Trepidation

          A door opened, dust particles scattered frantically around the room. At the door stood a dark figure obstructing the white bright light behind It. “Ohhhh I can't what for who is this month party guest!" Says a high pitched voice in excitement as it traveled down the stairs. Loud creaks screamed as every single step compressed it. *Click Click* As a light illuminated the dark abyss within. “Hey Clover, Greetings Colgate, Helloo Gilda" spoke the voice as it trotted along. The voice started to hummed a song as it straighten up the basement. On the walls were nearly every single news article of ponies mysteriously missing around Ponyville. The pony noticed this and took a long look at it, reading word after word even giggling at times. "Ahhh the old times" the voice sighed continuing her work. The mysterious pink pony then pulled out some kind of randomizer machine you'll find dealing with the lottery under a bed of sheets. “ Ca ca, all that dust, just in a month is just ridiculous" spoke the voice as it proceeded to do it's intentions.

“ The moment we've been waiting for...."it spoke pulling the lever. Strips of paper flew freely around the surrounding capsule . After what seemed like forever, a simple little strip fell Into the carriage lying outside the machine's walls. A sadistic wide smile grew on the pink pony's face as it read it.

"Dear Diary,

Today is the first day of August, and I'm sooooooo excited!!

A few weeks ago, the Cakes booked a vacation to Haywaii. Which is kinda of dumb after all. With it being the beginning of the chilly temps and all.

But anywho, leaves me all alone, all by myself.

And thus the Harvest continues.....

And to who will join me on this super duper special party.....

         A head raised as it huffed, stretching, trotting in place.

“You ready for this Lighting? "Said a brown Pegasus colt

“Are you kidding, 5 months of hardcore , unrelenting flying at this crappy flight school just to fail. Bbbbbb yeah right."she replied back. Lightning Flash was the cockiest of the class and almost everypony didn't like her. The sky blue Pegasus flared her wings, preparing for her turn to come up.  So far everypony passed their exam with little making any errors. Up next was one of Lightning's bestest friends, Quick Breeze who was preparing also for the test.

“Are YOU ready B?" Asked Lightning still stretching her wings.

“Oh...Yeah..Um Sure..." Quick Breeze replied smiling in a fake style toward Lightning. Quick Breeze was a great flyer, one of the best in the school. She passed thru every challenge the teacher threw at her, but this was different, this was the end and Breeze was terrified. Sweat began to run down Breeze's face as her legs shook.

“C'mon, don't tell me your scared of this crap." Lightning asked smirking.

“What what" Breeze snapped out of her fear.“Scared? of course not, It's... jus-st the wind that's all." Quick Breeze smiled again hoping her lie went through. At first, Lightning knew she was obviously lying, but It was quite chilly outside especially up in the clouds. So Lightning ignored the thought and continued trotting in place as Quick Breeze's name was called.

"Good Luck B" Lightning greeted Quick Breeze as she nervously flew towards the instructor.

On your mark....Get Set......FLY!!!! yelled the instructor, scaring Breeze onto the course

Quick Breeze's fear began to wear off as she quickly but carefully passed through the first part of the course. The test was approximately 3 to 4 miles long bending and looping at all angles with a limit of only 5 minutes. Breeze passed the finish line at 4 and a half. The class cheered at her success as the teacher gave her the final time. “Yes!!!" Breeze cheered as flew towards the rest of the class.

“Lighting Flash!" The teacher yelled as he finished writing down the previous score.

“Don't got to call me again Pops." Lighting commented crouching down into ready position.

“On your mark...Get set.....F-" The teacher said getting cut off by Lightning's instant launch off. In just 4 seconds into the test, she was already zooming by the first couple of obstacles. Rushes of cool fresh air ran through Lightning's mane as she continues to easily bypass every single loop and turn. Next was the 2 mile long straight away, this was her most favorite part of the exam. Lightning Flash was especially noted her monstrous acceleration down straight lines and cloud alleys around school which help gain her cutie mark of a flashing lightning bolt. Besides, she was Lightning Dust's cousin by the way. The wind burst as Lightning's wings practically changed gears for these types of occasions causing her zoom by the rings of clouds at incredible speeds. Pretty soon the air began to squeal, hinting the approach of sound itself. Lightning grinded her teeth, and shutted her eyes as the wind froze her face sending a hum in her ear.

.............. BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

A big explosion erupted, obliterating the nearby clouds and knocking back the class as well. It was completely silent and her wings began to feel numb. This was the fastest Lightning Flash could go. But she wasn't concerned about that, she was more concerned about the amazement of her fellow classmates after that boom. Cockyness was completely controlling Lightning's mind now and all she care about this very instant was being known around cloudsdale and even around Equestria. Slowing down at the new corners near the end of the straight, Lightning began to show off performing tricks ponies thought only Rainbow Dash could do. It was near the end with lots of time to spare, even stopping at the finish line performing taunts. After long duration of Lightning's usual ignorance, She finally crossed the line.

"Thank you, Thank you." Lightning Bowed toward her classmates. "So pops, I'll be taking my certificate now." Lighting demanded the instructor holding her hoof out.

" Well it appears Little Girl that you won't be getting your certificrate." The instructor replied back

"Wait?.....WHAT??" Lightning yelled in confusion at her answer. "What was my time?"

"3:25.40"

"What are you talking about bro, and clearly passed the exam." Lightning replied furiously.

"Yeah.. you passed the exam, probably the fastest time I've ever seen. But you didn't wait for my command to go. Which makes you disqualified."

The class awed in surprise at Lightning's embarrassing result.

"Bro are you fuckin' serious, that's B S." Lightning bolted at the instructor

"No profanity is allowed at this school, missy, now go to the group where you belong."

"Fuck you man, Fuck all of you." Lightning waved away at the passing students and the teacher. Quick Breeze stood there in complete shock as she watch her only friend trot farther and farther away. Small Gossiping could be heard within the group of teenage mares, and colts, soon being interrupted by the teacher's speech on all of their success.

Down near the courtyard of the Flight School, far away on the other side of the building stood a group of grim looking students and a few cold looking security guards, dressed similar like the Ponies in Black, and completely emotionless.  Lightning was shocked in horror at the sight. She knew that her punishment would not be any kind of retest what so ever, but instead something way more dark in indeed.

Slowing descending onto the clouds, Lightning slowly approached the group not trying to be noticed. "Hey, Excuse me? Is this group w-"

"Where failed students of the Cloudsdale Flight School Exam Go? Yes, it is." One Guard replied monotonely.

Lightning looked quite terrified by the plain cold response and stern surroundings around looking blankly at her.

"I'm assuming you failed" one guard stated. Lightning, letting out sigh and nodded to the response.

"Then in that case, get in line. Stay silent until we dismiss." Lightning obeyed, getting into far back of the long line.

Gosh don't got to act so such like a flankhole." Lightning mummered under her breath. Lightning looked around

Moments passed since the group flew off cloud into the air.

"Where are we going?" Lightning asked in concern. Nopony answered....
