Corrupted Time
FUN?!?
Previous ChapterThird person
An ominous feeling filtered through the crystal ponies as their eyes fell upon the creature that held itself above their most important relic. For a moment, they just stared at the bipedal being in anger before their king spoke up.
A quick inspection by Sombra found little discerning what species the being was. The only hints he had were the armored tail and wings. “Step away from the Matrix, and place your hands behind your back.”
It tilted his head at him. But, nothing else really happened.
Not a single movement of any sort since their entrance had been made, other than a slightly cocked head.
“If you do not comply, you will be forcibly detained!” Sombra shouted once more.
The being laughed lightly, just on the edge of his hearing.
“I’ll be damned.” He thought he heard it say.
It then crouched down and tapped at the various runes drawn within the warding circle. A motion from Sombra had four unicorns approach it.
They walked in arrow formation. The protected one had a spell charged to detain the creature. It made no movements, but as soon as the guards came within ten feet of him, they were collectively thrown back to the entrance.
The soft voice from before stated. “Don’t send weaklings to do your job for you.”
A worried look crossed Sombra’s face as he approached the being himself. The move made just then was basically a warning, as the guards stood up just fine. Stopping just where the guards were, he rose his resiliency with a heap of earth pony magic and walked through where the others had been repelled. “Why are you here.” He asked, roughly 4 feet away from the crouched being.
“I am doing you a favor. You did me a favor, so I am doing you one.” It said. It started drawing on the floor in erratic manners. Runes Sombra had never seen before mingled in with the ones currently in his matrix.
A moment of panic erupted through his body as he saw the matrix shift, its lines moved, buckled. A dance of impossible magics twisted within his city’s greatest defense against outside threats. Adjustments were flying throughout it until he could barely recognize it anymore. The most terrifying thing though, was that none of the defenses were fighting it. Some had even joined the invisible tempo that beckoned the matrix’s compliment.
First person: Eklipse
The look on m-Sombra’s face was priceless. I had just reworked his city’s strongest shield against intruders. The original was nice and all, but hell! There wasn’t even a single rune they had used above tier 3. The whole thing was using the super charged Alicite as a key part of his spell instead of fuel. The most disgusting part of the whole matrix was the single mindedness of it all. The whole fucking thing was made to stop Windigos.
Corruption was a wonderful thing. In seconds, it had started breaking down the resistances and defenses. Ten seconds later, Assimilation converted each sector of the matrix as I rewrote the thing. While I am willing to admit that it had been a nice ward in the beginning… it was still nothing compared to some of Dusk’s early works. Then again, magic WAS her special talent. Such irony that simply doing your best to be who you are can get you killed…
My happy mood ruined, I stood to my full height.
Towering over Sombra, I talked to the assorted beings before me. “I have simply repaid a favor. If you step aside, I will take my leave.”
The guards, foolishly, made ranks in front of the staircase. My good mood returning somewhat at their reaction, I laughed.
“Come now. I can easily beat you all down. Just step aside.” They refused. I could see it in their eyes before I had finished my declaration. ‘Thank Faust.’ I thought. ‘Maybe… nah, best not to have any REAL fun yet. I wanna see if I can get out the hard way.’
I looked at Sombra, who had a shocked look of some form of anger and… disbelief? Well, I suppose having seen the spell that kept your city safe from Windigos be tampered with to such a great degree with such little effort on my part had something to do with it…
I waved a hand in front of his face, getting his attention.
“Hey bubs! Tell these guys I can go.” I said.
I nodded towards the guards. Five horns were lit in an instant and Sombra was dragged towards them with three shields surrounding him as a fifth scanned him for mental influence.
A particularly striking young Thestral approached me slightly. “What have you done to the matrix?”
Her fierce eyes bore into me and for a second, I was impressed. Then I realized that this wasn’t my dimension. The beings here don’t know about my power. They don’t understand my pain…
“I returned a favor. That is all.” My wings unfurled slightly and a magical pulse spread through them. “There is no harm in what I did. I fixed the pesky problems in your matrix. I mean, yeah, you obviously don’t know much about runes and bloodmagic, but you probably know what was wrong with it. Mental fatigue, accelerated drain, mood swings, dark thoughts, throbbing pains, etc. all were symptoms you felt. Correct, ‘Your Grace’?” I laughed at his expression.
“Calm down Sombra. I fixed those problems. M’kay? You woke me from my trance and I better protected your city. Fair deal for everyone. Now, I am leaving.” I turned, facing the stairway exactly.
I said one word. “MOVE”
They refused once again, so I decided that the hardway was boring.
My wings spread to their full lengths and crackling with energy, I pointed the tips forward and a sonic boom accompanied a bright flash as the smell of ozone erupted from the spell. I laughed at the lack of ponies in my way. They were all on the ground, except for Sombra. From his saddle bags, a silver crown floated to his head. But instead of the corrupting gem he bore from my world, a horn. A FULL Faust damned HORN of white ALICITE rested on his forehead.
“Crap.” I laughed right as a powerful blast struck my unprepared body. It was painful, I admit it. It actually hurt me. But, paper cuts hurt too.
I batted the beam away as I was driven back. On reflex, my bracers extended. But after the smoke cleared, I had already retracted them.
I saw Sombra’s ‘horn’ glow again and realized something. ‘The magical pattern looks kinda like… shit.’
I saw a dome of magic start to expand from Sombra and I high tailed it up the stairs. In a flash, the dome followed me. I started teleporting and made it out of the castle. The dome however, had not stopped there. It grew and grew. As the citizens saw it, all of the horned ones started to help.
Growing at a damn near exponential rat, it nearly hit me before I made it out of the city. I growled in anger at their impotence.
“Fucking cheaters. Try to use a mental purge on me.”
I flew straight up at the dozens of clouds above the city.
Perching on one, I started sifting through my thoughts and questions, looking for my next move.
“No, eh, nah, pfft!, umm, yeah no, I suppose… nah,” Idea after Idea were downtrodden by my bored mind’s high expectations. Until finally, an entertaining thought presented itself.
“Hehaha. This is going to be GRAND…” I said as I rocketed straight up. Clouds around me were shredded to pieces. The very air buckled for a second as I stopped, way above the world.
Due to my sore muscles, I decided to fall to my destination.
Minutes past and I finally navigated the storm system of the north, I was smack dab in the middle of the unformed equestrian nation…
‘I could end it now… all of the pain they caused me. All of the problems I was put through… I could stop it all from happening. Right here. Right now.
The time period I was in coincided with about seven years before their rise to power. Looking down on the city of the Everfree, I knew that they were in there somewhere. The royal brothers.
My thoughts flew away from me as my right hand extended. A power I knew all too well was nagging at me… just one little spell. Just on- “HI! Who are you?”My thoughts halted in their steps, I turned to look at the owner of the voice.
On a cloud floating next to me sat a little filly. Midnight fur, straight blue mane, tiny horn on her head and little wings on her back. I just stared at her for a short while… “HeLLOOOO?” she asked, waving a hoof in front of me.
“Who are you?” my voice twisted through my mask.
Her face scrunched up a little bit, but she answered anyway. “I am…” a drumroll came out of nowhere as she paused. “LUNA!!!!!! The most awesome pony EVER!” she shouted, throwing her hooves high in the air… and unceremoniously flopping onto her back.
One thought went through my head at the sight, ‘What. The LITERAL. FUCK?’ however, I did not VOICE that. Instead, I said “Hello Luna, my name is Eklipse. Tell me, why are you out here?”
She pouted slightly before answering, “I am hiding from my sister. But what about you? Sis said NOPONY knew where this place was…” she blinked at me, rather pointedly I might say.
I sighed and stopped hovering. A cloud spun into being below me and I kicked my feet up on almost nothing but air. I laughed lightly, “I don’t know what I am doing quite yet little one. I came here looking for two young colts, Sol and Lumos. Have you seen them?”
The filly shook her head no. “Only me and my sister, Celestia live here. Why are you looking for them?”
Why? A thought that never really crossed my mind… why did I look for them here. Did I want to stop them from hurting mother? HA! She isn’t even born yet. I suppose that killing them would have stopped her from even being born… not a good idea. “I wanted to make sure a bad thing did not happen little one. That is all.”
She looked down for a short while before talking again. “I hope make it then. My sister says that o-“
She stopped at the sudden appearance of a teenage mare. White in coat with a pink mane. Rather close to comfort might I say… by which I mean she was literally standing over me with a glowing horn in my face.
Luna screamed in fear so I grabbed the white one’s horn with Corruption and forced that little thing she was trying to do into a major hornache.
She fell to the side on the cloud and started rubbing at the base of her horn rapidly as a few tears escaped her eyes. Luna shrieked again, but this time it had a word. “Celestia” she cried, fling to her sister. She started trying to figure out what just happened and I decided I was bored again.
Since they were both distracted, I decided to leave.
I travelled for about a week, going to random places and generally just trying to have fun when I remembered something. ‘Chaos! That bitch knew one thing, for all of her downfalls. She always knew how to have some fun.
For the next half year, I searched for large sources of chaos. But, it wasn’t until I had literally flown the world that I found her. Napping, in the tree I had started under…
One thing was for certain, I was going to take pleasure in what I planned to do to her.
