A bright and sunny day in the royal city of Equestria brought a smile to both Celestia and Luna. The pegasi had definitely cleared the sky of all clouds and the two were basking in the warmth of the sun. Today was going to be another glorious day for the citizens of Equestria.
That was until; a guard came bolting into the scene. “Celestia, Luna! I have reports that the Jeweled City has risen out of the ocean!”
The princesses gasped and Celestia immediately jumped to action “Guard! Get two messengers sent out. Send one to Ponyville to get Twilight Sparkle and her friends! Tell them that they must come at once! Send a second messenger to Hoofgorod! The second messenger will find the home of The Carriage of Light and tell them to get prepared for a very long journey to trek again.”
The guard saluted. “Yes ma’am!” He then took off.
“Luna, we must get all available items to better explain to Twilight about you know who and the Great Shadow War.” Celestia said, downcast.
“Yes, at once!” Luna briefly said and then turned to go gather the items needed.
Meanwhile Twilight and her friends were gathered for a picnic on the outskirts of Sweet Apple Acres. They were enjoying some food and Rainbow Dash telling another great winded story of her latest plights.
Their afternoon was interrupted as a messenger guard came speeding up. “Princess Twilight and friends! Your presence is immediately requested at Canterlot Castle! There is NO time to spare!” The messenger took off like a rocket back towards the Northeast.
“Ah wander what in tarnation Celestia wants us THAT badly for?” Applejack said inquisitively.
“I don’t know Applejack, but we better get there fast!” Twilight said starting off for the Castle. The rest of the group followed in suit. Whatever was happening, they knew it must be huge.
When Twilight and team arrived in the throne room of the castle, Celestia and Luna had a huge map of Equestria opened for the six to see. The entire map seemed to be normal, except there was a new island between Everfree Isle and Ert. The new island had a star in the center that had the name Jeweled City. The map had been dated to about 3500 years before the banishment of Luna. Its age was well shown.
“I have seen many maps of Equestria and beyond, but that island had never been there. What is going on Princess Celestia?” Twilight asked, bewildered and amazed at the same time.
“Luna and I will explain on the trip. We have a special carriage that will take us there, however, the trip is a very long one. We will give a brief backstory on this place. The Jeweled City was once a bustling place and it was the capitol of the world. Many ponies traveled there on a frequent basis. There was a carriage that took several hundred ponies to that same place. It was the Carriage of Light. It took 200 well-trained pegasi to pull and fly it. It was a feature in a museum in Cloudsdale until the family that owned it wanted it returned.” Celestia took a brief pause. “That same city is the one where Luna and I grew up.” Celestia said in an urgent tone.
Luna took a few steps forward. “After an unknown to history incident, the city vanished without being wrote down in history. We had just moved into Canterlot when Mother and Father gave us the word. Everything just…gone. Citizens, the Dragon Guard, the Grand Diamond Palace and…” Luna cut herself short. “I guess if you all are going to go there, then there is something we must tell you…” Luna said, with a saddening tone.
“As much as my sister and I do not want to reveal certain things about ourselves, we must tell you that there are two more alicorns in this world. Prince Equinox and Princess Solstice.”
Twilight was the one primarily speaking for her friends. “That is a lot of information to take in, but why hide it from the world? Why not give a little bit of knowledge for the families who fear they lost loved ones eons ago. I know that there isn’t a good reason to keep that hidden for four and a half millennia.” Twilight said with an angry tone.
Celestia looked an Luna, who made a sad nod. “There is a fair reason for us to hide such facts from modern knowledge. There are two things that we are about to reveal to you that we wouldn’t like anyone to hear. That is until we are positive that the city and Equinox are ok.”
At this point, Rainbow Dash couldn’t contain herself any longer. “What’s the big deal? Why make this entire conversation so secret and keep a good chunk of history hidden for most of the world’s life?” Dash said grumpily.
Celestia gave a sigh. She knew that she had to tell the six Elements what was going on. “You see…Equinox is…Our brother…” She said downcast.
Twilight and her friends gave a huge gasp. The room fell silent. No one dared to speak.
