1st
Deep within the caves under the recently established Friendship Rainbow Kingdom sat a red mare. Surrounding the mare was a whirlwind of black mist. The mare was an alicorn, her coat was red, her wings started off as red then faded to black at the tips, her mane and tail were both black with green stripes, her eyes were an unnatural red and currently had black mist slowly flowing out of them, her mane and tail looked a lot like Fluttershy's with a seemingly random pattern of green in them, and her cutie mark was a black heart with two interlocking crescent moons in the center. Silver Night heard a knock at her door and the black magic that had been around her vanished, the mist from her eyes dissipating as well. Silver Night walked over to the door and opened it just a little. "Yes, how may I help you?" Silver Night asked before seeing who the ponies were.
"Hi, I'm looking for Midnight Heart?" Twilight asked.
"I'm Silver Night, Midnight Heart is an alias of mine. Come in Twilight Sparkle and Tranquil Wind." The two followed her into her training room.
"How'd you know it was us?" Tranquil asked as her and Twilight sat down.
"I've been watching you Twilight Sparkle, observing your dreams, observing your power, trying to understand why Celestia fears you."
"She doesn't fear me." Twilight protested.
"But that she does. You're special talent is literally magic, this hasn't happened since Clover the Clever. That's why Celestia fears you, why she limits your magic and your knowledge, why she hides her dark past from you, it's because she knows that you surpass her."
"That isn't true, nopony surpasses Celestia."
"That's where the lies come in. You've learned of what she's done to the razorcorns and batponies, you see her only as the goddess of the sun, but there is more to her. Queen Chrysalis was able to easily over power her with the smallest fraction of the love Shinning Armour had towards Cadence, love that didn't even belong to her no less. Had Luna not been there, King Sombra would have done the same. Alone she couldn't save her own sister from her twin. Clover the Clever and Starswirl the Bearded were even able to over power her when she was at her strongest. Does that sound right for a goddess, no but it does sound right for a pony."
"How do you know so much about me?"
"Simple Twilight, I've been watching you since the day your cutie mark appeared, I know every secret you ever kept pass that day, every entry to your diary, every friendship lesson you learned, I know all your mistakes Twilight, and all your strengths."
"Why?" Twilight was shocked.
"Because I knew that only you could do what no other can, you can kill gods, you can bring absolute peace with a single thought, you can build mountains with a glance, and you can handle almost all magic."
"I-I can't d-do that."
"But you can. You can because you are a true goddess. One that is older than Celestia herself."
"I'm not older than her." Twilight's mane was partly on fire from the anger she felt.
"Really Clover? Tell me, what was Tia's favorite drink?"
It wasn't the suddenness of the question, nor the name that shocked Twilight, but her answer. "milk with a dash of honey, two spoons of sugar, and half a cup of tea mixed together." Twilight just stood there, frozen, at what she had said.
"What about Chryalis' most hated nickname?"
"Chitin Girl." Twilight put a hoof over her mouth.
"Am I missing something, also how has she not noticed you wings?" Tranquil asked, she was ignored.
"What was you husband's full name, and the names of your children?" it was clear that Silver Night was loving this.
"Starswirl Lulamoon was my husband, my children were Celestia, Sombra, Luna, Nightmare, Cadence, and Chrysalis." Twilight was shaking with fear and shock.
"And what was your full name, Clover the Clever?"
"Clover Leaf." Twilight just stood there after that, expecting another question.
"See what I'm saying?"
"W-what j-just h-happened t-to me?"
"You're stronger than any other pony Twilight. Not even Starswirl could properly perform his time spell, you're woven into the very fabric of magic itself, just as any of the ponies that become the element of magic are, you're bound to each one in a way simply impossible to understand."
"I'm lost." Tranquil said.
"Haven't you noticed a certain familiarity to Twilight?"
"well yea, but she's the element of magic and I've noticed it with the other elements as well."
"Did you feel it in the first element of magic?"
"I don't remember."
"Then I have nothing to explain to you."
"Hey!" Twilight yelled in annoyance.
"Ah yes, how could I forget about you once more Silver Sheen?"
"How do I know that name?" Twilight asked, having had enough of Silver Night's games.
"Because you are no longer Twilight Sparkle, officially you lost that name the second you became the element of magic. You are Magic, you remember your other 'hosts' and you remember every detail about them."
"This makes no sense, of course I'm Twilight Sparkle."
"I will aid you in this later on."

After Twilight calmed down she asked "Can we get to the peace negotiations?"
"Peace Negotiations? I never said anything about peace negotiations." Silver Night said.
"That's the only reason I'm even here!"
"As expected, Celestia actually believed me. I only used the talk of peace to trick her into sending you. The real reason I wanted you to come is to make you an offer."
"What kind of offer?"
"To study under me in the forbidden arts in exchange you help me learn about-" Silver Night blushed in embarrassment at what she said next "friendship."
"Why would I study forbidden magic, the side-effects and punishments are severe?"
"Only to some, but think about it. Black magic corrupts after only a few uses, the personality is greatly altered as well after the first use. Yet your's wasn't. Twilight you have the power to perform all magic except Chaos magic, You even surpass me."
"It's still wrong, forbidden magic is forbidden for a reason."
"And do you know the reason?"
"Because it corrupts."
"Solar and Lunar magic are forbidden and they're the very magics that Celestia and Luna use, can you tell me why they'd be forbidden?"
"Because Celestia and Luna are the only ones strong enough to wield them."
"How does one know such... when they've been forbidden since Celestia and Luna came to power? Think back to their parent's time, back then it was the unicorns that raised and lowered the sun and moon, you need solar and lunar magic to do such a thing."
"I'm not helping you."
"All I ask is for you to help me learn about friendship and in return I'll show you how much power you truly have, and I'll teach both you and Tranquil about the elements, forbidden magic, and secrets neither of you knew as a token of thanks."
"Why do you want to learn about friendship anyways... you seem to prefer tormenting others instead?"
"That's why. You see, I was born an alicorn and I was born with dark magic as my natural magic. I was born back before the union of the three tribes in the Pegasus tribe. I was teased, bullied, and sometimes nearly killed by all the residents, all except one. Private Pansy was the only one that showed me kindness, she encouraged me to try to learn my magic and aided me when I needed it. At one point I left the Pegasus tribe and went to the unicorn tribe, there I learned how to access my magic, but that lead to more problems. When the unicorns saw that my magic seemed less stable then theirs and realized I had dark magic (a rare occurrence in unicorns) they shunned me away. I ended up finding a changeling hive that was interested in me, they taught me their magics (since at the time nopony knew they even existed) as well as their language. That was when I began searching the world, trying to learn any magic I could. I eventually learned unicorn magic and I managed to get the unicorns to teach me solar and lunar magic, then I met a pony who had dabbled in black magic and I learned from him, that was the day I got my cutie mark. It stands for forbidden. So basically, I never could have made many friends"
"I'm still not accepting your terms, but I'll be willing to teach you about friendship."
"Thanks, but I can't accept an offer like that without giving something in return, and all I really have is my knowledge."
"Then you can teach me about some things, but not forbidden magic unless I give you permission."
"Again thanks." Silver Night bowed after that and Twilight lead her to the castle, Tranquil following behind.

When they got back to the castle, all of Twilight's friends, Celestia, Luna, Nightmare, Shinning Armour, and Cadence were waiting for her.
"who's the new girls darling?" Rarity asked.
"I'm Tranquil Wind, I exist to guard you and the other Elements of Harmony. If you ever need me then just call out to the Tree of Harmony." Tranquil said.
"And you?" Celestia asked as both Pinkie and Cadence pulled out trays of drinks and handed them out.
"I'm Midnight Heart, you know I was partial friends with Clover Leaf." Silver Night said.
"You!" Celestia had pure anger in her voice as her horn lit up as she fired.
Silver Night didn't even flinch as the beam came to her, only to be repelled by an unstable looking red shield, that she had formed. "Is that how you treat you'r fellow princesses and Twilight's student?"
"What?"
"Twilight's agreed to help me learn about friendship, seeing as I'm sure you know an alicorn born into the Pegasus tribe back during clover's time wouldn't be able to make friends."
"You may be an alicorn, but you're not a princess."
"I'm the princess of the forbidden, I know all that shouldn't be known." While the two bickered, the mane six talked calmly with everypony else.
"Um, if you don't mind me asking. What's your age?" Fluttershy asked timidly, looking at Tranquil.
"Lost count. I was created when the Tree of Harmony was created and that was three thousand years after the world began." Tranquil said as a magic battle ensued between Celestia and Silver Night.
"So... how exactly do I contact you?" Rarity asked.
"Just reach out for your element and from there reach out to the Tree of Harmony and you'll know what to do from there."
"Can we call you anytime?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Usually yes, but I will prioritize the stronger element's request first."
"Huh?"
"The order of the elements on my cutie mark isn't just random, it represents the amount of harmonic influence each element has going clockwise. So if Twilight and you called then I'd prioritize Twilight's request first, unless your life literally depends on me getting there as soon as possible. I'm skilled with different healing magics so most wounds, I can heal or help."
"Gee do you have any weaknesses?" Twilight asked.
"I'm bound to each of you, if one of you fully betrays your element then I return to the Tree of Harmony until you either reconnect with your element or new elements are found. My strength is drawn directly from your friendship and your elements meaning that should you separate permanently then I'm sent back since friendship is what powers the elements, should your friendship weaken then I'm weakened. I can die if the element of magic can die, which means that I currently can't unless I'm decapitated. Though if I'm killed I'll return after all of you work together to call me back. Should one of the elements die then I return to the Tree of Harmony."
"Only decapitation?"
In response to that, Tranquil pulled out a gold and silver colored sword and calmly drove it through Twilight's chest, she didn't even flinch. Tranquil pulled the sword out of twilight's chest and the wound almost instantly healed.
"You stabbed her!" Apple Jack yelled.
"She's an alicorn. The only way to kill an alicorn is to either decapitate them or make them willingly kill themselves, any other harm is easily fixed unless it was caused by chaos magic, in which the wound will hurt and heal like a normal pony's, even if it's meant to be fatal."
"Thanks for reminding me of the fact that I'm immortal now." Twilight groaned
Silver skidded across the floor after a moment. "For the record Tranq, as I stated before, Twilight can easily kill a god, including an alicorn." she said before flying up and lunging at Celestia.
"Shouldn't we stop them before they hurt each other?" Twilight asked, small flames licking at her mane again.
"They are both alicorns, and didn't I literally just list off the only known ways to kill an alicorn?" Tranquil asked.
"That's why I'm worried, you saw what Midnight knew back at her cave, she said it herself that she knows all that's forbidden."
"Good point."
"Wait, if you literally radiate with harmony then why are they fighting?"
"Simple, I can't bring harmony when there is none. Midnight and Celestia clearly have a very deep and very strong hatred of each other, nothing short of the elements would be able to make them stop."
"That's all I need to know." Twilight said as her mane and tail became pure fire (though it stayed in the same shape it originally had, minus some small flames.), her coat turned white, her wings became fire (in a similar fashion to her mane and tail), her eyes became pure red (minus the whites.), and her cutie mark changed to a red and black version of itself. She walked into the small battle field and used a freeze spell. Both Silver and Celestia were frozen in place. "LET'S MAKE THIS CLEAR, NEITHER OF YOU ARE TO ENGAGE IN ANY FORM OF COMBAT WITH EACH OTHER AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE DOING IT FOR SELF DEFENSE OR A FRIENDLY DUEL (AS IN JUST FOR MAGIC PRACTICE, NO ACTUAL ATTEMPTS AT EACH OTHER'S LIFE). Twilight said, using the Royal Canterlot Voice.
"Yes Twilight." Silver said in the kind of voice twilight would use when getting in trouble.
"Fine, but if I see the slightest amount of hostility then I'm attacking." Celestia said.
"That reminds me Celestia Eclipse, We've gotta have a long talk with you about your tyrannical actions towards both the Blood and the Bat empires, as well as any other little hissy fits you've thrown, now GET TO MY ROOM AT ONCE." Twilight said.
"h-how d-did y-you k-know m-my f-full n-name?" Celestia was shocked because she fully recognized the tone in Twilight's voice, it was the tone her mother, Clover, used when mad.
"She knows it because she's linked to Clover, who as we know, gave it to you. The Elements of Harmony may be a tool for Harmony, but some times sacrifices must be made. When the element's are chosen, they essentially use the ponies as hosts. Until another set is chosen, the current elements aren't truly themselves, but their elements. Because of this, the elements carry over all the memories of their previous hosts (though in some cases it stops when a new host had been chosen while an old host was still alive, meaning that Twilight's memories from when Clover was the element of magic stop at the point where you were chosen as the new host. Anything that happened before that is able to be accessed by Twilight), but they suppress it, allowing the element to access memories instinctively when the time is right. The times in which an element accesses former host memories can include being asked a question pertaining to a previous host, being in a circumstance where the knowledge an ex-host had is needed, and when the current host is angry. These are just the three main triggers. Also, a current host will usually 'latch' onto a specific former host, in Twilight's case this would be Clover Leaf." Silver said calmly.
"Now go." Twilight said, Celestia recoiled a bit them left to go to Twilight's room, with Twilight following her.
"So it's the same for all of us?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Yep, you can even access Luna's memories, though I would suggest not. It'll take a lot of practice to be able to fully access former host memories at will, I can help if Twilight lets me." Silver said.

2nd
The doors to the throne room of the royal castle of the two pony sisters opened as two guards escorting Solar Sun entered.
"Ah you've found the thief." Nightmare Moon said as the guards removed their helmets, revealing them to be none other than Blazing Moon and Night Blood.
"Yes we have mom." Blazing said to her adopted mother.
"I'll call the other elements and their friend then."
After a minute or so, the remaining Elements of Chaos came in.
"So then." Midnight Defiance said before teleporting right in front of Solar Sun. "Why'd you take that sword?"
"That's why I'm here." Solar sun said. Why am I so calm right now? "I took it because I was hired to do so, I didn't ask questions nor see my employer, since the colt was encased in shadows. How do you do that anyway?"
"Back on track." Night hissed.
"Right, well I listened to what he said once I left and I came here to warn you that he intends to use it to, and I quote, 'Destroy this dimension and the next.'"
"I can't believe you didn't try to get information, you always look into your clients before accepting an employment." Shadow Death said as she grabbed her scythe and placed the blade just under Solar Sun's chin.
"So what's your name anyways?" Defiant Shadow asked.
"Solar sun, my parents were Celestia worshipers, which made me want to get away from them." Solar had fear in her voice.
"Nice to meat you Solar Sun. I'm Princess Midnight Defiance, Element of Magic, and Princess of Magic. This is Shadow Death, Element of Laughter/Fear. Night Blood, Element of Loyalty/Betrayal. Blazing Moon, Element of Kindness/Cruelty, and Princess Nightmare Moon's adopted daughter. Defiant Shadow, Element of Honesty/Deceit. Blade Hex, Element of Generosity/Malevolence. and Shifting Wave, Guardian of the Spirits of the Elements of Chaos." Midnight said, motioning to everypony in question when saying their name.
"Why are you being kind towards her?" Nightmare asked.
"Because, out of all of us, she's the only pony who knows what that sword looks like, and we need to get it back." Midnight said.
"Where would you start?"
"If Solar's employer has any common sense and at least some knowledge of the other dimension they want to destroy and common dimensional theory, then they'd start in the other dimension and, if they'r a vampony, then they'll likely turn somepony there, assuming that dimension doesn't have a vampony virus."
"They are." Solar Sun confirmed.
"You've got a good idea, but how exactly are you going to get to another dimension, much less the correct one?" Nightmare asked
"Simple, we use some lunar magic to enter their dreams and get the information from them, then we get the dimensional and temporal coordinates and I use those to create a small rift for the eight of us to go through." Midnight said
"So you intend to take her with you, but we don't know anything about this dimension, meaning we don't know if it has a day."
"Exactly why we're going in prepared." Midnight's horn lit up in its orange glow, though now it had a blood red outline indicating the use of vampony magic. Midnight and Shifting's crowns formed on their head, both crowns were black with the purple Element of Magic embedded in the them in the way they always did, the only difference between their crowns was that Midnight's had 'Chaos' along the band while Shifting's had 'Harmony' written across the band. Night and Blazing's elements fused with their Armour, embedding the elemental design into the chest part and turning the rest of the Armour black like the bands that had originally held their elements on. Defiant and Shadow's elements formed around their necks, but now both were more like chest pieces. Finally, Blade's element formed around her neck, though it now also had a black cloak attached.
"What of Solar?"
"She'll just wear this." Midnight's horn and element lit up as she levitated a red and black amulet out of her room. "It's been enchanted to create a self sustained shadow cloak, which will be able to protect her should this dimension have a sun, it also will enhance her natural Pegasus and vampony magic, since I've found that vampony magic can manifest in all the pony races if they're turned." Midnight placed the amulet on Solar , then used a little magic to make it a part of a set of armor. "Don't want you standing out from this group." she said playfully.
"Well since you've thought of everything else, I'll assume you've got an idea for a blood source."
"That I do, I've stashed a years worth of blood bags in a pocket dimension and five more years worth in a separate pocket dimension should we need more."
"And you're sure that's a good idea?" Nightmare was mostly secretly testing Midnight.
"Of course. according to Starlit Night's dimensional theory, which is the basis for this part of the plan, a pocket dimension can be opened in any dimension so long as the one opening it is the one that created it, even if they have a counterpart. Should anypony meet their dimensional counterpart, they're free to have some physical contact, but aren't allowed to get more intimate as this would be the crossing of two dimensional blood lines which would cause a dimensional paradox, the same would happen if they brought a virus or bacteria from their dimension to the other dimension. Unless handled carefully by all parties involved, dimensional travel could end both the home and target dimensions as the paradox collides and destroys both." Midnight said with a smile. "Starlit's theories have never been wrong as of yet, let's hope her reputation doesn't die because of this dimension."
"Very good Midnight. Take your group and proceed with your plan, keep your elements and solar's amulet on at all time while there." with that, Nightmare left and the group began their work.
As they spun to leave, Solar threw off her cloak, since she hadn't taken it off, and this revealed the black bubbles that were her cutie mark. Because going to another dimension while having to trust ponies that likely hate you and praying not to be slaughtered while in the other dimension is such a great idea. Solar what have you gotten yourself into this time? Solar thought.

Author's Note

(1st) Interesting that Twilight lit on fire like that (even if it's happened before). This will, hopefully, play a role in the story later.
(2nd) okay I need to try to explain the new designs of the elements and a few other things listed bellow.
1) yes Solar Sun is the 2nd dimension's Derpy Hooves
2) something I completely forgot to mention when the Chaotic Six (the Elements of Chaos) first got their necklaces/crown, instead of gold the elements are black (in that the necklaces or crown that hold them is black.)
3) Starlit Night is the 2nd dimension's version of Starswirl (What? Did you expect every character to keep their original gender?)
4) The color of the texts that read chaos or harmony is the color that they actually are on the crowns, which are basically Twilight's crown after becoming an alicorn and before losing the elements, since that never happened in the 2nd dimension.
5) the armor Night and Blazing are wearing after their elements are embedded in them is black lunar guard armor with the element's gem replacing the eye and so there's a slot in the armor that holds the element and is black. (hope that wasn't confusing)
6) The chest plates Defiant and Shadow are wearing after their elements are given back to them is the same chest plate Nightmare Moon wears except with the element's gem replacing the moon on it and being black in color.
7) Blade Hex's cloak is attached by her element's gem in the front, over the chest. (the element gem acts as a lock to hold the metal clasp, which holds the two sides of the cloak together, closed)
8) The amulet given to Solar Sun is the alicorn amulet modified by Midnight to act as a magic amplifier and spell replicator. It's main color is red while the gems (the red parts of the normal one) are black. The amulet is also embedded on the Lunar Guard armor in a similar fashion to Night and blazing's armor.
9) At the moment, since she's not in battle, Nightmare is wearing regal cloths similar to blue versions of Luna's.
