CAKEBEARD:
A stern-looking, scar-eyed captain, the moving marble statue of a goddess, seemingly birthed from the white foam of Poseidon’s seas. She bears both the wings of Pegasi and the magic of Unicorns, but the events of her past only the sun and the Dread Pirate herself shall know.
SPARKLE:
The bookish first mate of the schooner christened as Devil’s Food, wise with words but naïve with the world’s mechanics, who doubles as the quartermaster. She had known the captain for three years and the Dread Pirate’s origins eluded her even then. She is the spinner of this romantic yarn.
PINK’MENA:
A pink Earth mare bathing in the endless cascades of joy and excitement. She has appointed herself the ship’s jester—a title she holds in high regards—and enforces her unofficial rule of “only smiles aboard this ship.” To her, life is a cup full of chocolate rain.
SKITTLES:
The extraordinarily loyal and colorful second mate of the crew with a lurid and self-righteous disposition. A life on the high seas, for her, equals life in constant adventure. She is nicknamed after the polychromic state of her mane and tail, and pray for those that have tasted the rainbow.
DISCORD:
A creature with a scrambled body, a chaotic mind, and the saber of a commodore. From the way he speaks, he has known Cakebeard longer than anypony still drawing a breath, but the way he wields his unique magic suggests that he is merely pulling everypony’s leg.
SHIMMER:
The latest predecessor of Sparkle, who became a captain by breathing a word to the rest of the crew. Her head is always calculating something, and the world is a chessboard to this Unicorn. But her desire of control begs the question: was Cakebeard really the traitorous one that night?
CENDIO:
A spitfire of a Pegasus mare and an acquaintance of Cakebeard with an aggressive nature and a no-nonsense attitude that has made her a feared Neightalian name upon the stretches of blue water. Unfortunately for Captain Shimmer, she holds onto grudges as if they were made of unblemished diamond.
APPLEJACK:
Proprietor of the Adam’s Apple, a hotel and tavern in the bay city of Port Canterlot that caters especially to maritime ponies, so it is no surprise that she knows a few privateers, both with and without letters of marque, and found the old journal of one.
