The mane six are invited to spend Hearth's Warming Eve together at the Crystal Empire with Shining Armor and Cadance. While spending time there Rarity has been graciously gifted with a beautiful snowflake necklace.

She finds a magical door that whisks her off to an alternate universe where she plays the role of Elsa, a pony with the gift to use the power of Ice.

Rarity soon notices something wrong when the alternate universe world and the world of Equestria start blending together. She notices the characters in the alternate world have arrived in their kingdom, and she is becoming one with Elsa. Her hair is becoming as white as snow and her magical powers are staying with her in the regular world.
