Time. Time is the most precious thing in life. It decides your fate, your future, your life. With enough time, you can create something beautiful. Without time, there would be no life. Everypony takes it for granted. This is my story. My story of adventure, tragedy, romance, and time. So now, my story begins.
It all started on a warm Sunday morning. I remember quite well that it was November 8th, because that was my anniversary with Ponyville. I had officially been living there for three years. I walked out of my small apartment and walked across the street to Sugarcube Corner. It was just a normal day. Selling candy, talking with friends who stopped by. But that all changed when two ponies rushed through the door. "Lyra, Bonbon?" I called. Bonbon collapsed on the floor, panting heavily. Lyra opened her mouth to speak, out of breath, "Minty! The Wonderbolts are here!"
I glanced at her curiously. "Here? In Ponyville?"
"Yes, of course, here in Ponyville!"
"But...why?"
"They're performing in Cloudsdale! They got a hotel room here!"
I smirked, "You guys are way to obsessed."
Lyra glared at me. "You know that you love them too!"
"Yes, but I'm not obsessed. They're amazing fliers, but that doesn't make them gods."
Bonbon finally stood up. "But they're coming here to order a cake for the show!"
I rolled my eyes. "So? It's not like they're going to notice me. I'm not even a pegasus."
"Okay, okay. You're being all serious, we get it. See you tomorrow?"
"Sure. Bye guys," I said happily. I continued the day like I would any other day, filling orders and baking deserts. When the day came to an end, I got my things and locked up. As I walked down the street, my eyes turned up to the sky. Next thing I knew, I had crashed in to something warm. I quickly stood up and looked. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" I said, looking at the stallion.
"It's no problem, really. It was my fault," he said.
"It was my fault too. Wait...you're Frost Flash, right?"
He gave an annoyed groan. "Ugh, not another fanpony. I'm sorry, it's just that I can't go anywhere without being mobbed by fans."
"Oh, I'm not like that. So you really are Flash Frost, member of the Wonderbolts."
"Um...yeah. Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as rude. I've just had a long day."
I laughed. "I completely understand. I'm Mint Twist, by the way."
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Mint. Hey, can I walk you to wherever you're going?" he asked.
I smiled. "It would be my pleasure."
He picked up my bag and insisted on carrying it. My first impression of him was great. He was a gentleman, and he was very good looking. When he arrived, he looked at me with a charming smile. "Would you like to meet me for dinner tonight?" he asked. I smiled. "That would be great. So, I'll see you at Oats and Hay Buffet at...seven?" Frost grinned, "It's a date." He laid a beautiful rose on my kitchen table with a note. With that, he trotted off. Our date that night went incredibly well. We made plans to go out the next day for lunch. I retired to my flat soon after dinner, exhausted. Suddenly, I remembered Twilight Sparkle telling me about a meteor shower that night. I walked up to my window and looked outside. It was amazing. Everything was incredibly close....almost like I could touch them. Out of them all, one particular meteor caught my eye. It had specks of gold in it, making it absolutely breathtaking. I watched as it came closer and closer. Peculiarly, it seemed closer than all of the others. Like it was coming strait for me. But of course, I paid it no attention. But the longer I watched, the closer it came. I could almost feel it's heat...but it had to be my imagination. But it wasn't. The last thing I remember is the scalding heat and the bright light....
I woke up the next morning feeling shaken. I remembered having an awful dream about meteors... I looked at my clock and was shocked. November 8th...? There had to be a mistake. I walked over to my table, looking for the rose that Frost had left, but there was nothing there.
I shook my head. Nothing there....maybe I had just imagined the roses. Maybe he had taken them with him. I walked outside and trotted over to Sugarcube corner. I opened the shop up and checked the register. Fifty bits short! I quickly called Mrs. Cake and told her about the missing money. She just laughed on the other end, "You're hilarious, Mint! That's how much there was yesterday!" I was just so...confused. I sat through the day, still confused. All of the same customers came in and ordered the same thing. But the weirdest thing was when Lyra and Bonbon burst through the door. Bonbon collapsed on the floor, panting heavily. Lyra opened her mouth to speak, out of breath, "Minty! The Wonderbolts are here!"
"Um....I know. You told me yesterday."
Lyra tilted her head. "But they just announced it an hour ago..."
I just laughed. "You guys are hilarious!"
Bonbon stood up and swished her tail. "Hey Mint, are you feeling alright? Maybe you should take the rest of the day off."
And that was when I realized how screwed I was.
