It was a typical day in Ponyville. The sun shining brightly down on the happy townsfolk as many of them frolicked about the town. A particular purple dragon in the town was carrying a brown paper bag full of what one would simply assume to be a toy or a trinket of some sort, judging by his childish excitement of what was inside.
He turned to the purple alicorn beside him, deciding to break the silence between them out of boredom. "Hey Twilight, Rainbow Dash must have gotten up extra early," he stated. "It does look like it Spike, but at least we get to enjoy a nice sunny day," the mare replied.
"Do you think Rarity will like my gift that I picked out for her?" The young dragon stared at Twilight with his emerald orbs shimmering with hope for her response to be a 'yes'. Twilight rolled her eyes and stated bluntly, "I'm sure she'll like it, Spike. There's no need to worry about it so-," she was broken off due to interruption from her purple dragon companion. "Okay, so you're saying she'll like it? Great! I just need to get this to her!"
Twilight facehooved and let out a sigh of exasperation, "Okay Spike, I suppose it should be fine since she closed the boutique for the day and is taking some time off of her work; it would probably be best to give it to her today than to wait until she is busy with other things. Anyway, I have a few more errands to run, so meet me at the library later."
He had already gone off about halfway through her first sentence. Spike held the bag in his hand with extra care, protecting it from anything that could damage it. Within minutes, he'd found himself at the front entrance to his long beloved crush's boutique shop.
Oh how he longed to gaze upon her glorious beauty... Oh how his heart fluttered at the mere thought of her... Too bad she would hardly even notice someone like him...
Just the mere image of the gorgeous white unicorn mare and her perfect, wavy amethyst colored mane made his heart pound to the beat of his lovesick rhythm full of sheer desire to have her as his own. The only thing that was able to snap him back to reality was hearing the sound of something crashing to the floor from inside.
He panicked and without a second thought, he placed his claw on the door handle and turned the knob, racing inside at the fastest pace his poor little feet could carry him; not even pausing to think once about why the door was unlocked in the first place.
There before him, laying in the center of the floor was one of the mannequins that Rarity always used, only it had glitter and what appeared to be red paint spilled out all over it. Spike approached the mannequin to examine it and see what might have happened; his heart nearly stopping to what he had found. The mannequin's face had a sort of wicked smile somehow sewn into it with black thread, and it had eyes, or perhaps I should say eye sockets, carved into it.
His claws shook in terror as he watched the fake eye sockets ooze out a thick crimson liquid. It was blood. There was blood everywhere. Spike looked up from the scene before him to see writing on the walls in, you guessed it, blood; the words reading, "Aren't I beautiful?"
"R-R-Rarity?" The poor purple dragon squeaked, slowly stepping away from the gorey scene.
Suddenly he bumped into something behind him, turning around to find himself face-to-face with a white unicorn mare bearing a crazed grin upon her face. "Welcome darling," she hummed. "Don't you want me to give you a makeover? You would look quite dashing my dear," she continued, giving him a wicked Cheshire grin.
The next thing the unsuspecting dragon knew, he was knocked unconscious by a magnificent golden staff, studded with only the most glamourous gems.
When at last the poor fellow returned to consciousness, he realized that he was handcuffed to the headboard of Rarity's bed. He quivered fearfulls as she trotted up to him wearing an oddly dark and grim looking dress. The base color of the dress was the crimson color of fresh blood, lined and accented with lace of an unnaturally black color. The stench of death wafted through the air, mingling with the scents of roses, vanilla, and lavender.
Spike opened his mouth to speak, but remained speechless and motionless from fear. To this, the white unicorn mare cackled.
"Silly Spikey Wikey~ I have been waiting to do this for months dreariest.~" She hummed. "I even made this lovely dress for the occasion, it was dyed this gorgeous color by the blood of those who came before you."
The small dragon panicked and attempted to use his fire breath to free himself, but to no avail. It was useless, he couldn't use his fire breath for whatever reason.
"Tsk.Tsk.Tsk. Spikey Wikey can't leave now.~ We haven't even started yet.~" Rarity sang as she climbed atop the bed, stopping only when she was staring at him face-to-face.
The whites of her eyes were as black as a starless night, her eye shadow a dark cherry color. That wasn't the only unusual thing about her, it appeared as if some sort of black substance was pouring down from her eyes, though it seemed to neither be tears nor mascara. And her ears... her ears were pierced in several places: two small silver ringed earrings on either ear, the rest seemed to be black earrings studded with teeth and fangs from various creatures. She wore a choker type of collar with the skull of a phoenix hooked on the front of it.
"R-Rarity!" Spike gasped, eyes widened to the size of saucers.
"Look around Spikey, look at their beauty.~"
Spike gulped, obeying her in spite of what his instincts said. The scene was horrific. You could hardly tell the color of the walls from all of what must have been dried blood covering the usually white surfaces. Disembodied heads dangled down from the ceiling suspended by chains, each head with its eyelids cut off and its tongue split in half. The usual mannequins of Rarity's had mismatched skins of other ponies as fabric layed out on each of them.
"I'm going to make them all into something beautiful... Everypony will be made into an outfit, or a blanket, or whatever I see suits them.~ They will be admired for their beauty, such as everypony desires.~"
The mare used her magic to levitate a small wooden chest out from under the bed. She opened the box and pulled out a scalpel and a kitchen knife.
Spike squealed in terror. "Oh no no no no... Dear Spikey...~ You cannot move, I can't get the incision wrong.~" She paused to think. "Aha! Here, you can look at My dear sister Sweetie Belle while I get to work," she mused as she placed the full body skin of her little sister beside Spike. He'd never had believed that she had actually MURDERED her sister.
Before he could speak, she made an incision on his lower belly; careful not to go too deep into the tissue and only cut the outer layer of skin. Spike cried out in pain, tears welling up in his eyes and threatening to spill. She silenced him by roughly crashing her lips to his, taking the scalpel to cut his eyelids as he was distracted by the moment. His eyes stung from the constant exposure to the air. She whispered to him in a seductive tone, "Oh, I love the way you scream in agony, but I am afraid it is too distracting for me to work properly.~"
"I couldn't deny you the wonder of watching.~" She chuckled. "I need a new pair of boots, and I bet dragon leather is simply divine.~"
The small dragon was completely helpless as she furthered the incision, dragging the blade of the scalpel up until it was just below his throat. She then resumed by dragging it along the base of his neck, not caring that some of his blood was oozing out and lapping at her hooves. The pain was unbearable for Spike, all he could think about was to not lose consciousness.... To not allow himself to die.
Once Rarity had accomplished all that she could with him on his back, she flipped him over onto his belly which caused him to screech in pain. His arms were forcefully crossed in this position, due to the handcuffs, which made him feel even more helpless than before.
Rarity resumed with cutting around the base of his neck, only this time it was the back of his neck.
"If all could see what beauty this world holds~
I would ever so softly be lulled to sleep~
Peaceful dreams would come to me~
Such lovely screams make a symphony~
Do not fear my sweet dear~
Hold me tight~
Just take my hoof
It will be all over soon~
How beautiful you'll be.....~" she sang as she continued to work on skinning him.
At this point he'd wished that she killed him just to get it over with, but the song was oddly soothing. He hummed along to try to ignore the searing pain he felt all over his body.
Once the white unicorn mare had finished her work with the scalpel, she grabbed her kitchen knife and dug it in at an angle so that it would separate his reptilian skin from the muscle rather than penetrating his now soft and vulnerable flesh.
When the deed was done, she peeled the skin from his tender flesh. He let out an ear piercing cry of pain. "Dearest Spikey Wiley.... it could have been worse," she stated.
He nodded in agreement, his eyes once again burning from the combination the exposure to the air, as well as the tears that continued to build up since he couldn't blink them from his eyes.
Spike was somewhat surprised and confused when Rarity flipped him over onto his back once more. He understood what she was doing when he felt the searing pain of the sharpened kitchen knife cutting along at the base of his ribcage.
"I have heard that dragon hearts are more magnificent than the most divine of gems...~"
"R-Rarity...." The small dragon chirped, receiving an attentive stare from her in return.
".....I.... love you..."
"Oh Spikey Wikey..." she sighed as she gently stroked his cheek. Not a heartbeat later she ripped out his heart. Her lips locked with his in a passionate kiss as the life faded from his eyes in his final moment.
She pulled away from his lifeless corpse and picked up his heart, smoothly running her tongue over the small round muscle. Once she finished licking it clean of the access blood, she ripped it in half, gulping down her half of it and placing the other half in the mouth of the now lifeless purple dragon. She swallowed her fill then whispered something to his carcass in the softest and sweetest voice imaginable.
"I love you too Spike."
