1300 years ago, Discord placed the great unicorn Star Swirl the Bearded in a void, never to rest or age, but to live among the world as a ghost. However a mysterious rainbow has brought Star Swirl back in northwest Equestria where he encounters a female earth pony named Apple Butter. Together, they embark on a journey, to a town where, hopefully, Star Swirl will find answers to why he returned.
