//-------------------------------------------------------// At the end of a rainbow -by FlightlessDreams- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// My treasure //-------------------------------------------------------// My treasure Some says there's a treasure laying at the end of the rainbow. A reward for those who are brave and willing enough to follow it. Many give up on the way, thy the rainbow is so long. That is why the treasure, even if we are aware or not, is what we long for the most. For the poor, it might be a fortune. For rich, it might be free time. For mean, either a way back or a way to victims. For bullied, a way to get assertive or a group of equals. It depends on yourself. It depends on what you want. What you dream of. Sometimes, it might be something you had no clue of even existed, or something you didn't think you wouldn't need. The treasure still often seem to end up being something you have been hunting for a large part of your life. Answers to questions you thought was impossible to find a true and reasonable answer to. At the end of a rainbow, it can lie anything. But I know what lies at the end of mine. I've known ever since the day I met you. I've never seen someone like you. Your large, deep blue, beautiful eyes. Your slim and elegant body. That magnificent shade shade of purple that is in your mane, that ends with a perfect curl a the tip. You enchanting smile, the graceful way you walk. You're everything I want. Not only is it the way you look that takes me, but the way you behave too. You're always thinking of everybody you meet, but doesn't forget yourself. Your proper manners and behaved nature is breathtaking. You aren't that bad at fighting either. Basically, you're perfect. But you already know. I know you do. You don't need me to say that, no one needs to say that. But I do. Because I want you to know that I know. I want to stand out in the crowd. Many admires you in silence, but I don't. Why? I love you. I've always loved you, and I wanted you to love me. I was such a fool. You could get any stallion in the world, so why would you choose a silly baby dragon? You wouldn't. And I knew, but I refused to believe it. Later, I tried to shrug it off, pass you on as a simple crush. But what I felt for you stuck. Always. But I knew that 'we' would never happen. You know what I said earlier in this letter? There's only a handful that makes it to the end of a rainbow. I could be one of them. But the truth is, that I really don't believe in that. Because, no matter how long I walk, the rainbow never seems to end. My goal is something I'll never achieve. Because my treasure, what lies at the end of my rainbow, is you, Rarity. And I'll never get you. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilouge //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilouge Rarity sat alone at the breakfast table, sipping on a cup of coffee, when she suddenly heard a knock on the door. "Coming!~"she said in a sing-song voice and walked to the door. At her doorstep stood a frozen and blushing baby dragon that seemed to be at the verge of tears. "Spikey-wikey, what's wrong? You look like you could start crying right now!" "O-oh, it's, um, my allergies. Nothing to worry about."Spike moved back and forth on his heels and his eyes was darting around, but he refused to look at Rarity, who seemed rather confused. "But it's in the middle of the winter."she stated bluntly, looking out at the white surroundings. "Yeah, hehe, I'm... allergic to snow. Fire-breathing dragon, you know." He smiled sheepishly at Rarity, that wasn't really convinced. "You seem to be nervous of something, Spike? Do you want to talk?" "No, it's nothing, but I want to give you this." He gave Rarity a sealed envelope that was addressed to her in curly letters. Then, he took a step back. "I-I gotta go now, bye." Spike took of in the direction to the library, leaving Rarity confused on her doorstep, levitating a letter addressed to her. When Spike finally arrived at the library, he carefully closed the door and sank down on the floor and started crying. I made a total fool of myself. Why couldn't I talk to her? I've done it countless times before. Is it because this is probably the last time I'll ever see her? Probably. This is not how it should have ended. I want her by my side. My rainbow,he thought. Quietly sobbing, spike pulled his head up and imagined that Rarity stood right in front of him. He said what he had wanted to say for so, so long. "I want you to be my rainbow." Rarity returned in again, throwing herself on to the couch and carefully unsealed the envelope. She was in deep thought of what made Spike so nervous, and started to read the letter. After a while, she was done. And she reread it. Again. And again. When she had read it six times, all the different words and sentences was floating around in her head, creating some sort of organized chaos that bringer tears to her eyes. Spike loves me. Those three words repeated themselves in her head. On and on again, until a quiet sob escaped her. No one had ever said that before. They either trembled with the words or just froze. Now, this wasn't really Spike saying it, but writing it was by far enough. She really didn't have a clue of the little dragons feelings, she just assumed that he was friendly. And all the compliments! Now she felt horrible how she had used him to do her favors! He probably felt so rejected. Rarity felt cold tears run down her cheeks, and whispered a promise she knew she would hold. "Oh Spike, I'll be your rainbow."
