The Reveal

Previous Chapter

Princess Celestia leaned over the toilet and threw up for the third time that morning. It had been three weeks since the princess had slept with Tirek, and since then she had been having numerous mood swings, eating enough for two mares combined, and throwing up at least four times a week.

"Tia, is thou alright?" Luna asked after her sister regained her composure. "Yes Luna, I'm fine". Celestia grabbed a towel and dried her face, then started heading towards the throne. "Tia, if thou does not mind us asking, but what is going on?"  Celestia stopped dead in her tracks. Was she really ready to tell her little sister?

Luna instantly saw her sisters hesitation. "Thou does realize thy can tell us anything, right?" Celestia  looked at her sister, then nodded 'I guess it is to tell her' she thought to herself.

The goddess turned around so that she facing her little sister, "Luna, I'm pregnant". At first, all Luna could do was stare at her, then she found herself squealing with delight. "Tia, this is amazing! Tell us, is it a mare or a colt? When is she/he due, who is thy father?"

Celestia stuck a hoof in her sisters mouth to silence her. " it's too early to tell what gender it is, he/she is due in about nine months, and the father is... Is." Celestia could not get the words out, no matter how hard she tried, but Luna knew. "It's Tirek, isn't it."

Celestia slowly nodded, and forced a smile on her face. "Nonetheless, I will love the foal just like a good mother should, no matter who the father." Luna nodded, but couldn't help but think of what the foal might posses, since they had just banished Tirek to the depths of Tartarus. Luna forced the thoughts of her head and hugged her sister. "And we shall love it like a proper aunt should."

Celestia smiled and hugged her back. They both started discussing baby names as they headed towards the throne room.

It had been nine months since Celestia had told Luna about her foal. Since then, her mood swings and and eating habits have become worst and her stomach had become the size of a house, at least that's how Celestia described it. She was in a meeting with Luna, Prince Blueblood, and the captain of the royal guard when Celestia felt something drip down her leg.

" princess, is everything alright?" Silver shield, the captain of the royal guard asked her. Celestia only nodded as she felt more of this strange liquid drip down her legs. "You're water broke!" Celestia just stood there, unsure of what to do. Soon, a team of doctors hoisted her up on a stretcher and rolled her into the emergency room.

"Alright, my lady, your doing great. Just keep breathing in and out." "I KNOW HOW TO BREATH! JUST TELL ME HOW TO STOP THIS PAIN!" Celestia screamed at the top of her lungs, the pain was unbearable. " just listen to me, I need you to push, alright? Now one, two, three, PUSH!" Celestia howled in agony as she pushed. " you're doing great, just keep on pushing!"

"I don't think I can." Celestia moaned, she thought the beginning was painful, this felt like a living hell. "You have to!" The doctor tried to encourage her to keep going, but Celestia just shook her head. "Tia! Listen to us, thou is stronger than this. We know it hurts, but thou must keep going, thy has never quit before. Now push!" On those last words, Celestia pushed as hard as she could, causing her to scream in anguish. She was sure she was going to die, when suddenly, she heard the crying of a young foal.

"Its a mare!" The doctor wrapped the foal in a blanket and gave her to Celestia. She looked down at the foal in her arms. The foal had a light pink coat, a red, yellow, and orange mane, a tiny horn, and a pair of bat wings on her back. Celestia began to cry.

"Thou is beautiful," Luna said while staring at the foal, "what shall we name her." Celestia thought of the list of names they had created a few days ago. "How about Ariadne?" As if on command, the filly opened her eyes, golden like her father. "Ariadne it is."
