Issue 1#
On-board a speeding train, the passengers were on their way to the city of Broncotopia. They are going to this large city for a variety of reasons. They could be tourist visiting the city, they could have friends of family living in the city, or they could just be moving to that city. Whatever their reasons are, it was going to be a long trip there.
To past the time, the ponies did a lot of activities. Some talk to their companions, play games, read books, listening to music, or peacefully slept. While they were busy doing their own things, everypony are totally unaware of the two super heroines riding the train with them.
Sitting quietly to themselves are two mares. One was a tan earth pony with a long light blue mane and brown eyes. She was reading a magazine while her companion was looking out the window. Her friend is a pale blue pegasus, with blue eyes and purple mane with a lighter purple streak.
The blue mare was looking out the window, with a smile on her face.
“Man, it's been a long time since we been on a vacation! We should really get more time off from our work!” She exclaimed.
Her friend lowers the magazine and look at the blue pegasus. “Lighting, you do realize we're not on vacation right? We're here to find and meet these guys.” She showed her the magazine she was reading and on the page it showed six costume ponies with a large white tagline that says, The New Power Ponies?
“Oh come on Sandy, just because this is a mission, doesn't mean we can't still have some fun around this city.” Lightning responded. “Beside why do we even need to meet these guys?”
Sandy raise an eyebrow at this. “You don't remember what we talked about at the meeting?”
“All I remember was hearing about was going to a this city and I just kinda stop listening from there.” Lightning answered, getting a sigh from her tan friend.
“Matterhorn wants us to meet these heroes and try to talk them into joining a bigger organization.”
“Oh yeah, I vaguely remember something about that, Matterhorn want to form a league of heroes or something.”
“Of course Lighting. The world is changing, we're no longer the only heroes known. More superheroes are appearing everyday. There's Mare-Do-Well in Trotham City, the Terrific Three in Neighyork, and Mighty Mustang in Mustangville. And those are just a few of the many appearing around world. Heck, there's even a mention of none ponies becoming heroes. Like a violent griffon vigilante and an armored zebra.”
The two mares continue their conversation about the various heroes appearing and listing them by name, location, and what can they do. Suddenly the train's intercom announce everypony on-board that they'll be arriving at the Broncotopia Train Station soon.
A few minutes later the train arrive at the station. Once it fully stopped, the doors opened and the ponies started pouring out. Among the crowd of colorful ponies, two mares were pushing their way through.
“Jeez, time like this I wish we have some of those cool flying vehicles those other heroes have.” Lightning Complain.
“Well hey not all of us are rich enough to afford such things.” Sandy retort.
After leaving the station, the two found themselves a hotel, called the Starcross Hotel. They book a room and began unpacking. Instead of clothing, the two ponies were taking out their costumes. Lightning was taking out her navy blue outfit and headgear. Beneath all this, was her golden lightning bolt necklace. Meanwhile, Sandy was taking out her red outfit with black ski mask and long green cloth wraps. Along with her costume, her briefcase also has her lasso and belt, filled with various gadgets.
“So, how are we going to find these guys?” Lightning questions as she puts on her Zapp outfit.
“Simple Lightning.” Sandy relied. “We'll wait for some criminal to rob a bank or something, and soon those guys will show up.”
“But, who knows how long that will take?” Lightning groaned.
Suddenly the two heard an explosion outside and they both gallop to the balcony of their room. Looking down, they can see a damaged armored chariot turned over to its side and two other normal chariot blown to pieces. Standing on top of the armor chariot was a gray pegasus. The stallion was wearing a black helmet that covered his face, a black Kevlar vest, and black boots to match. What stood out the most about this stallion, was all the bombs he was packing.
“Hurry up and unload those bits!” The gray stallion shouted at the two stallions dragging the many bags of bits out of the turned chariot.
His two minions were busy picking up the heavy bags and stacking them into a large pile. Near this pile of gold coin, was their third member, a unicorn. He was there getaway guy, once they have all the bags he'll teleport them and his team back to their hideout.
Of in the distance the siren alarm can be heard. The Broncotopia police were already on the scene, the first to arrive were to police chariot, rushing towards the criminals.
The gray pegasus on top spotted them. He then pick a bomb from one of his vest's many pockets. Taking out two bombs, he threw them a few meters ahead of him. The bombs he tossed were land mines. They were basically bombs that explode if step on and those two police chariots were galloping right towards them.
Then out of nowhere two energy beams came and hit the two landmines, The result was two simultaneous explosion, which cause the two police chariots to stop in their tracks.
“Baron Bomber!” A mare shouted at the gray pegasus. The Baron Bomber turn his head in the direction of the voice and saw two costumed pegasus mare, flying above him. The mare on the right wore a red jump suit with golden circles around the collar and all her four legs. The leg part of her suit were blue. The mare on the left wore the same outfit, but the color red and blue are in reverse. Both wear the same, red and blue masquerade masks that covers the upper half of their faces. Their coats were violet and manes white as snow.
“Give yourself up now or you shall face our might!” The one on the right said.
“Or don't, I'll be glad to send you to the hospital after I am done with ya.” Said the left mare.
Beneath his helmet, the Baron Bomber couldn't help but roll his eyes at the mare's attempt to be threatening. “That's cute, the wonder twins is trying to act all tough.”
This got a response from the mare on the left who gritted her teeth, while her sister remain cool-headed. “We're not the wonder twins! We're the Dynamic Duo!” She yelled out.
“Yeah whatever, think fast!” The Baron Bomber quickly threw a bomb at the two.
Thinking quickly, the left mare shot an energy beam at the round device. This prove to be unwise as the device exploded, sending a powerful blast wave that smack both mares to the building behind them. They left a big hole on the structure, before falling down to the street below.
“Well that was easy.” Said the Baron. He then took out another bomb from one of his pouches. “Time to finish them off.” However, before he could pull the pin, a horseshoe came flying out of nowhere and knock the grenade out of his hoof.
“Not so fast Baron Bomber!” Said a mare's voice behind him.The Baron then turn around and saw another costume mare. “
“And just who are you?”
“The names Mistress Mare-velous,” She introduce herself. “And I like you to meet my friend, Zapp.”
The red costumed mare pointed her hoof up and the Baron's head followed where she was pointing. Right above him was another costume mare, who was holding a golden lightning bolt necklace in her mouth. In one swift motion, Zapp commanded the force of nature and brought down the mighty force of lightning upon the Baron.
After he was hit by lighting, the Baron was all charred up and fell into unconsciousness. His three henchponies witness this and immediately tried to get out of there. Before they can go any further, a lasso was thrown around the three and tied them up. The unicorn tried to use his teleportation spell, but was knocked out by Mistress Mare-Velous's horseshoe.
With both the villain and minions dealt with, Zapp and Mare-Velous decided to check up on the two twin mares, who by this point were starting to recover.
“Hey you two alright?” Mare-Velous asked as she stretch out her hoof.
Shaking her head, the red and blue mare grabbed Mare-Velous's hoof. “Yeah we're fine.” The mare said as she was pull up. “Thank you for the save.” She then turn her attention to her twin sister who was also on her hooves. “Who are two by the way?”
Before either of the two Power Pony could answer, somepony else already beat them to it.
“The red one is Mistress Mare-Velous and the blue one is Zapp.”  
The sudden masculine voice startled the two and quickly turn around to see who was talking. Behind them a was stallion wearing a brown and green costume. His outfit comes with a mask that covers his entire face, except his eyes and mouth.
While his costume does cover his entire body, bits of him are still revealed. For example through his mask, his orange coat can be seen. Plus his eyes are green, the same kind that matches his costume.
“These two are part of the superhero team called the Power Ponies.”
“Whoa the Power Ponies? Oh man, I admire your guy's work!” The blue and red mare dash towards the two. “You guys are awesome!”
While Mare-Velous taken back the costume mare's praises, he partner soak in the praises.
“Is it true that you tricked Magnet Mare into thinking that she lost her power?”
“Oh yeah funny story, you see-”
“Look, as much as we want share our stories, we're actually here on business.” Mare-Velous interrupted.
“Oh? What kind of business?” The stallion enquired.
“Well before I answer that, how about you tell us your names.”
“Oh right I forgot to introduce ourselves, I'm Steedfast and those two behind you are Wonder Mare and Marvel Mare.”
“That's right!” The blue and red mare exclaim. “Me and my sister, Wonder Mare are the Dynamic Duo!”
“There now that we introduce ourselves now will you answer my question, ma'am."
“Well the thing is Steedfast, we want the rest of your team to hear this.”
“Very well then I will tell the rest of our team. Meet us at the top of the Broncotopia city's museum at 5 PM.”
“Whoa wait a sec 5 PM? That's like a couple of hours now, why can't we do this now?” Zapp questioned.
“I'm sorry, but Horsepower, Crimson Knight and Scarlet Knight are currently busy with a mission. They will back by that time.” Steedfast answered. “Now if you excuse us, we're going back on patrol. “Come along you two.” He order the Dynamic Duo to follow him.
Both Wonder Mare and Marvel Mare spread their respective wings and fly after their teammate. Marvel Mare spare a glance at the two Power Ponies before returning her attention ahead.
“Great so now what?”  
“Well we can go to the museum.” Mare-Velous suggested.
“What, why? The meeting is at five.”
“No Zapp, I mean go there and visit the building.”
Zapp though about for a bit before shrugging.”Sure, kill some time before meeting them.”
She then she proceeds to fly in the direction where the museum is, right before her companion cough loudly to get her attention.
“What?”
“You're going to the museum dress as that.” Mare-Velous pointed out.
“Whoops, heh better change back.” Zapp then fly her way back to their hotel room.
Mistress Mare-Velous then took out a hookshot and shot it at the balcony of their room. The hook hit its mark and the string started retracting itself, bringing the costume heroine with it.
Unbeknownst to the two heroine, a lone pony was watching them on from on top of the building across the street, When the pony has seen enough, he swiftly turn around and left the scene.

                         Issue 2#

Issue 2#
It was mid-afternoon for the city of Broncotopia. The orange skies were slowly turning to black as the sun was half-way past the horizon. At the museum, the staff were busy guiding the visitors out of the building, while also closing up the place.
With the last door locked, the museum was officially closed for the night. The majority of the staff have gone home, except for the few security guards staying for the night.
Unknown to these ponies, there were still two ponies here. Except they weren't inside the building, they were on top of it.
On top of the Broncotopia City's Museum, two costume heroines were waiting patiently for another group of ponies to arrive. Zapp was pacing as she trotted back and forth. Mistress Mare-Velous on the other hoof was sitting down, inspecting her gadgets.
“Sandy, what time is it?” Zapp asked, getting an annoyed look from her friend.
“Zapp, constantly asking me what time it is? Will not make them comeany sooner.”
“What time is it?” She repeat her question, where her companion just sighs.
“It's 5:10.” She answered, checking her watch. “And stop saying my real name when we're on duty!”  
“Sorry Mare-Velous, but I'm just getting really impatient now!”
“There ten minutes late, nothing to get all worked up about.” Mare-Velous snorted.
“Yeah well, if Matterhorn was here she would've scolded those guys for being late.” Zapp commented. “You know how uptight that mare is about tardiness.”
“Yes I do.” Mare-Velous responded. “Which is why when we get back, we should find her a special pony, so that he or she can finally pull that stick out of her ass.”
Before Zapp can reply to her friend, her eyes caught something in the distance. She spotted a group of six costumed ponies heading there way. They were apparently standing on top of a floating magical platform, cast by the two unicorns in their party.
Zapp pointed her hoof in their direction, alerting Mare-Velous to their arrival. The mare put her gadgets back into her utility belt and watch as the other group of heroes arrive.
When they reach the roof top, the two red armored unicorns drop the spell and they all fall harmlessly off their ride.
Zapp and Mare-Velous recognizes three of the ponies: Steedfast, Wonder Mare and Marvel Mare. The other three, they didn't know. One was a heavily armored unicorn stallion, the second is a lightly armored unicorn mare, and the last one is a costumed earth stallion.
The color of the unicorn stallion's armor was a dark shade of red. His armor covered his entire body, leaving no visible piece of himself. Despite the heavy-looking armor, the stallion move pretty well in them, no sluggish or awkward movements here.
The other unicorn was a total opposite of the other guy. Her armor was bright red and it was more similar to the modern royal guard's armor. A helmet, body armor, and metal hoof shoes. Unlike her heavily armored friend, she wore less armor, allowing a clear view of her. She has a white coat with long tied red hair and tail. Her eyes were bright red, the same as her mane and armor.
Then there was last pony. The stallion wore a blue hooded jacket with black bandana covering his mouth. His blue jacket has a pair of lightning bolts together, both displaying in the front and on the back. Other than those two piece of clothing, he wore nothing else. The stallion has a purple coat with brown eyes and black dreadlocks like mane.
“What took you guys so long?” Was the first thing Zapp questioned when they arrive.
“I apologize for our late arrival, ma'am.” The purple stallion spoke. “Our mission took longer then expected. But, anyways we're here.”
“Right, so I'm Zapp and my friend back there is Mistress Mare-Velous.”
“Well then I'm Horsepower, the guy covered in armor is Crimson Knight and the mare next to him is Scarlet Knight.” The stallion introduces himself and his two teammates. “You already know Steedfast and the twins.” He pointed to the other three. Marvel Mare waved her hoof at them.
“Now that we're all here, what business do you have with us?” Horsepower asked, looking at the pair suspiciously.
Instead of Zapp answering the question, Mare-Velous step up. “We're here to see if you guys want to join our group.”
“What? You mean like the Power Ponies?” Crimson Knight said, the sound of his voice, muffled by his armor faceplate. “Cause we are already a team.”
“No, not our team, but something bigger. You might have known by now that we are not the only heroes on this world. Everyday someponies are discovering their powers and taking up the mantel of being a superhero. However, for every hero, there is always a couple of villains that come with it. Now what are leader want is to form a large organization where every hero is a member. That way we'll be able to combat any threat that comes right at us, whether it is costumed villains, gangs, mobs, mercenaries, warlords or even invaders from space, we will be ready for them. So we came here to see if you guys want to join up."
When Mistress Mare-Velous finished her speech, the six ponies stared at her. Some had wide eyes expression while some doesn't seem convinced. Nevertheless they huddle together and talk among themselves.
Both Zapp and Mare-Velous waited patiently for the group's answer. A minute later and they all broke off. While everypony had a neutral expression on their faces, Marvel Mare was the only one with disappointment written all over her face.
“While the idea sounds great, we respectfully decline.” Horsepower answered.
“Any reason why?” Mare-Velous questioned.
“Lets just say we prefer to stay independent.”
Both Mare-Velous and Horsepower stare into each other for a bit before the mare sighs. “Very well then, we can't force you guys to join.” She then turned around. “We'll be on our way.”
The two mares left, with Zapp questioning whether or not her partner gave up to easily.
“Horsepower, are you sure it was a wise decision?” Wonder Mare asked.
“Yeah! We could have met the rest of the Power Ponies and become an awesome team!” Marvel Mare exclaim with much enthusiasm.
The older stallion sigh and look straight at the two sisters. “Yes girls I'm sure. While joining a large organization may sound great, trust me, it's not. All they'll do is ask you to keep on giving, but when the time comes and you need them the most, they will leave ya high and dry.”
Seeing how disappointed the twins are, Crimson Knight decided to bud in. “While I don't entirely agree with Horsepower pessimistic view, I do agree on staying independent. We are still very small, our resources are limited. Maybe when we're better, then we can join them.”
Scarlet Knight smile at her partner's response. Sure she was on the side with the twins, but Crimson Knight provided a good explanation to why they can't join now. She just wish that kind of thinking applies to that other stallion, Steedfast. The guy was nice enough, but she just wish the stallion would voice his opinions on things, instead of just siding with Horsepower.
With the meeting over, the six ponies left the museum rooftop and headed back to base.
Meanwhile, at the hotel the two mares are residing. Zapp was laying on the bed, while Mare-Velous was in the shower. The blue mare was still angry that her partner gave up too easily. They didn't took an eight-hour train ride here, just so they can be rejected. Once her partner is out of the shower, she was going to give her a piece of her mind.
The bathroom door opened and a palish brown mare came out. She was busy drying her blue mane with the towel to notice her friend's glare. When she remove the towel from her head and notice the glare she was receiving. Mare-Velous just sigh.
“What is it now, Zapp?”
“You know what it is!”
“Yeah and like before I told you to drop it.”
“I still say we should go back and convince them join.”
“Zapp, they already made up their minds. Besides its getting late, just look how dark it is.”
“What are you talking about? It's not that-” Zapp stopped herself when she saw just how dark it was outside through the glass sliding door to their balcony. “Whoa you're right, it's pitch black out there.”
Before Mare-Velous could go back to the bathroom, the mare just realize something. Sure it was night-time, but even then it was never this dark. Suddenly large blue glowing fangs appeared from the darkness and was tapping the glass door. This freak the two mare out, then all of a sudden the glass door shattered and the darkness barge right in. It let out a beastly roar and went for the nearest target, Zapp.
Thankfully, with some quick reflexes, she managed to dodge to beast who ended crashing into the bed. Zapp then pick up the lightning bolt shape necklace with her mouth and summon a powerful gust of wind, which blew the beast back outside and fell over the balcony.
Zapp immediately went after the beast, leaving her partner to get dress up and gear up. She flew out through the shattered glass door and down the broken balcony railings.
Zapp spots the black creature crashing onto the streets below. The beast was the strangest thing she ever saw. It looked like a black silhouette of a large muscular tiger, but instead of orange with black stripes, the creature was completely black. No features except for its glowing blue fangs.
The beast quickly recovers from his drop and looked straight at the approaching mare. Despite not having any visible eyes, Zapp knew that the beast was staring right at her. Using the power of her pendent, she cast a powerful lighting bolt to strike the black monstrosity.  
The beast saw the flash of lightning and instantly dash towards the nearest lamp post. Using the big long metallic post as an antenna, Zapp's lightning never hit its mark.
With that out of the way, the beast jump at the wing pony, both his black claws stretch out and ready to slice some soft pony flesh.
Unfortunately, a yellow lasso was toss around the creature's long black tail and was swung downwards, to the hard ground below.
Mistress Mare-Velous hope that this would put the beast out of commission. This did not happen. The beast swing his tail up and launched the mare up in the air. Luckily, Zapp caught her before she fell. In retaliation, Mare-Velous threw a bunch of hoofarangs at him, each one packing a different effect.
One hoofarang exploded, another exploded with fire, another with ice. Out of these three none seem to affect the beast. However, one hoofarang got a reaction out of the monster. The electric hoofarang shot electricity through his body, causing him roar loudly.
Figuring that electricity was his weakness, she quickly turned to her friend. “Quick Zapp, summon some lighting at the beast!”
Zapp lifted the pendent in her mouth, causing a storm cloud to appear out of nowhere and shot out a stream of lighting.
The beast evade the attack and before he could counter attack, he struck by another lightning bolt.
The bolt didn't came from Zapp, rather it came from a across the street. Both Power Ponies turn saw three familiar faces. It was Steedfast, Crimson Knight, and Scarlet Knight. The two armored unicorns continue to shoot bolts of lightning at the beast, buying Steedfast enough time to get close up and personal.
Using his amazing strength, Steedfast began pummeling the black beast. He punch him a couple of times, even including a few bucks in as well. Each his punches and kicks felt a crashing trucks to the creature. When ever the monster tries to attack the stallion, he would jumped back and allow an opening for his teammates to attack.
Not wanting to be left, both Zapp and Mare-Velous attack the black beast with their electrical attacks.
Finally with one powerful punch, he smack the beast down. Steedfast took moment to relax. He watched Crimson Knight cast a cage like magic construct around the defeated monster. He then turn his head around and saw the two mares trotting up to him.
“Thanks for the assistance, you two.” He complimented.
“No, thank you for coming to our aid.” Mare-Velous reply.
“Yeah those were some nice moves out there!” Zapp stated. “You sure you guys don't want to join?”
Steedfast chuckles. “Yes, we're sure. Besides Horsepower is our leader, so anything he says we do.” Unbeknownst to the stallion, Scarlet Knight was rolling her eyes at his response.  
“What is that thing by the way?” Mistress Mare-Velous questioned.
“That is the Black Beast, a creature from an alternate dimension. He was summon here to our dimension by some crazy cultist wishing to use him. Unfortunately, the Black Beast was too much for them and nearly slaughtered them before we arrived. Ever since then we been trying to hunt this creature down and send him back to his own dimension.” She then turn her attention to the cage dark beast. “Looks like now we can finally finish this.”
Using her magic, the red armored mare drew a ritual circle on the ground. “Crimson, bring the Black Beast over here.” Crimson did what she ask and lifted the bruised up creature onto the circle.
Zapp and Mare-Velous watch in fascination as the mare began chanting the ritual spell. The drawn circle with strange symbols starts to glow a bright blue. When Crimson Knight release the beast from his cage, the Black Beast immediatly dropped the being defeated act and hop away from the glowing circle.
“Quick Crimson Knight grab the beast before he escapes!” Steedfast shouted.
The red knight was about do that but stopped. His eyes went wide as he saw the beast pulsating. Blue veins like marks started emerging around his body, glowing brightly on his black skin. Then with great speed, the Beast leap at armored stallion. Breaking his armor in the process and held him in his jaws.
The rest of ponies watch in horror as that monster escape, with the stallion in tow.
“Crimson!” Scarlet shouted in horror of losing her partner. “We have to rescue him!”
“I know lets-”
“Hold it Steedfast!” Mare-Velous stopped him.
“What why?”
“You need to head back and inform the rest of team of this. Zapp and I will help Scarlet Knight in rescuing her master.”
Steedfast was about to argue, but when the logic sunk in, he realized that it was a logical decision. “Fine, I'll go. Scarlet, you be careful alright?” When she nodded in response, Steedfast immediately left, heading back to their headquarters.
With him gone, the three mares went after the Black Beast. With Scarlet Knight leading the group. Zapp and Mistress Mare-Velous follow behind the armored mare, both ready to face whatever was coming next.

                         Issue 3#

Issue 3#
It was the middle of the night for the city of Broncotopia. The streets are empty and everypony was in their homes, sleeping.
This was not the case for three costumed mares, moving across rooftop to rooftop.
Of in the distance a large Black Beast can be seen jumping between building as well, carrying with him, a wounded stallion in his mouth.
“Damn this thing is fast!” Mare-Velous shouted. “Zapp try to slow it down!”
“I'm on it.” Zapp then flapped her wings hard and went ahead of them.
“Are you sure your friend can handle that Beast?” Scarlet Knight asked.
“Yeah, Zapp dealt with bigger foes before.” Mare-Velous answered. “Now how about less talking and more galloping!”
Up ahead, Zapp was drawing nearer to the Black Beast. She thought about using the lightning attack again, but remembered the stallion he was holding. Instead of summoning lightning, she summoned a gust of wind to push against the creature, slowing him down.
Once she was in range, she charged in and tackled the Beast's back. The sudden pain made him drop his prey harmlessly on the rooftop. The Beast then turned around and tried to take a swipe at the airborne pony. She easily evaded the attack and kept on doing it, all the while not returning any of her attacks.
She didn't need to fight this monster, all she had to do was distract him long enough for her two backups to arrive. Then in the middle of attacking, a magical beam came out of nowhere and struck the Beast away.
Turning her head in the direction of the beam, she spots both Mare-Velous and Scarlet Knight galloping towards them. Deciding to take things up a notch, Zapp summoned the awesome power of lightning and drop it upon the Black Beast.
The lightning hit the Beast and it roared in pain. After the lightning, Mistress Mare-Velous threw a few of her electric hoofarangs and paralysed the Beast in his place.
“Girls, keep him down while I make the ritual circle.!” Scarlet told the two Power Ponies as she took out a piece of white chalk and began drawing the circle.
The electric hoofarangs was starting to lose their charge and Black Beast was beginning to move again. Luckily, Zapp zap him again with her lightning strikes.
“There I'm finished!” Scarlet Knight said, showing a complete ritual circle. “Quick bring the Beast here!”
“And just how the hell are we suppose to do that?!” Mare-Velous questioned.
“Leave that to me.” Zapp lifted the lightning bolt pendent in the air and twirl it around. Suddenly the air around the Beast began circling around him. The air move faster, becoming wind. The little wind then turns into a miniature tornado that lifted the Beast up. Zapp commanded the tornado to move to where the ritual circle is and drop the Beast on it.
“Quick Scarlet! Perform the ritual before he gets up!”
“Already on it!”
Scarlet Knight began saying the magic words. It sounded like gibberish, but the spell was working. The circle started to glow and form a barrier around the Black Beast. The Beast slam himself against the magical barrier, but proves to be useless.
As the light of the circle, glowed more brighter. Scarlet Knight had to say the last few words of the spell before finally ridding the city of the Black Beast once and for all.
However, before she could utter those words. Several balls of fire came down upon them, interrupting the ritual. The three mares turn to see who was attacking them. What they saw was large black rock shaped pony with red cracks all over his body. The fiery pony glare menacingly at the three surprised mares.
“Scarlet Knight!” The pony screamed.
“Um you know this pony?” Zapp asked.
“Yes, I do actually.” Scarlet answered. “Her name is Quartz AKA Magma Mare. Use to go by the name Golem, but changed after she absorbs the lava gem. This granted her the power to control lava, but at the great cost of altering her body. She now melts everything she touches and blame us for it.”
“What, why?”
“She said that we forced her to take the gem when we tried to apprehend her a while back.”
“Hey, if you're done providing exposition, how about telling us how to deal with this mare!” Mare-Velous shouted.
“I know how to deal with this.” Zapp said, she then used her pendent to call forth a powerful blizzard to attack Magma Mare.
“You do realize that she's made of lava right?” Mare-Velous pointed out and watch as the blizzards melts away.
“OK not exactly my best moves.”
“Zapp, summon a downpour on her!” Scarlet yelled.
The Pegasus mare was about to do that, before quickly evading an attack from Magma Mare.
“Scarlet Knight! You and your buddies did this to me! I'll have my vengeance!” Magma Mare then launched more fireballs at the three heroines.
Scarlet Knight reacted quickly and cast a bubble shield around herself and two companions. Once she dropped her shield, Mistress Mare-Velous jumped out and threw an explosive hoofarang at Magma Mare. The explosion made her stumble back a bit, leaving herself vulnerable to another attack.
Zapp, once again call for the downpour and this time she succeeded. A small dark gray cloud appeared out of nowhere, it then let out a huge amount of rain on the Magma Mare. Each raindrop that made contact with her body, evaporated into smoke.
The downpour did its work and made Magma Mare into a basalt statue.
“Well that takes care of her.” Zapp stated.
“Yeah, but look.” Mare-Velous pointed to the empty spot where the Black Beast was. “The Beast is gone and so is Crimson Knight!"
“Damn the Beast must have taken him away while we were fighting.” Zapp pointed out.
“Come on, let's go after the him while his trail is still warm.” Scarlet Knight went after the Black Beast, with Zapp and Mistress Mare-Velous following soon after.
Meanwhile, on the side of the city, Steedfast just entered a random building which turns out to be his team's Headquarter. It's not the most impressive superhero HQ, as this place was an abandoned apartment, but it was enough for a base of operation. The stallion looked around and found nopony in sight.
“Where the hell is everypony?” He asked out loud.
As he trots around, he heard some sound coming from one of the rooms. It sounded like somepony talking, but because of the wall it sounded all muffled up. “Marvel Mare? Is that you in there?” Suddenly the door opened, revealing a brown stallion with a blue sweater.
“Something you want, Steedfast?”
“Oh thank goddess, you're here Horsepower. Where are Wonder Mare and Marvel Mare?”
“They're out on patrol, why?”
“The Black Beast attacked the two Power Ponies and kidnapped Crimson Knight!”
“What!” Horsepower said, sounding shocked.
“Sir, we need you your help to take down the Beast.”
“Very well Steedfast, you lead the way.” He said as he followed the young stallion out of the old building.
Back to the three mares, Scarlet Knight managed to track the Black Beast to a construction site. The mare peak in and saw the large black creature laying on the dirt, with his prey, laying unconsciously near him.
“So is the Beast in there?” Mistress Mare-Velous asked, in which Scarlet silently nodded in response.
“The Beast is still recovering from the prevoius battle."
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Zapp bump her two front hooves together. “Let's go in their and kick his ass.”
Before the pegasus mare can go in, she was stop by the unicorn mare. “Not so fast, Zapp, I have a much better plan.”
Inside the construction site, the Black Beast continued to lay on the ground. At first glance, somepony might think it's asleep. But, in realty he is actually on ready to stroke. He remains alert, looking and hearing anything that might approach him.
His ears caught the sound of something moving and turn to see what it was. When he found nothing, he hears the same sound again, but this time to his left. Turning to his left, he found nothing again. Suddenly the cracking noise of thunder came from outside. Since it was clear sky outside, it could be one thing.
The Black Beast got up and went into a combat stance. He let out a low, yet threatening growl meant to show that he means business. Out from the shadow a horseshoe was thrown and was making its way to him.
The Beast swapped it away with his claw and lunge in the direction where the projectile came from. A black silhouette of a pony ran out from the spot and made a beeline to the exit. The Beast saw this and chase after the pony. Once he was out, he was immediately struck by lightning. Shocked, the Beast fell down and roll into a drawn ritual circle.
“Nice going girls, it's time to send him back.” Scarlet Knight said. “Mare-Velous go inside and take my mentor to the hospital, Zapp stay here and shock the Beast if he tried to get up.” The two Power Ponies nodded their heads and split, leaving Scarlet to begin the ritual.
As she say the magic words, the ritual circle glowed once again, trapping the injured Beast inside. The Black Beast looked around and saw the situation he was in. Despite being injured, he still have one last trick to play.
Outside the circle, Zapp sees the Black Beast blue glowing veins appearing on his skin. Knowing what was coming, she move her pendent to summon another lightning strike. The cracking sound of thunder, came down upon the Beast. However, to her shock, the Beast dodge the strike and the lightning hit the ground, destroying the ritual circle.
With the circle gone, the spell was no longer in effect. Leaving only a blue vein glowing Beast in its place. The creature leap after the unicorn mare, intending to kill her. Just as he was about to reach her, something tackle him away from his prey.
The Black Beast was knock down to the ground and before he can get up, somepony smack him down. That pony turns out to be Steedfast. The stallion continues to punch the Beast down, preventing him from getting up.
Having enough of this stallion punches, the Black Beast used his incredible speed and grab the stallion with his claw. He squeezed the stallion, crushing him within his grip.
Steedfast felt his strength fading as he feels his insides being crushed. However, the stallion wasn't worried about dying, since he knows that somepony has his back.
“Let him go you bastard!” The Black Beast then felt a painful shock coming from his left side. Horsepower channel the power of electricity into his two front hooves and used it to punch the large dark monster.
The Beast let go of Steedfast, as another electrical punch hit him in the sides. Like Steedfast, Horsepower kept on beating the Beast down. The creature took a few swipes, but the old stallion easily evaded them and continue to punch the Beast.
Zapp watch the elderly stallion in action while Scarlet was tending to Steedfast. The mare was amaze at how skilled the stallion, watching this old guy hold his own against the Beast.
With one strong punch, their fight lead them right into the construction site. Zapp decided to follow after them, in case he needed her help. However, when she entered the site, she can already see that the fight was over. Horsepower, stood in front of the injured Beast, staring down at him.
She was about to go down there and congratulate him, but stopped when he charged up his front hooves. He placed his two hooves to the Beast's head and send out a powerful jolt, that fried his brain. The Beast let out a painful yell, before it diied down.
Zapp stood there, shocked at what she just witness. “What the hell did you do!” She yelled at the stallion, causing him to turn his head around. He didn't answer her question, choosing to instead to keep silent. “I asked you a question!” She yelled at him once more.
“What had to be done.” He said, regrettably. Horsepower then left the site. Leaving behind a dead Beast and shocked Mare behind.
