It was a beautiful day outside in Ponyville. the weather team really had outdone themselves. Octavia Melody was sitting at the kitchen table, enjoying a quiet breakfast with Vinyl Scratch. "So Tavi, what's on your to-do list for today?" Vinyl asked as she finished her toast. Before Octavia could reply, there was a knock at the door. "Come in!!" Vinyl yelled.
They heard the door open. "Hey guys, I got your mail." It was Derpy, the town's mail mare. She may have been a klutz due to her crossed eyes, but she was still regarded as the best Ponyville had to offer. Mostly because she was the only Pegasus willing to take the job.
"We are in the kitchen." Vinyl yelled. A moment later Derpy was with them. "Want a muffin?" Vinyl asked. Before she knew it, Derpy was drooling. "I'll take that as a yes." Vinyl handed her the muffin while Derpy deposited their mail onto the table.
After about an hour, they heard another knock at the door. "Come in!" Octavia yelled. Derpy came walking into the house and found them in the living room. "Forgot to deliver something, or were you hoping for another one of my muffins?" Octavia asked.
"Both?" Derpy asked. She could never resist a muffin. "But first and foremost. I do have a package for you Octavia. Labeled 'Very Important First Class: Please Deliver Immediately'. I just need you to sign for it, then we will talk about muffins." She said as she pulled out a clip board and put the box on the table.
After it was signed for and Derpy was sent off with some muffins, Octavia went back to the living room to see Vinyl poking the box with a stick. "Vinyl, darling, what are you doing?" Octavia asked as she took the box away. She heard Vinyl say something about being bored and thought best to ignore it.
"So who's it from?" Vinyl asked. She watched as Octavia pulled out a couple of backstage passes from the box. They were for a show that Saturday night. There was also a letter.
"No name or return address. It seems to be harmless enough. Maybe it's one of your fans just trying to impress you." Octavia said. She opened the letter and started reading.
Dearest Octavia,
You and one Vinyl Scratch are personally invited to come to my show this Saturday at the Ponyville Theater. The passes will get you any seats you desire as well as food and drinks on the house. After the show, I would like to talk to the both of you about a musical endeavor in the making.

Octavia just read and re-read the letter to make sure it wasn't some sort of joke. Once she realized that it was real, she had one of the biggest smiles on her face. Vinyl just thought before speaking. "Hm, DJ-HaRm0ny. Why does that sound familiar?" Vinyl scratched her head before shrugging and going to the bathroom.
Octavia waited until she heard the water running for the shower. She then grabbed a piece of paper and started writing a letter.
Twilight,
I just got a letter from HaRm0ny. he will be performing at the Ponyville Theater this Saturday. Vinyl and I have backstage passes but I'm pretty sure you could get in to with the fact that you’re a princess. I know you don't like using your title to get what you want but I know that you will want to see him again.

As soon as she finished, she quickly, yet neatly, folded it and stuck it in an envelope. "Pinkie! Front and center!" Octavia yelled. within moments, the pink party pony was sitting in front of her with an army like helmet on. Pinkie was kicked out of the house the night before because Mr. and Mrs. Cake wanted some "Alone Time". "Pinkie Pie, reporting for duty!" she said in a joking way. Octavia showed her the envelope.
"I need this delivered to Twilight right away. Think you can do it?" she asked.
"I don’t think I can do it. I know I can do it. And honestly, I don’t really think much at all." Pinkie said as she saluted, grabbed the letter, and ran out the door. Octavia looked back at the passes.
"Well my friend. It seems that you will be in for quite a surprise. And I look forward to working with you."
Meanwhile: At the Library.
"Twilight!" Pinkie yelled as she walked into the Library. "I got a letter for you from Octavia." Twilight came into the room and grabbed the letter in her magic.
"Thank you Pinkie, you are dismissed." she said as she waved off the saluting party mare. Pinkie bounced out of the Library, her mission complete. Twilight opened the envelope and read the letter. Several times. Twilight's eyes went wide. "OHMYGOSH! DJ-HaRm0ny is coming to town! I missed him so much. I wonder if he would still recognize me?" Twilight said to no one.
Little did she know that there was an eavesdropping little dragon just up the stairs. "Great, I'll never hear the end of this. He was a nice guy but he just wasn't my type of person. He loved parties too much. Oh well. Back to work." he said as he walked back upstairs.
Who is DJ-HaRm0ny? What is the small dragons name? Did anypony catch the name related joke I made?

Chapter 2 - The Morning and Arrival
Chapter 2 : The Morning and Arrival
It was Saturday morning, finally. To Octavia, it felt like years. She woke up around 9 in the morning. Normally she was up earlier in the morning, before Celestia's sun was even up. But today was different. She was going to a concert.
She walked out into the living room to see Vinyl asleep on the couch. Rainbow Dash was sleeping on top of her, it almost seemed like she was trying to cuddle. She stayed the last two nights because the last storm blew out one of the walls in her cloud home . 'How a storm can even destroy a cloud wall is beyond me.' she thought as she recalled Rainbow Dash falling onto their back porch. "Wake up you two. I need this house nice and clean before we leave." She said.
Rainbow Dash woke up first and noticed where and how she was sleeping. She quickly got up which in turn caused Vinyl to fall off the couch. "Ow, how did I end up on the floor?" Vinyl asked when she realized where she was.
Octavia just smiled before heading to the bathroom. She wanted to tell Vinyl what she saw but thought it was best to leave it for now. She would use it to mess with Dash though.
When Octavia came out of the bathroom, she realized that Vinyl was asleep on the couch again. She smiled and looked at Dash. "You can still do that whip trick with your tail right?" She asked. It took Dash a few seconds to realize what she was being allowed to do. it was something that would wake up any heavy sleeper.
Rainbow Dash walked up to the couch and made a few experimental movements with her tail. She moved her tail towards Vinyl and quickly withdrew it, making a loud snapping sound. And just like a whip, it broke the sound barrier.
Thus, the Sonic-Miniboom.
Vinyl was wide awake at the moment it went off. She got so scared so fast, she accidentally had a small surge that turned their one couch into three.
Octavia was smiling while holding a hoof in front of her face to hide her small laughter. "I should ask you to do that more often, Dash." She said before giggling some more. Vinyl just glared at her before walking to the bathroom. While Vinyl took a shower, Octavia took the chance to shoo Dash out of the door. After that, she started cleaning.
Later, Octavia was finishing with the kitchen while Vinyl was finishing up the bathroom. "Well, that should be everything." Octavia said while looking around the sparkling house. She looked at the clock to see that it was around 4:30. "We should get ready to leave. It is getting late and I don’t like being late for any sort of event." She added as she saw her roommate shake her head like crazy.
"No problem Tavi. Since we are VIP, we can get in before the doors even open. How about we get going now and raid the bar before anypony else gets there!" Vinyl said right before there was a knock at the door. They both looked at the front door only to be surprised by a familiar pink pony sticking her head in through the mail slot.
"Hey guys! Are you excited? Cause I'm excited! I've never been more excited! Well, except for that time when Twilight first came to Ponyville and I was all like GASP!" Pinkie said before a purple alicorn teleported in and covered her mouth.
Vinyl just started to shake her head like crazy again and finally stopped. Nopony asked if she was alright. All in the room knew that it was how she styled her hair. Octavia was the first to speak. "Yes, well, if we are ready, shall we depart?" she asked as she pulled open the door. she couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Pinkie try to get out of the mail slot.
As they walked up to the VIP entrance they noticed that the guards were different from the normal Bouncers that usually stood outside. Vinyl was the first to speak. "Well, you two are different." They were indeed 'different'.
One was an earth pony. He had a light green coat with a lightish red spikey mane with black tips. His eyes were purple like freshly bloomed lavender. His cutie mark was an axe. His name tag said 'Axel Regen'. He just gave a small grunt before taking a drag off his smoke.
The other wasn't a pony. she was a Griffon. she looked much like Gilda, except with red eyes and grey head feathers that tapered to an ocean blue at the tips. Her name tag said Cinaria and she had the VIP list for the night. "Can I help you?" she asked. She seemed like the kind that would have no problem throwing you out very harshly.
Octavia walked up and presented her and Vinyl's passes. "One Octavia and one Vinyl should be on the VIP list." She said. Griffon checked her clipboard then nodded. She then decided to look at Twilight and Pinkie.
Twilight took the chance to do the one thing she hated doing most. using her princess stature to get somewhere. "Princess Twilight Sparkle requesting access for myself and one guest for instant VIP under Club Underground Initiative 72b paragraph 5." she said with a matter of fact tone.
Cinaria had a very thoughtful face on. she didn't remember the full CUI as she was still new. Axel on the other hoof, was a veteran. "Your credentials and request are approved. Enjoy the show." he said as he handed them their passes.
Twilight thanked them and the four ponies entered the theater. "So who is all performing?" Twilight asked as they looked for their VIP spot.
Octavia was deep in thought for a moment. They found their desired VIP spot and entered. Luckily, there was a poster showing the bands that was performing before the mains show. "Lets see. It starts with 'Hammerstall', then it will be 'Blind Stallion', A Michael Jackson cover band, then a song from a 'DJ-Pl4gu3'. After all that, DJ-HaRm0ny will perform." Vinyl said as she read the list.
"Michael Jackson? interesting. I guess the writer couldn't think of a pony like name. Eh, oh well." Pinkie said. The others just looked at her with confused looks. they eventually disregarded it as normal Pinkie randomness.
Octavia never understood Pinkie and didn’t dare to try. "Yes, well, lets just get some food and beverages and enjoy the show, shall we?"
