World of Equestian War

Ten years ago Princess Twilight Sparkle's Crown and the Element of Magic was stolen. They searched high and low but no matter where they looked they couldn't find it. Over time rumors and accusations were thrown around that Luna had turned back into Nightmare Moon and had hidden the Element so it couldn't be used against her. Others said that Celestia had gone mad with power and had stolen it in an attempt to gain more power. Eventually these rumors tore a wedge between the two great alicorns and eventually caused them to split.

Luna feeling betrayed by her sister lead a group of her most loyal subjects, the Nocturne Ponies out of Equestria and west into The Silent Reach. There she founded her own kingdom which she dubbed The Lunar Republic. Shortly after the founding of her new kingdom she was approached by the Zebra priestess Arahaeldes, the leader of Zavros, who asked for her help, as her people were under siege from the Dragons. Luna agreed and formed an alliance with the Zebras with free trade between their nations in exchange for their help. Iron Thunderhoof the High Chief of the Noble Minotaures also joined the Alliance as the Dragons destroyed their lands as well.

Soon after the Dragons where pushed back, Gumarich, king of the Griffins, already having treaties with the Minotaures and Zebras, joined the Lunar Alliance, as it was beginning to be called, after seeing it’s combined strength in dealing with the Dragons.

After the failed Invasion for Cantorlot, the surviving Changelings had appointed Apidae as their new Queen.  attempted to apologise and establish good relations with Equestria. However Celestia wouldn’t even consider meeting with them after what they did. Weakened and starving the dwindling Changeling Swarm turned to Princess Luna and the Lunar Republic for help. Luna took pity on them and welcomed them into her Alliance, allowing them to thrive once more.
