Chapters It's a fairly normal afternoon in Ponyville. Ponies walk the streets, chatting. Pegasi can be seen, dotting the skies. Two in particular are rushing through town with saddlebags at their sides.
"Hurry up Fluttershy!" A tired looking Fluttershy trudges behind her rainbow friend. She can be heard panting loudly from the speed Rainbow Dash is pushing her.
"I-i'm trying!" Fluttershy had only been flying for about half an hour, but she had never been the best flyer. She slows down, falling back behind Rainbow Dash, who then sighs in defeat.
Rainbow Dash slows down in respect of the weaker Pegasi, scanning the ground as they enter Ponyville. A familiar pair of earth ponies catches her eye and she motions to Fluttershy, who is quick to oblige,eagerly dropping to the ground, much to the surprise of the unsuspecting pair.
"Well, howdy Fluttershy!" The rustic country pony greets. "How are y'all doin?"
Fluttershy regains her composure, rubbing her sore wings. After adjusting herself to the new elevation, she starts to speak, only to be interrupted by Rainbow Dash, bolting her way to the city road in front of her.
"Oh! Rainbow Dash! How's mah fellow athlete doin?" Applejack ends her sentence playfully punching Rainbow Dash in the shoulder.
"Hehe, watch it Applejack!" Rainbow Dash teases. "Gotta watch the merchandise." Rainbow Dash rubs her shoulder and the group shares a laugh. As they continue walking the road, Pinkie Pie speaks up.
"Soooo... What do ya guys think Princess Celestia wants with us." The pink pony bounces with anticipation.
Applejack turns to the excited equine. "Princess Celestia wants us to be there when some important delegates come to visit."
Rainbow Dash groans in annoyance. "Why do we even need to be there for some stuck up ponies to visit?"
Apple Jack rolls her eyes. "We're the former elements of harmony, therefore, us bein' there tells the delegates that their visit is important."
Rainbow Dash groans again. "Okay, okay, I guess your right." She sighs. "I just wish they weren't always so boring."
As the four friends walk the streets of Ponyville, chatting about their impending trip, they come upon their destination, The Golden Oaks Library. Even though Tirek had destroyed the last one only a month ago, Twilight had regrown it with some carefully planned alchemy and magic. The outside looked almost identical to the previous building other than the scotch marks around the base of the tree.
As the group approaches the large tree, Rainbow Dash turns to the group. "Why do you think Twilight still likes living in a tree? There's a perfectly good castle over there.." She points to the crystal castle that had mysteriously appeared a while back.
Applejack, still looking at the castle, answers the Pegasus. "I'd reckon she's more comfortable livin in her library."
Rainbow Dash nods her head in agreement as they approach the door. Pinkie Pie jumps up the half steps and knocks on the door excitedly. The upper half of the stable door opens to reveal Rarity.
"Oh! Hello girls! Please, come in. Twilight is just finishing up getting ready." The unicorn pushes the bottom half of the door open and steps aside, motioning them inside with her hoof. The group walks in to see Twilight frantically running around the library, making sure she has everything. A familiar purple dragon is sitting in a chair talking to Twilight.
"Twilight, do you guys really have to go?" Spike knew the answer, but he still asked. "It's always really lonely here when you guys are gone."
Twilight, still sifting through a drawer, answers. "Spike, we'll only be gone for the weekend, don't worry." Spike sighs and looks at the door, standing up.
"Oh, hey guys. How are you?" Spike greets the ponies. Pinkie Pie bounces over to him.
"Super Dooper!" The jittery pink pony jumps up and down in front of Spike, making him giggle. "See? That's what I wanna see! A smile!" Pinkie puts her hooves on both sides of Spike's face, pushing them up, making him smile even bigger.
"Thanks, Pinkie." Spike says, pulling her hooves from his face. "It's always good to have a friend to cheer me up."
"That's what I'm here for!" Pinkie Pie grins, before being enveloped in a purple aura of magic and levitated over to the other ponies, who were waiting for her next to the door. Twilight turns to Spike.
"Bye, Spike! See you in a couple days!" Twilight waves as she walks out the door.
"Bye! Have fun!" Spike waves until they walked out the door. When they close the door, Spike plops down in his chair, sighing. He looks around, the new library was almost exactly like the old one, but most of the furniture was destroyed. Twilight wasn't particularly worried about the furniture, but when she realized all of her books were destroyed, she was furious. Luckily, the royal Canterlot library had paid to restock her books as thanks for defeating Tyrek. Spike, however had lost his entire collection of comic books.
Disgruntled, Spike gets up and walks upstairs to his room. Luckily, during the magical reconstruction of the library, Twilight had accidentally created an extra room, which was now Spike's. He opens his door, flopping down on his bed. It was only about five, but Spike was exhausted. He lied their thinking about what he could do over the weekend as he fell asleep.
Spike's sleep was interrupted when he heard a few knocks on the door. He groggily walks down the stairs, talking to himself. "Who could that be? The library was closed three hours ago." He walks up to the door, unsure who it could be, and opens it. He looks up at the visitor with a confused look.
"Discord?"
"Discord, what are you doing here?" Spike asks with a raised brow.
Discord looks down at the young dragon with a friendly smile. "Well, I was actually wondering if you knew where Fluttershy is. I wanted to exchange some recipes with her." Discord pulls a group of flash cards from behind his back and starts sifting through them. Spike rubs the back of his neck.
"Well, actually..." Spike explains. "Fluttershy and the rest of the girls are in Canterlot on royal business."
Discord seems taken aback by this. He puts the flash cards back behind his back. "Oh, well, I figured Fluttershy would tell me in one of her letters."
Spike looks at Discord with a reassuring look. "Don't worry, it was kinda last minute. Celestia likes to drop random royal business on Twilight all the time." Discord chuckles a bit before looking at Spike with a questioning look.
"So what about you Spike? Why didn't you go?" Spike looks up at the Draconequus, expecting to see a look of mockery, but instead, he sees a genuine look of concern in his eyes. Spike looks back down at the ground again.
"Well... Twilight said that only the elements needed to go to..." Spike is interrupted when Discord lifts his chin up with a finger, looking into his eyes.
"Oh, Spike, your doubting your worth." The two sit in silence for a moment before there interrupted by a drop of rain on Discords hand. The pair look up at the sky, just now realizing the Pegasi have created a storm over Ponyville. Spike motions Discord inside.
"You'd better come on in. The rain is supposed to get pretty violent tonight." Spike grabs Discords hand and pulls him inside. Inside, Spike sits down in a chair and motions for Discord to sit down as well, who refuses.
"Oh, that won't do..." Discord playfully remarks before snapping his fingers. Suddenly, a couch appears in the middle of the library, much to the surprise of Spike.
Discord slithers his way onto the couch, patting the opposite side,inviting Spike over. "Come on, sit with me." Spike walks over to the couch and sits on the side of the couch opposite Discord.
Spike comforts himself on the surprisingly soft couch and turns to Discord. "Hey, your not going to have any trouble getting home, are you?" Discord thinks for a second.
"Well, what if I kept you company here while Twilight is away?"
Spike thinks for a minute, rubbing his chin. "Yeah, that would be fine. It'd be good to have the company." Spike yawns. "But I think it's time for me to sleep."
Discord yawns as well at the thought of sleep. He picks up Spike with little resistance and snaps his fingers. The couch suddenly starts spinning and turns into a notably large bed that could easily hold three fully grown ponies. Discord sets Spike on the bed and crawls in, sighing at the comfort of the bed. Spike starts to walk up the stairs but is stopped by Discord.
"Oh, Spike, you don't have to sleep up there. You could sleep down here if you wanted." Discord pats the left side of the bed, smiling invitingly. Spike looks at him, confused.
"Are you sure? Twilight never let's me sleep in her bed." Spike reminisces.
Discord chuckles. "Of course not! Come on, lay down."
Spike crawls up on the bed and wraps himself in the covers. Surprisingly, the bed was quite comfy compared to his normal bed. Spike sighs in content. "Goodnight Discord."
"Goodnight Spike."
As Spike opens his eyes, he sees the ceiling of the library's main room. Confused, he looks to his right and sees a sleeping Discord. Spike smiles at the sight of the usually threatening figure. "He looks really peaceful in his sleep." Spike says to himself, yawning.
As Spike tries to stretch, he finds himself unable to. Slightly panicking, Spike looks down to see that Discord's scaly red tail is wrapped around him. 'Discord must have wrapped his tail around me while we were sleeping' Spike thinks to himself, relieved.
When Spike tries to wiggle himself out, Discord shuffles a bit and, just like that, Spike is lifted into the air, and onto Discord's chest. Spike feels Discord's tail unwrap itself from around him, quickly replaced by Discord's arms. Spike is squeezed by Discord's arms, surprisingly non-painfully. It was almost as if he was hugging him. Spike giggles a little as Discord sighs a bit, still sleeping.
"Well, I guess I'm not getting out of this any time soon." Spike mutters under his breath before closing his eyes. Surprisingly, Discord's body made a good bed. The warmth from Discord's body is relaxing, and Spike falls asleep to the rising and falling of Discord's chest.
A few hours later, Spike awakes again to find himself in the bed alone. He looks around, but can't see Discord anywhere.
"Discord? Where are you?" Spike calls out. No one responds, but Spike can hear a humming coming from the bathroom. Half-asleep, Spike opens the door to the bathroom.
"Discord, are you in he..." Spike freezes in place as he sees Discord, in the shower, humming a tune and washing himself. Spike thinks about turning and leaving, but he can help but just stand there, looking over Discord's slender body, the warm water trickling down his frame. He stands there for a moment, just admiring Discord's body, but is thoughts are interupted when Spike hears Discord's voice.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." The sudden realization that Discord had known that he had been watching the entire time but continued makes Spike blush.
Discord reaches down and turns the knobs controlling the water, making the water stop. Discord wraps a towel around his chest and shakes the water from his body. Spike shakes his head, trying to grasp the situation.
"D-Discord, I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were in he..." Spike is stopped as Discord puts a finger on his mouth, silencing him. Discord brings his face up to Spike's.
"Oh, Spike,you don't have to worry about these things with me. I could never be mad at you..." Discord lowers his finger from Spike's mouth. "Plus... it looked like you were enjoying yourself there." Discord giggles.
The two stand in the doorway for a few minutes, enjoying each other's presence. Spike stares deep into Discord's deep red eyes. He can feel Discord's warm breath on his nose, making him blush again. He looks down at the ground, trying to hide his face.
"U-um I'd better let you finish up." Spike turned to leave, but stops when he feels a hand on his arm and a calm voice order him back.
"I'm sorry Spike, but I have to do this." Discord pulls on Spike's arm, spinning him around. Spike closes his eyes, expecting the worst, but only feels something warm touch his lips. He opens his eyes, only to see Discord, closing his eyes,
Spike had always imagined what his first kiss would be like, but this definitely wasn't it, yet it wasn't bad. Although it felt strange, soon Spike got curious, and opened his mouth, slithering his tung into Discord's mouth. Through a muffled giggle, Discord flicks his tung against Spike's. Their make out session lasted a few more minutes until eventually, the pair both had to come up for air, staring into each others eyes, panting.
Spike tries to speak, but the only thing he's able to mutter is: "Wow..."
Spike lies in the bed Discord and him had been sleeping in for the past two nights. Today was Sunday, and the two had one more day together before Twilight and the other ponies returned. Discord walks in with a coffee mug and an especially long bathrobe on. Spike turns to Discord with a mischievous look.
"Y'know... the ponies aren't gonna be back until tomorrow." Discord raises his brow, but Spike continues. "We might as well make the most of the time weve got." Discord returns Spike's naughty look and sets down his mug on a nearby table, taking off his robe.
"Well, I wonder what we should do." Discord crawls over to Spike, who was laying on his back, until he was hovering over him. Discord's breath on Spike's abdomen makes him shudder with anticipation. Discord gives Spike a kiss on the cheek before turning his neck, suckling Spikes neck, making him moan out quietly.
"I think you've got the right idea..."
MEANWHILE
Twilight Sparkle, levitating her bags, walks excitedly out of the train. "I hope Spike is surprised by us coming back early!" The meeting had been cut early due to a problem. Applejack breaths in the Ponyville air before turning to Twilight.
Applejack's eyes open wider in thought. "Ah still can't believe Celestia ate all that cake!" Rarity nods in agreement.
"Oh, yes! I can't imagine a Princess behaving so barbarically!" Rarity shudders at the memory of Celestia shoving three slices of cake into her mouth at the same time.
Twilight giggles. "Oh, that was nothing! You should have seen her at her last birthday!" The rest of the group laughs nervously at the thought of Celestia with a Princess sized birthday cake. Rarity shakes away the thought and turns to Twilight.
"So, Twilight, are you sure Spike will be surprised?"
The purple Alicorn nods her head. "Of course! Spike still thinks we'll be coming back tomorrow."
Rarity giggles. "Oh, yes, I'm sure he'll be delighted to have somepony to talk to after that long weekend."
Pinkie Pie jumps in the air. "Yay, surprises!"
The group reaches the library in short time and Twilight tries to open the door, to no prevail. "Well, that's strange. Spike never locks the door in the day." Twilight shakes off the skepticism. "Oh, he probably just slept in as usual."
Twilight levitates a key out of her saddlebags and unlocks the door. Using her magic, she opens the door and walks in, followed by the girls, calling out to Spike. "Spike! We've come home earl..." Twilight stops dead in her tracks, unsure at what she's looking at.
In the middle of the main room of the library, is a large bed containing Spike, and... Discord!? Spike was laying on his back and Discord was on top of him, kissing his neck. As soon as the door opened, both of them shot their heads up, blushing.
The room is silent, other than the sound of Fluttershy fainting and landing with a thud on the hard wooden floor. Rarity goes to help her up. Spike, not moving from the position, breaks the silence once more, speaking in a nervous tone
"S-so, how was your trip?"
