Blue is my Favorite Color
I sat on the hill, overlooking Ponyville as the sun started to rise. The sight was beautiful, but if only I had someone to share it with. My friend couldn't go anywhere. Ever since we crash landed in Equestria, she hasn't quite been her usual self. I worry for her very much. Hopefully when I find the Doctor, he can help her. Maybe the stallion of legend could help...me.
I walked on my daily trails in and out of Ponyville. I waved to my new-found friends and smiled as i continued my path, ever searching for a single pony. I wonder what he looks like...or if he even will help me. I really hope he does... but what if he doesn't? And all my years of searching went to waste. No one could help her then, no one would even know what a TARDIS is. Lost in thought I bumped into a particular friend of mine. Immediately, I lightly blushed as our gazes met, and I was looking right at Ponyville's newest Princess, Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Out of everypony in this town, Twilight is the only one who knows who I really am, and why I am here, as well as what I am trying to do. From my research back at Gallifrey, I had learned that in Equestria there are 4 Princess. So once I had crashed landed here with my friend, knew who I should go to. I was right. Twilight was very practical about my situation, and respected my wishes as to hiding my true identity. To everpony other than Twilight, I was a pony from Cloudsdale.
"Still looking for him I presume?" Twilight had asked with a small smile.
I nodded sheepishly as I looked downward and pawed at the ground with my hoof. "Yeah, still no luck. Sometimes I wonder if he is even in Equestria, or even a real living being. But anyways, have you heard anything?" With hope gleaming in my eyes, I looked back at Twilight.
Twilight's smile brightened. "Actually, I do have some news," Just hearing that, a smile splayed across my face. "There have been a few sightings of a strange stallion disappearing into a box, which I believe what you call, a TARDIS."
I nodded in excitement. "That description sounds just about right. But do you know where these sightings have taken place?" Again, hope has filled me to the brim. I was closer to him than ever. If I could reach to him this one time, and at least speak to him, it would make all the difference.
Twilight had noticed how excited Dawn was, she just hoped that she wouldn't disappoint her. Dawn had only told one pony about her life long quest, and how important it was...something about how the last two of a species should at least acknowledge that the other exists or something silly. Even though it sounded silly, Twilight would help her friend in any way she could. Wait, what did she ask again? Oh, yeah, she wanted to know where the sightings took place. "Yes, they were seen around in Ponyville."
"Okay, thanks again Twilight for helping me out. I'll see you later." I continued past Twilight on my daily routes, as I went back into deep thought. How can he be in Ponyville? I've searched everywhere, everyday. I know every corner, street, bend, alley, practically all of Ponyville's geography! how could he be here- I was stopped mid thought as a light-brown coated stallion ran just by me.
Oh my, that was him, he ran by just in front of me, and I did nothing! What is wrong with me?! I had no more time to think, just to act. I ran after him, but not at full speed for I was trying to save my energy if I needed it later on. "Doctor!" I had yelled after him. Instead of hearing my shout he turned a corner, with me hot on his trail. Every now and then he would turn another corner: left, left, right, left, right, right, right, left. I was getting so confused. Wait, is that Sugar Cube Corners again? We were just here...is he just trying to throw me off his trail? I may as well just stop if he doesn't want me too follow him. Reluctantly, I stopped running. Maybe he wasn't the legend I thought he was.
My whole being just filled with sadness. I would have gone back to my friend, but I knew she could't comfort me this time, even if we did have a very special connection. Instead, i just went into an alley that I knew nopony ever went to, and sat down. All my years of waiting, ruined. All because of some stupid stallion. I knew he would have been to good to be true, but I just couldn't help myself... Before that moment, I was able to hold hold myself together, but not now. Tears poured out of me like a river. Once I was out of tears, I had just laid down and wept silently with dry tears. My whole life...ruined.
Sometime later, (I honestly have no idea how much time had past, it may have been minutes, hours, or even days) A shadow laid upon me and woke me up. I don't remember falling asleep...oh well. I looked up to what was casting the shadow and saw a stallion. To be honest, he was a beautiful stallion. His mane was flowing in the wind, his coat caught the sun rays just perfectly, and his eyes. Don't get me started on those baby blue eyes. Anyways, he looked at me with concern and held out his hoof. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yes," I nodded. I took his hoof and he pulled me off of the ground. I dusted myself, trying to look presentable. Wait, what am I doing?! He totally blew me off when I last saw him! I stopped dusting myself off and looked at the stallion in the eye. "You are The Doctor, right?"
The stallion looked shocked. "How did you know tha- aren't you the mare who was chasing me the other day?" He then took a few steps back in precaution.
"Yes, I am. I just needed to talk to you about-" I was suddenly silenced from the Doctor as he put a hoof on my mouth. What was that for! Is he eyeing me up and down? Just what I needed, another stallion after me, especially one that I don't like! Dawn, you need to calm down...calm down. What has my life come too?
He just smirked and said one simple fact about himself. "Blue is my favorite color."
Ever since that fateful day, I traveled with The Doctor through out time and space for days, weeks, years (Who knows how long when you are traveling in a TARDIS). Until one day something went bad in my life, and I had to leave him behind. Little did I know what was going to happen next was going to change my life forever.
I'm sitting on the ground in the middle of the Everfree Forest. The site where we had crashed. But instead of we, it is now I. Most ponies think they know true pain, and what ever they tell you about it, it's wrong. I know true pain. Every waking moment it is there. It is in my heart and soul, making my whole existence a sad one. Even in my sleep I have nightmares so painful, Princess Luna doesn't show up. It feels as if you are made of lead and you have no joints in your body do every step breaks you.
It makes you feel worthless and that you just want to end your life, but you know you cant, even though you really want too. And even then your own disappearance is good enough. You always try so very hard to see the good in life, but all you see is a barren wasteland instead of a colorful meadow. You try so very hard to smile and laugh once more, but it is fake. A mask for the real you.
I could go on and on about how true pain feels, but it is hard to describe in words. If you really want to know how I feel, imagine this. You are holding your best friend in the whole universe in your arms, and their life is slowly draining away. There is absolutely nothing you can to help expect being a friend. Then they ask you to sing a song to them. You then start to sing as they die, then you somehow make things worse. That right there is true pain. But you don't quite understand it. You have no idea what happened to make things worse, and you never will.
"I can't believe I was so selfish..." I whisper to myself. "The Doctor was right there by my side for how long? And now that the Doctor is gone, I will most likely never see him again. It's all my fault she died, all my fault."
I wrapped my hooves around my self as I cry again for the second time. It's strange that I have tears left still in me. Could it be some cruel joke from our creator? At this point, I just gave up. First, my heart breaks from a stallion, then is mended again by him, but will mend my broken hearts this time? My best friend is gone, the Doctor is gone, and I doubt I could go to Twilight about this. There is no one left out there for me. I am left in this unfamiliar world, filled with unfamiliar ponies. There was nothing left for me.
While I waded in my sorrows, a hoof was placed on my shoulder. Connected to that hoof was a black stripped white limb. I looked up to see the face of this strange figure and saw the face of a zebra. So this must be Zecora, Twilight had mentioned her. "H-hello? who are you?"
"Who I may be, is not the question you see, who are you, is the question true." She smiled softly. There was a pause of silence, and she nodded to me as if to answer.
"Oh, I'm Dawn. And I come from Cloudsdale, I'm new here," I tried to say with my best convincing voice, but it came out sounding shaken. Zercora shook her head knowing that was not correct. But how does she know? I've never told anypony around here but Twilight...maybe it was my shaky voice?
"I know as well as you, that is not true."
"But my names is really Dawn."
"That may be right, but your true identity is hidden from sight."
"Well...fine...I come from another planet which no longer exists." Why am I telling her this? This is my own personal secrets, but yet I'm spilling the beans to a stranger! Sure I know here name...bu- ugh! Why must this all be so complicated?
"You may ring true, but for what I seek, we must dig deep." Zecora was not about to step down know. She knew exactly what I needed to hear, but it needed to come from myself.
Slowly I spilled the rest of the beans, "I might as well say everything. My name is Dawn. I am a Time Lord and I come from the planet Gallifrey. But Gallifrey no longer exists due to the Doctor, in attempt to save the universe. He know thinks he is the last of his kind, but I need to prove him wrong, to let him know I am here. I have a special ability which could be horrible in the wrong hands. But it means I am destined for something great. I am one of the last of my kind, my only friend is now gone, and the Doctor must be oh so very far away. I need to leave my mark on the universe, and to bring a stallion out of his loneliness" Once I spoke my last word, I was standing tall. I finally have something to live for. I was wrong, there is something out there for me. Even if I must chase after it, I will get there. I smiled proudly as Zecora slipped a small smile.
"Thank you Zecora, my hearts are now mended and I have something to live for." I gave her a quick hug and parted ways with her. It was time to find that stallion once more.
Before you read on, know this. My name is Dawn, I am a blue coated Pegasus and yet I do not originally come from Equestria. I am from a planet called Gallifrey, in the constellation of Kasterborous, light-years away. This makes me a Time Lord, which means 2 hearts and the ability to regenerate. But as a young filly, I was different, special, as my parents would tell me. Although I knew what that meant. I was destined for something great, something spectacular. For I had a special ability that allowed me to physically communicate with a TARDIS.
Life at home had been great. I'd wake up and eat breakfast, then go to school for a couple hours, come home and play with my friends, eat dinner, then go to bed. But I may have left a couple details out, I had only one friend (she was a Unicorn), and my life wasn't that great. Like in every other school, there were the bullies.
They thought they were so cool. Everyday, they would find me, no matter where I hide. They were just always there. And it didn't help that I was special. they used it to their advantage, and called me a freak instead. Everyday I went home crying to my parents and my only friend. Those were the only souls that I could trust. I always wished my friend could go to school with me, but she never could for the fact of who she was, a TARDIS.
Yes, my only friend ever was a TARDIS, go on and laugh, I don't mind. It must be strange to think about, but she could use her cloaking ability to turn into a pony just like you and I. The most remarkable thing about her is that when she cloaked her self to look like a pony, she didn't just look like a pony, she practically was a pony. She moved and talked just like a regular pony. You would have never known she was a TARDIS just by looking at her.
Anyways, one day the Daleks invaded our beloved planet and started the great Time War. I do not remember much about it for my friend and I left , before something happened to us, and crashed in Equestria. But I do know that in order to save the universe, a stallion by the name of 'The Doctor' made a sacrifice, and destroyed my home planet and everything in it, including all the Time Lords and Daleks. or so he thought.
Ever since I started to search for that lonely stallion. He had thought he was the last living Time Lord, but I was going to prove him wrong.
