The Blue Pegasus From Out of Town

Mending Broken Hearts

Previous Chapter

I'm sitting on the ground in the middle of the Everfree Forest. The site where we had crashed. But instead of we, it is now I. Most ponies think they know true pain, and what ever they tell you about it, it's wrong. I know true pain. Every waking moment it is there. It is in my heart and soul, making my whole existence a sad one. Even in my sleep I have nightmares so painful, Princess Luna doesn't show up. It feels as if you are made of lead and you have no joints in your body do every step breaks you.

It makes you feel worthless and that you just want to end your life, but you know you cant, even though you really want too. And even then your own disappearance is good enough. You always try so very hard to see the good in life, but all you see is a barren wasteland instead of a colorful meadow. You try so very hard to smile and laugh once more, but it is fake. A mask for the real you.

I could go on and on about how true pain feels, but it is hard to describe in words. If you really want to know how I feel, imagine this. You are holding your best friend in the whole universe in your arms, and their life is slowly draining away. There is absolutely nothing you can to help expect being a friend. Then they ask you to sing a song to them. You then start to sing as they die, then you somehow make things worse. That right there is true pain. But you don't quite understand it. You have no idea what happened to make things worse, and you never will.

"I can't believe I was so selfish..." I whisper to myself. "The Doctor was right there by my side for how long? And now that the Doctor is gone, I will most likely never see him again. It's all my fault she died, all my fault."

I wrapped my hooves around my self as I cry again for the second time. It's strange that I have tears left still in me. Could it be some cruel joke from our creator? At this point, I just gave up. First, my heart breaks from a stallion, then is mended again by him, but will mend my broken hearts this time? My best friend is gone, the Doctor is gone, and I doubt I could go to Twilight about this. There is no one left out there for me. I am left in this unfamiliar world, filled with unfamiliar ponies. There was nothing left for me.

While I waded in my sorrows, a hoof was placed on my shoulder. Connected to that hoof was a black stripped white limb. I looked up to see the face of this strange figure and saw the face of a zebra. So this must be Zecora, Twilight had mentioned her. "H-hello? who are you?"

"Who I may be, is not the question you see, who are you, is the question true." She smiled softly. There was a pause of silence, and she nodded to me as if to answer.

"Oh, I'm Dawn. And I come from Cloudsdale, I'm new here," I tried to say with my best convincing voice, but it came out sounding shaken. Zercora shook her head knowing that was not correct. But how does she know? I've never told anypony around here but Twilight...maybe it was my shaky voice?

"I know as well as you, that is not true."

"But my names is really Dawn."

"That may be right, but your true identity is hidden from sight."

"Well...fine...I come from another planet which no longer exists." Why am I telling her this? This is my own personal secrets, but yet I'm spilling the beans to a stranger! Sure I know here name...bu- ugh! Why must this all be so complicated?

"You may ring true, but for what I seek, we must dig deep." Zecora was not about to step down know. She knew exactly what I needed to hear, but it needed to come from myself.

Slowly I spilled the rest of the beans, "I might as well say everything. My name is Dawn. I am a Time Lord and I come from the planet Gallifrey. But Gallifrey no longer exists due to the Doctor, in attempt to save the universe. He know thinks he is the last of his kind, but I need to prove him wrong, to let him know I am here. I have a special ability which could be horrible in the wrong hands. But it means I am destined for something great. I am one of the last of my kind, my only friend is now gone, and the Doctor must be oh so very far away. I need to leave my mark on the universe, and to bring a stallion out of his loneliness" Once I spoke my last word, I was standing tall. I finally have something to live for. I was wrong, there is something out there for me. Even if I must chase after it, I will get there. I smiled proudly as Zecora slipped a small smile.

"Thank you Zecora, my hearts are now mended and I have something to live for." I gave her a quick hug and parted ways with her. It was time to find that stallion once more.
