She's never been harsh to me: AnonXHarshwinny
The two ponies of the Games Committee shivered in fear as Mrs.Harshwinny's gaze focused upon them.
"I'll be blunt." Harshwinny said, looking at her clipboard. "I am NOT impressed. So far, I've seen no sense of decorum, atmosphere, or professionalism! I'm sorry, but I cannot, in good faith, give Trottingham the honor of hosting the Equestria Games."
"Please, Mrs.Harshwinny, we really want the honor for our city. Is there no way to change your mind?"
"I'm sorry, but no. There are already other candidates that are far more worthy. This is my final verdict."
She hated this part of the job. Telling hopeful committee members that their city would not be hosting the most prestigious competition in Equestria. She's done it so many times over the years that she's lost count. Trottingham was the last stop on her list. After reviewing several cities, she already had a choice in mind. She was hoping that Trottingham would be good enough to take the top spot, but that hope was now dashed.
In any case, she was glad that this was the final review site. Now she could finally go home to Manehattan...and be with her husband. God, she loved that man.
She wasn't foolish or ignorant of the way ponies thought of her and knew exactly how she was viewed. The politest of the phrases she heard about herself was "She's just professional.", but they often got much more crude. Some called her cold, others would say she's frigid, and the insult "bitch" came up often. She didn't do anything about it though. As much as she dislikes being called a bitch, she wasn't about to ruin her sense of professionalism over petty insults. She had an important job to do, and she had standards of excellence to uphold.
That wasn't to say that words didn't affect her. When all is said and done, if you were to catch her alone, you most likely see her with her head held low, eyes closed and sighing. If only the ponies who said those things knew how sensitive she was on the inside. Her outward appearance might be cold and disciplined, but on the inside...
But, there is a silver lining.
At the start of it all, when she was just beginning her job, the insults bothered her much more than they do now. Now, she has something that helps the sting...
She first met him four years ago. It was one year after the portal between Earth and Equestria was opened and official relations were formed. She just got done attending that years Equestria Games and was walking away from the stadium. She heard of the humans, but never really cared. Not for what they looked like, not their cultures or customs or their points of view.
Which was why she was so taken back when she first met HIM. As she walked from the stadium, her head low and eyes closed, she collided head first into something. Stumbling back, she opened her eyes to see two small trees.
Except they weren't trees...they were legs in pants.
Realizing that she had just walked into someone, she offered an apology. He did as well.
Turned out he was a photo journalist sent by some big magazine back on Earth to cover the Equestria games. They started talking and one thing lead to another...
And now, four years later, they were happily married. He was able to look past her cold exterior to see the sweet, lovable mare underneath. And while she might seem cold to everyone else, she always made sure he knew just how much she loved him. For him, she dropped her facade of discipline and professionalism and showed a sweet side that others most likely wouldn't believe existed. And now she was finally going back home.
Back to him...
It was a few days later and Mrs.Harshwinny stepped out of the carriage and unto the sidewalk of her apartment. She looked up and noticed that the window of her home had light pouring out of it. That meant that, more than likely, he was still up and waiting for her. She quickly made her way up the steps and reached the door to her home.
It was almost like a switch to her, moving under the arch of the doorway. Instantly, her usual stern expression...softened. A smile now graced her face.
"Sweetheart, I'm home!" She called. She suddenly heard footsteps coming her way.
"Honey!" Her husband quickly rushed over and pulled her up into his arms. She laughs in glee at being swept off her hooves. "I'm glad you're home!" He kisses her. She moans slightly, then deepens the kiss. "I take it you missed me?"
"Of course!" She exclaims.
"Well, then you're really gonna like what comes next."
"What do you mean?"
"Come and see for yourself." He set her down and motioned for her to follow him into the kitchen. She's surprised at what she sees.
The kitchen table is adorned with a deep red table cloth. There are several candles along its length and there are two clean plates at each end. It was really quite beautiful.
"What...what's all this?" She asks.
He smiles giddily and places a hand at the back of his head. "Well, when you told me that you were coming home, I decided to make a romantic dinner for the both of us to celebrate."
She looks at the scene before her. "It's beautiful, sweetheart."
"Only the best for you."
Harshwinny reared up on her hind legs and hugged his waist. "This is wonderful. Thank you, dear."
"You're welcome. Are you hungry?"
"I...am starving!"
He walked over to the table and pulled out her chair. When she was seated he went over to the stove and put the food on her plate. She looked down at the food and sighed in contentment. This man, this wonderful, loving man. For him and only him would she break her cold persona...and show the lovable mare underneath.
'Enjoy it while it lasts' She thought to herself. 'Because, in a few days, it's back to work. Which means back to being cold, frigid Mrs.Harshwinny.

When Harshwinny awoke the next morning, she instantly noticed the lack of warmth from her significant other. Rolling over, she noticed that her husband was not in their bed. She looked to the bathroom, but the door was wide open and he wasn't in there. Curious, she flicked her ears to gain some kind of clue. She heard noises coming from the kitchen, most likely him making breakfast. She sighed in relief. With the grand mystery having been solved, she rolled back over to see what time it was. She was shocked to learn that it was 11:36 a.m!
Goodness, she nearly slept in till noon! That is completely unprofessional behavior!
Harshwinny decided that enough was enough and hopped out of bed. She opened the door to the bedroom and stepped out into the kitchen. Anon was cooking something on the stove, so his back was turned and it seemed like he didn't notice her. A sly grin formed on her face. She walked over and pulled his boxers with her maw, then let go. The article of clothing gave a loud SNAP as it connected with his skin. He gave a slight yelp, then turned to see her giving him a smirk.
"Well, good morning to you too!" He said.
"Morning dear." She got up on her hind legs and gave him a hug.
Once their embrace was over, he returned to the stove. "You hungry?"
"Famished."
"It's just about done. I'll get you a plate."
While he went to one of their shelves and pulled a plate from the top, Harshwinny sat down in one of their kitchen chairs.
There was a moment of silence between them, with the only noise being whatever was sizzling on the stove top. She watched him work, stirring and mixing the food in the skillet. From what she could tell, it looked like scrambled eggs. She took a deep sniff. The smell of the food agitating her stomach and making her more aware of just how hungry she was. Her relief finally came when a plate was put in front of her on the table. Anon took the seat opposite her and put his own plate down.
They both began to eat.
The only sounds were the "Ting" of the silverware they used. This was one of the aspects of her marriage that Harshwinny enjoyed. In the past, quite a few of her past paramours complained that she didn't talk enough. But...Harshwinny just isn't a conversationalist.She really only speaks when she feels it's important, like stating information or giving signals. ( God damn you, Mr. The Dragon!)
And that's what makes her marriage to Anon work. He doesn't mind the quiet. To him, two souls who love each other need not use words. The two didn't need extensive conversation to be happy in the other's presence.
After the two were done with their meal, Anon took both plated and put them in the sink. The two then went to the couch in the living room and snuggled up next to each other. Anon turned on the T.V while Harshwinny read a book and the history of the Equestria Games. She looked over at the T.V and sighed. Apparently, about a century ago, humans decided that reading was too much of a strain and invented a machine to just show them stuff.(Humans! Why you no have discipline!?)
As she read, she thought back to her time at the last review site. She remembered all the snide remarks and nasty comments that ponies and people said about her when they thought she wasn't listening. She looked up at her husband.
"Dear..." she asked "am...I a bitch?"
He raised his eyebrow. "...I plead the fifth."
"Dear, please. Tell me."
"We've been over this before. You do have a certain...feel to you."
She sighs.
"But that doesn't matter to me. I've seen you at your warmest and sweetest. I know the REAL you. Why should it matter what anyone else thinks?"
"It shouldn't, but-"
"Who gives a fuck about what they think? The only person who's opinion should matter is mine. And I'm perfectly happy with who you are. Same goes for me too. The only one who's opinion matters to me...is you. So long as I have your love, the world can go fuck itself. Remember, no matter what anyone else says...I love you."
She wrapped her hooves around him and squeezed. She needed this, this confirmation. To know that she has someone in her corner, and with that, she's invincible to the words of others.
It was the next day. Two of Harshwinny's employees were talking near the faculty fridge.
"Ugh, I can't believe this! Mrs.Harshwinny only gave me till four. FOUR! I can't get everything ready in that amount of time!"
The other employee nodded her head. "Yeah, you're telling me. Last week, I forgot my papers in my office and had to go back and get them for a meeting. It only took me two minutes, but Harshwinny whined about it anyway. Like I caused some major catastrophe!"
"Man, she's such a bitch."
"That is where you're wrong." Said Harshwinny. Both employees turned to see their boss glaring at them. "I'm not just a bitch. I'm the QUEEN bitch. Now get back to work!"
