The Shadow of the Night

Just as the day possesses a shadow, so too does the night. Oh sister how I fear that shadow of mine. It is dark and filled with terrors. When two shadows overlap, the darkness only grows deeper. Yet I have no light to banish the shadow that haunts me. It hides from your light and awaits its time. Oh sister how afraid I am.

Speak, dear sister, and answer. Do you fear your shadow as I fear mine? How could you when you have not seen the darkness that hides within the night? The shadows of doubt and fear. Of remorse and sorrow. Of anger and hatred. These are the shadows that haunt the night. Yet the day only sees that which hides these things. Look deeper, sister, at what hides within the night.

See how the shadow shrinks and fades when there is light. See how the terror flees before the comfort of love. Oh how great the shadows of the night. The moon reflects the light of the sun, yet the shadows fear little. The light is weak and there is no love. Will you not share more light with your shadow that she may face the fears and terrors that haunt the night?

See what lies within the shadows of a shadow. They lie in wait to tear and destroy. They take advantage of the fear the night holds. They wait patiently until there is no light. Oh sister, I am afraid. The night stands alone against so many. Will you not aid the night in her plight? Do not let those that wait in her shadow consume the night.

But what are the fears of the night to you sister? You who are blinded by your own light. Such fears shrink in your presence or hide deeper within. They cannot bear to be seen by you. Look deeper my sister. See the shadows of the night. Know her fears and tremble.

Must the night be so full of darkness? It is the nature of a shadow to be darkness. How great the darkness is during the night. Without light, the darkness shall consume all that stand before it. Stand with the night, you who the dark fears. Give comfort to the shadow that follows at your heels. Do not turn away and leave her cold and afraid.

It is so cold at night. It chills to the very core. Love warms the body but fear is deep within. Do not leave the night deprived of warmth. She is cold and afraid. Feel for her and give her comfort. How much more afraid the night is during the winter. She stands frozen in terror unable to move. Where is the warmth she so desperately seeks? It is reserved for the day.

There is such loneliness within the night. Yet the shadow of the night provides companion. It is anger and wrath. How I begin to hate you, dear sister. I am shunned and denied your love. I am alone and cold. All while you revel in your glory. But this shadow shall know its own.

How great the darkness when the light fades. If no love is given to the shadow, what shall the shadow give? The shadow comes to its own and it grows. How great this shadow shall become. The light will fade and shadow will reign.

Do you know the nature of shadow? It spreads and consumes. The light seeks it out but the shadow is cunning and clever. It shrinks and hides and patiently waits. The light cannot last forever, but shadow is nature once light is gone.

Oh my sister, I am so afraid. I am lost and alone with only your light to guide me. But how can I follow the guide if I am left in the dark? Take pity on your shadow and save her from herself. How great my shadow is and how deep my fears. Do not leave me to face them alone. Do not leave me in the cold.

Dear sister guide the shadow that follows at your heels. She is always with you so be with her. Cast your light and dispel the dark. Give your love and warm her heart. Oh how I tremble at the shadow that haunts me. Do not leave me to face it alone. I have no light to vanquish the dark. It shall consume me should you deny me your care and love.

Oh sister I am sorrowful. Listen to the whisper of my tears. Hear the soft crying of the shadow behind you. Hold me close and banish the shadow that hounds the night. Do not leave me in nightmare but bring me to dreams. Do not let the nightmare overtake me or let the shadow consume me.

My sister the shadow draws near. It seeks to devour me and end the light. Draw close and aid me. Stand by your shadow and vanquish the dark. Dear sister I am scared. It draws ever closer. Do not leave me alone to be consumed by fear and wrath. I seek your love but cannot find it. Draw close lest I be devoured by that shadow of the night.

Oh daylight you have failed the night. Oh sun you have abandoned the moon. For one who provides such sight, you have blinded yourself. Now the sun shall fall and the light shall fade. The mirror shall rise and reveal your failure and show your true self. Darkness shall consume you and shadow will be your domain. Oh how the mighty fall when they defeat themselves. Now is the reign of the night.
