Mare of Rage, Saddle Rager
We now turn to a member that you never want to get mad, Saddle Rager. She wasn't always like that though, here how she become the Saddle Rager.
Fluttershy flew towards her school as fast as she can. She was a pegasus and she was mock as the slowest flying in school. In fact, she was the only pegasus in her school. While most, if not all, pegasi live in the sky above, Fluttershy live near the ground. She was also a widow. She was once marry to a earth pony name Green Levees, they both were scientists trying out something new. Fluttershy had a happy life. Sadly, her life was turn around when a experiment gone work cost the life of her husband. Fluttershy love him very much and he die in her hooves. Fluttershy was always sad and remember that day very well. She flew in the school and into her classroom. Even though she was a slow flyer, she was always ready to teach. Many of her students avoid about her husband death and some don't even ask if she will get remarry.
"Ok, class it time to open your text books to page 345." She said.
"Yeah, boring." One of them said.
"Please, Mr. Wrestle, it to help you grades." Fluttershy said meekly.
"I can't believe that they let a pegasus teach in this school. An unicorn or earth pony would be better." Wrestle said.
Fluttershy said nothing. She was the only Pegasus that live on the ground.
"Come on Wrestle, give her a break. She had a tough live." Another student said.
"Yeah, yeah, I heard about her husband, so what? It not like she going to..." He was stop when his friend cover his mouth.
Wrestle look at his friend who pointed down at Fluttershy. She lower her head as if she was gloomy. Wrestle thought have a pegasus like Fluttershy was a waste of time, but even he knew that Fluttershy never got over his death. He felt sorry for her and move his friend hoof away.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Shy, I didn't mean to..." He said.
"Class, you all know Fluttershy can't get over her husband death." Said a purple earth pony with a pink mane and tail and three smiling flowers as her cutie mark.
"Cheerilee..." Fluttershy said and hug her.
Cheerilee hug back and turn to the class.
"Don't ever talk about Green Levees again, that goes double for you Wrestle." She said.
Fluttershy stood up and wipe her tears. Cheerilee smile and nods.
"Let's being." She said.
The class went on without any more mention about her husband. Fluttershy was a smart pegasus. She talk about science and chemicals in a way that no pony can. For a Pegasus, she was one the other one that many can understand. Fluttershy heard the bell ring and it scare her a bit.
"Ok, class that it for the day. Please remember that there going to be test and you need to study ok?" She said as the class left.
Once they were gone, Fluttershy pick up her papers and a picture fell out. Fluttershy pick it up and and saw herself and Green Levees. Green Levees was a yellow earth pony with a green mane and tail. He had a leaf as his cutie mark as his blue eyes look as calm as the sea. Fluttershy couldn't stop herself from crying as she held to picture towards her heart.
"Fluttershy, are you coming?" Cheerilee ask.
Fluttershy wipe her tears again and said, "Yeah, I'm coming."
She place the picture back in her bag and remember the last words of her husband.
You know something Fluttershy, I was thinking. You think we can raise our own foal?
Wait you mean...
Yeah, let's start a family.
"Yes, of course!
Sadly, Fluttershy never got the chance. The words was said shortly before her husband death. Fluttershy walk out of her room and found her friend Cheerilee and her other friend Coco Pummel.
"Fluttershy?" Coco asked, when she saw the look in her eyes.
"Sorry Cheerilee, Coco, I was thinking about my husband last words." She said.
"About rising a family?" Cheerilee ask.
Fluttershy nods.
"Trust us Fluttershy, if we could see them, I bet they be the most beautiful foals we ever see." Coco said.
"I know, it just sad to think your chance slip away before you can even try." Fluttershy said sadly as they walk.
"Well, in the meantime, my lab has a new chemical that you two must see. You should be able to help us understand it, Fluttershy." Cheerilee said.
"I love to come, but I need to look over my notes and make sure that nothing is wrong." Coco said.
"Sure Coco, I'll let you know about the chemical later." Cheerilee said and Coco wave and left.
"Come on Fluttershy, lets go to my lab." Cheerilee said.
Fluttershy nods and follow Cheerilee, little knowing that her life would change.
Cheerilee and Fluttershy made it to the lab that was built my their fathers. Fluttershy's father was the first pegasus to live on the ground and Cheerilee's father was his first friend. They both knew a lot about chemicals and built a lab to study about them. When Fluttershy's father had to return back to the skies, Cheerilee's father took over until Cheerilee was old enough to take over. Cheerilee share the lab with Fluttershy since it was also hers father as well.
They both walk in and saw a few of the workers already studying the chemicals, but Fluttershy and Cheerilee already knew about them. Cheerilee wanted to show Fluttershy the new chemical that was found. They enter Cheerilee office and sat down in the chairs.
"Ok, Fluttershy, this new chemical is unknown to all of us. It really strange, every time we try to study it just explodes, like it angry or something." Cheerilee said and show her the chemical that was in a small vile.
Fluttershy look at the chemical and think.
"I really can't say anything about this one, but maybe if I had a better idea what it call." Fluttershy said.
"It doesn't have a name." Cheerilee said.
"I see." Fluttershy said, taking it.
"Careful Fluttershy. It dangerous." Cheerilee warn her.
Fluttershy didn't hear her. As soon as she touch the vile, he eyes turn red for a second as if there was something inside her was trying to wake up.
"Fluttershy?" Cheerilee call out.
"What? huh? Oh, sorry Cheerilee." Fluttershy said confuse at first.
Cheerilee smile before a knock was heard on her door.
"Come in." She said.
"Excise me Miss. Cheerilee? The machine ready to test the chemical." A worker said.
"Thank you Carefree. We'll be right there." Cheerilee said and Carefree left.
"Come on Fluttershy." Cheerilee said to her friend.
Fluttershy nods and follow Cheerilee out.
The reach a machine that was big with lots if chemical warning signs and next to it was a huge ball-like machine that had more of the same chemical that Fluttershy was show.
"Cheerilee?" She ask a bit scare.
Cheerilee knew that machines always scare Fluttershy. Her husband die from one and she never work with them again.
"It ok, Fluttershy. You don't have to get close to it." She said.
Fluttershy nods, feeling a bit better, but was still scare of machines. They were join by an white unicorn in armor who remove his helmet when he reach them.
"Ah! Captain Fleet, What are you doing here?" Cheerilee ask.
"I'm come on the orders of Princess Celestia to over see this testing." He said.
"I see, this new chemical is really given us some trouble." Cheerilee said in understanding.
Fleet turn to see Fluttershy who was hidden behind her mane.
"And who this?" He ask.
"This is my friend, Fluttershy. She's here to help us understand how this new chemical will work." Cheerilee said.
"Ah, yes. I heard about you. I'm sorry for your lost of your husband." He said holding out his hoof.
Fluttershy shook it slowly and was starting to get tears again.
"Now, now, Mrs. Shy, I didn't mean to make you sad. I was just saying losing someone you love is a tough thing." He said.
"I know, I just miss him so much." Fluttershy said.
"Captain, I think we should get started." Cheerilee said.
"Of course." Fleet agree.
They all left the room and stood in a safe room as the workers clear out. One remain behind to make sure nothing was wrong before they truly started.
"So, Miss Cheerilee, what do you plan on doing with the Chemical?" Fleet ask.
"This machine is build to hold the chemical so we can study it better without it exploding on us like it angry or something. Once we do that, we can see what it does to other things, leaving out ponies since we don't want any do to them that could make us lose lives." Cheerilee said.
"I see." Fleet said nodding.
"Miss Cheerilee? I'm almost done. Just got to check that there will be no leeks when the test starts." The worker said.
"Thank You, Carefree." She said.
Fluttershy was having real trouble staying calm. True the machine was different, but her husband death kept replaying in her mind. Cheerilee notices and place a hoof on her.
"It going to be ok Fluttershy. I promise." She said.
Fluttershy smile and relax. But it didn't last long when Carefree let out a shout and some how the machine started up on it own.
Fluttershy watch as Cheerilee and the workers started to try and stop the machine.
"What's happen?" Fleet ask
"I don't know, we can't stop it!" Cheerilee said.
Fluttershy turn to see that Carefree was stuck and her husband death reappear in her mind.
"No, not this time." Fluttershy said and rush out of the room.
"Fluttershy!" Cheerilee call out.
Fluttershy reach to Carefree and saw that his gas mask was caught on a screw and got it free. She pull Carefree away and he crawl to a wall.
"Fluttershy! Carefree! Get out of there!" Cheerilee shouted.
Fluttershy turn to see that the machine was going to power up in a few seconds and Carefree was too scare to move. So Fluttershy did the first thing that came to her mind, she stood right in front of the machine as it started. Spaying the chemical over her body. Fluttershy eyes turn red again and she saw something inside her that look like her only bigger and much more stronger. After that she black out.
Fluttershy open her eyes to see Cheerilee and Coco next to her, sleeping. She smile and rub their heads, waking them up.
"Morning sleepy heads." She said smiling.
"Fluttershy, you really had us worry." Coco said.
"Sorry girls, what happen?" Fluttershy said then ask.
"Well, shortly after you place yourself in front of the machine and the chemical spay over you, your body look to grow for second before you pass out. Fleet order his soldiers to take you to the nearest hospital and return to Canterlot to report to Princess about what happen." Cheerilee explain.
"How long was I out?" Fluttershy ask.
"Almost a month." Coco said.
"Coco, if your trying to be funny, it not working." Fluttershy said knowing her friend was trying to cheer her up.
"You been asleep for almost two weeks, Fluttershy. During that time the doctors look over you and can't find anything wrong about you." Cheerilee said.
"Is there?" Fluttershy ask.
"Not that they can find, but that chemical did something to you, but I'll wait until you feel better to find out what." Cheerilee answer.
Fluttershy nods, she knew that her friends was always there for her. The door open and Fleet walk in.
"Ah, Mrs Shy your awake." He said.
"Hello captain." She said.
"I must say you took a big risk of placing yourself in front of a untested chemical like that." Fleet said.
"I lost my husband to a machine, I'm not going to let any more lives be lost to any machines." Fluttershy said looking at her hooves on the bed.
"I understand. I told the princess about your bravely and she was very surprise to hear it." Fleet said.
"The Princess? Surprise?" Cheerilee ask disbelieving it.
"Yes, surprise me too. I told her that I'll report about the mare that risk her life to save another. Now I can tell her that she is awake." Fleet said.
"I'm sure the Princess will be happy to hear that." Cheerilee said still surprise that her friend risk her life.
"I see you later. Mrs. Shy, glad to see that your awake. Don't go throwing your life into more danger ok?" Fleet said and walk out the room.
"I'll go sign the release paper so you can get home." Coco said and left as well.
"Fluttershy, just promise you won't do something like that again." Cheerilee said.
"Trust me, I don't feel any different, in fact I just fine. As if I was never hurt." Fluttershy said.
"Once Coco sign the papers, you can sleep in your own bed." Cheerilee said.
"I like that." Fluttershy said, smiling.
