IceShadow was born on Friday the 13, but that is about it. Nopony knows who his parents were or where he born.

As a filly he was an orphan. He taught himself how to fly and how to control weather. That is how he earned his Cutie mark, A Small snow cloud that is snowing. He earned his cutie mark when he noticed he had a knack for creating Extreme storm clouds. He later got a job in weather management, mainly for some quick extreme weather conditions. He lives in a cave with his books on weather and many other subjects. He now has many friends , but likes to keep to himself. IceShadow is even starting a Rock Farm (of all things) to hopfully make rock candy.

IceShadow as a filly was shy and was left out most of the due to the fact that he had no "parents". In school he excelled in weather. During a school project though, he got a little out of hand. He was making a snow cloud that made rainbow snowflakes when, he lost it. It was found over Ponyville creating a massive blizzard instead of rainbow snowflakes. A few years later he was asked to manage the weather in Ponyville and that didn't go so well. IceShadow jumped on a cloud and a bolt of lightning struck SugerCube Conner, nearly burning it down. He put out the fire by making it snow on the building. This act is what got him his cutie mark.

IceShadow's parents are a complete mystery just like himself. IceShadow is actually the son of Derpy Hooves. This is shown with his love of muffins, his eyes look just like his mothers, and he has been known to be clumsy at times.

Derpy had IceShadow a few weeks before the Winter Wrap Up , hence the name Ice and Shadow comes from his dark flank. IceShadow got out of his crib late one night somehow got on a train to Cloudsdale. His mother sent out search parties, but to no success. There is a blank spot between his infancy and when he moved to his cave.
