Chapters His history begins with little Screwballs desire for a brother....
Once upon a dark night Screwball was wishing for family, for her poor father Discord was
locked in stone. She felt so utterly useless to her father and utterly alone in causing chaos.
Walking upon the paths that normal ponies dare not walk she came upon a graveyard...or perhaps
better described as a mass grave.....the place where the rainbow factory discarded it's many victims.
"oooohhh you poor ponies" she moaned.
"Discarded like me and my father".
Her rage at finding them grew, for how can they justify using and discarding the ones they called
useless or harmful, and being so pretentious as to hide their sins.
"your like me aren't you?" she whispered to the unhearing corpses surrounding her.
"Hated and thrown away just because your different or don't suit their preference"
"they need to feel our pain...." she hissed in anger.
A sole tear fell down her cheek, she had never felt pity for others before.
"Daddy, must it be this way?" she cried....
Unto which She heard a low faraway voice, as if it were simply in her mind.
or the wind.
"No my dear child" Discord replied from his cold stone coffin.
"I may sow chaos, but chaos requires life. "I do not seek to see you so alone in your grief"
"Chaos grants life and gives opportunities too you'll see"
"So pick one corpse and bring it unto me".... upon this the winds became still and the voice died out.
Little Screwball began the huge task of sorting the rotted corpses, looking for one not to far decayed,
But not one that looked TOO fresh, or TOO friendly. She knew instinctively what she sought.
One that was malformed and twisted, one of no use to "normal" pony kind.
It took her weeks to find it, even as the bodies fell from the factory in a regular rhythm upon
her.
Finally one day, a few weeks later, nearly half into the putrid field of decay she found him....
A unicorn, grey/black from the life draining power of the factory, horn broken in half....
With one half developed skeletal wing, no sign of the other on his body, for it had never grown right.
"Daddy I feel his presence!" she exclaimed with glee.....But no answer came....
His body had survived fairly well in the pile and the maggots had not claimed it yet.
But it was heavy for such a small pony to carry.... Still she would not give up, Daddy Discord had told her
that if she wished a brother, then he must be brought unto him, and she would obey.
It was worth it after all, a brother who would be so strong! Who could protect her and bring chaos
unto Equestria with her and daddy discord.....what a dream....
and so she spent the nights of the following week dragging the corps to her daddy's statue.
Hiding in the day. After all if any pony saw her they would most likely report it to Celesta or at
least Twilight Sparkle. Finally she made it to the equestrian garden....to her daddy discord....she hid many times from the
royal guard, it was such a large corpse that she had many frights, but those foolish foals never saw
the rustling of bushes, or the body behind the trees. At last upon midnight, when Luna Held the moon
at it's highest she reached the statue of Discord.
"Daddy" she whispered, "I am here"..... but to no answer....
"Daddy" she quietly wept..... "I have done as you asked..." still the winds and her mind were
silent...
Little Screwball wept in despair.....maybe....MAYBE... the other ponies were right....
Maybe she really never did hear her daddy....MAYBE it WAS all in her head....
Then and only then in Equestria did the sky truly darken....no light of moon...not even a star
twinkled in the sky...
LAUGHTER.....not in her head but OUT LOUD could be heard far and wide..... even Celesta resting her
weary head trembled at the power drawing out of the chaotic pitch black night, but not stirring from
her rest. Maybe.....MAYBE princess Luna had a glimpse of the magic that was at hand... and if so...maybe
even she felt for poor little Screwball as to not intervene.... no pony knows....
"My little abomination.....how I love you" a distorted violent breeze howled.... "You would
defy the laws of nature as one born of chaos should" it cackled.... as the first ever Eclipse
of both moon and stars reached it's zenith, the large unicorn Colt's body began to quake and quiver....
blood seeped out in a lake of blackish red ichor, even Little Screwball squealed as her hooves
became drenched in the pool.
Cruel laughter range out in delight, "My little abomination are you scared of what you have done?"
the wind whispered as it wrapped her in a cold chill. The blood coursed towards the statue and began
pooling upwards as it it were raining upwards against gravity. "Daddy?" screwballs voice quivered in terror at the
sight as the blood became one with her fathers statue.
"Come now, you know I love you beyond all else, you are my daughter" the wind whispered, caressing her
with a cold chill and drops of coagulated black blood.
"Look, look unto your newly reborn brother...." the wind shrieked as a lance of pure black blood struck
the still quaking body burrowing into it's every orifice and wound.... then the light of the stars came back though the
moon was still black. In the dimmest of light Screwball saw the foal begin to breath.
though it's breath was labored and the blood all swept upon it almost drowning it's lungs,
it....HE....gurgled a coughed...a red glow emanating first from it's broken horn,
he laboriously stood up and the glow spread across his flanks. Where there was no cutie mark an ember red flash
appeared and blazed upon him a dark brown scroll with a black feather quill, a single darkend blood red drop upon it's tip.
"Sisss...*chough*... ter?" he rasped and coughed, looking at Screwball a little confused.
"Brother?" Screwball replied in crouched fearful questioning.
Slowly he approached, taking her quivering scared little body into his fore hooves in a tender embrace, replying "Yesss sister, It is I,
DarkSoulPony!"
The wind had settled into a warm comforting breeze.
Little Screwball relieved, wept in joy, and only Darksoulpony heard the whisper....
"Protect her or else......."
Darksoul had been living his new life with Screwball for a few weeks now, and it seemed natural to each of them that they were siblings. And though Darksoul was obviously older then Screwball they commonly played childish games together during the night and slept in screwballs poorly created mess of a house....It was chaos she replied the first time Darksoul asked about it. Strangely enough it had
two beds, Screwball for what ever reason never seemed lacking of what she needed and usually found
it with ease he noticed.
Screwballs favorite game was tag, for in her own words "I never lose to you nya nya nya
nyyyaaaa naaaa"
holding out her tongue and wiggling it at him every time she said it. Sometimes Darksoul laughed, but most often he pointed out that she was cheating by flying into the air (somehow without wings).One night Darksoul just didn't feel like playing, secretly even before
he had died he'd always wished to fly. Screwballs normally impish gazes turned to sadness, she saw her brother was sad. Landing beside him she nuzzled her way under his foreleg into a hug and asked
"Why can't you fly brother?" Darksoul couldn't help himself, he laughed at such a ludicrous question.
"Screwy can't you see I have only one wing....and even that too is malformed." he replied softly, wistfully. "Well I have no wings at all!" she replied looking indignant "So does that mean I shouldn't fly?" she pushed
"Well...ahhhh " Darksoul stammered caught off guard by a good question "Well are you a unicorn or a Pegasus?" she asked curiously. "A bit of both I suppose" he said thoughtfully looking at the stars. Then he shook his head and replied "and yet neither in the end."
"My mother was a Pegasus, and my father a unicorn, I remember that though the memories seem far away" he spoke to Screwball,
"Not your normal union I guess." he continued. "They had me, I don't remember my original name, but I remember my wings (if one could call a half wing such) were always this way, and my horn didn't used to be broken. I was lucky too for that I think....."
"Why" whispered Screwball. He chose his words carefully "Well...I think If I had only been a Pegasus I would have been discarded at birth, with only one wing and all.... But because my horn was proper and I showed the normal abilities of a unicorn I was put into magic school" it was hard for him to fully remember at this point but he continued his explanation as best he could.
"My parents were wonderful to me even though the kids weren't. I remember that much, so as short as my life was it still taught me the love of family."
"Ummmmmmm...." Screwball said quietly fidgeting beneath Darksouls leg. "What is it Screwy?"he asked with a comforting smile.
"Ummmmm....brother......I don't want to make you sad but..." she said looking at the ground whilst nervously playing with her tail.
"Ahhhhh I think I see." Darksoul said drawing her gently closer in his hug.
"Your curious how you found me in the pile. "She simply nodded tears welling up in her eyes. He wiped them away with his other hove and simply replied "I failed."
"What do you mean brother?" she asked eyes still trembling near tears. Darksoul pressed his cheek to hers in comfort and spoke quietly.
"I failed magic school, and was sent to the factory."
"THATS HORRIBLE!" shouted out Screwball in sudden anger.
Darksoul put a hove to Screwballs lips to quiet her and said with a smile "What happened there was indeed horrible, but my fate was not. Others hated or were disgusted by me anyways. But in death I gained the greatest thing!" he moved his hove away from her mouth seeing she had (an obvious) question...."What's that brother?"
"WHY YOU OF COURSE!" he shouted as he picked her up and in one fell swoop tossed her in the air catching her as fell laughing. "I gained my new family, and if my last life taught me anything, it's to put my family first!"
DarkSoul often dreamed.....or perhaps nightmared is a better descriptions. His dreams haunted by two ever
questioning embers. Always Staring at him, always asking dark questions that he couldn't answer,
always asking if he was worthy of protecting little Screwball....that one question in his dreams
was the only one that ever sent him soaring into the darkest sky, burning it into cinders the
glorious feeling of wind and fire under his wings.....he knew he MUST fly to REALLY protect
his little sister. Yet each night the wind haunted him in his dreams teasing his broken wing
and laughing at how pitiful he was.
Some nights.....SOME nights he heard Discord wondering loud upon the winds....."What does she see
in you?"
"Such a broken pony, whose body is twisted and does not know which way to go...."
DarkSoul would awake awash in sweat in his broken down bed, glance upon his sister and cry....
He was waste, the magic school knew it, the Pegasai knew it, and her father knew it.....
why was such a kind creature so blind.....had Discord cursed her so much.......was she so crazy
as to delude herself as to his worth?.....he quietly approached her bed and pulled her blanket down
to her feet from her head....
."silly filly" he thought, you always do things backwards....
his thoughts roamed for a bit, then he thought of it....she always does things backwards........
maybe.....just maybe he had some worth after all.....
He grinned having new inspiration.
The next day as they began breakfast, he asked Screwball,
"Sis, why do you think I could ever fly?" Grinning at her own ingenuity she replied,
"You have magic right?" DarkSoul thought about this trying to see it her way as he reluctantly replied
"Yes, Sooooo?" Screwball laughed
"Magic can do anything!" Darksoul agreed nodding his head though he still didn't
get what she saw so easily.....
"You have wings even if not complete, and you have incomplete magic"
she exclaimed......
"MY GOD" HE THOUGHT, getting her line of thought at last.....
"Brother, I don't know much, I've never been to school you see." Screwball explained, going extra slow because her own
thoughts raced so fast and were usually lost on most except her daddy.
"but if you take half of something and half of something else, you still get a whole!" He got it, DARKSOUL ACTULLY GOT IT,
her disconnected thoughts made absolute sense......
"Screwy.....help me tonight" he said excitement barley contained in his voice....
"WHAT, WHAT do you want me to do?" she asked.....
"I think i got an idea!" he nearly shouted and kissed her forehead.
That night DarkSoul felt excitement and fear, a mix of butterfly's in his stomach. Screwball
felt only concern it was as if her brother had become someone else, he was obsessed, consumed, and
she feared it was her own fault. The wind was strong that night, it seemed to swirl around both of them.
DarkSoul calmed her in the chilling breeze,
"it's an omen." He told her.
"You always shy away from telling me of my rebirth little sister, but I REMEBER the strong wind" he told her. It was if it was speaking to
him but it's whisper couldn't be heard. But he KNEW Screwball was on to something and this night was
perfect.
"brother?"
she asked the fear written even upon her crazy face.
"Yes?" he calmly asked.
"Promise me, PROMISE me you won't leave me alone...." she said unable to look upon him.
"Little Sister, I promise you this....I will NEVER hurt you...please trust me, If I go to far
say so and I will relent. I have no desire to make you cry!" he exclaimed. She weakly nodded.
Her acceptance given he began to use magic he barley understood, but it was a part of him and came
naturally.
First he concentrated on his one *good* wing, a bright fire red aura of chaotic magic
consuming it. The pain was near unbearable, but he could not let his little sister see it.
Red energy almost like fire burst forth from the broken wing, he held back a whimper, looking at
screwball and drawing what strength he could, small starbursts of energy coursing along where
feathers should be bursting into small filaments of magical light forming feathers replacing what was
missing and natural to any pegasai.
*Now the hard part* he thought to himself, he had always had the
base muscles, the ones that controlled wings, just not the right wing itself.....the fiery magic
burst forth from his right flank, and he couldn't hold back a scream as the red energy burst forth from
where a wing should be, it was as if the chaos storm emanating from the wound was reconstituting bone,
a slow drawing...."BROTHER STOP" Screwball Cried out! The magic dissipated instantly as promised....
"WHY" Darksoul wheezed a small amount of coagulated blood dripping from his mouth, he asked.
"Your bleeding brother" she squealed, her fear for her brother stopping any snarky reply he could think of.
she touched his flank and presented the black blood for him to see.....
"I'm sorry little screwy" he replied......
"lets go home and rest." she told him. He weakly agreed and allowed her to help him hobble
back to their home where upon he fell into a deep dream......
"So close weren't you......" HE chided. DarkSoul exclaimed
"Then why don't you help me?"
"And ruin such a great story? Come now You know me better then that! Chaos exists to improve life
now many ponies can't see it but you do, don't you? Life exists to create chaos and chaos perpetuates
life, it's a simple cycle, of pain, sorrow and strife......we all grow and have fun, just follow
the flow."
The dark dream of discord ended as most do.........DarkSoul sweating and never telling his
dear sister a word of it. How could he worry her mind when she idolized Discord.
"Brother I don't think you should try that again" Screwball told Darksoul in full seriousness.
"Well then he asked, how do YOU fly with no wings?" he asked Screwball.....Her Eyes swirled, she had
never been asked such a question.....
"I suppose it's part of my nature, what I am" she replied a
little confused.....
"Well BUCK IT ALL!" DarkSoul exclaimed, Kissing his sister upon her forehead.
I GET it! tonight I will have my wings! Screwballs swirly eyes rolled,
"Sure brother just don't kill yourself!" she exclaimed.
Together they went to the clearing near tag hill.
"Brother are you sure?" Screwball asked worriedly.
"Yes lil one, I am sure, just be here for me if I need you." to which Screwball weakly nodded
He began again,
His Breathing was so slow, and controlled he knew the order now in which to proceed,
First his right flank, the wing that never grew, slowly the magic seeped from a wound he did not feel,
Screwball hide her eyes, for she knew her brother would not back down at this point, the black blood
begin to seep, the chaotic whirlwind issued forth, but much more slowly and controlled,
blood seeped down his flank but it was as if it flowed like thick syrup,
slowly the red fiery magic drew the the outlines of knobby boned joints converging upon sharp tipped
edges and then the painful part began, Darksoul held back the tears at first as new swept magic sewed
magical tissue betwixt existing real bone and magical alike, like needles of yarn darting and weaving,
betwixt and between itself adding layer upon layer for new born feathers to implant them selves.
the pain reached it's climax as the weaving ended, and a twinkling began, but the spots of light exploded
into threads of extended pointed light, creating magical feathers.
Darksoul gasped as the process finished....leaving him with blazing red wings of near perfect
magic.
"BROTHER!" Screwball exclaimed unshileding her eyes from her legs. "You have WINGS!"
Darksoul shuddered in delight before falling unconscious his new found wings dissipating into thin air.
He awoke in a pool of black blood, poor little Screwball crying in concern for her brother. "Don't Die, don't
leave me alone!" she cried.... With what little strength the magic he had used left him with,
he took her into his hooves, proclaiming "Never....never my dear sister would I leave you alone...."
and fell into a deep slumber.
The next night Darksoul wanted to try again but screwball insisted he stay in bed
"Brother you need to heal" she scolded him.
"Awwww come on Screwy. The wound is already gone" Darksoul exclaimed flexing his right
shoulder muscles.
"That's because daddies magic courses through you blood" she proudly replied."
"I heal fast too but you need to still rest and eat well to replace the blood you lost. You push yourself too hard!" Her words
made sense and so Darksoul relented. Besides he did feel a little drained. As he rested he closely watched his sibling.
Then he noticed something about her that had been alluding his notice. There had been hints of it before, but before his
mind has always been preoccupied with other things.
Around her things! He was pretty sure she wasn't doing it on purpose either, it seemed to lack control.
She was preparing him breakfast, in a bowl on the counter one apple suddenly became three, she simply reached for one
and cut it into slices placing them into a salad bowl. As she sang mixed up songs to and occasionally spoke to herself
she seemed to not know where a desired ingredient was... and he saw that as she checked each cupboard and the pantry
the items would change..... at one point she put wilted lettuce in the salad not seeming to care and as she went back
to her hunt for another item it simply.....CHANGED, it became lush and green. Food, dishes, and even things that
didn't belong endlessly cycled the in the kitchens contents....when he thought of it he could never remember her once washing
a dish yet.....by next evening there were no dirty ones.
Darksoul had never watched his sister so intently before, and was caught awestruck by what he witnessed. It was subtle,
unconscious, IT was chaos weaving itself around her quietly.
"Screwy" he called out to her ""Em hmmm?" she replied caught up in
her preparation
"How is it that you fly?" he queried though he already had a guess.
"I dunno....I just do, I guess it's my nature."
'she doesn't fly!' he surmised to himself 'she simply goes where she wants.' he closed his eyes for a moment thinking of how
dangerous she would be if not for her innocent and childish nature.
"Sit up and eat!" she ordered with a smile. She hovered in front of him for a moment. her swirling green eyes never seeming to stop their motion.
"Thank you for breakfast" he told her as he sat up in bed and took the bowl and began to eat.
"Sister..." he continued questioning her as she sat next to him stealing a strawberry with an impish grin.
"Yesh?" she responded as she ate it.
"You told me once that you brought me to Discords statue right?" Her smile faded as she recalled that nights events
"Ye..yes" Screwballs voice trembled.
"Sorry screwy, it's just I had been wondering if anyone helped you." he explained gently petting her perpetually jumbled mane.
She leaned against his flank stealing what was now the last strawberry in the salad.
"No brother it was just me" Darksoul had already figured as much for he had never seen Screwball with anypony else.
'Such a journey!' he thought as he continued eating
'It must seem so natural to her, she was made from Discords power after all'
He gazed at her and smiled, she always seemed so small compared to him yet had brought his large body all that way.....
"It really is a lovely breakfast" he complimented to her, the light of a now fully risenmoon shining down on them both.
Unlike Screwball, Darksouls dreams of Discord left him in terror, and this night was no different. It began with the wind.... quiet at first.
Darksoul could swear by Celesta that he heard a voice..... He sat down on a field of corpses trying to ignore the stench....he needed to hear what the wind was saying..... He closed his eyes and tried even harder....."DarrrrrkSssssoulllllll." the wind whispered..
"What..What do you want ?" he stammered. "My sssssson, my ssssson. Why do you reject me." it asked. The voice seemed so familiar.
His eyes still shut he now tried to block out the howling wind and hear only the voice. LAUGHTER! Loud and sudden, a jolt of fear made the hair of Darksouls black mane stand on edge, his eyes opened wide and he coward down upon the corpse bed below his feet. Usually he couldn't run..... "Leave me alone." he barley squeaked out. Discord grinned red light from a blood moon shone off his one fang. "Why if I left you alone you'd be dead!" Discord exclaimed his miss formed body stretching straight as he laughed upwards towards the moon. Darksoul Bolted, hardly believing he had, Discords dragon like tale just missed in grabbing him by a fraction of a hove and wrapped upon itself. Discords voice chased him upon the wind at his back "Silly pony! Chaos is everywhere and so am I!" Discord chided him simply appearing in front of him laughing at such amusing prey.
"Besides you can't run away from yourself! Why don't you stop and reflect on that for a moment" Discord chuckled, as the world around Darksoul turned black. Their was nothing around him, nothing at all not even the ground of bodies. He floated in blackness...except.....suddenly he saw a mirror slowly floating towards him. he tried to run but his hooves sought no purchase in the void. As his gaze tried to avoid the mirror it just seemed to be anywhere he looked, so he simply looked to the bottom of it. He saw the familiar red glow of his magic almost looking like fire, it surrounded his hooves and legs except it was flecked with a million or so pinpoints of intense orange light twinkling like stars in his magical aura. at the base where each point laid his body mirrored the twinkle
with a red pinpoint glow his body seeming to be fully doused in the energy. He instinctively knew that the twinkles were not emanating out of his body, but were points at which his body was syphoning off his magic. Darksoul couldn't help himself his gaze wandered further upwards towards his one atrophied wing. He had never actually seen the product of his practice and gasped art the red magical wings he saw. Red semi-opaque feathers with magical energy swirling like small eddies of wind. He spread them out and was greeted with the glory of his handiwork, he saw the solid red right muscle he had woven for himself......they looked...like ACTUALE wings just of magic
Without thinking he looked towards his reflections gaze....Horror swept all rational thought from his mind. He tried to avert his eyes but was paralyzed, he couldn't even blink! He began frothing at the mouth, 'This this can't be!' his mind screamed. 'these are not my eyes!' Red burning embers stared into the darkest part of his soul and he could feel his reflections gaze prying at his mind. It began
to laugh "Well isn't this just delicious!" it said, Discords voice issuing from it's lips "Are you scared of yourself? Of what you are?" it questioned. the ponies flesh in the mirror pulled back on itself like a banana peel of bone and viscera revealing Discord within.
"Awwww phoey it looks like our time together is at an end, but it's been fun!" laughed at a confused Darksoul. "See you soon!" Discord
finished, waving as he turned and walked away from Darksoul.
"BROTHER, BROTHER!!!!" Screwball shouted shaking him as hard as she could..He awoke in a could sweat and choked on the saliva at the back of his throat. Coughing violently he sat up. "Screwy?" he half gurgled still coughing a bit. "Brother!" she wept tears of relief having been clearly panicked "You were breathing funny and kicking the wall sooo hard" she told him floating in the air and hugging his neck tightly. He looked towards where his back feet had been laying and saw he had almost kicked right through the houses corner post and wall, it had splintered and small rivets of moonlight could be seen upon the floor from the cracks. "What were you dreaming of?" she asked worried. He decided not to tell her about Discord and replied "I think it was myself" it was the truth after all....but the thought sent a shiver down his spine. 'How much of it was me.....' he could hear a great wind howling outside.
It was a rathier plain night, Darksoul was playing with Screwball. He had become better at hide and seek with her.
Now that he he knew what to look for. Before he could never find her, her natural talents hide her with ease.
But now he understood her nature, and so as well as she hide he looked for the simple clues.
He knew that anywhere she hide would slowly change dispite the fact that it hid her as she wanted.
He passed through the forest slowly observing every bush, every tree, every little badger hole.
as he drew towards a clearing he saw upon a hill that the flowers bloomed in the night sky.
They were vibrant and purple. Not like any other flower that bloomed nearby.
"MARCO" he called out. Screwball giggled nearby in a rustling bush upon a nearby hill where the trees opend their canopy.
"POLO" Screwball called out as quietly as she could...... but it was too easy, the purple blossoms rotated in a rainbow of
light.... he dashed up the hill to the long grass and purple flowers that bloomed from withen.
"Found you sister!" he shouted out laughing in the ease of which he spoted her.
"How did you find me so quickly?" she asked while pouting. "You gave youself away!" he exclaimed taking his sister in his arms and hugging her comfortingly.
"No really big bro....how did you spot me so quickly?" she asked.
He felt a forboding feeling and decided to dodge the question.
"It's this hill lil sis" theirs something special about it." he replyied.
"Well....." she hesitated. "Want to fly tonight?" she asked something in her knew he could.
"It does feel right dosen't it?" he answerd, feeling almost....enchanted.
Screwball simply replied by touching his nose, "Tag, your it!" she cried out and flew into the air.
Darksoul first concentrated, creating his magical wings with no effort.
He jumped and bounded to no avail.
"Brother you have to do better then that!" Screwball cried out laughing.
Secretly Darksoul was disipointed. he thought it would be easier then this.
He sat down and concentrated.
He rememberd the dream from before.
'Hmmmmm...maybe......' he thought and began concentrating on his hooves.
A red glow flowed from his broken horn, across his body and into his hooves.
he felt power envelope his stride, boosting his speed.
He ran up the hill and jumped towards Screwball. He came close and even jumped the hill side.
But fell down upon it's base. Screwball laughed at him innocently.
"You'll never get me that way!" she called out tauntingly.
The wind had picked up. The trees sang the song of leaves and shaking branches.
It cooled the sweat on his flanks, and it was as if the magic he used was calm and no longer concerned him.
"Ummm this breeze" Screwball said delightedly. He sat for a moment at the base of the hill and listend to it's whisper.
"Myyyyy SSssssooooonnnnn" he recoiled in fear at it's intonations. But looking upon his sister he saw only delight and pleasure.
It calmed his rapidly beating heart and he closed his eyes.
The wind seemed to intensify a little. pushing him towards the base of the hill. He imagined it pushing him upward and towards her.
The wind seemed no longer to push across but upwards, Sweeping beneath his wings and adding to their power.
A giggle escaped his lips though he did not notice.
"Here I come! he yelled at Screwball, once again running up the hill. Upon it's highest slope he jumeped in the air. Screwball laughed and dashed further away exclaiming "You'll never catch me!" A strong gust blew at the apex of his gallop, his wings spread wide and he took off from the ground. Screwballs jaw dropped and she squealed "BROTHER! YOUR FLYING!" Darksoul still had his eyes closed.
He opened them and was amazed. He was in the air! Anoughter giggle exscaped his lips (that he did not notice). He darted past his sister patting her rump "tag, your turn!" he cried out.
Screwball burst into laughter. "Brother, your too fast!" she cried as he darted past her, only a blur of greay and black and firey red.
Darksoul tried to slow down, only to flounder in the air and he fell.
It hurt to hit the ground but he didn't care. Screwball flew to him several feet away and hugged him tightly around his neck.
"You flew brother!" she cried out in excitement. "You did it!" he nuzzled her gently and she pressed her nose to his leg.
"I knew you would." she said
He had no words for her, so happy in this moment. he just held her tightly, and listenend to the wind.
Darksoul diligently practiced his flying over the next few nights.
Being ever so cautious as to avoid being seen. He usually stuck below the tree line.
He could now create a pair of wings almost without thought. Still he found it difficult to take off,
and needed control the wind to give him enough lift. The wind was not a power of his own magic,
and every time he channeled it it, he felt a wave of chaos. The tides of insanity seemed to swell around him, seeking
control, drowning what rational thought he held. But his practice yielded him power, and he only required a small controllable breeze In order to take flight.. It was still a dark rising, a wave of insanity that drowned his rational mind, but his practice made it easier,
each night he found the breeze and flew easier. His fortified mind fell easier into the winds of insanity, and he flew faster then any pegasai with perfect wings. Needing only a small gust to launch himself into the air.
One night after playing ( and purposely losing) both tag and many races with his beloved sister, Darksoul felt more ambitious.
He wished to see the Everfree forest from the sky. To feel the clouds and their cool wind against his flanks. The air grew thin as he rose. But Darksoul was determined to fly. 'It'll be ok" he thought to himself 'With a little wind I will rise' he concentrated on his breathing and did his best to remain calm. He could almost make out the words seductively whispered within it's sweet undertone of erractic currents as he meditated on it. 'Speak up' he whispered back to it and the wind grew steady, flowing more consistently and with more a little power. Somewhere on the horizon of his thoughts he could hear a speck of irrational laughter beginning to build up. Calmly with controlled focus he pushed it back into his subconscious while thinking of deep calming breaths of the pure clean air.
His body suddenly felt cool and damp. Darksoul opened his eyes and was surprised. Although he was only gently flapping he had summoned so much wind that he had already ascended into the lower clouds. Grinning like a young foal, Darksoul marveled at how the light emanating from his spells lit up the cloud cover surrounding him. 'I wonder if Screwy is seeing this?' he thought. The cumuli-nimbi he flew in looked as if it were alight with brimstone and fire. Darksoul became so caught up in the beauty and wonder of the moment that he failed to even notice he was laughing.......
The pegasai knights had been on alert for the last three nights. Celestia had assigned alternating shifts to Silver manes unit. They were to patrol near pony Ville and watch for anything or anypony that seemed odd. Celestia had felt something of late that she could not explain to them. It was like Discords chaos in the darkness, but Discord was still a statue in the garden. A pleasing memento to all ponies who valued order. Now Celestia knew that she had duties to raise the sun, and as her sister was banished her burden was doubled with raising the moon at night. So it fell to her most trusted Silver mane to be his princess's eyes in the night.
Flying high he performed slow lazy circles around pony Ville to maintain his strength, ever vigilant. He scanned the horizon from every angle he perceived. His hawk like vision watching all ponies that were not asleep. As his patrol brought him close to the ever free forest He saw something from the corner of his vision. He slowly angled towards it, watching closely. At first glance he failed to notice what had caught his eye. Scanning the sky he even thought he had imagined it. But as he flew circling the parameter of pony Ville a cloud lit up. It burnt as if lit with fire and ashes. It appeared as if the sky there was on fire. A bolt of red burning light dived from cloud to cloud, burning up the sky. 'Is it a dragon' he thought to himself disbelieving his own sight.
Silver Mane flew towards it at full speed. It was certainly a bright display for dragons were very rare in Equestria. He decided to investigate (a folly for sure.). As he drew close he felt the air buffet his large body from each direction at random. So Certain he was of
finding Celestica's forbearing that he negletedted the thought of the chaos he beheld. Silver mane was only slightly unnerved as he beheld the creatures incessant laughter. It howled in delight of burning the sky. Clearly the thing he beheld was insane.
Rapidly it darted, from cloud to cloud, and in brief moments Silver Mane saw it clearly. His well honed scouting training aided him to fully see a pale pony, it was as if a moment was frozen, a shiver passed down his spine. Draw dropping for he saw but what could only be described as a god. It was an Alicorn, but yet it wasn't, for it was flawed. He saw a unicorn but horn broken, with wings made of magic. But such magic was not possible! It had a warped lone left wing, magic jutting forth. Pegasai red feathers edged like razors completed it's form. It was a sick looking thing with a black/grey mane and tail as if it had been from the grave. Scars littered it's flanks
and it's hooves were yellowed brown as if decayed but they glowed with a burning red aura.
Now Silver Mane was one of the fastest in his unit. He had always been proud of that fact. But as the 'Daemon Horse' (as Silver manes mind thought of it) darted so did the wind. Silver Mane barly had the time to notice this little change. The 'Daemon Horse' had stopped suddenly noticing his presence. Silver Mane felt a sudden surge of adrenalin aided by immense fear. The 'Daemon horse' looked almost as surprised as him. His heart skipped a beat as he tried to think of what to do. Their gazes locked and he froze.
His body decided for him, and he ran upon the wind. He remembered two pupils that burned with the brightness of the sun.
That gaze burnt it's visage upon his psych as the 'daemon horse' laughed manically. It's deadly intent written upon it's evil grin.
Silver Mane ran, fleeing and certain he was no match for this monster.
Outdistancing thee maniacal pony behind him, a strange large gale pushed him back. He only heard howling wind and laughter.
"I can't let you get away" he herd the storm say. "No,no, none can know what you've seen this day!" He knew it was the 'daemon horse'
say.in a chilling sing-song way. Silver Mane knew that the wind slowing him was unnatural, and he knew that it was the pony who chased him that commanded it. His pursurer was rapidly gaining on him and he knew his fate was tied to this nights flight.
He flew faster then he ever had, even Rainbowdash would have been jealous. He dove hard and fast, trying to gain speed as well as distance. But the wind seemed to reverse itself, instead impeding his descent. It howled like a hurricane, and pushed him upwards and when he had surrendered to it, it reversed itself and pushed him back toward the earth. Spreading his wings as wide as he could he tried to slow his decent, but to no avail. Instead the great storm pushed him harder, "SNAP' A WINGTIP broke, CRACKLE and POP his wings folded in wounded agony as the ground approached quickly the air pressure around him sucking the air from his screams. A fist of pressure wrapped itself around him and burrowed into the awaiting ground below. A crater formed in the area of his decent so
great was the impact, armore crumpling as if it were only tin. A final gurgle escaped his lips as the crater he made filled beyond his ruptured body with blood. With it's vile magic receding Darksoul spat upon the grave " Pitiful Pegasus" . His Head leaned back towards to dark night, Darksoul looked upon the stars as lunatic laughter filled the sky!
"this my boy is one of my best works. The seeds of discord ran so deep it was like a drink of fresh choclet milk." Discord Narrated.
"I had everypony turning on each other on the simplest fear!" Discord laughed amused at his own horror. "It was the great pony wars, well before those meddlers Celestia and luna appeared. One of my first memories. Now back then your little augmentation magic's were commonplace, they hadn't been banned in fact it was encouraged. as well as was weapon magic and conjuration magic.
The scene Darksoul witnessed had changed from a battle field of warring tribes unto a battle of two unicorn sages. Their pegisai knights and earth ponies clashed around them in bloody combat and death screams rang up around the two unhearing unicorns as they battled.
Swords clashed and skulls cracked as two massive armies clashed. In the center the two unicorns cast horrable spells of fire and lightning, of ice and wind. Their concentration so great that they failed to notice their own armies falling in the fallout. Hooves glowed bright of magical energies creating talons and claws as they grappled with each other trying to gain advantage. Horns elongated into great swords as they dueled each other. Blood swelled upon their flanks and fell in a pool joining the dead around them each striking blow upon blow upon open flank. One would raise a shield to deflect the oncoming ball of fire or lighting or acid that the other cast. Whilst still seeking an opening to inflict a death blow to the other. One the darkest of black suddenly surgerd betwixt the barrage his now edged horn finding the soft flesh of the defending sage and piercing the light greys heart, blood flowing down his horn he let out a guttural neigh and bucked high into the night. Thus Signaling his opponents defeat. The defeated sages army fled upon their masters death only to be quickly hunted down and slayed.
"Oooooh such glory days!" Discord reminisced. "Wait tho I've gotten all turned around haven't I?" discord asked. "You asked why? Well why not?" he said answering himself in laughter. Darksoul did not speak, he just took in the vision and was beheld in horrer.
"Now during this time there was a sect of ponies who held themselves apart from the violence." Discord explained. "They lived and
breathed to help other ponies in need. They came from sages who sought to be more, they sough to be gods, to be alicorns." Upon such a thought Discord found much mirth. "Of course wiser beings as you and me know they failed. But still they tried. They became known as the cursed. Their magic and origin twisting and warping their bodies. They had all the qualities of earth, pegasai, and unicorn
all in one body. But no regular pony is meant to have that power and so like their magic their bodies became twisted." Discord laughed in amusement at such a foolish notion. So they practiced magic that would make them whole and as such became knowen as great healers across the newly war-torn Equesria. But always their bodies were deformed and were despised." Discord looked pointedly at Darksoul upon that sentence.
"Now their settlement was small, maybe 20 or only up to 30 strong. But throughout the war they were left alone. Armies of 10,000 ponies or more had fallen to them when they were assaulted, and all tales from the survivors spoke of undying warriors. It didn't take long for kings and queens of empires to beg them for help. Normally they refused. But a great and kind Earth pony king begged for their assistance and the chieftain of the settlement had had a new foal. Seeing this king as an end of the war and as a great king, the chieftain of the healers granted him a great blessing. 'Take my foal and my blessing, take him and teach him kindness like you show to your enemies.' The chieftain told him in confidence. Earthlord agreed without hesitance and promised he would make a hero out of the young foal." Discord giggled in anticipation of his own tales twisted ending. Darksoul just beheald it captivated but dreading it's ending.
Now the Earthlord was a very kind and just pony, everytown he took was granted the rights of freedom, and they were free to do as they pleased so long as it didn't hinder his war effort. Nor did he demand all able bodies like other warlords did. Nor did he demand tithe. His only demand was peace with his nation. As such he gained great power and following, and his army swelled with all three races. The young foal he was granted was very skilled at healing, being able to heal his armies in days. No one knows the foals name but he made the Earthlord even greater, his armies healed withen a suns dawn. Earthlord in his turn took the young foal and put him under his unicorn sages. The foal devoured all they could teach him, learning in days what would take years of teaching. The foal was soon granted the title of general. Each conquest the Earthloard took in new lands cost him less and less of his army, the now colt aiding his strategy till the point that there was no strategy, attack, conquer, repeat. The Earthlord so pleased with his adopted sun an pupil offerd up his own daughter for marriage, for he knew that they had been in an affiare, the colt trying to hide it, and his daughter rejecting all offers of marriage. The Earthlord wept when he announced their union, for so happy was his adopted sun and his blood daughter. He knew it was ment to be.
"Now for the chaos" Discord interrupted the vison gleefully.
Fire Erupted in the capitol, the army of "purists" blazed into the night. There had always been a small segment that had despised the "deformed" prince and now it had erupted upon the wedding night. Earthlord himself was fighting off the remnants of the generals who disproved of the "deformed" princes appointment as the new heir. Their armies stormed the castle, laying waste to all living souls.
Princess Terra begged the colt, "Please save my father they will kill him without you!" "But.......my love you need me here to protect you." the colt replied "I need you both!" Terra said. The colt had no reply, it was his lovers command. He set out towards the throne room.
His way was blocked of course, but his magic easily destroyed the guards, for pegisai cannot stand up to the magic of fire and lightning he had been taught , upon the stair well foolish earth ponies tried to stop him, only to be pressed against the walls by the very stones of the tower itself crushing them into pulp. The colt enterd into the throne room, surrounded by darkness, his horn the only light.
A dark armored pegusai had the Earthlord pressed upon the floor, slowly stealing his breath. "Let my father go!" the colt said, his stare a burning beam. Morte Mare of the next nation laughed as he pressed upon EarthLoards throaght. "What can you do little foal?" he asked laughing for the colt before him was at best half his size. Seeing his adopted fathers eyes roll as he lay dying the young colt spoke simply. "Let my father go." The dark black armored pony laughed at him "What can a freak like you do?" pressing his hooves down tighter on the Earthloards throat. The world went black for the colt, for he only saw danger to one who loved him.
The colt began a cursed magic, one his kind was never to do, but he didn't even think nor care about it. He approached the dark armored figure offering one last chance. "Let him go or you WILL DIE." he spoke calmly. The invader laughed "What can a broken pony like you do?" it asked. The pony in black armore froze cluthing it's cheast in pain. "I gave you one chance" the colt said. Fear griped the invaders eyes as it felt......SOMETHING stop. The colt walked camly over to Earthlord are you okay he asked? The armord pony fell over and siliva spilled out of it's mouth. "Thank you my son" Earthpony replied as his attaker fell down his heart having stoped. "How is the rest of the empire?" Earthlord asked
The young Colt Had saved his king as his princess asked, but the town below burned, and he had to find her.
"Thank you my son, but where is my queen and daughter?: Earthlord asked the young foal. The colt was terrified at such a question, "She wanted me to save you my lord." he replied. "I..........But what of my daughter?" Earthlord gasped.
Too which they both desperately dashed down the castle staircase. Only to find fighting. The Colt once again drawing upon
forbidden magic took the souls of enemy fighters. "Where is my beloved Terra?" he despretly asked the surviving gaurds
"I'm sorry my lord but she fell asking for peace" the guard replied pointing down the stairs.
The colt felt nothing.
He proceded down the stairs to the courtroom where fighting still resumed.
Beyond the soldiers of Earthloards army fighting with the insurgents, he saw her laying there.
Blood upon her side. Time slowed down for him as he rushed to her fallen side.
No breath, no heart beat. Time stood still for one second as he held her lifelessly to his side.
Now There were certain magics. Magics that his kind forbade. But in this instance of pain.
This one moment. The Floodgates opened wide. He welcomed death, and to him death beckoned
Rage was limitless, and this young innocent, and caring colt KNEW rage,
Some know his kinds magic as life itself, but in this instance, NECROMANCY was born!
He threw his very soul into every spell that was weaved in that terrible moment.
Corpses of both sides rose up, not just in the castle but all within the kingdom, they fought with fiery eyes
the invaders and villagers alike fled, and there was no asylum his army killed indiscriminately. The only
certain thing for any who died was this insane colts cries. Three nights of bloodshed each night the Earthlord
begged him to stop but to no avail. The Earthlord threw himself at him finely but the young colt simply dispatched him
with a wave of his hoove sucking his soul out on the final night. "ALL MUST FEEL THE PAIN OF MY BELOVED" the young colt
cackled. And so the CORPSE LORD was born.
One week later.
Darksoulpony was walking through the Everfree forest as he had become accustomed to in the days
since he awoke from his dream. Screwball would always ask to accompany him but he would always tell
her he needed some alone time to think to which she would scowl at him with a slightly worried look.
"Ever since your last nightmare brother you spend too much time alone." "Nah I'm alright I just need
to sort my thoughts." He would reply ruffling her mane tenderly.
He would always walk to the rock he had hidden the soldiers body under and contemplate Discords
words and his previous dream as he sat staring at the stark reminder of his own dark actions.
Suddenly he heard voices drawing near and darted to the thicker bushes. Two ponies entered the
clearing. One was Purple with dark red mane and tail, a husky female earth pony. The other was a
tall and slender Wisend old unicorn. She had ocean blue skin with sky blue and white hair.
"Do you think we'll find him tonight?" the earth pony asked. "I feel we'll find something, but I
fear what it is Purpleplum." The unicorn answered. "I know Silver Mane well, he once tried to court
me you know" The unicorn winked slyly at Purpleplum. Then in a saddened voice added "He would never
skip his knightly duties and not report in, his honor was to great he would always report in even
when injured." "I'm sure he's alright" the earth pony said cheerfully. To which the unicorn only slowly
shook her head. "I fear the worst young one."
Darksoul was both saddened and scared by the unicorns words and slowly crept backwards...CRUNCH!!!
the log behind him must've been dry and rotted for as he backed up upon it it's carapace gave out and
insects scattered from it. The two ponies heads immediately shot up looking towards the loud sound
"who's there?!?" the unicorn demanded to which the only answer was the dashing of Darksouls hooves.
'BUCK it all!' he thought to himself as he ran looking up to the thick canopy over his head.
'Can't fly though that!' he knew he heard galloping closing in on him and wondered how his pursuer
could be managing the thick bushes and trees so easily as to over take him. The answer came quickly
as the thicket beside him opened up as if by magic.
Darksoul shook his head 'Of course it was magic, that Celestia damned unicorn!' The earth pony looked
at him shouting "stop right there!" Thick canopy or no he knew he couldn't out run the very fit earth
pony. Purpleplum gasped as he sprouted his wings almost instantly and took off crashing through the
branches. "Azure it's flying! Squealed Purpleplum. Almost as soon as the words came out of her mouth
Darksoul suddenly felt stuck in the air, a sky-blue glow emanated around him and he was pulled back
down through the hole in the trees he had made (with a great deal of pain!).
The earth filly sat looking at him awestruck as he slowly touched the ground. Azure slowly walked up
through the now spread bushes. "Well what have we here she crooned as she looked at his magic emanating
from his body. Darksoul tried to struggle, tried to break free or even move in anyway but her powerful
magic held him firm. As she drew close enough for her old eyes to see him clearly Azure gasped.
"But....but....this is imposable!" "What is?" Purpleplum inquired "Plum, be on guard, this pony should
not be here.....not even be alive!" to which order the filly stood up straight and eyed him warily.
"Not...be...alive?" Purpleplum asked her voice quivering. Darksoul was becoming scared desperately wanting
to escape these two. "Yes my dear, we debated it for weeks and in the end Celestia personally ordered and
over saw his....euthinization. He was judged to dangerous." Darksouls ears perked up on that last one.
He closed his eyes and asked the wind 'Did you hear that....' to which a breeze came forward as if to
acknowledge what the unicorn just said.
A grim sneer ran across his mouth "You said WE." he stated to the unicorn looking her in the eyes with
a deadly glare. Azure jumped back startled by his words. "Yes" she told him "And you can speak...so obviously
your more then someponies experiment." she glared back at him. "Well then I guess this makes this a lot easier
for me he chuckled. The earth around them began to shake as the wind now howled as if in anger.
The violent barrage from above and below them knocked them down and the unicorns magic sputtered out.
Violent intent had changed the magic that gave his hooves speed and claws emerged as he menacingly
approached the unicorn. WHACK! a sudden blow to his flank sent him into the nearest tree, his ribs cracked
with the impact. He had been so intent on the unicorn he had forgotten the earth pony, her blow
was the powerful and precise the kick of a farm mare used to hard labor. He laughed delighted at the challenge
as he stood up. The Bluish glow once again surrounded him trying to subdue him. But he simply floated as
he had seen Screwy do with ease towards the two. Purpleplum had helped the old mare up and was by her side head
low ready to charge once more. "What do we do Azure?" she shouted in fear. "Fight my child, Celestia
was right, he can't be allowed to live!" Darksoul howled with laughter "And where is your precious Tia now?
She can't help you!" Azures hooves were pressed hard into the ground skidding backward for every inch he floated
closer. Purpleplum dashed forwards spinning at last moment to buck him once more, Darksoul couldn't move in the
magic but he didn't need to, a loud splintering could be heard from above as a tree trunk fell directly into her
kick, the trunk exploded with the force of her impact but it was mid-kick and unexpected she screamed
out in pain as one of her legs broke. Darksoul giggled. "You know in the old days I hear they'd put
down a pony with a broken leg, no use in healing the fodder you sssee!" he hissed tormenting at her.
Purpleplum stood up bravely looking at him defiantly. "They would heal me, I won't let you win! she shouted
and bucked at him again with her broken leg. Even with the reduced force, and even though the pain was clearly near
unbearable she connected hard and Darksoul once again collided with anougther tree. Darksoul was stunned for just a second
and was whipped by Azures magic even harder into the third tree. Blood ran down his face black and sticky as his skull
fractured with one clear eye he saw the earth pony charge him.
It was a mistake, there was too much distance between him and Purpleplum, a powerful burst of air exploded from behind
Azure and threw her into Purpleplums path. They fell to the ground entangled with each other. Darksoul
charged forward dashing into the air, his claws raked across Purpleplum and a cascade of crimson sprouted
from the deep wound in her neck. "Purple!" Azure screeched fear now clearly etched on her face as
she was doused in her young friends blood.
"You know that rock in the clearing?" Darksoul asked delighted in her fear. Azure stood up pushing
her now dead companions body off as it leaked blood across the forest floor. "No it seems new to me
now that I think of it." she replied readying herself and her next attack. "Well... under that...
is where you'll find loverpony!" exclaimed Darksoul nearly gasping for breath with all his laughter.
Now Combat magic is not actively taught, at least not to anypony Celestia does not fully trust to wield
it. So it came as a surprise to Darksoul when a bolt of lightning struck at him emanating from the
unicorns horn. The flash was blinding and he felt his knees go weak. A second bolt made his body slump.
"You....you....MONSTER!" Azure screamed at him. If not for his own natural magic, if not for the black
blood and chaos coursing through his veins he would've died on the third bolt, any normal pony would have.
Instead he knew where she was standing from her raving angry words. He stood up as she called him a coward
and struck him a forth time. A sudden gurgle, then a muffled whimper, then...THUD. As his vision cleared he
saw he had struck correctly. Azures body had hit the ground at an odd angle. This was probably due to the
earthen spike that held her impaled head still just above the ground. He collapsed tired but still giggling to
himself as the warm wind carresed his damp flanks. The blackness of sleep consumed him.
Four days later.
Darksoul awoke, he was at home, Screwball was fidgiting with her tail, looking intently at him
and his bed. When she saw his eyes open she practicly leapt at him. "Brother! your awake!" she exclaimed
delighted. Darksoul felt his throat nearly crushed in her embrace. Cough...."screwy...too tight!" he cried
Screwball released her hug in a worried frenzy. Screwball now looked mad at him. "you scared the Luna out
of me!" she cried. Darksoul laughed so hard it nearly brought tears to his eyes. "Lil one I'm stronger then
that don't be afraid!" he declaired. "But you had two ponies bodies near you, what happend brother?!?
Screwball asked worried. "I......I..I had an encounter, but I handeld it lil one" he replied weakly smiling
In truth he barly rememberd, but what he could recall scared him.
"Why were they dead? How were you so injured?" Screwball pressed. "I...they...." he sighed.
Screwy you raised me right?" he asked. To which she hesitantly answerd ".....yes."
"Well the unicorn knew I was dead....or supposed to be." He answerd.
"Well what happend?" screwy asked. "Well, she didn't take kindly to my being alive." he answerd
"Thats NOT FAIR!" screwball cried out. "Your my brother, your the best thing ever!"
Darksoul shuddered as she continued "She deserved her fate!" "little one, I am....Unnatural, if
I'm found....he trailed off. "Then we will deal with them!" she exclaimed determinedly. Her response
even brought a chill to his own spine. "I dealt with the bodies brother" she stated. Darksoul did not have it
in him to ask what his little sister had done. Screwball confidently told him how Discord had instructed her
to take of the "problem" and how she had hidden it. "How did you get me back here?" he inquired,
Her small body could not hope to carry his bulk, yet here he was in his own bed at home. "I carried you
home and you have been asleep for three nights." she told him to his own surprise.
'How the buck?!?' he thought. How did such a little pony carry him?!? Not once but twice! "sister..." he
started. "How is it you can carry me?" His mind reeled at the possibilities.
"Well your pretty heavy but how could I leave you there wounded? "Any good sister wouldn't leave you alone
and by yourself!" she replied! Darksoul was left astounded. He was at least twice her size. Even knowing
what he had seen of her that would be a monumental task. "I.....thank you screwy...." he trailed off.
Screwball simply hugged him tight again and responded "Your always there for me brother, so I will always be
there for you."
Darksoul smiled. "I think your there for me more often then I can repay." he stated. "You just have to be her now
brother, It's nice to not be alone again." Screwball told him, her sad look made Darksoul wonder how long she

for her. "Screwy......" was all he could muster as he drew her tight in his hug, he would die a million times
just to see her smile once. It was a simple truth but it was still the truth....
Fatherly wisdom and a dark soul
The dark landscape of blood and bodies called to him. He only desired to see his sister safe, but always in his dream it brought him back to a bed of corpses. Death was a smell he knew well, and it never repulsed him. It was as if the bodies were necter and he was but a bee. He would collect the nectar of their pain and bring honey to there undead lives. "Where am I?" Darksoul cried out to the dark night.
"A better question is who are you" the reply came to him mockingly. It was a famililer voice that haunted his soul.
"I guess that since I have come back you are my father?" Darksoul queried as Discord appeared upon his dream.
"Why indeed I am, and so proud of you my son. Never In my or your dreams could I have foreseen your surrender. You've given in to chaos and made me proud." Discord replied chuckling.
"I never surrendered!" Darksoul declared. "I only lost control!" to which Discord burst out into a great gleeful mirth.
"BAH, it's the same thing my son, chaos is in all of us and cannot be controlled, it's what makes it so much FUN!" discord declaired with glee. "There's always a surprise, and so far your my favorite one!" Discord said his gaze narrowing directly on Darksoul menicenlingy .
The small amount of fear left in Darksoul as sheer anger took over, his magic of augumentation burst forth without summoning, and magic spew forth from his horn in a fountain of rage. His anger grew as did his horn, becoming a razor fine tipped rapier of burning red light, Darksoul charged forward intent upon impaling discord upon it. "You MADE ME! I HATE YOU" Darksoul shouted challenging the great behemoth before him, only to be easily batted away with upon Discords Taloned hand. Discord Laughed upon his effort "Silly pony, I didn't make you, I only bequifed you new life". Darksoul Trembled and wept upon the truth of Discords words. "Nooo, it's not true, I'm not a monster." Darksoul sobbed.
Discord chuckled patting Darksoul upon his head. "My son, look at you. Just a moment before you were trying to run me through! Why I beleave your more passive-aggressive then Fluttershy.....well at least the aggressive part anyhow." The pointed truth behind Discords words rang in Darksouls head sapping his angered strength and stealing away his desire to fight. "Why...why...why did I?" Darksoul asked of himself burying his face in hooves.
Discord sighed "Well this is becoming rather tedious and dreary." he said with a yawn. "Here to answer your question lets see some action" he declaired with a wild smile and a snap of his fingers.
