Mare of Wonders, Mistress Mare-velous

We now turn to another member of the Power Ponies. This time to Mistress Mare-velous, the Mare of Wonders. She wasn't always call that, she was once Miss Mare, the daughter of Captain Stallion. This is the story of how she started out a Miss Mare and become Mistress Mare-velous.

Applejack always thought she was a simple farm pony that life in the outskirts of the city of Fillydelphia. She had no idea she was greater then she was now. Applejack just finish her outside chores and was heading inside her house for a little rest. She walk up to the door and watch as her little sister Apple Bloom ran out.

"Whoa there little apple, I get you're happy to go to school, but don't go breaking your hooves on your first day." Applejack said and caught her.

"I can't help it! I'm really, really, excited!" Apple Bloom said with a smile.

"Just be careful, ok? Big Mac taking you today, he waiting for ya at the gate." Applejack said.

"Right, see ya later sis!" Apple Bloom said and ran off.

Applejack smile and walk inside. Her house was mostly had a lot of space there was only somethings that the Apple Family had. Applejack sat down in her chair and move her hat over her eyes, getting a little of rest. It wasn't easy being a farm pony. She always had to get up at dawn, work on the farm almost all day, and end with her tried at the end. Today she got lucky, she finish early and was hopping to catch a few Z's since her older brother Big Macintosh, or Big Mac for short, was taken Apple Bloom to her school. Applejack thought this was her life. A life that she will always live in, until she found something that change who she was, forever.

Applejack was woken up by Big Mac shaking her.

"Applejack?" He said.

Applejack push up her hat and yawn.

"What's up Big Mac?", She ask, "how long was I asleep?"

"10 minutes, thought you might need it. Anyway, the attic needs to be clean out. Think you can handle it?" He answer then ask.

"Heh, in your word, Eyep!" Applejack said back, making him laugh.

Applejack walk through upstairs hallway and come to the rope that pull down the stairs to the attic. She pull it down and walk up the stairs. Applejack poke her head through and look around. Her attic was full with boxes and a few dresses and lots and lots of dirt. Applejack knew the only way to get this room clean was to take everything out and clean it. She was already taking out a few things, when she found something, or more like it found her.

Applejack was taking a box off of a self when another box fell on her head.

"Ow! What in Tarnation?" She said rubbing her head.

She look down and saw the box that hit her head. She open it and was surprise to see the comic books of her favorite hero, Captain Stallion.

"Whoa! I remember reading theses! I also like Captain Stallion. Heh, I remember the time I dress up as him. Ma try to tell to take it off and Pa just laugh as I act just like Captain Stallion." Applejack said smiling.

Applejack move the comics out of the way and was surprise to see the gold and black suit of Captain Stallion as well as his saddle bag of his Lucky Silver Horseshoes. There was a picture laying on top of the suit and Applejack pick it up. She look and saw few ponies dress in war-fare. Also in the picture was her mom standing next to her dad. Looking closer Applejack could make out that her father was wearing Captain Stallion suit. It took her a few second to place the pieces together. Big Mac, Herself, and Apple Bloom were the children of Captain Stallion!

"What? Our dad is Captain Stallion? How is that...?" She started to say, before a hoof touch her shoulder.

Applejack look up and saw a red mare with blonde hair like her and an apple seed as her cutie mark. This was her mom, Seed Apple.

"Ya father didn't want you to know, Applejack." She said, knowing that Applejack found the truth.

"Why?" She ask.

"Apple Tree was afraid that you might try following in his hoof-steps. Big Mac doesn't know a lot of fighting skills, Apple Bloom is too young and you..." Seed stop as she turn to her.

"What about me?" Applejack ask.

"You father always love how you act like him. It was all because you got his strength. Even before he was Captain Stallion, your father was strong. He had a strong heart even when others pick on him, he could see in you. He knew you had the same thing has he did, a strong heart. That why he didn't tell you." Seed explain.

Applejack look down at the stuff she found, wondering why her father would hide this from his own foals. Her mother took the picture and place in the box with everything else and place back on it.

"Applejack, please remember he only what was best for you. He wants you to life out the way you want." Seed said and walk away.

Applejack look at the box for a bit longer, before turning away and and walk out of the attic.

It was late at night and Apple Bloom told them that her first day of school was ok, she made no friends yet, but she was getting better. Big Mac explain that he will be leaving the farm for few weeks, because a company offer him a job to help his family. Seed was proud of her oldest and youngest fouls. Applejack was happy for them too, but she couldn't stop thinking about her father.

Applejack finish her food and said, "I'm calling it early, Night ya'll!"

"Night Applejack!" Apple Bloom call out.

"Night AJ." Big Mac said.

"Goodnight dear." Seed Apple said as well.

Applejack went towards her room and shut the door. She reach under her bed and pull out a green suit that was made to fit on her, a green mask that goes over her eyes, some red bands that she place on her tail and mane, and a saddle bag full with her father's Lucky Silver Horseshoes.

"Look out Fillydelphia, Here come the daughter of Captain Stallion, Miss Mare!" She said and grab her lasso and jump out of her window. Use her lasso, Applejack grab the tree breach and swing safely back to the ground. She ran out towards the city, unknowing that her mother watch her do so.

"Oh, Apple Tree. I never want her to follow you. Please watch over her." She said looking up to the night sky.

Applejack was able to get to the roofs and jump from from one to another. She was looking out for any crime and at the same time practicing throwing the horseshoes. She wasn't that good, but she knew she could do it. It didn't take her long before she heard an alarm go off and ran toward it. There was some robbers come out with sacks of money on their back and they were all unicorns.

"Hm, I don't like this, I better follow them first." Applejack said and ran across the roofs after them.

Applejack had no problem following them until the stop at an ally that hid them from the police.

"Heh, that was a little too easy." One thug said.

"I'll say, for second I thought we were going to get caught." The second thug said.

"Sure glad you were wrong." The third thug laugh.

"Well, let get out of here before they come back." The first thug said.

They didn't even leave the ally when Applejack spoke up.

"Sorry to rain on ya'll parade, but I can't let you go." She said.

"Huh?, Who there!" The first thug said.

"Try up here!" He heard and felt something smack his head, knocking him out.

The other two look at the horseshoe and was afraid it was only one pony that could stop them.

"It can't be Captain Stallion." The second thug said.

"Yeah, he pass away a long time ago." The third agree.

"Ya'll right about that." Applejack said as she jump down by the ladders.

Applejack was glad she work on the farm. It give her the exercise that she need for this hero busies.

She land in front of them and said, "I'm his daughter, Miss Mare."

The other two was surprise at that, but the third thug shook it off.

"We don't care who you are! No ones stand up to the Gems Keepers!" She said and charge at her.

Applejack threw her second silver horseshoe and the thug dodge it, only for his partner to take the hit. The thug threw a hoof , that Applejack dodge and threw one back, knocking him away and out.

"Huh, this is my first night and Ah already took you three out without even trying. I was thinking this was going to be harder." Applejack said.

"Is that so?" She heard.

Before she could turn around, she was slam by something or someone and knock into the wall. She shook her head and look up to see four more thugs coming at her, with one was bigger then the rest.

"So, you're the daughter of Captain Stallion? I must say, he was a good stallion. A great fighter too, I hope you can live up to his name." The big thug said.

"Trust me, Ah plan on it." Applejack said and ready herself.

Three thugs charge at her and Applejack jump over one and kick the next one. She turn to block an punch and was hit by another. She turn and duck under a another punch before tripping the thug. She stood up and was punch back. She block the next one and threw a kick knocking him back. Applejack was then slam into again by the big thug and knock into the thug that was still standing. He held on to her hooves as the big thug walk up.

"You don't fight like your father, but you did say it was your first night. Too bad you didn't try to stop lower crimes before coming here." He said.

The other thug walk up and started punching Applejack. Applejack felt the blows go to her head and stomach. She wasn't going to let her father down. Ever since she found out, she promise that she make sure her father name would never fade. As the thug went to swing another blow to her head, Applejack move her head down and had the other thug take the hit. He release Applejack and she threw a kick that knock one in front of her back.

She turn to the big thug and quickly jump over him as he charge at her. Applejack took out her lasso and spin it around, she threw it over him and it land where his hooves were.

"Heh, what is that suppose to do?" He ask.

Applejack smile and pull the rope, casing it to tie up her hooves and make him fall face first into the ground. He try to get back up before Applejack slam on his back, hard as she can, causing him to lose his air and pass out.

"Yeah this was a lot harder then the last one." She said.

A bit later, the police show up and found the seven thugs tie up and a card next to them.

The officer pick it up and read it.

"I'm here to help you as my Father did before me. Miss Mare."

The officer had no idea who this Miss Mare was, but he had a strong feeling that this hero could be some help.

"I better tell General Bleach about this." He said.
