My little Step brothers: The flying Costarby HalfRailChaptersChapter 1: Beggars ARE ChoosersChapter 2: Warning: Approach with caution and FOODChapter 3: UNEXPECTED GroundingChapter 4: Time travel for DummiesChapter 1: Beggars ARE ChoosersIt was midnight in the Canterlot train station. The ponies inside and the guards outside were all working the graveyard shift. This of course wasn't normal. Everypony usually clocks out before it even gets dark. "Man, I can't believe we got called in this late. Whats the big deal," a stallion inside the station ruffed out. His voice matching how much consciousness he had left. "I don't remember any special event taking place in Canterlot," he rambled looking on his calender. "Didn't you hear," a mare called out from the other side of the station."A bunch of ponies from Manehattan are coming to Canterlot for business, stock trade, and a bunch of other corporate stuff that I can't even begin to rap my mind around. All I know is: Manehattan, ponies, business, money. That's all I want to know, that's all I have to know and that's all i'm gonna know since this is the last day." She seemed to have a more cheerful attitude, due to the fact that it was the last day of the Manehattan ponies coming in by train. Outside, there were two unicorn guards side by side with their horns lit up to bring more illumination the light posts weren't giving them. "I seriously don't wan't to deal with those Manehattan jerks anymore. They must be the ruddiest in all of equestria," one of the guards ranted to the other. Having dealt with this ranting for a few hours now the other simply rolled his eyes. He wasn't very fond of Manehattan ponies either. In fact he could imagine a life without them, but granted this was the last day of the week, which of course meant last last horde of nocturnal ponies. If he could deal with the final day so could his partner. "Eh, would'ya quit whining. I hate whiners. And I'm gonna hate you a lot more if you don't shut the heck up, okay?" His partner gave nothing but a simple nod before turning to the tracks. It wasn't until minuets later they could hear the sound of an approaching train. With a sigh that had annoyance and a touch of relief, the guards went to the separate edges of the station. The sound of the horn was heard and a bright headlight could be seen as the train pulled into the station. The train cars opened simultaneously and a large number of ponies exited the train. All of them appeared to be wide awake as they were all having conversations with each other as they went into the station. As the number of ponies began to decrease a hazel unicorn mare with a rusty red mane and reading glasses stopped just after she got out of the car. She turned around and looked back into the car as if she was looking for someone. "Cash!" She yelled into the car, she obviously was becoming impatient with a certain colt that was laying down comfortably on the train benches. "I do not have time for your so called 'Sleep Deprived Disorder' or SDD, as if you needed to clarify it like that. You can get plenty of sleep when your in our apartment, now come on, before Celestia decides to raise the sun," she adjusts her glasses a bit, "and burns my optic nerves." Inside the car, which appeared to be empty except for a colt that began to rise from his deep slumber and sluggishly walked out of the car onto the station platform. This colt was a sight. Starting from him wearing a fishing hat that was obviously to big for his head, he had very seaweed line mane and tail, both in color and texture his eyes were a light brown and his fur was a deep sea dark blue. "Okay, okay ma. I'm up, so can you please stop screaming." The colt rubbed his eyes in exhaustion and gave out a big yawn. If his outward appearance didn't draw eyes, you'd have to either be blind or several feet away not to notice his teeth. They were the spiting image of a sharks. The only difference was that there where two layers instead of three. Anyone who saw this either turned away in fear or began to walk faster. The colt was so tired that he didn't even hear the comments about him. "Can ya at least tell me why we got to take the midnight express, instead of coming in the morning. And why here?" "Well you just couldn't miss your late night brunch, remember?" "No, I don't actually-" HOOF SMACK "Ouch! Why you gotta hit me for?" "To wake you up of course. Now come on, we can't dilly dally all night long, we have to find a taxi cab and find our apartment while everypony is still conscious." The mare activated her magic and began to pull the colt out of the station by his ears, to which he yelled out in aggression but the mare and she ignored every comment as she left the station with Cash trailing against his will. The Canterlot streets became absolutely stressed within minuets. Most of the ponies who came in from the train were travailing by taxi which made so much noise due to the quantity of the taxi's. One window shot open, revealing a middle aged mare with a mud mask, steaming with rage. "What is the meaning of all this no-" her ranting was cut short due to a flying unidentifiable substance hitting her in the face, bringing her back into the window and it falling shut. Deep into the residential areas of Canterlot, ponies were getting off and paying their cab drivers. But while most of them stopped right in front of the apartments, few stopped at the beginnings of alleyways. The mare and the now sleeping soundly shark like colt was one of them. The mare got off the cab and paid the driver with a smile. The driver trotted off and the mare turned to the alley. Skeptical at first, she breathed in and walked into the dark alley. I was very humid, on account of all the hot garbage that was scattered across the alleyway, turning the straight path into a complicated and foul smelling maze. "Oh, my sweet Celestia this place smells horrible. Okay, 202, 202...where the heck is 202- Oh!" Right next to the mare was the back door to her apartment. Giving off a relieved sigh she moved all the trash that was blocking her way and motioned herself up the steps. Her ears perked up as the sound of a trash can rattling in the distance could be heard. Shrugging it off she opend the door with her magic, putting the sleeping colt inside first and then stepped in "Must be a raccoon.." ~The Next Day~ The sun rose above the horizon, the birds chirped on the roofs of several apartments. It was peaceful, of course....that is...until the ear piercing screech. Hundreds of birds all across the residential area of Canterlot flew away, chirping in agony. The screech was in fact snoring. Snoring coming from inside the residential area. The unicorn mare with the rusty red mane entered the room where the snoring was coming from. The culprit was Cash, who's snoring was more of a high pitched screech. Like she was immune to the snoring, the rusty red mare walked up to the colt on the bed with a motherly smile. She gently ran her hoof in her mane and kissed his forehead. She tiptoed out of the room and gently shut the door. Seconds later, with the use of her magic, she burst into the room, slamming the door against the wall in the process. "Cash!! Get your soon to be nonexistent flank up Now!!" The scream proved to be louder than the snoring and Cash's eyes flew open in shock and he jumped off the bed in fear. He landed with a thud and looked up to see the rusty maned mare looking down at him, her motherly expression returning as if it never left. "Morning sweetie." "You're evil." "Oh, come on now. You're starting to sound like my ex's. Now get up. I'm about to get ready to my science convention and you need to guard the apartment for the day. "Why, what are ponies gonna take from us? All we have are those weird beakers, your lab coats, and those small frilly outfits and toys you keep in the drawers for stallions you meet at--" HOOF SMACK "Oww...why do you do that?" "Because you step out of line. Now I made 1st, 2nd, and third brunch with breakfast on the table downstairs. There's no TV, which would explain why everypony here is a bunch'a stuck up schmucks." The rusty maned mare trotted downstairs and Cash followed. She went to get all of her supplies and put them in her saddlebags and although she tried to be sneaky, Cash saw her put in a couple of her frilly outfits. And Cash addressed her immediately. "Okay, so your gonna bring home a nerd?" HOOF SMACK "I suggest you stop talking. No. I'm not bringing home a nerd. These are for if I wanna bring home somepony I find special." "Mm-hm. Celebrity?" "...Yes. Okay, look. Just guard the house for a day and if you don't have the authorities banging down the door, I will do you one favor, and it can be anything. Just don't push your luck. There's a radio in the kitchen so you shouldn't be too bored." She walked up to the radio and turned it on. There was a few seconds of static and then a stallions voice could be herd from the radio. "Well good morning Canterlot. It looks like it is going to be a splendid day here in equestria. As many know of last night was the final night of incoming ponies from out of town for stock." "That's right buddy," another stallion voice said. "Also something very strange happened that same day as a rainbow like sonic boom has was seen by all across Canterlot. A very amazing event if I do say so myself." "I't was, good buddy. And on that same day at that same moment. A very talented filly was named the princesses personal student for successfully hatching a baby dragon. A phenomenal feat! And so young too." "That's right. And I must say, as a unicorn myself, I am a bit jealous." The sound of laughter could be heard after that comment. "So jealous you might go over to that filly and ask her for pointers." "No, I will probably go for her mother.." There was dead silence after that comment. "Well now I know I ain't getting fired.. More after this commercial break. There was static and the sound of classical music played. The rusty maned mare was siting down listening and Cash was on the table next to the radio. "Ma, whats a princess?" "They are the leaders of--" She was cut short at the ring of a door bell. The rusty maned mare got up and opend the door. At the door was a stallion who was supposed to take her to the convention. Exchanging glances the mare turned her attention away from the stallion and to Cash. "Remember, i'll be home at night so don't try to do anything stupid okay." Cash roller his eyes at the mare and waved her off with one hoof while his other was fiddling with the radio. "Okay, I get it. You can go now. I wont try anything promise." The mare knew better to believe a word that was coming out of his mouth. It would have been more convincing if he was looking at her and not the radio. Rolling her eyes she went outside and closed the door gently, leaving the shark like colt by himself. ~a few hours later~ "Arrrghh!! This is just straight impossible! I can't find junk on this thing!" Cash has been fiddling with the nobs on the radio for hours trying to find something that he can sit through. But it was obvious that wasn't happening. "How long have I been on this thing! And how many friggen channels are there?! So far I found sports, comedy, which I kind of enjoyed to a fault, shopping network, they could be spitting lies for all anypony cares. But who's to say? They cant friggen see the object! Cooking. Ohoho, the cooking channel! I tried one of the recipes and the pot started to boil after a few minuets AND I DIDN'T EVEN TURN THE STOVE ON!!" Cash focused his rage to the radio, picked it up, and started to shake it violently. "What the heck am I conjuring Ms. Butterworth?! What??!!" Cash threw the radio at the wall and it began to play classical music. "Argh!" He would have directed his rage to something else if his highly sensitive ears didn't pick up something from outside. Cash went out the back door into the alley. It smelled horrible. There were rats, a few cats and some hanging bats. Smelled just like home. But Cash wasn't here long enough to feel homesick so it was like he never left. In the distance, Cash saw a trash can rattling. Having his curiosity take over, Cash walked up to the can and put his hoof on it. Without warning, the trash can fell on top of him and a large puffy objected bounced out. Cash threw the can off of him with ease and the puff ball jumped onto him without warning and spoke. "What the what was that guy?! Who do you think you are pushing over ponies houses like that!? I should have ya sued." The puff ball had a colt like voice and a extremely thick Manehattan accent. It was hard to understand what the puff ball was saying, granted it was right in cashes face. "Whoa, ya look weird. Where are yous from, huh? The fish market? Zehahaahah!!" It seemed like the more the puff ball talked, the less Cash was able to understand what it was saying. "Who-what are you?!" "What am I? Isn't that a little obvious." "Well no, ya kind of look like a fluffy cloud." "Oh, I do? Well i'm sorry about that. Here! Let me make it up to ya!" The colt sounding cloud ran under cash and it began to expand. Seconds later Cash was siting on a cloud several feet wide. The cloud began to rise above the apartments. Cash found himself blocking the morning sun from his eyes. Although at this time of day it wasn't very bright, he still found a need to since his eyes were sensitive. Cash couldn't even utter a word about the view since the cloud took off into the distance across Canterlot. Reaching 100 mps, the cloud ran circles above Canterlot before coming to a stop above a building. The cloud let Cash drop to the roof of the building with a thud and returned to its normal size. "So? How was it?" Cash couldn't say anything. His heart was beating too fast and he blew chunks across Canterlot. After slowing his breathing slightly he opend his mouth to reply, but closed it back and ran to the edge of the roof to throw up again. "Oh hoho, that is so, so...nasty" The cloud rose up into the air and began to shrink. From the cloud, small chocolate brown hooves appeared. Followed by the cloud parting to a cloud like mane and tail. On the flank of the colt appeared to be a exclamation mark right beside a question mark. Cash wasn't even going to ask. The now revealed colt opend his eyes to reveal a hot pink color. The colt descended to the ground and held his hoof to Cash. "My names Cammy. Whats yours?" "My name is C....wait...Cammy? That's a girls name!" Cash began to burst out laughing. Cammy's chocolate cheeks turned red with embarrassment. "Shut your fish-head mouth!! Its a neutral name! Neutral!!!" Cammy couldn't help but notice Cash's cutie mark. "Oooh....a shark? What, are you like, a great swimmer or somethin'," "Uhhh...no..not exactly.." "Really? Then whats it mean..." Cammy stoned mid sentence due to a sound coming from right behind him. He couldn't make what was making the sound. It was kind of like a whooshing noise. Cash was wide eyed in shock when he saw what was right behind Cammy. Cammy turned around to see a big blue box that came out of nowhere. "Eh, was that thing there a minuet ago?" Before he could get an answer two ponies came out of the box. One of them was a brown stallion with a slightly darker shade of brown mane and a green tie and a cutie mark that looked like an hour glass. The other was a grey mare with a blonde mane. She had wings and bubbles for her cutie mark. "Ah, look at this miss Hooves. Canterlot six years in the past. Hmm, strange, it doesn't look like there's anything different. Well that's just boring. "I told you six years wasn't far back enough to see any change." "Well excuse me. Since when did you become a time l-" The brown stallion was stopped due to Cash poking his hoof with his own. Cammy trailed back watching as Cash addressed the stallion. "Uhh, excuse me mister. But, where the heck did ya come from?" "Oh yes of course. Did I miss introductions? My apologies, I tend to do that. Anyways, introductions, yes. This one here is my assistant Miss Hooves." She waved her hoof at the colts and began to study them. She could have sworn she's seen them before. "And I'm The Doctor. Its a pleasure to meet you." Chapter 2: Warning: Approach with caution and FOODChapter 2: Warning: Approach with caution and FOOD Under the star night sky, there where lights and taxis hauling ponies back and fourth. The buildings took to the skies and there was little to no reason for street lights, because the buildings illuminated the streets for blocks. There where tons of ponies trotting down the streets, some carrying bags and some admiring the sites. This was Manehattan. And with hundreds of scenery for the spectators foreign to this place. Ranging from giant statues, particular buildings, islands and celebrity ponies in general. The Manehattan bridge is what connects it to equestria, with a nonstop express taking ponies back and fourth. Just under the bridge there was a odd scene occurring. Well, not really a scene, more like an event. And a event of one at the moment as a two unicorn mares were on a boat of the coast of Manehattan. It was unnecessarily dark, considering they were directly under the bridge. One of these mares was a light orange unicorn with a blue mane. She was in the middle of the boat concentrating her magic to keep the area they were in lit up. The other was a hazel unicorn with a rusty red mane. She wore glasses and was putting on what appeared to be scuba gear. "Ugh. Why does this gear have to be so tight? Its so uncomfortable." She was struggling to get her fore hooves into the suit. When she finally succeeded she let out a sigh and went for the mask. "Really, May? Compared to the other stuff I've seen you put on I'd though this would be cake." The other mare started to giggle to herself and MaeMae shot daggers before putting the mask on. "Would you shut up Tick! Those aren't the same. Those outfits are more comfortable and feel good to move around in." "I bet they feel better when somepony takes them..." "Shut up!!" May was starting to turn a bright red under her mask and Tick just laughed louder. "I'm kidding, i'm kidding. No need to get all touchy on me. Anyways are you gonna get down there and collect some clams or not? Its almost midnight and its getting really cold." Tick shivered to show just how cold it was, but MaeMae shrugged it off because she knew she was faking. There was a cage at the edge of the boat that was big enough to hold five ponies. May climbed in and closed the cage behind her with her magic. She turned her head and waved off to Tick, signaling that she was ready. Tick nodded her head and went to the controls for the cage. She put her hoof on the lever marked "descend" and pulled it down. After a few loud gear noises, the cage began to sink into the water slowly. Before May was completely submerged, Tick put on special head phones hat allowed her to speak with May. "Now remember: At the sign of anything that can be proved to be dangerous you pull the emergency lever in there, okay?" "I got ya." May began to rise in the cage as the water came in. Seconds later she was completely submerged. It was pitch black other than her horn which provided little but useful light. Some small fish began to swim in and out of the cage, this was a sign that she was deep underwater. Suddenly the cage came to an abrupt stop. This wasn't a problem because it just meant that the rope attached to the cage has ended. May opend the cage doors and swam out, not closing it back. She was about forty meters below sea level when Tick's voice was heard in her mask. "You doin' alright May?" "Yeah I'm fine. I'ts dark as heck but i'm fine." May reached the sea floor. She was now sixty meters below sea level. Finding it a little hard to breath, she turned on the oxygen tanks attached to her suit. As she was swimming she began to experience slight static. She was getting too far from Tick. It wasn't just the distance, the interference was coming from the giant stalks of seaweed she was swimming through. "Ugh, this sea grass or kelp...or...whatever is screwing with me!" May tried to adjust her mask to get a better signal but nothing worked. Then something out of the ordinary came from out in the distance. It sounded almost like crying. May pushed over the seaweed that was blocking her vision and increased the light her horn emitted. What she saw in the meters ahead of her shocked her to the point of almost screaming. She didn't know what the things were. They looked like ponies but they weren't...well on top they were but on the bottom it looked like they were part fish. MaeMae tried to get up closer but one of the creatures heard her and took a defensive stance. May held her hooves up in defense but couldn't help but realize that the other creature was indeed crying and holding something small. Above sea level, on the boat, Tick is becoming unbelievably frantic. She lost contact with May for was actually minuets, but seemed like a few hours. She paced back and fourth on the boat with her headphones on in hopes of getting contact back. Instead of a voice, she heard a sound. A familiar sound. A sound that restored hope into the mare that was just about to give up. It was the sound of the gears of the cage. The rope was rising and the cage soon appeared from out of the water. Once the cage opend, Tick rushed into the cage, not giving May time to get out and embraced her in a hug. "Oh, sweet Celestia May! I thought you were dead!" Tick held the embrace for a good while until she realized May was holding something in her hoof. "Uh, May. What's that ya got there?" "Umm....well..i'll explain to ya when we get back to the apartment, kay?" ~half an hour later in May and Ticks apartment~ "...." "...." "...a colt..." "Uh..yeah.." "A COLT!!" Tick exploded with shock and rage. May quickly put her hoof over her mouth for being to loud. In May's room on her bed rapped in seaweed was in fact a colt. Tick removed May's hooves from her face and her voice became a whisper. "Exactly where'd you find him. You were underwater for Celestias sake! And exactly what kind of colt is he? Look at him. No horn, no wings. Just scaly fur and really, really sharp teeth. Like a sharks!" "Okay, okay now, just calm down and listen. This is what happened..." ~flashback~ May held her hooves up in fear. She didn't know what the creatures were, but she knew that she didn't want to alarm them in any way. But her focus was still on the one who was crying. It sounded like a mare's cry. But it couldn't be. That wasn't a mare. Was it? "H-he is going to die," The one who was crying finally spoke up. It was defiantly a mares voice. The other, who was in front of May swam to her side, embracing her, eyes glancing down to what she was holding, tears starting to form in the creatures eyes. Given from its torso, compared to the one it was holding, it appeared to be a stallion holding a mare. "No my sweet, please don't say that." The stallion-like creature kissed the mare-like creatures forehead. May wasn't sure to expect anymore. She started to put her hooves down and she just floated in the water watching the events take place. "We have tried everything, and nothing worked. You know as well as I that no amount of magic can fix this." The mare-like creature began to cry even more, embracing whatever she was holding even tighter. "Curse my genetics! I have cursed our baby to death." Not wanting to hear anymore of what the she was saying, the stallion broke his embrace from her and put his hooves on her face and motioned it to his and stared directly into her eyes. "Do not say that!" The two stared deeply into each others eyes for a good second before returning to an embrace. May still wasn't completely sure what was going on, but enough has happened to the point where she wanted to find out more. She started to swim closer to the two still keeping her distance. She didn't know why, but since she could understand what they were saying, maybe it would be vise versa. "Um, excuse me. Do you two need help? The stallion turned his head sharply to May. Eyes filled with rage and tears."Back away from us now!" May put her hooves up defensively again, but this time she wasn't terrified. "It's alright. I mean you two no harm. I just want to know what is happening so I can help you." The stallion bared his teeth at May. But before he could do anything, the mare stopped him. "Wait," she said before she turned to May. "You can understand us, can't you?" After that, May became wide eyed. The mare said it as though this didn't happen every day. Fear and shock slowly creeped into her expression under her scuba mask as she responded. "W-well I-I guess so. In any case, can you two please tell me what is going on here. And while your at it, can you tell me just what in the heck you two are?" "Oh, my dear apologies. We are merponies, we live in he sea. And for our current situation...well..." Before she could finish her sentence, the stallion swam in front of her." "No! We do not converse wit air breathers. Have you forgotten? It is forbidden!" "My love, she may be he only one who can help us. The only one who can..." She looked down to what she was holding. "...save him." "We cannot. Poseidon had good reason to make it a strict rule that we-" "I REFUSE TO WATCH MY BABY DIE IN MY HOOVES!" Both the stallion and May were speechless. She was holding a baby? May didn't no what to say or do, but her hooves acted on their own as she swam towards the two and the mare swam closer as well, ignoring the stallions objections. "You are one of a kind. I sense no evil inside you. You have a kindred heart that speaks for itself. This.." she held up what she was holding to May. "...is our child. He is but one years of age and yet he shows no physical sign of his kin, but the striking appearance of his father." She turned to the stallion who was right behind her with a smile and he smiled back. "I always wanted an aire to carry my blood. I was expecting a daughter but..I got a son." The stallion was beginning to tear up more as he spoke while at the same time trying to wipe away the tears. "I didn't care that he didn't inherit the physical appearance of his kin. But I didn't realize the..problem...until..t-the doctors.." He quickly became to choked up to speak and the mare continued where he left off. "The doctors said that his lungs developed faster than his gills. It was unimaginably rare to happen, but me having earth pony blood within me increased the odds." The mare was soon becoming too choked up to speak as well. "T-they said that if his development doesn't increase on the exponential rate he will..die. We tried nearly every biological to health spell in the book, preformed by the most skilled, but the result always came up short. They said that his fate was...." The mare stopped when May held up her hoof to her. "I think I got what your saying, okay? You don't need to say anything else." May held both her hooves out to the mermare and she took a second to understand what it meant. Hesitating slightly she handed her foal that was rapped head to hoof in some kind of special seaweed because she could feel him breathing as if he wasn't rapped up at all. "I will give it my best to make sure that he will be loved by everypony he meets, you can count on that." The mermare was so overjoyed that her foal actually had a chance at life that she pulled May into a tight embrace and May made sure the foal wasn't in the way. " I can't even begin to think of a way to show my gratitude." "Well, I think the oxygen robbing hug is enough," she managed to get out. The mermare released he and looked to the rapped up foal with tears in her eyes. She gently caressed him and kissed it, as did the father shortly after. "Okay um..i'll make sure that he will see you two in time. Trust me, i'll make sure he grows up strong" "We couldn't ask for anything else. Thank you." May was beginning to have tears roll down her eyes in her mask. She nodded off the merponies and waved to them goodbye and swam off to the cage and pulled the emergency lever. ~End of flashback~ "...and that's what happened. Well besides what happened after that, you know, taking a cab back to the apartment, but yeah, that's it." Tick was utterly speechless. Her jaw hung open for a good second before she snapped herself out of her trance. "Wait a minuet, hold up. Your telling me that you saw merponies, you understood them and swore to take care of their colt? "That is the shortened version, but yes." "That's freaking amazing! May that's something for the history books right there.A genetically split foal with the dna of an earth pony and a sea pony, with little to no odds of the combination even happening? Well that's just-" Tick was silenced again by May's hoof pressed up against her mouth. "Would you be quiet for a dang minuet. Jeez. Look i'm not even sure if I actually want to raise him. And I already know what your gonna say, 'But you promised!' Yeah, I know I promised, but look at me. I'm 18 years old, I just moved out of my parents house a year ago and everything is going great. And I don't know if you've noticed, but i'm not exactly 'mother' material. I say we just give him to a nice home, obviously not one here and..." "Mama?" "....W-what?" May became speechless as she turned her head to the foal who was wide awake and looking at her. "Ma..ma.." The colt rolled to his stomach and began to crawl towards May. "Would you look at that! He thinks your his mother. You have to take care of him now. And on a side note, one years old and he can speak? That's impressive." "Wha..no..I.. did you not hear me? Have you gone deaf the last five seconds? I CANT raise a foal. And of course he thinks i'm his mother, I...wait...why does he think i'm his mom? He's one, he should have seen his mother a few times." "Well maybe you have a certain quality inside you that matches with his actual mom, and he's so young he can't even tell the difference yet." Tick put a reassuring hoof on May's shoulder. "Look, May, you have to take care of this colt. What more does he have to do to get your approval." "No..well, it's just that..I...argh. Okay you know what fine! I'll be his mom." "Yes! Good mare." Tick gave May a few short glances back and fourth between May and the colt. "Well?" "Well what?" "Well, what are you gonna call him? I'ts gonna be very hard growing up and he doesn't have a name" "Oh, yeah. A name. Right...umm.." May gave the colt a glance before turning back to Tick. "Well he kind of reminds me of money soooo....how about Cash?" Tick just gave May a shrug. "Who the heck am I to argue with the mother. I think Cash is a great name." "Yeah.." May continued to stare at the foal unsure of herself. But that stare soon turned into a smile. "I think you and I are gonna be wonderful together." The smile was soon replaced with a look of worry when the foals stomach growled and uttered one word that sent a shiver down May's spine. "Hungry." "Oh, boy." Tick turned to May and put her hoof on her shoulder. "Good luck." Chapter 3: UNEXPECTED Grounding It was morning. Celestia has just began to rise the sun over the horizon. Weather ponies had began to do their jobs. Coming down from Cloudsdale to Ponyville, Canterlot, las pegasus, etc. Equestria had just finished it's year long rain and it was time to clean up. "Whoo, I just cant wait until all this rain is cleared up. Its been ruining me all year long." "I honestly doubt that the rain is whats ruining you, Jack. You know as well as everpony on this weather team that you not being able to have a decent marefriend has nothing to do with the rain," another working pegasus said with a joking tone in his voice. Jack just ignored him. "Ah, shut up,Cleaver, ya big palooka. In fact, why don't ya just fly over here and say that to my face!" Cleaver stopped what he was doing and began to fly slowly towards Jack, with a rather violent expression on his face. Before the two could get any closer, another pegasus pony came in between them and held up his hooves to them. "Guys, come on. Why do you always have to do this so early in the morning." The pegasus said in a very calm voice as his head shifted back and fourth between two ponies. Jack, is a yellow pegasus with a pitch black mane, slightly more built than the other two and Cleaver is a tan pegasus with a pitch black mane. Besides for the pegasus between them, these two were brothers. "I mean seriously, do you even know what day it is? And your acting like this? Shame on you both." The two stallions thought for a second about what the pegasus between them was talking about. Then, like a bolt of lightning, reality struck them and they both face hoofed and the sound echoed throughout the sky. "Ah, jeez. Look, real sorry, Jerry." "Yeah. But come on, ya gotta cut us some slack here. You know how we get when were agitated." Once the two were done with their version of what a apology should sound, Jerry put his hooves down and let out a big sigh. They didn't really care and they knew Jerry didn't care one way or the other, he just wanted to hear something. Before he could respond though, Jerry found himself grunting in pain as the two brothers sandwiched him in mid air. Cleaver took it upon himself to give Jerry a powerful noogie. "Haha! So how does it feel kid?" Cleaver said as he finished the noogie on Jerry's snow white hair. Jack continued where he left off. "First ya marry our sister and now your gonna have a foal! C'mon, be honest. Your ecstatic, you gotta be!" Jerry was too busy cringing in pain as both brothers who were slightly more built than he was. Not to mention the burning sensation on his head. Deciding that they have had their fun, the brothers moved away from the white maned and blue coated stallion. Jerry let out the king of sigh you hear when you've held your breath for too long and began panting while subconsciously flapping his wings. After he caught second wind, he rubbed his still burning scalp. "Well, guys, I wouldn't really say that i'm ecstatic. More on the lines of really, really nervous. I mean, she is in the hospital now! Not being by her side is killing me. But, we are having a foal and Scenery is in too much pain and the doctors don't want her out of the hospital bed until the baby's born. In fact...I think I remember them saying another week or two! I can't do that! I can't keep our foal away from his mother. That's crazy!" When Jerry was done with his outburst he got a very depressed look on his face and slowly began to work again, forgetting that the brothers where there. Feeling somewhat sympathy for his step brother, Jack put a reassuring hoof on Jerry's shoulder. "Look, Jerry. I don't know if Scenery's told ya this, but...I know full well what its like to be a dad. True. You could say that I wasn't the best...heh...in fact if you said anything along those lines, I would call ya way too polite." Jack gave a hearty chuckle as he continued. Both Jerry and Cleaver remained silent. Though it wasn't something they would ever expect from him, one things foe sure: neither of them wanted him to stop. "But, in all seriousness, I've seen all kinds of parenting. Some that overshadowed my own and some that made mine look like running through a flat field of daisy's. And even though it really isn't saying much, but...at the last second, I gave it everything I could, but it wasn't...I-I was too late to try." Jack was beginning to tear up slightly, but quickly wiped away the sour tears. He didn't want the two to think any less of him. Though...it may have been a little late to think that. Jack cleared his throat and continued. "Listen, Jerry, when I first met ya I didn't like ya. That should't be news. But it wasn't because you were with Scenery. It was because in that moment that I met ya, I knew that you possessed better qualities than I could ever hope for. And those qualities are gonna make you a great father. You understand me?" Jack tried to put authority in his voice but ot didn't work. It just sounded like he was fighting back the tears with all his might. And losing. Jerry didn't hold back anything, he just let the emotions flow. As did Cleaver, but he decided to hide them as well. Also failing. "Thanks Jack. I-It really means a lot that you did that. Honestly." Jerry then pulled Jack into a hug. Jack tried to retain what dignity he had left, but something inside him said, 'Ah, screw it' and he returned the hug. "I know you may have not been the best father. But let me tell you somethin'. Jerry lifted his head slightly from Jacks shoulders. "You"re gonna be equestrias greatest uncle." And at that moment, the word 'manly' was cast aside as all three of the pegasus started to bawl. "Eh, what about me?!" Cleaver manged to get out as tears came down his face like waterfalls. Jerry and Jack both opend the hug and extended their fore hooves to him. "You're in second place ya pansy! Get over here!" Cleaver rushed towards the sobbing stallions to share the moment. Off in the distance, another weather pegasus came over to the group. She was rushing and panting, not to mention didn't have much time to slow down as she caught up with them. She spoke as if she just ran a marathon and didn't have time to breath. "J-Jerry..I have to *pant* tell you something." Moments after he finished the bromance, Jerry rushed over to the panting pegasus. "Hey, Nickle, whats wrong?" "Nothing....is wrong....its..." "We gotta work double shift again" "...no.." "Is ponyville supposed to be expecting another storm? You know I helped with the last one, I don't want to do it again." "No...it has nothing...to do with...the weather." "Ha! So my last date wasn't a one night stand. In your face Cleaver. You were wrong!" Nickle turned sharply to the two brothers as if oxygen was once again breathed into her. "No you idiots! Scenery is in labor!" She shouted as oxygen left her lungs once again and she fainted. Jerry was already holding her so there was no worry of falling. Neither Jerry nor the two brothers said anything, but eventually Jerry broke the silence. "Scenery's in labor? Scenery's in labor! You hear that guys?!" Jerry turned to the brothers with an overjoyed expression and they had the same. "Oh we heard it alright!" "Yeah! You're gonna be a dad." They all cheered and hollered as if they wanted all of equestria to hear the news. " Oh my celestia this is great! Hear take this one, I gotta go." Jerry hoofed over the passed out mare to Cleaver and he set off. And then stopped in mid air meters away from the group. "Hey, Jerry what's wrong?" Jack asked as Jerry just hung there for a few good seconds before saying anything. "I'm gonna be a dad...." Jerry passed out in the sky, the news being too overwhelming for him and Jack caught him and shakes life into him. "Hey, hey, hey. C'mon now. Can't be an uncle if you're dead." "Huh...I..wha...Oh! Scenery, foal, gonna be a dad! Right, gotta go guys!" Jerry said as he zoomed off. The brothers just hung their, waving him off. "What do you mean, you wont be an uncle? You'll still be one, you just wouldn't have a step brother." ~At the Cloudsdale Hospital~ The Cloudsdale hospital was relevantly empty. A couple patients hear and there but other than that, today was a slow day. As it was approaching for visiting hours to be over, Jerry burst through the double doors of the hospital and flew to where his expecting wife was. "Sir, there is no flying through the hospital halls!" "Sorry. Gonna be a dad!" The mare who called out to him continued to protest but Jerry was too far away to hear. He soared through the halls of the hospital occasionally knocking over supplies and other nurses. He apologized every time they fell over. Jerry finally made it to the room. He landed and opened the door, then ran inside forgetting to close it back. "I'm, here! I made it!" Jerry trotted into the room. There were at least four nurses in there and one doctor. The doctor realized his arrival and put a hoof on his shoulder with a smile. "And just in time to." The doctor led Jerry through the room while excusing the nurses to the bed where Scenery was laying in. Scenery, like her brothers, had a pitch black mane and a pink coat. She smiled as she realized Jerry was finally in the room with her and nuzzled her mussel onto something she was holding her hooves. The doctor finally got to the bedside and allowed Jerry to get closer as he stood in place with the nurses. " Mr. Spring, It would be my honor to congratulate you on your healthy baby colt." Jerry was speechless as he went over to the bedside to see his wife hold up the foal. Jerry was beginning to cry again. The foal looked so beautiful. He had a chocolate coat and it looked like he had the same mane as Jerry. Only it looked like tiny little white clouds. "I'm so jealous." Scenery said as she turned her attention from the foal to her husband. "Not only does he have your mane, he has your eyes too." No doubt about it. Jerry and the foal had the same pink eyes. And though he couldn't really explain it he saw something else in his eyes. Something extraordinary. "The only thing that even resembles me on him is the mussel. But, I guess that's enough." Jerry gently pressed his lips against his wife's fore head. She obviously hasn't quite recovered yet after giving birth. "So whats his name?" "Actually, I wanted you here for that. You were always the best in that department." She said as she gave off a small chuckle, that soon turned into a cough. The nurses all came closer to her but Scenery stopped them by holding out her hoof as her other was over her mouth. "Its okay, I'm fine." "Well, okay...um..." Jerry thought for a moment before deciding on a name. "Ha, I got it. How about we name him after your grandma?" "Hmm? You mean Grandma Cammy? But that's a mares name..." Scenery let out another small chuckle and sighed. " I don't know if its the drugs or your influence is finally starting to overwhelm me. But I love it..." Scenery reached for the foal and Jerry gladly gave him to her. "Cammy Spring ll....that has a great ring to it..." Scenery's eyes began to get more heavy and she let out a few more coughs. Before Jerry could say anything one of the nurses in the room walked up to him. " Sir, I am very sorry to say, but there is only five minuets until visiting hours are over. After that, i'm afraid we can no longer allow you in this room." Jerry had his mouth hung open for a good second before sighing. "Hey don't worry." Scenery put her hoof on Jerry's shoulder. "We can make this work." Scenery was then rolled into another room, a nurse took Cammy in the other direction. The doctor gently taped his hoof on Jerry's shoulder and followed the nurses that took Scenery. Jerry held his head down and walked out of the room. Still didn't close it back. "..Yeah..." Jerry glanced into the room again before slowly walking down the hallway. "...its the drugs..." ~Four years later~ Jerry wasn't having the best time. Sure there were other worse situations but this one was very close. Jerry wasn't stressed, he was just starting to be stretched too thin. Cammy was now four years old. He just learned how to walk and talk a two years ago. At the time, Jerry couldn't be more proud. But now he wonders if Celestia gave him a blessing or a curse. "Now, Cammy, I told you not to play with your food." He said as he walked into the kitchen to see Cammy on his high chair, his face covered in applesauce. The small unicorn gave of a smile and a giggle to his father. "But...I...um..uhh..oh, daddy! You have too help me. My hooves don't work right and I can't use uhh...this." The small unicorn said as he tapped his small hoof onto his horn. Which was almost completely covered by his cloud-like mane, so it was hard to see. But the colt was right. Jerry knew of the colts inability to preform magic ever since he came back from the hospital. The doctor said it was because Scenery was in the direct vicinity of somepony smoking....or...was it Scenery who was smoking? It didn't matter really, because almost a year ago, Jerry saw something that can only be explained by magic itself. Regardless on the lack of sense it makes. ~flashback one year ago~ Jerry was woken up by a sudden cry from his colt. He rolled out of his apartment bed and stretched. When he glanced over to the bed again he realized that he was the only one in the bed. "Tch, typical, another mid-night call." Jerry made his way out of the bedroom, through the small hallway and to the room of his screaming colt. He opend the door and smiled as he quietly trotted to his bedside and picked him up in his fore hoof. "Come on buddy, that's the second time tonight. Whats'up?" "Daddy, I had a dream that you and mommy were screaming. And then mommy was gone and you were all alone." There were tears rolling down his small eyes as he jumped up to hug his father tightly. "I didn't want her to go so I screamed...c-can I please sleep with you guys tonight?" He pleaded to his father. Jerry was silent, he had absolutely no idea what to say but he had to think of something. Then an idea hit him an he removed Cammy from his neck and gently placed him back in his bed. "Now buddy, you know you won't grow up fast if you keep sleeping with your mom and dad. And you know how cramped it gets when there is more than two ponies on the bed. You know that." "Oh, I can make myself smaller! Watch!" Cammy scrunched his body together in an attempt to make himself look smaller, but only ended up making himself sneeze. Jerry chuckled as he ran his hoof in Cammy's cloud-like mane. "No buddy its not that. But nice try though. Listen hear is what I want you to do. I want you to close your eyes and picture yourself in a field with sheep. Now there is going to be a lot of sheep and I want you to count them." "Aww, that sounds like work, though.." "You need work to get by....and no more visits from uncles Jack and Cleaver. Your starting to get an accent. Now, I want you to count some sheep, okay? "..Okay." "Alright then." Jerry kissed Cammy's fore head and quietly left the room and closed the door. Cammy sighed and stared up to the ceiling. "Count sheep, huh.." Cammy closed his eyes and rolled to his side. In his head he imagined a field of grass with sheep on it and without hesitation he began to count. He started off rather quickly and slowed down after a short moment. "One, two, three...four....five.......six." Cammy was now in a deep slumber as his fathers trick worked. That was until...something started to happen. Cammy's horn began to create white smoke. The smoke slowly expanded until Cammy's entire bed was covered by it. Then the smoke moved to the floor and up the walls and to the ceiling. The smoke soon covered his room in a dense fog. If one was standing in the middle of the room, they wouldn't be able to see three feet ahead of them. A few seconds later the fog began to clear. But instead of his room being revealed, instead there was no room at all. The floor was replaced by a thick field of grass and a fence in front of Cammy's bed. The ceiling and walls were gone. The only thing that was left of his room was his door and his bed. Beyond that was a seemingly endless field of grass under a starry night sky. Then it started to get even more weird. Sheep, cows and all other kinds of barn animals...including an actual barn, appeared in a puff of smoke and floated in mid air. The air itself was now visible as blue currents. All of the animals were making noises and Cammy was seemingly unaffected by it. Jerry was finally enjoying his peace and silence until he was woken up by another noise that came from Cammy's room. But the odd thing was, he was certain it wasn't Cammy but a....cow? Preparing for the worst, Jerry grabbed a baseball bat from the side of his bed and quietly but quickly made his way to Cammy's room. When he quickly opend the door, his jaw dropped and the bat fell out on the...grassy field. Jerry scratched his head in complete confusion. "Uhh, Cammy? W-what's going on?" He asked as he saw his colt on the bed snoring soundly. He ran his way over to him, jumping over the fence and began to shake Cammy. "Cammy! Cammy, buddy, wake up!" The colt began to roll to his back and yawned. The grassy field slowly becoming smoke and made its way up the bed and back into Cammy's horn. It was as if Cammy's horn was a tornado as the smoke spiraled back into his horn and his room was coming back into vision. Cammy slowly opend his eyes and stared up to his dad. "Daddy? What's wrong? I was sleeping." He groaned out as he yawned again. Jerry was completely speechless from the event and breathless from the wind. What just happened? Jerry couldn't find anything to possibly explain what he saw. "Uhh..you...I-I was just checking up on you. You know, I didn't really hear anything and I got worried. I didn't know you were actually sleeping. Won't happen again okay." "Okay, that's fine." he sheepishly replied as he rolled over to his side. "Goodnight." "Uh, yeah, goodnight buddy." Jerry gently kissed Cammy's fore head and bean to walk out of the room and gently closed the door. His completely confused expression replaced with a brightened smile. "That really is an extraordinary unicorn." ~End flashback~ Chapter 4: Time travel for Dummies"You're a doctor? Like a "doctor" doctor, or , like, a medical doctor? "Uhh, i,m just the doctor" "Oh, ya like a mental doctor? "No." "A dental doctor?" "That is a dentist, not a doctor.." The two colts continued to bombard the stallion with questions. Which all turned out to be the same questions, but worded differently. The doctor was getting very irritated and held up his hoof to stop the colts. He then rubbed his head, attempting to prevent a migraine. "I am just THE DOCTOR!" " How many times are ya gonna say that? The "doctor"? Doctor what? Doctor who.." Cammy was stopped mid sentence by Cash, who waked him in the fore head. leaving a rather large, throbbing lump. "Ahhh..that seriously hurt dude.." Cammy then got up in a red rage and closed in on Cash. "Aye! Just who the heck do ya think ya are guy?!! Where do ya get off hitting ponies all random like ya--" Cammy was stopped by Cash's hoof being brought down on his head. Leaving another large lump. "Ow, ow, ow, ow..." "Okay so you're not a doctor, that much I can see. But, can you still tell me just where ya'll came from? One minute, I'm blowing chunks, the next, that blue...uhh, thing appears out of nowhere." "Ah, yes, about that, you see I'm..." the grey mare quickly put her hoof over the doctors mouth and whispers something into his ear. The doctors eyes widened in shock as if he just remembered something and looked back to the colts. Cash was somewhat impatiently tapping his hoof and Cammy was holding his head in pain. "..well you see, this here is called the Tardis. It is my ship and it allows me to travel through time and space with my partner here." The doctor explained. Cash arched an eyebrow in confusion. His sensitive hearing allows him to tell whenever someone lies. And after the stallion explained himself, Cash got no trace of a lie. Either the stallion was incredible at lying, or Cash was still dazed. "Okay...I guess." "Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Yous telling me that, that...uhh, box..thing can take ya through time and space. Like, beyond planets?! "That's what I just said. Yes." "That is too totally friggen cool. I only read that junk in comic books." Cammy exclaimed. He began to jump around the rooftop in excitement. Cash followed the jumping colt with his eyes and a deadpan glance. "Ya don't seriously believe this guy, do ya?" "Oi!" Was all that came out of Cammy's mouth as he zoomed to the two adult ponies on a small cloud. "Eh, do you think there will be enough room in there for me?" Cammy didn't give them time to answer as he zoomed into the blue box. At first there was dead silence, then out of nowhere, a high pitched scream, that could have easily been mistaken for a fillies erupted from the box. "Why is that not a common reaction?" The doctor stated. "Usually, everybody has a expression as if they had seen a ghost. This is much more fun!" The doctor stated joyfully. The grey mare just rolled her eyes with a smirk. Cash jumped at the sudden screech. He had gotten a new expression that he never had before. Panic. Cash adjusted his too big of a fish hat and looked to the adult ponies, who seemed to be enjoying themselves. "Hold up! Just what in the heck is in there?! Why did he scream?!" "Well it wouldn't do you any good if I just sat back and told you.."the stallion and the mare parted away to different sides of the blue box and the doctor extended his hoof to it, "..why don't you go in and find out for yourself." Cash was starting to get very nervous. Surprisingly, more nervous than he's ever been and it showed. Adjusting his fish hat again, Cash slowly and cautiously approached the box. "Well, go on then! No reason to be scared." "Are you kidding me?! There's plenty reason to be scared." Cash replied to the stallion, his voice slightly quivering. Before Cash could even get his hoof onto the door, it burst open and a rather exited Cammy flew out on his cloud and circled it. He flew back in a few times, only to pop back out seconds later. All this time he seemed to be cheering at the top of his lungs. Cash tried to follow the over ecstatic colt, but he was too fast. "W-wait a minute. What did you see?!" Cash yelled, hoping his voice would reach the colt. After performing a few summer salts in the air, Cammy rocketed at the colt connecting a blurred tackle. "Get in there and see for yourself, kid!" Cammy shouted as Cash flew into the blue box, desperately holding on to his fish hat. A few odd seconds went by and Cash felt his mussel connect with something hard. Something metal. Cash got to his hooves and rubbed his nose. He was going to turn around and scold the other colt, but Cash was left silent when he realized the colt was several feet away. "Uhhh...I...what..", was all that Cash managed to say as his eyes wandered around where he was. Cash couldn't put it to words. It was like seeing a magic trick for the first time. If magic didn't already exist. It was something Cash was very familiar of, but was still breathless whenever he saw it. It was so SyFy futuristic. There was metal, weird panels, crazy patterns on the walls. After a few minutes of touring the amazingly roomy space, Cash walked out to see the three ponies with grins on there faces. Cash turned around again to see that he just walked out of the weird blue box. Cash trotted around the box a few times and sat down in front of all the ponies again with a hoof on his head, trying to piece everything....or at least something together. Cammy was floating in place snickering to himself and the doctor spoke up. "Well? How was it?" Cash couldn't think of a response. He couldn't think of anything. Cammy floated down to Cash and put a hoof around his shoulder. "C'mon, kid, ya can be honest. Your among friends here." Cash tried his best to say something, but it all came out as gibberish. "T-that...w..you....him...I..flew...hit...m-et..the nose...", was all that came out of the stuttering colt. A few seconds later, Cash grew a giant grin on his face and bounced up and down. "THAT WAS AMAZING!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!" He cheered and Cammy felt obligated to join in. "I KNOW!! I KNOW!!" "Now, now, boys. You haven't seen anything yet." The doctor says, Cash and Cammy immediately stop bouncing around and cheering. The doctor casually walked into the blue box, followed by the grey mare and the two colts ran inside. "Now! How would you boys fancy a little adventure?!" He said in a jolly tone. Cash and Cammy cheered in response. The doctor took it as a yes and started to mess around with the panels. The grey mare flew over to a chair next to the panels and sat down. "I suggest you boys hold onto something. It can get a little bumpy", the grey mare said as she spun on the chair. Both of the colts were too busy in their excitement to pay attention. "Ahh, don't you worry Miss Hooves. They'll be alright. Besides, she's almost ready!" The doctor said as he ran around the panel pushing buttons that made weird sounds. Cammy took notice of what the doctor was doing and decided to float above him. "What do ya mean" she". The mare is over there and she's just sitting." "No, not her. I'm talking about the Tardis." "Tardis? Is that short for something?" "Yes. It is the abbreviation of Time And Relative Dimension in Space." "I am not gonna remember that." "Most don't." The doctor said as he backed up from the panel for a breath. "Alright! Travel destinations. Anyone, suggestions." He shouted. Cammy was already bursting with ideas, but none of them came out clearly. Miss Hooves held a hoof up to her chin, thinking. Cash was too awestruck to think. Finally, Cammy catered himself and put out an idea. "Wait, wait, hold up! I got something! Uhh..wait..oh yeah! I want to see what those pyramid ponies looked like. Ya know, from in the books" "Wait, you actually paid attention in history class? " "It was the only thing I found interesting." The colt responded. The doctor let out a cheer and pressed more buttons on the panel. After a moment the doctor pulled a lever and the room started to make noise. The dame noise that Cammy heard on the roof. The doctor held onto the lever and the mare held onto the chair. At first the colts thought nothing of it. That was until the entire room started to shake, causing Cash to lose his balance and bounce around in the room, letting out a yelp every time he hit the walls or a metal bar. Cammy was laughing at him, but that stopped when Cash crashed into him. They both made the room look like the weirdest pinball machine. After a few seconds, the shaking stopped and so did the noise. Cash and Cammy were left on the metro pathway to the door out of the room, groaning in pain. "Well, where here!" The doctor said as he let go of the lever and Miss Hooves got off the chair and trotted to the door, carefully stepping over the colts that were in their way. "Uhh..exactly where are we.." Cammy managed to say before his face went green. He grabbed Cash's fish hat and threw up in it. "Aww, man. That's not cool." Cash's head falls to the Tardis floor in exhaustion. The doctor chuckles at the sight and turns to open the Tardis door, shielding his eyes from the light. "Oooh, that is real bright right there. Wouldn't you two agree?" The doctor says as he walks further out of the room. Outside the Tardis was clear skies and sand was visible throughout the air. The grey mare followed him outside. Behind her was Cammy who continued to walk, then Cash who ran back into the Tardis after the heat touched him. "Ohhh..I don't feel to good..." Cammy continued to walk, so dazed he didn't have any knowledge where he was or where he was going. Cammy was to dazed to realize he was about to walk over an edge. Before he could realize, he had already walked off and would've plummeted if Miss Hooves didn't grab him by the tail. "Oi! What the...I...Whaa!!" Cammy screamed when he realized he was hanging off the edge of what looked like a building. In the distance was even more shocking. There were all kinds of buildings in odd shapes and sizes stretched out for miles. They all looked like they were made of the same material. There were all kinds of flags and rug like signs that hung from the buildings. The streets below were filled with all types of animals; Horses, Griffins, Camels and a few lizard like creatures. On the outskirts of the city was a wall that stretched all the way around. The group of ponies seemed to be on the tallest, and most regal like building of them all. "W-w-w-where are we!?" Cammy shouted in shock. The doctor came to the edge of the building and cleared his throat before speaking. "Welcome to O'Jrasha everyone! The ancient oasis 3,000 years into the past. Always nice to make pit stops." Miss hooves brought Cammy back onto the roof of the building. His jaw hung open from the surprise. Cash poked his head out of the Tardis once again, this time allowing his eyes to adjust. His mouth also dropped from the shock. It took moments for the group to get to the ground. And at first they thought the view from above was amazing, but on the ground was a whole different story. Calling the place rich, would be a major understatement. The ground they walked on was so shiny, it showed their reflections. Cash, not one to think twice, licks the floor and ends up throwing up in an alley. The animals looked particularly sophisticated compared to the group. Their clothes draped over them to the ground, some wore masks, others wore rags on their heads. The female animals wore lacy, bright outfits with make up that brought out their faces. A few of them offered to give The doctor a dance. He didn't have time to even answer as Miss Hooves dragged him away. The little animals were dressed up fancy like too. Well..some of them. There were children with their supposed parents walking on one side of the streets and on the other looked like a reverse mirror. Children, adults and some deceased animals were scattered across the alleys. "I feel it doesn't matter how far back or further you travel...", the doctor looks to the alleys of starving and sick children deprived of guidance with a sorrowful expression. "..you will see that everywhere looks the same." Cash didn't have the same look as the group. He couldn't care what troubles the children were experiencing. This was the past, they were going to die anyway. Cammy on the other hand didn't feel that way. So he decided to get a little mischievous to help boost his karma. He got in the middle of the group and used his special magic to cloak himself. At first he had to test if it worked, when he was certain that nopony could see him, he went over to a vender selling fruit. He grabbed a bag and it blended into the background as well. Cammy tossed in all fruits and weird foods he could find, while at the same time avoiding the venders and shoppers. Cammy didn't stop until he could barley carry the bag with his own strength. He floated over swiftly on a small cloud to the ally they just past and cancelled the cloaking before revealing himself. Some of the animals in the ally where shocked to see him, others were too sick to notice. He began to offer the creatures food. Most of them took it without hesitation, others were more skeptical. Cammy walked up to what looked like a mare earth pony with a little one. "Eh, I can see that ya hungry.." Cammy reached into the bag and pulled out a hoof full of fruits. "Go on ahead ya'll can get some." He said walking up to the ponies. He dropped the food when the mare shot up from where he sat and bared her fangs at the colt. She took a defensive stance for her foal while snarling. "E-eh...its okay.. I-I was just.." Cammy's vice was getting shakier with every second. He went to pick up a fruit that was knocked out of his hooves to give it to the mare but she knocked it away again. "Back away!! I do no business with magical creatures! I know your gain, you try to show compassion to ones weaker than you and then they become your servants." The mare turned her back to Cammy and walked to her foal, her voice went from raged to despair. "All of them...their all evil." Cammy was speechless. He took a good look around him and saw that all of the creatures in the ally were now looking at him with fear. The ones that took the food threw it away and ran off. Cammy began to tear up slightly when he remembered something from the ally. All of the creatures that looked fancy looked as though they had magical capabilities. Cammy put his hoof down in anger. He just got here. These creatures had no reason to accuse him evil. He began to yell at the creatures while tears began to flow down his eyes. "I ain't evil! I ain't never been evil and I ain't never gonna be evil, get that?!" Cammy was now beginning to get furious. His horn began to emit white smoke. "...I oughta hurt ya bad." The creatures began to quiver in fear. Parents held their young while others ran for their lives. Upon seeing this Cammy's rage subsided. "W-wha..I..I wasn't gonna..." "What is all this commotion about?" A voice behind Cammy said, rather sternly but had a caring touch. Cammy watched as the creatures all bowed at the figure behind him. Cammy turned around to see hat he was staring at blue legs. He backed off and his eyes traveled up to see that he was staring a a rather large horse. She had blue fur and her mane was pitch black and had sparkles around it, making it look like Cammy was staring into space. It looked as though it was flowing, even though there wasn't any wind. She wore black make up around her eyes and she dressed as though she was the most regal one here. All of her clothes had gold around the ends and she had a golden tiara around her head. Her most obvious features shocked Cammy the most. She had a rather large horn, and huge wings. Cammy knew their was a name for ponies who had both wings and a horn, but he couldn't place the name. The large horse looked down to Cammy, as if she was surprised and at the same time relieved he didn't bow. Her eyes shined and brightened, and it looked like staring into a universe. Her eyes reflected off of Cammy's in the same fashion and she let out a gasp as if she saw something. Cammy was too busy thinking of the name of what she was to notice that she was also going into deep thought. After a moment of silence, the mare spoke up. "Where do you come from child? All young magical beings are supposed to be inside this time of day," She asked arching an eyebrow. She knew that Cammy wasn't from here, but that didn't excuse from what she saw in his eyes. 'This child. He was born with my eyes, but that is impossible. Cammy was still too busy trying to remember the name. "Allicyn..uhh..Altair-no that's not it.." "Ah, there you are princess. And I see you've found one of our colts on this trip, we were starting to get worried," a familiar voice shouted. It was in fact The doctor, Miss Hooves and Cash who were walking down the ally. "Ah, yes, getting acquainted I see." The mare turned her attention from Cammy to the doctor with a smile. "Ah, Doctor, Miss Hooves, it is a pleasure." The mare said she bowed respectively and the two adult ponies did the same. The mares eyes wandered to Cash as he looked like he wasn't from here as well. She took note of the scaly like fur and his shark like teeth. She looked into the shark colts eyes and his eyes as well reflected of of hers and she let out another soft gasp. 'It cannot be. The mare went into another deep thought before snapping back into reality. "Well doctor, after your help, visits are always welcome." Her eyes shifted from the colt standing next to the adults to the colt pondering. "So, are these children yours?" Miss hooves face went deep red as the doctor let out a soft chuckle. "No,no, they aren't ours. They simply tagged along for this visit." "I see. Well since this is their first time in the great oasis, it would be an honor to show them the palace." The princess walked out of the ally and the group followed. Every creature who she walked past bowed to her and didn't get back up until they were out of sight. She led them to the palace gates that were heavily guarded. The guards moved out of the way of the princess and bowed to her, in respect she bowed back. Inside the palace was another story compared to outside. Anything and everything on the walls , stands and ceiling was either covered in priceless gems, shiny or made of gold. The middle of the floor was covered in a velvet red rug. The two colts gawked at the sight, not paying attention where they were going until they both simultaneously hit a stand with a rather large artifact on it. The artifact began to rock back and fourth until it fell over. Cash quickly ran under it to catch it, but when it hit him it proved to be too heavy. Before Cash fell over, Cammy reacted and placed a large cloud underneath the shark colt. The cloud rose to the top of the stand and Cash pushed the artifact onto. When he was done, Cash and Cammy let out a sigh of relief. The doctor clapped his hooves in amazement and so did Miss Hooves. The princess stood in awe, 'That power..that strength..but so young...' "Eh, ya need to watch were ya going, Carp!" "Me?! Ya hit it at the same time I did, ya airhead!" "Don't call me names carp! Ya don't know me well enough to do that." "Well it looks like ya don't know me well enough to remember my name. It's Cash, not Carp ya airhead!!" The two were growling in each others faces before they were brought apart by the princesses magic. "Young colts, I will have none of this. You may not be from this period, but this is a sacred palace and I expect you treat it as such." The princess cancelled her magic and set the colts down. They shared one death glare before turning around in a huff. The princess sighed. She hadn't known these colts for one hour and she already felt exhausted. She turned her attention to the wall they were in front of and an idea popped up into her head. "In fact, I believe you two have more in common than you realize." The two colts turned their heads to her in curiosity. The princess walked up to a wall that had a mural stretched out across the hallway. " One hundred years ago, great leader came across a creature with unimaginable power. It said that this creature was the master of the three statures. The mind, the body and emotion. This lead the creature to have the power to command the stars themselves..." as she spoke her horn lit up a light blue aura across the mural, making the pictures move. It made as though she was telling the story as it was happening. "..this creature was born with a horn and wings that granted it power above all the other creatures in the land. This creature was called an alicorn." "That's the name!!!" Cammy shouted. The group was slightly stunned, but the princess was unfazed. "Man, that was killing me." "Mm-hm, yes well, the alicorn was said to have eyes that looked into the universe and beyond. The alicorn was also said to have mastered every spell known and even created original forms of magic only she could preform." "Yeah, I'm sure I already know t-wait 'she'. Meaning the alicorn was a mare. Wait a minuet, I thought there were two." "I'd say about, one-thousand years from now there will be two," the doctor replied. "But that doesn't make any sense. If where back in time three thousand years.." Cash took a moment to ponder, "..and Princess Celestia is over a thousand means...Hold up!" Cash raised a hoof to the princess. The princess giggled slightly, knowing that he figured it out. "That would mean that your the..,like, first!" The princess giggled again at Cash's antics and expanded her wings, casting a shadow over the group. "That is correct. Princess O'Ceil, at your service." "That..is..so...FRIGGEN' COOL!!" He cheered. O'Ceil closed her wings and giggled again at his antics. "Well, looking at you two I obviously am not going to be the only one." "Eh, what'chu mean?" O'Ceil walked up to the two colts and brought her head down. Her eyes sparkled and the colts eyes did the same. "Though that demonstration of your growing abilities was more than enough, I knew from the moment I saw your eyes. We have the same eyes, the eyes of an alicorn." ".......WHAT?!?!?" The colts shouted. Cash immediately removed his fish hat checking for a horn and finding nothing and Cammy ran in circles frantically checking for wings. Cash had a thousand questions running through his head before speaking. "So wait, does that mean that him and me are...brothers??" "Well...more or less, I would believe." Cash and Cammy shared another glance. They looked into each others eyes and they both shined brightly. They both shook their heads as if they were in a daze and Cammy walked up to Cash and sat down. "Uhh..so I guess I should apologize for what I said Car-Uhh Cash," he said rubbing his head, not making eye contact. "Don't worry, kid. I can't hold a grudge." O'Ceil smiled curiously at how fast they made up. A Idea ran through her head and she called one of her servants. One rushed over and she whispered something in his ear. The servant disappeared into thin air and reappeared seconds later holding something rapped up with his magic. The servant gave the colts the gift and disappeared. "Since you will not be staying long, that will act as a parting gift. I trust you will use it to its full potential" Cash and Cammy thanked the princess and continued to tour around the palace. ~Present time~ The Tardis appears inside Cash's apartment in the evening. The colts left the Tardis and Cammy crashed down on the couch, clearly exhausted. Cash put the gift the princess gave them on a shelf and he turned to the doctor and Miss Hooves who were still in the Tardis. "So, are we ever going to see ya'll again?" Th two shared a glance before turning back to Cash with a smile. "You can bet on it." "Yeah!" They waved off the shark colt and closed the Tardis door. The Tardis began to emit strange sounds before slowly fading off out of existence. Cash was now beginning to get tired and laid down on the floor. "Hmm, Ma should be back right about..." he was cut off by the sound of keys jingling outside the house. After a moment a unicorn mare trotted in wearing short shorts and a tank top. Cash found the energy to roll his eyes at the sight. "Well, Cashie, I didn't find any guys. Maybe tomorrow I c- " she cut herself off when she saw that a unicorn colt was laying on the couch. Arching an eyebrow, May trotted over to Cash and sat down beside him. "Mind telling me what you did today?" Cash looked up into Mays eyes and they shined brightly, this shine reflected off of Mays eyes in the same fashion. Shaking his head Cash turned his attention from May to Cammy and then to the object that he had yet to open up. "Uhh, Ma. Remember when I said that if I didn't get into any trouble you would do anything?" "Well, of coarse I remember. What kind of mother would I be if I forgot. The place is still intact so what do you want." "Well..." Cash turned his attention from May again and looked to Cammy, who was snoring very loudly. He smiled and turned back to May. "..I always wanted a kid brother."
Chapter 1: Beggars ARE ChoosersIt was midnight in the Canterlot train station. Its a pleasure to meet you."
Chapter 2: Warning: Approach with caution and FOODChapter 2: Warning: Approach with caution and FOOD Under the star night sky, there where lights and taxis hauling ponies back and fourth. "Good luck."
Chapter 3: UNEXPECTED Grounding It was morning. "That really is an extraordinary unicorn." ~End flashback~
Chapter 4: Time travel for Dummies"You're a doctor?
