The finial straw

The last week at flight school was here. Starburst headed to class with prism bolt like she did always, along with whirlwind. They sat in their desks after their teacher fleet foot walked in. "Good morning students. As you all know, finials are coming soon. The first three to go will be the top in the school, prism bolt, starburst, and whirlwind." the class clapped for them. Prism was basking in the aberration, whirlwind was to but not as much. Starburst had smiled and sat back, hoping this would make her mother proud. She always strived to do this, wanting to be just as good as her. Starburst looked at prism who was just loving the action, he just looked at her and winked. She rolled his eyes, knowing he wouldn't stop talking about this until he got into the wonderbolts.

After class, she got her things and headed to the gym to practice flying with her coach. Her coach was waiting for her and smiled when she walked in. "There you are, starburst! Congrats on being in the top three in school!" starburst smiled at her. 'thank you Coach murcry" she got her gear on and began her training. After that she gave her coach a small hug which she had never done. "thank you coach, really I thank you whole heartedly" he smiled and patted her back. "kid, you should be thanking yourself as much as me, you put so much work into your schooling and being great at flying. I just helped along the way." she smiled and went home.

When she got there, her brother ran to her, excited to hear about his BSBFFF's day. She smiled and ruffled his mane, "hey there kiddo, what you do today?" she asked. "at magic school I leaned how to do this," he concentrated hard, and made a small plant grow a bit. "Thats very cool!" she lifted him on her wing and walked around the house, he pretended he was flying. "wee!" he screamed and giggled alerting their father.
