Sometimes, even the best plans fail. In a world where the Elements of Harmony failed, the consequences can reach far further than most would have anticipated.

Note: This was a story that's been sitting on my hard drive since July, and I have uploaded it to show my progress since I started writing for the fandom. There are some errors here and there, but they've been preserved to show my lack of polish at the time. I don't plan on submitting this to Equestria Daily, as it is neither semi-original, nor inspired, nor even of quality I believe could be accepted there. This was written before season two, and as such might conflict with some canon. Critiques are accepted, but know that I've come a ways in the time since I wrote this. Expect perspective shifts and awkward phrasing all over the damn place.
