It took a while for Cadence to figure out what was going on, but then a slow smile spread across her face. "FATHER!" She cried with joy. She ran embracing him with a hug. "How are you, aren't you...d-dead?" Cadence shivered. The great leader nodded sadly "Yes I am, but that is not why I came to your dreams sweetie." He told her. Cadence eyes opened widely, 'I thought only Aunt Luna could enter dreams.' Cadence thought to herself. Carrying on, Rubinus told her "Cadenza, I am so proud of you. I have watched over you ever since you left my hooves, you are doing well. That stallion you are telling your.. family history to, who is he?" Cadence giggled "For somepony who watches over me you don't know who he is? Well... he's my husband Shining Armor." She told her father proudly. He smiled chuckling "My daughter has a husband? You do grow up fast," Just then the scenery of where Cadence was started to blur up, Rubinus flying to the moon. "Your doing well, and yes I can see your dreams." He winked. Those were the last words Cadence heard from him. Cadence woke up sitting up, breathing heavily. Shining who sitting at his desk turned around. "Honey, are you alright?" He asked. "Don't leave." Princess Luna was dozing off, after all keeping a look out for trouble at night mustn't be easy. However she was Princess of the Night and she had duties to fulfill. Silver Streak (the royal servant) came in "I am terribly sorry Princess but there is letter from Prince Shining Armor from the Crystal Empire addressed for you. It says it is an emergency." He apologized. Luna's eyes widened. Shining Armor needed help? He was Captain of the Guards for pony sake, and he was disturbing her sleep? She took the letter with her magic "You may leave now Silver Streak." She said. Silver Streak left closing the door behind him, before saying "I bid you a good day Princess Luna." With that he was gone. Luna opened the scroll reading quietly " Dear Princess Luna, My wife has woken up to a strange dream. "Yes, but I'm not sure if they have the answer to Cadence's problem, have you looked in the Crystal Empire's library yet?" Twilight suggested. Shining shook his head "No not yet." Telling A Tale"I lived in the Crystal Empire as a filly until Sombra came to rule. My father, King Rubinus was a kind spirited leader, one on which is proudly memorized by the Crystal Ponies. He was happy, and had everything he could have and wanted, he had everything but one thing. A wife, somepony to make him happy everyday. When the new batch of Royal Servants came in there was one who caught the eye of Rubinus, Amethyst Shine. She was a beautiful mare, a Pegasus, and according to traditions, Rubinus had to marry royalty. So the two met each other in secret, they just couldn't be separated. Until one day Rubinus wanted to strengthen their love, by proposing to her, however they had to admit their marriage to the empire. So the time came when they told the empire, at first they didn't like breaking these traditions. But then they came to realise that they loved each other so much, and that it would be wrong to separate them. "A few years past in their marriage, and they had me a baby pegasus. Then came my sister Aura, if you ask me cheeky of what I can remember. All was merry, we had some... well joyous memories to put it in a light way.Until the evil forces came..." Cadence stopped glancing at the clock. "Oh my it's dinner, we best get going dear." She told Shining sweetly. Shining thought that this was just an excuse to stop the story, however still he obeyed. The couple settled down for bed Shining nuzzling Cadence's neck, "Night honey." Cadence kissed Shining. "Honey... could you...continue with the story?" Shining nervously. But with all his strength he casted one last spell, a spell that would effect our lives forever. A spell that froze us in time until it wore of, we stay hiding finding the perfect time to run for our lives. Of course that time came but it was very difficult for us." She sighed. Shining kissed her not breaking it. Finally, what seemed like an eternity, Shining kiss Cadence giggled "That was hot!" Shining smiled "Not as hot as you are though."
