren't even any blood splatters...
"What exactly does this mean?" She wondered aloud.
"I dunno, you tell me." A familiar dark voice said from the shadows of the barely lit room.
"That's a pathetic attempt at intimidation Dark Side." Twilight said lowly, her tone grim.
"...so what? Intimidation isn't exactly what I was aiming for, but ill go with it." He said smirking.
"Well it's good that your here. I have a few questions." She said.
"Fine, shoot. That guilty verdict is mine anyways."
"The victim... who was he exactly?"
"Spicy Chipotle...He....worked here." Dark Side said reluctantly.
"What?! Really?!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Yup. It's all in his background check. It also seems he made illegal prescription desserts that cure varieties of diseases." Dark Side said grimacing as he said "illegal".
"So, he was, on the surface, normal but in the background he made and sold illegal pastries?" Twilight said, attempting to summarize the report.
"Basically, here just take his background check report. I had multiple copies made anyhow.
(Chipotle's Background Check added to court record)
"Er, thanks" she said, appalled by his sudden turn of generosity
"Dont mention it."
"So he worked here? What did he do?"
"He was the assistant confectioner in the kitchen meaning he cut The desserts into equal pairs to deliver them."
"So he handled the knives?"
" I guess you could say that."
"Hmmm...interesting..." Twilight said aloud jotting those notes down for later reference.
"Oh yeah, about the back of that note....have you located Soarin yet?"
"Did you not understand that he is a missing pony? Shoot, I would have disappeared too if I was involved in the GN-2 Incident."
"Huh? GN-2? Maybe I should ask Dark Side a bit more..." Twilight wondered.
"So...GN-2?"
"So you haven't heard of it? It was the trial of Spitfire for the murder of a fellow wonderbolt by the name of Fleet Foot. Apparently Spitfire's DNA was all over the victims body, and the murder weapon was hidden in her room, so it was an open and shut case. The one who defended her in court was no other than the pie loving master of the sky Soarin. But the prosecutor was still more experienced. Manefred Von Hoovington. The ruthless prosecutor of godly proportions. Soarin stood no chance and before the verdict was announced, he threw a smoke bomb and fled the scene. He was never seen again. Some say he's living elsewhere in a different guise. Who knows he might be here in Ponyville." Dark SIde said finishing his tale.
"You wouldn't happen to have the incidents file on hand do you?"
"Yes. You can have it. I have no further use for it."

"Thanks for your help Dark Side."
"Not a problem."
"I'll be going now, I have to check with Pinkie."She said, leaving Dark Side
On her way to the detention center, she ran into a Pegasus head on.
"What in-?! That's impossible!" She said, eyeing the Pegasus in a dark costume.
"Mare-Do-Well?!"
Mare-Do-Well looked at Twilight for a moment before disappeared into the distance.
"That was weird. I wonder who that was."
