"Where do Alicorns come from?"

That is a question that princess Celestia have heard far too often, from nobles hoping to in the glory of becoming one, to simple scholars hoping to learn the truth about their world. And recently from a very young Twilight Sparkle and a teenage Cadence who came one day knocking on her chamber's door with the intent on finding an answer.

To their surprise, Celestia gave them the same answer she had been given for over a thousand years, "They come from a place called Mount Olympus."

"And where is that?" they reply.

"I don't know, I haven't been there in a long time that even I don't remember where it is." she finishes her answer with an innocent reply.

And every time that topic came up she would feign ignorance until her student and her niece gave up entirely on that matter.

All was right in the world until one day, several years later, a letter from mount Olympus came to each of the four alicorns inviting them to a wedding of Celestia and Luna's father with someone that isn't their mother.

With all secrets suddenly out of the bags, how will Twilight and Cadence react to a world were being an alicorn is the most normal thing in the world, and being a mortal to top it off is look down upon.

Better yet, how will Celestia and Luna react when all what they knew about their old world shatters around them?
