Twilight
Alicorn State Of Mind
Load Full StoryTwilight rolled around in her bed. Her new wings were so uncomfortable. They felt all strange and weird. And she just couldn't make them stay at her side. Every few seconds they would pop out. She had tried everything. She had even tried tying them to her side but they were strong. Even spells didn't work. And they were stiff. She kept on grumbling and mumbling through the night. This of course, kept a certain dragon up all night. He tried to put a pillow over his head but that didn't work. Even his emergency ear plugs backfired.
Spike was just as tired as her when the morning came. He had been kept up by a certain alicorn's grumbling last night. He wanted to tape her mouth shut so badly last night. The urge was extremely hard to resist. But he let it pass. She was pretty new to having wings. He knew he would be doing the same if he got wings. When the morning had come Twilight acted pretty strange to him. She didn't say good morning or anything like that to Spike when she awoke. She usually talked all morning. But today she was quiet. Way too quiet to be the Twilight he knew.
And she made a lot more coffee than usual this morning. Spike expected this but it was a lot more. I meant a lot more than usual. And she had a lot more. She had three cups in one minute. Spike was still on his first when she started on her fourth. This worried him. A lot. "Uhh Twilight? How many cups of coffee have you had?" She raised a hoof in the air as she finished her fifth cup. Once she was done she spoke.
"9,125.89514," She replied as she began to take another sip of her coffee. How did she refill it so fast? Spike looked up at her with confusion. What the hay is wrong with her today...
"I meant today," He said. It took Twilight a few seconds to respond.
"Ohhh. I thought you meant all the cups coffee of I've ever had! Silly me! I've had 5.6 cups today,"
"How do you even know that? Were you like measuring every cup of coffee or something?"
"Its basic math Spike," She said with a roll of her eyes.
"I don't know many ponies that can figure out how much coffee they had by simply thinking about it. They would have had to measure it or something. I'm pretty sure you didn't," He then looked at her. "Are you feeling okay?" He said with a slight frown. Twilight was getting annoyed by his questions. He asked way too many of them.
"I'm fine spike. And yes, you can go over to Rarity's house today at 12:00 pm to help her with her new yellow sun dress," Spike was shocked. This is getting weird....really weird... He thought. Twilight was now on her sixth cup.
"How did you know I was going to ask that? And how did you know about what Rarity's is making? Its a surprise! She only told me! She said she didn't want to tell anypony about it until it was done!"
"Ohh yeah! She shows me it about two weeks from now. It’s really pretty once its finished! I like the big yellow flower on it! And I'm not going crazy at all Spike,"
"Twilight are you going craz- How the hay did you know that?!"
"Spike you are just predictable," She said with yet another roll of her eyes.
"Bu-"
"Stop, Spike. Just go read that comic you got yesterday at 2:03 pm with some bits you stole from my purse. And don't worry, I'm not mad about it," That's enough weirdness for me! Spike thought.
"I'm sending a letter to Princess Celestia!" Twilight nodded and continued to sip her coffee. It would never reach Celestia. When spike sent it she quickly teleported it to the table and burned it with a little spell. She chuckled silently to herself. Silly Spike! I'm an alicorn! She then sensed hoof steps around her door. She set her coffee down and trotted over to her front door. She opened it to reveal Rainbow Dash. She had her hoof raised and nearly knocked Twilight.
"Oh, sorry." She paused for a moment. "Uhhh how did you know I was here?"
"I sensed your presence! Duh," What The Buck?? Rainbow Dash thought. Her mind was acting crazy. She managed to keep her cool face on though.
"Okayyy. So, do yo-" Twilight cut her off.
"Yes. The new Daring Doo book is right over there," She pointed a hoof towards one of her many book shelves. Rainbow Dash slowly walked passed her, watching her carefully. She seemed like normal old Twilight. Except she had wings.
Rainbow Dash shrugged and mumbled, "Eggheads are weird. And sometimes creepy!" Twilight glared at her.
"I knew you would say that! And you are going to trip on a rock when you head out my door!" Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes and grabbed the Daring Doo book she was looking for. Twilight watched her with this really creepy stare. She then went out the door while giving Twilight a you are really scaring me stare. Twilight then rolled her eyes again and shut the door behind her. While Rainbow Dash was walking her hoof hit a rock and she ended up doing a face plant in the dirt. She cursed under her breath and continued on her way completely forgetting that Twilight had predicted this would happen.
Twilight decided to see what was happening at and international science convention she sensed was happening in another universe. This should be interesting... She waved a hoof in front of her and a little window appeared. On the other side there was a large table with a bunch of scientists gathered around. They were debating the big bang theory. She sighed and waved a hoof to fast forward time on the other side. She wanted to get to the part where they talked about parallel universes. After a few seconds of time traveling she stopped approximately two hours later in the other world.
One of the Chinese scientists was saying that parallel universes didn't exist. "WHAT!?" She yelled. "THERE ARE OVER 9,000,000,000 PARALLEL UNIVERSES! THAT SCIENTIST IS FULL OF HORSE SH*T!" She was lucky they couldn't see or hear her. She then turned around in her new blue chair. "SPIKE! BRING ME PAPER!" She had already created a pen in front of her. Spike came running down stairs with a piece of paper. She snatched it from his claws with her magic and began to write with her pen. Spike watched her write with confusion.
This is what it said: 尊敬的科學家,你是非常錯誤的。有許多平行宇宙。事實上,有超過九十億。我知道這是因為我曾經數過自己。
真誠,公主暮光閃耀
"Uhhh Twilight? When did you learn to write Chinese?" Where is Celestia?! He thought. She needs some serious help! I think this alicorn stuff has gotten to her... Twilight spun around in her now green chair to face spike.
"I've always know Chinese! Didn't you hear me mumbling it last night?" So that's what that was! But she didn't always know Chinese so...
"No..."
"是的,我有!" She yelled as she pointed a hoof at him.
"I don't speak Chinese!" She then face hoofed.
"Ugh! Μα αυτό είναι τόσο απλό!"
"I don't even know what that is," She face hoofed again.
"It’s Greek Spike! Why are you so simple?" Spike was no longer paying attention Twilight though. He was paying attention to her chair. It was changing colors. It went from green to blue to red to rainbow and on and on and on.
"Uhhh Why is your chair changing color?!" Spike then looked up. "And why is there a floating window showing ponies arguing?!" This is getting stranger by the minute! Everything was confusing to Spike. Everything at that moment. But Twilight knew everything. Nothing confused her at all. She sighed heavily and motioned a hoof forward.
"Just come here," Spike looked up at her with a bit of fear. She glared at him. "I'm waiting," He then reluctantly took a step forward.
He had to stall her while Celestia was on her way here. Twilight put a hoof on his head. Her eyes flashed white for a second and she then removed her hoof. "There, now you know everything! Happy now?" Spike, who now knew everything, simply collapsed to the floor with a bit of drool coming out of his mouth. And his pupils were really big. Twilight ignored this and continued to watch the stupid ponies argue about things she already had the answers to.
She eventually swiped the window away and decided to say hello to Pinkie Pie. She needed a bit of craziness. Within a millisecond she was in Pinkie Pie's room. Pinkie was playing with her pet alligator. But Twilight had already known that. She knows everything. Pinkie Pie saw Twilight and bounced over to her with her tail spinning around happily.
"Hiya Twilight!" But suddenly her Pinkie sense went off. She came to a dead stop as it began. Her legs wobbled and her tail spun around. Her eyes went like Derpy's and her tongue rolled around. After a few seconds it quickly stopped. Twilight watched her without a hint of confusion. She knew what she was going to say.
"Twilight! I just sensed that you have the knowledge of EVERYTHING! Like me!" She then smiled. Twilight nodded. "Cool! So what do you wanna talk about now?" Twilight shrugged.
"Maybe....Physics?" Pinkie shook her head from side to side.
"That's boring. Let's make cake!" But Twilight was already holding cake.
"Right here!" Pinkie Pie shrugged it off.
"Okay! Let's-"
Pinkie Pie was going to say eat but Twilight was already eating a piece of the cake. Pinkie Pie huffed.
"That's no fair! I want to be first!"
"Pinkie, you were the first born!" She said with yet another face hoof. For the first time in forever, Pinkie Pie was confused. But Twilight was gone. Pinkie Pie searched for her but she was nowhere to be seen. After a few minutes of searching she simply shrugged and continued to play with her baby alligator without a care in the world.
Twilight was floating above the city of Las Pegasus. She didn't know how she got there but she had things to do. She didn't know what those things were but her body seemed to know. Her eyes began to glow as she went into the alicorn state of mind. Her mind swirled with the knowledge of everything. She raised a hoof and everything stopped. Everything. The whole universe was paused like someone had hit the button on a remote.
She then flicked her hoof to the side and everything began to go reverse. Ponies walked backwards and buildings were unbuilt. Ponies clothes began to look older and older by the second. Everything was backwards. Within a few seconds of her time there were no ponies. Equestria hadn't even been founded yet. Twilight finally stopped herself. She instantly sensed she was a million years in the past. She blinked slowly as she looked around.
The reality of the situation finely hit her as she slipped out of the alicorn state of mind. Her real memories began to return. "When could I travel through time?!" She shouted as her old self came rushing back. ""Και από πότε μπορώ να μιλήσω ελληνικά?"(And when could I speak Greek?!) She looked around with pure confusion now. But now she was slipping in to the alicorn state of mind again. Her eyes began to glow along with her horn as she levitated above the soon to be city of Las Pegasus. She then vanished from the spot in a large white flash of light that startled the local wildlife.
She reappeared in a black empty space. She sensed...nothing. She was at the true beginning of the universe. Where nothing existed. Nothing but her. She silently cursed in Chinese. "降壓," (Buck) But it wasn't silent because nothing existed so silence didn't exist. As she floated around in pure emptiness she began to see a bright light. Her ears flattened. "Sh*t..." It was the Big Bang about to happen. She braced herself for the explosion.
Nothing. She heard nothing as the birth of the universe happened. It was too loud for her ears to detect. A blinding light then shone through her eyelids as she was flung away by the sheer force of the explosion. "AHHHHHHHHHH!" She couldn't hear herself scream. She had gone deaf. She quickly cast a spell that healed her ears. She then cast another spell that protected her ears. Those were the last things she did before she slipped in to the alicorn state of mind again.
She stopped herself from being hurled. She then raised a hoof and everything stopped at her will. She looked around at the scenery. Colors were everywhere. There was no other way to describe it. Just...colors. Colors in wonderful shapes and patters. It was sight to behold. She could have sat there for years and only just gotten over how a speck of gold looked. The beauty forced her in to a trace as the glow left her eyes.
Beauty everywhere. Just...beauty. The beauty of the beginning. The beginning of everything. It truly was spectacular. It was just….amazing. She would have sat there for years if she didn't have the alicorn state. Her eyes began to glow again along with her horn. Twilight was more relaxed this time so her magic did not go berserk. With a swipe of her hoof she let time start again. She then turned around. Her alicorn part had one more place to show her before it stopped.
With a flash of white Twilight appeared in the middle of a cemetery. She gently fell to the ground. She looked around as the white glow in her eyes faded. It was dark and gloomy. It made her insides feel sick. She focused on figuring out the time. She could feel it was the future. About eighty years ahead. Maybe eighty five. She walked around to discover what she had too. After a few minutes she sighed and just trotted off while looking up . She had been admiring the stars and not paying attention to the ground which was bad. She ended up tripping over a gravestone. She whispered a curse as she got back on her hooves. Her eyes wandered to the text on the grave stone she had tripped over.
Fluttershy, Aged 85 years. RIP Twilight rubbed her eyes and looked again. It was not her imagination playing tricks on her. But she was still in denial. No...it couldn't be true. She and her friends would live happily till the end of time. She looked to the side. Applejack was here too. She took a step back. "No no no no no!" This time her alicorn state was comming on by command. Her eyes glowed much brighter than the other times. They lit up the dull cemetery. She began to leveate as things like twigs and leaves swirled around her. Tears streamed down her face as she denied her friends' deaths. "NO! THEY CAN'T DIE! They can't...." As her anger and sorrow got more powerful so did her magic. It began to pick up heavier things like pieces of gravestone.
Luna appeared in a flash of blue magic. She looked up to see the purple alicorn in her alicorn state. "We told Celestia she was not ready! Stupid sister..." She spread her wings and darted in to the eye of the storm. There she saw Twilight crying uncontrollably. Her tears were then sucked off her face and swirled around her along with everything else. Luna tried to comfort her in order to stop the storm she had created.
"Twilight! Calm down! You're going to tear this place apart!" Twilight looked over to Luna with sadness in her glowing eyes.
"WHY SHOULD I CARE? MY BEST FRIENDS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ARE GONE!" The storm of magic and debris got stronger. Luna found herself fighting to stay in the air.
"DON'T MAKE US USE OUR OWN ALICORN STATE!" Luna shouted as the storm got stronger. Twilight did not respond. Luna sighed heavily and focused on her inner magic, blocking out everything else. Her eyes began to glow like Twilight's along with her horn. She quickly touched it to Twilight's horn, blocking off the other 90% of her brain like every other pony. She gasped and collapsed to the ground with a loud thud. Everything that had been swirling around did the same. Luna gently landed on the ground and walked over to Twilight.
"Until you are ready...," She whispered as she picked up the unconscious alicorn with her own blue magic. She sighed slightly as she teleported them out of the area.
They reappeared in Twilight bedroom. Spike was already in his basket napping. She had fixed him. She then gently set Twilight on her own bed, tucking her in. She sighed again as she trotted out of the room.
"Until you are ready...,"
