The stalking of shy (part 1)
THE young Pegasus started to fall asleep.
She started to get comfortable in her hotel bed, hearing the waves that were just across the road. Her friends were in other separate rooms in the hotel, she got the bottom floor and everyone else got higher rooms. Fluttershy wasn't that excited. She knew that friends were going to the local theme parks the next day, but she was worried. What if they get sick from going too fast on the rides? What if they got lost? What if? She had too many questions to ask herself. She calmed herself down, got comfortable and fell asleep, not forgetting that she had a mysterious job to do the next day. She knew that the job was caring for the animals at dreamworld... Right? That's at least what she thought, it could be an entirely different job: cleaner, tour guide, operator, lifeguard. The list goes on and on and little did she know, that the job could change her life forever and not in a good way...
"HOORAY! We are going to dreamworld! We are going to dreamworld!" Pinkie sang in happiness, as she drove everyone into annoyance with her repeated singing. "Pinkie, can't you just SHUT UP!?" Twilight yelled, as she drove the six-seated car through the highway. The amount of noise made Fluttershy uncomfortable. "Guys... Can you keep it down please... I can't stand the noise..." She asked, "of course we can keep it down, sweetie," Rarity replied, thinking that the question was centred on her. "Do we have to do this, i've got work to do at the orchard" Applejack complained, not looking forward to spending the day at some park. "Can't you just relax for once? Just this once, you can at least have a bit of fun?" Rainbow dash asked, rolling her eyes while she complained to her friend" "WE ARE HERE~" Twilight sparkle sang, as she parked the car near the entrance. Everybody got out of the car and looked around in ewe. They were amazed at what they saw, from the far right, the cyclone could be seen and from the left, the buzzsaw was in view, giving shivers down Fluttershy's spine. She hoped that the job didn't involve the very ride that she saw. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" Pinkie pie yelled, as she sped off in front. As they reached the entrance, Fluttershy saw a letter fly past her. She wondered what it would be, could it be a letter telling her what her job would be? There was only one way to find out. She opened the letter and gasped. On the letter wrote: "stay where you are, everything will be revealed. DON'T. MOVE. A. MUSCLE." She wondered why the letter told her to stay still, but she did so anyway, leaving her friends to walk off and leave her on her own. A few minutes later, she felt a stabbing pain around her left leg, she tried to turn around, but she collapsed and fell asleep. Someone had just shot her with a sleeping needle and she was induced in a deep sleep and might not wake up for at least an hour.
She woke up.
Fluttershy was behind a fence and could see an old wall in front for her. From the ceiling, little lights were on top and sinister music could be heard faintly. She wondered where she was and walked around to give herself clues to her mystery. Everything around her was old, almost like she went back in time. She could hear footsteps and they sounded like they were going to approach her. And they were. Where could she hide? There was no corner to hide in and the only place that looked like a hiding place was the right wall, and she soon hid behind it, putting her back against the wall. As she stayed put, Two ponies walked past. They both looked distressed, almost like they had being frightened but something way too many times. They both looked at Fluttershy, and screamed. They hollered and yelled in complete terror, as they ran off. She became confused. What were they afraid of? How could she be possibly scary? She looked around. Not a single scary thing was in sight. Fluttershy shrugged and waited for someone else to come and rescue her from this creepy place. But as the time went on she seemed to get no help at all, instead, it seemed like everyone was against her and she was the one everyone should avoid at all costs. Getting herself out of her situation seemed impossible and Fluttershy hoped that she wouldn't like this for too long. Her ear started to feel itchy, and she scratched it. Her hoof felt a bit different, almost like something was covering it. She looked at her hooves and screamed. She was covered in spots of blood and she a bloodstained waist-jacket strapped on herself. "WHAT'S GOING ON!?" She yelled to herself, as she saw a mirror that she didn't notice earlier and looked through. She felt faint, as she saw herself in the mirror. She looked like a murderous monster... Or worse, a mad, predatory ZOMBIE. She fainted and hoped that this nightmare would soon be over...
"Fluttershy, wake up! We got you out of there now!"
Rainbow dash yelled, as she slowly woke up. Fluttershy started to have a panic attack and couldn't control her rapid breathing. "STAY AWAY FROM MEEE! I DON'T DESERVE TO BE NEAR YOU ALL!!" She quickly backed off and Twilight sparkle frowned. "It's ok, everything is over! There is no need to be afraid now" she looked at her and smiled. Everything was finally over, "what happened to me? Where was I?" Everyone looked at each other and nodded. "Um, I'm afraid we might not be able to tell you, Fluttershy," Rarity replied, "you might have to wait until you find out for yourself" she frowned and gave a small smile. "Ok then" she said quitetly. "COME ON everybody! It's nearly closing time! It's almost time to go home!" Pinkie interrupted, as Twilight sparkle growled. "I know we need to go home, pinkie, can't you just wait a sec, please?" She asked and soon, Pinkie sat on the ground and stayed still. "Fluttershy, rarity has a point, we might not be able to tell you until later, ok?" Twilight asked, she slowly nodded. And soon, everyone went back home, before holding a massive party at the pool and spa room. They had bottles of soda, lots of balloons and lots of guests to spare. Everyone went inside, except for Fluttershy. She was sitting just outside the room, being the nervous wreck that she always was. Soon, a white unicorn with plaits on her hair and black freckles on her face bursted out of the room and ran out of the hallway. She soon came back with a packet of googles and then she stopped, noticing Fluttershy for the first time. "Oh! Um.. I didn't see you there... Are you ok?" Seaurora asked the young Pegasus "oh, um... I'm fine" Fluttershy said nervously. Soon, the unicorn sat down next to Fluttershy and the two soon noticed a few things about each over. "So, you are just as shy as I am?" Seaurora asked Fluttershy, "um... Yes" she replied. Seaurora paused for a moment and then asked a question, "I hear something bad happened to you today, Flutters," Fluttershy soon stepped back a little, and hid her face. "I d-d-don't want to t-t-talk about it..." She stuttered, as she started to shiver. "Aw, it's ok, I won't force you to, I know just how you feel," Seaurora smiled and hugged Fluttershy, making her feel better.
Everyone was preparing for bedtime and Fluttershy had already gotten ready to go to bed, so she was watching some documentaries on the discovery Channel, while waiting for everyone to finish their nightly chores. She was tired and was starting to fall asleep, but the repeating thought of being back behind a fence, looking like a monster, with blood all over herself, kept on keeping her awake. She tried to keep the thoughts out of her head, but they just kept on coming back. And during the night at some point, she fell asleep without knowing, but the noises she could hear from next door often woke her up. and all night long, she fell asleep and woke up repeatedly, until it was 7:00am in the morning. Rainbow dash soon bursted inside Fluttershy's room, giving her a fright. "Morning, flutters!" Rainbow yelled, "you can go back to dreamworld, or go and walk along the beach with Pinkie pie!" Fluttershy was happy, she would rather be extremely annoyed by Pinkie pie, then go back to that nightmare place again. "But..." Rainbow dash added, approaching her, "you have your job to do, so you're better of coming with me" Fluttershy frowned, she didn't want to go back and she never wanted to return. "But who would go with Pinkie then?" She asked, becoming concerned for one of her friends, "easy, Applejack will go, she didn't want to come anyway" Rainbow replied. Fluttershy knew she had to do as she was told, who knew what would happen if she missed out? She didn't want to find out. As she walked out of the room, another letter came past her and she picked it up and started reading. the letter said: "don't go without this, you might get some sense of this entire thing for once" Fluttershy felt something on her hoof, she recovered her hand from the letter and saw a small tablet that was taped to the paper. A small note was written in small letters near the tablet, it said: "this thing is not dangerous, it might benefit, but you might have to make sacrifices about what you think of the experience first" she soon ripped the tablet off the tape and swallowed it, soon catching up to Rainbow dash. Fluttershy had a nagging feeling that she was being watched while she read the letter and just maybe, she would be right, someone was watching her.
Someone she could not possibly trust once met...
"You can do this, you can do this" Fluttershy thought in her head, "I can't afford to think this whole experience is terrible... Right?" Her friends were approaching the gates and soon, she stood still. She had a feeling that she would get shot with some sleeping dart and soon, everything that happened yesterday would be repeated the very next day. Fluttershy felt the stabbing pain hit her again and was starting to black out, she could see her friends leave her behind, but before she completely blacked out, Twilight noticed her on the ground, and everyone rushed to her safety. Were her friends involved in this mystery? Were they the ones that gave her the tablet and often made her fall asleep? Twice? She couldn't answer, she couldn't answer no more, as she blacked out, forgetting her very thoughts that she had.
She woke up. Fluttershy was not behind a fence, but a wall, with a window in the middle. The space was more cramped and the window was stained, so you could barely see through it. She had the same clothes as she did yesterday and was still afraid of herself, as Fluttershy trembled as she looked at herself though the reflection on the window. She noticed that her eyes had red contact lenses. Fluttershy was so terrified of herself that she didn't notice her changed eye colour. She looked around and saw that her room was no ordinary room, it was like a laboratory, filled with large tanks and tables covered with paper articles and bottles filled with chemicals. Fluttershy could soon hear footsteps and she looked at herself, and felt a strange emotion, it was almost like she was... Not afraid at all, she had somehow thrown her fear of herself in this way out of the window. As the footsteps came closer, she smiled an evil smile, then waited for the unsuspecting victims to arrive. She hid underneath the window and listened and waited. Soon, they came. It was the same two ponies that passed her yesterday and then, she did something she would NEVER do to anyone ever: Fluttershy lunged at the window and then roared and gave the most sinister glare EVER.
The two ponies were terrified. They never had seen such a monster in their lives, they screamed. Real loud. And then they ran for their lives and probably never returned.
She kneeled back down and felt her heartbeat, it was fast and it felt good. Fluttershy had never done such a monstrous thing in her life, but it felt good. She wondered if she was influenced by the tablet that she ate earlier, or the fact that it was the only thing to do at this place. Besides, you basically do this stuff when you lose track of your body clock and don't know what time of day it is... Right? Fluttershy heard more footsteps and decided to do what she did earlier for the rest of the day. The more she scared and frightened ponies that were passing by, the more she felt like her shyness was going away. In fact, you could say that the tablet that she took was controlling her, making her more wild the longer the day went on. She started the lose memory of her friends being with her, she started to lose memory of how she was afraid of herself yesterday, and the longer she acted wild, the more memories she lost. Surely she must be losing her mind literally... Right? Fluttershy couldn't help it, the tablet was controlling her and things could only get worse when her very best friends pay a visit as the victims...
"Bet you can't get out of here first, Twilight" Rainbow dash smiled, daring Twilight sparkle to a race, seeing who could get out of this place first. "Are you sure we should be here?" Rarity asked, giving a concerned face. The three ponies, Twilight, Rainbow and Rarity, were walking down a run-down hallway. But it wasn't any ordinary run-down hallway, it had faded bloodstains crawling down the walls, windows for separate rooms, almost like an asylum, with a 'professor's laboratory' twist. Twilight was beginning to feel cautious, as nervous beads of sweat were running down her face. "Rainbow dash..." She began however, Rainbow dash looked like she saw a ghost and that something was right in front of them.
The beast had everything Fluttershy had: red eyes, bloodstained coat, a sinister glare that couldn't be unseen and a growl that made the three unsettled. The monster was a strong, muscled guy, with a screwdriver as his cutie-mark. Twilight, Rainbow and Rarity, soon huddled each other in fear. "Wh-wh-what is... That..." Rarity asked her friends, as her hoof trembled in fear and she pointed at the monster-of-sorts. "I think it's... Um... A... Er..." Twilight couldn't think of a suitable answer. Was it a zombie? Or was everyone in this place just insane and they just had bloodstains for some odd reason? She didn't know. "Twilight, just hurry up, say it's a zombie and get us out of here!" Rainbow dash moaned, as the zombie itself stared blankly in confusion. "well, what makes you say it's that?" Rarity protested and Rainbow looked at her with a scowl, simply replying, "i can tell, because he want's to FEAST ON OUR BLOOD!!" She screeched, pushing her head against Rarity's.
Twilight had the feeling that her friends were out of character, because they were scared and she was beginning to feel out of character too. "GUYS!!" She screeched, "just shut up and RUN!" And that's what Rarity and Rainbow did, following Twilight with the fear of seeing another monster quickly going at the back of their minds.
Fluttershy was awaiting her next victim, Unknown of her friend's whereabouts. She had her hand against the wall and her breathing was steady. Her ears soon caught the sound of running hooves, hammering against the concrete ground. Fluttershy gasped. She could hear some squeals of fright, and those squeals sounded like her friends Twilight, Rainbow and Rarity. Fluttershy's heart began to race and was beginning to smirk an evil smile. She could feel it inside her - her monster was yelling at her to ram herself on the window and scare her friends to death. Fluttershy tried to refuse, they were her friends, she would never do anything like this - ever. But she had to, the tablet she swallowed earlier had taken too much control over her and it was already too late.
Just as the three friends thought they had escaped all the terror, another one of those beasts they ran into earlier jumps out in front of them and makes them all scream in terror. "WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO US!?" Rarity yelled in fear, as her shivering was beginning to become uncontrollable, "I'm sure there's an explanation to this, now let's just keep going!" Twilight frowned. Rainbow dash didn't say a thing, as she was a stiff as a post with complete terror. The three soon approached a window, at the other side of the window was Fluttershy, who looked like she was ready to pounce. She soon rammed herself onto the window and she rammed so hard, it smashed into little pieces and she roared an undead roar. "GRRRAAAALLL" Fluttershy growled. Her friends soon screamed loud and hard and at that very moment, Fluttershy snapped out of her trance the tablet was putting her into and wailed in terror. She had just realised that she was so much of a monster, that not only did she smash the window, but probably gave her friends heart-attacks. Fluttershy stopped and looked at her friends and they looked at her back. "Tw-Tw-Twilight sparkle!?" She began, noticing for the first time that the place looked staged, almost as if the entire thing didn't happen in the first place. "What's going on here?" Fluttershy questioned, pulling a face on her friends. "Flutters... It's not what it looks like..." Twilight started, but by the time it all happened, it was all too late. Fluttershy soon had tears swelling up in her eyes, she jumped through the window and slowly walked off, clothes and all. "Fluttershy, we didn't mean to hurt your feelings!" Rainbow dash began, "go away! You guys set me up on... This thing... I don't you anymore!!" She cried as she ran through the maze all on her own. "But we didn't do anything" Rarity reminded Twilight, "of course we did all of this, she just saw it all wrong, it's time we told the truth to Fluttershy"...
