“You know Spike you don’t have to be doing this for me I’m technically not a bachelor anymore.” Shining Armor said to Spike although he knew it wouldn’t get him anywhere Spike was too upset about not doing his job the first time to give in.
“Of course I do it’s my assignment and I must be the one who completes it, plus Cadence is okay with it and so is Celestia, so I don’t see why we shouldn’t proceed.” Spike proudly pointed out making gestures with his claws as if to prove his point, he was glad he would get a chance to fix this mistake, as well as the fact that he was able to effectively use the word “proceed” in a sentences.
Shining Armor could only look sadly at the ground; Spike had a point, “As long as it is a small party we don’t need too many people.”
“Well...the thing is…” Spike nervously stammered in response to Shining Armor,
“You already invited half of Canterlot didn’t you,” groaned Shining Armor bringing his hoof up to his face. He didn’t know why he was surprised at that; he knew very well how overboard and carried away Spike could get. It was funny, to him at least, it kind of reminded him of how Twilight, his little sister, acted sometimes. Maybe she taught him that, or maybe this had nothing to do with Twilight and more to do with Spikes lack of observation towards, well, anything. Still, there’s getting carried away, and then there’s inviting half of an entire city to a single party.
“Awww, come on! It’ll be fun! It’ll in the hotel up there and then we have a planned list of all the places we are going to go.” Spike pointed to the hotel that was already spewing out multiple colors of the rainbow from it windows, and seemed to be shaking as if dancing to the music coming from it that one could hear from a block away
“You made the party mobile?!” shouted an already shocked Shining Armor his patience starting to wear thin.
“I know won’t it be great!” Spike squealed completely oblivious to the pain in Shining Armor’s outburst.
Shining Armor gritted his teeth in frustration as he just barley grumbled. “Where is it going?”
“Why, Ponyville of course! It has to be going there!” Spike was so excited he barely seemed capable of standing still.
“But… But… I don’t even know anypony in Ponyville other than my sister and her six friends!!!” Shining Armor’s eyes were wide with rage as smoke came out of his nostrils ‘This was too much, no this is entirely unnecessary. There is absolutely no reason to be going to Ponyville, to make this party mobile, or for it to have so many ponies going!’ He would’ve shouted that too if spike hadn’t interrupted his train of thought.
“But Twilight said it would be a good idea to bring the party to Ponyville,” Spike was still uncertain why Shining Armor was mad but did know now that he was mad.
This didn’t help Shining Armor’s state ‘Why does Twilight care were I go, didn’t Spike do this on my own, who else helped him! WHY, WHY, WHY!!!’ He didn’t respond to Spike for the longest time just stared and gritted his teeth as he tried to come up with an answer, but then he realized how pointless it would be to bring this up since most of it would go over Spike’s head.
“Alright Spike, let’s go in.” Shining Armor was defeated he could not combat the oblivious Spike.
“Alright, let’s party!” Spike wasn’t sure why Shining Armor was upset, but hoped that the party would cheer him up.
Shining Armor:
Inside the hotel’s lobby, Shining Armor could tell all of Canterlot, invited or not, was present. Shining Armor felt his knees start to go in as he entered the crowd only made him wish he was somewhere else even more. It was apparent that the DJ was, of course, Vinyl, and she was being louder than ever, maybe even louder than that. Shining Armor wish he could determine what the song was but he was never really sure how to tell the difference between her songs. The lights were going haywire flipping from one color to another, ponies were already too tired to keep dance and the party had just begun. Shining Armor knew that Spike had some help, but ,as he was shoving his way past the group in front of him, he couldn’t help but wonder who else ‘besides his sister of course’. His question was answered when he saw a familiar pink hue racing towards the entrance, and he knew it was impossible to avoid her now.
“OHMYGOSH!!! You made it! I wasn’t sure you would make it at first I thought you would be to busyorforgetor…” exclaimed the pink blur of sugar and excitement that he knew to be Pinkie Pie.
‘Pinkie. I should have known she was in charge of this party.’ Shining Armor thought wondering why he hadn’t guessed that sooner. Pinkie’s parties were notorious for fun and out of control madness (this madness being quite responsible for the fun), and matched Pinkie’s personality perfectly. The one thing that was weird to Shining Armor was that even for Pinkie this was a huge amount of partiers. In fact, there was so much guest that they shouldn’t have fit. His only guess was that the place was protected from running out of room by some elaborate spell, but whose?
“So Pinkie” waiting until she stopped talking, which took a while, “there is an awful lot of ponies here how is their enough room for all of them?”
“I know right for a while I didn’t even know what to do with all these ponies, luckily I was going for a walk down Canterlot and just wonder about what I should do when who should show up but Fancypants and then he invited me to a party, which got me thinking about…” Shining Armor decided he had nothing better to do so he would wait for the conclusion to Pinkie’s unnecessary long story to finish with.
“I got some help,” she said as she ended her story with a smile quite proud of the story.
Shining Armor stood slack jaw wondering why she just didn’t say that to begin with. He, wasn’t used to dealing with Pinkie Pie alone, because he always saw her with her friends. Which got him thinking about Ponyville, since apparently they would be going their soon, and if Twilight helped Spike then maybe just maybe... “Um, is anyone else here from…” he didn’t get to finish before she answered.
“Nope, Spike wanted to do this on his own, so he wanted as little help he could get, but he needed some help and Twilight’s books didn’t helpsohewenttoapplejackandIthoughtwhydidn’the cometome...”He lost her as she went on a rant that only Pinkie could follow. He chuckled at the idea of Twilight giving spike a book on Bachelor parties; no such book could possibly exist.
Finally Pinkie, finished “Well, I got go refill the punch again, bye!”And she was gone as quick as she appeared.
Shining Armor talked with some of his fellow guards, but it was kind of odd hang out with your captain/prince at a bachelor party post-marriage; this and plus it is kind of difficult to enjoy a party with your boss (especially after allowing an invasion to sneak in under their noses). This was only one of his problems the other problem was that a huge majority of the partiers wouldn’t leave him alone. Most of them he didn’t even know their name yet every time they saw him it was always “Hey Prince Shining Armor” or “Hey it’s the Bachelor,” and then they would approach him like they knew him forever. Most seemed to do it as if to brag to their friends about being buddies with such royalty, others were hoping for something in return. One he swore he was a wingman for simply by nodding his head at all of the questions his captor asked.
The worst were Fancypants and Fleur who seemed to be singling him out and each time they found him it was always to introduce him to somepony of the upper crust who invented the mane comber or something like that. He didn’t even know why they would come to such a party, Fancypants wearing a formal tux and had his mane combed fashionably and Fleur wearing a regal gown and also had her mane combed to perfection, both seemed too formal and out of place here. However, there was always a sense of awe around Fancypants that made you respect him where ever he went. This worked to Shining Armor’s advantage the crowd would always react to their presence and the group that followed Fancypants; this helped warn him of their coming, so he got use to avoiding them. He was considering talking to Pinkie again when he saw another familiar face; Big Macintosh.
“Big” was a good way to describe Big Macintosh. Even for an earth pony he was huge. Not only that, but capable of doing the work of seven common work ponies. He came from a farm that he and a small portion of his family ran. Apart from his size, he was also the eldest child of the Apple family, who owned the largest farm in Ponyville where the town got all of their apples from: Sweet Apple Acres. That wasn’t how Shining Armor knew Big Mac, however. Shining Armor knew him because of his little sister, Applejack, who also worked on the farm. He knew Applejack because she was friends with his younger sister. He also knew applejack from being in charge of preparing food for his wedding. She also helped a little more at that wedding, but that is another story. So he didn’t much know Big Mac as he had been told about Big Mac by Applejack. He recognized Big Mac because of his size, the dark red hue of his coat and the green apple half on his flank representing his special talent, whatever that was.
Seeing as this was the only person who he “knew” and who he thought he could have a good talk with, and since Big Mac seemed to be all alone, Shining Armor decided to talk to him and see if he could get a conversation going.
Big Mac:
Big Mac wasn’t glad to be here. He was playing with a cupcake Pinkie Pie left for him to eat roughly ten minutes ago. He was particularly obsessed with the apple in the cupcake. He was upset that Applejack had “encouraged” him to go to this party. And by “encourage” it meant being given the lecture of “you cannot just hang around the barn all day doing yard work! Why don’tcha go treat yourself to something social?” and then the eventually added “like going to that bachelor party for Shining Armor!” He didn’t want to be here though; he wanted to be at his farm he wanted to be left alone. He didn’t care if he didn’t have many friends; all he needed was his family and his farm, not this social garbage. As he saw Shining Armor, he got ready for the barrage of questions that everypony seemed to be asking him.
“So, great party,” Shining Armor, Said.
“Euyup,” replied Big Mac.
“Is the farm doing well?” Shining Armor said.
“Euyup,” said Big Mac.
“You doing well?”
“Euyup.”
“….”
“….”
“Did your sis make you come here?”
“Euyup.”
“Is AJ here?”
“Nope.”
“Are you enjoying yourself here?”
“Euyup.”
“Are you sure?” Shining Armor seemed pretty skeptical of the idea that Big Mac was enjoying himself here.
“Euyup.” Said Big Mac defiant to give Shining Armor a reason to keep asking questions
‘Now leave me be’ hoped Big Mac.
At this point Shining Armor realized that he wasn’t getting anywhere with this. ‘He is trying to get me to give more than a one word response’ realized Big Mac when Shining Armor didn’t leave. Suddenly, somepony else sat at the table. It was the pegasus who was talking to him earlier. His initial thought ‘why can’t they just leave and go enjoy the party’ then he realized how uncomfortable they were all being in the same boat of being forced to “have a good time”.
Soarin:
“Hey give it up. I tried to get him to talk a while ago, and trust me it is a losing battle. Isn’t that right?”
“Euyup.” Big Mac responded, feeling rather proud of himself.
Soarin, one of the famous Wonderbolts, was only here because the rest of his team had dragged him along with them. They said it had to do something about helping Soarin make friends outside the team. Either way, he would rather be practicing and racing through the sky with his teammates. He felt like he was being punished for his last attempt at the obstacle course with Fleetfoot, but he had apologized and swore it was an accident. He would rather stray away from the huge crowd and not worry about getting mobbed by his over obsessed fans, especially the cute mares who he suddenly would stutter in front of and turn a shade of deep red, so he stayed back with Big Mac, who was a quiet conversation partner, and being back here left him alone with his thoughts. Even though this is where he chose to be he needed, somepony to talk to who would give more than a one word answer, so he was glad to see Shining Armor “the Bachelor” appear.
“Wow, I’m surprised to see you not back at the academy training,” Shining Armor remarked he guessed that the Wonderbolts did an air show for the opening, but a lot of them liked to go back to the academy after most performances.
“Heh, yeah funny how that is,” of course he wanted to be back at the academy any reason to be soaring as fast as he could through the air.
“Well at least you are enjoying the party, right.” Shining Armor hoped for another pony not enjoying this party.
“Sure am!” Soarin replied with a smile completely misinterpreting Shining Armor’s question. ‘As if I could enjoy this party’ Soarin thought as he looked around spotting all the Wonderbolts that stayed, he had been keeping an eye on them ever since he got back here. He didn’t like how they were behaving; they seemed to think that simply being a Wonderbolt meant they were allowed to look down on any pegasus who wasn’t as quick as them. He had half a mind to go over there and talk to them, and the other half was telling him to report this later to Spitfire.
‘I should go over there since he knew if I reported it to Spitfire she would go on about how they are new and just want to stretch their wings out and let them enjoy this while they can, and blah, blah, blah, and isn’t an excuse. There is a way a Wonderbolt should act and it is not how they are currently acting, they should know that before they join.’ He didn’t realize he was getting visibly angry while he thought this and it was a shock to him as much as Big Mac and Shining Armor when he slammed his hoof on the table.
Shining Armor was quick to notice where Soarin was staring, and after taking a look he just seemed to give a knowing smile “Do you want me to go and talk to them?”
Soarin was shocked that Shining Armor noticed, gathering himself he replied “Na, they probably wouldn’t listen anyway, besides it’s their first night on town let them enjoy it,” he frowned as he said it.
“Well” Shining Armor noticed the frown “they might not listen to me but they might listen to Big Mac here,”
“Euyup” Big Mac stood up as he said it moving the table and knocking the cupcake he was playing with for the past hour on to the floor.
Soarin fell to the floor with laughter as Big Mac gingerly picked up the apple slice from the remains of his cupcake and put it back on the table.
‘Big Mac and Shining Armor, I guess there is always worse company,’ thought Soarin. Honestly he was glad, it was nice to find some other ponies to talk to. Better yet it seemed none of them wanted to be at the party either, so they had that in common. This was defiantly not bad company. Suddenly Soarin saw something that made him realize bad company was on the way.
Blueblood:
“Shining Armor might you do something to control this dreadful soiree. Somepony has already almost ruined my mane and I can’t stand all these commoners. I would expect a classier from one of royalty, but I guess you weren’t always born royal. Fear not, new prince, you will soon get used to it,” Blueblood just couldn’t understand how such a chaotic event could be considered a party.
Gritting his teeth an anger boiled within Shining Armor, he knew who it was without turning around. “Why Prince Blueblood! What brings you here?”
The question really didn’t need answering. Fancypants always has a bit of a posse following him around, and Blueblood of course couldn’t turn down such an invitation from someone as regal and importan as Fancypants, so here he was at his brother in law’s (or something like that its complicated), belated-bachelor party. He spent most of his time around high class; anything low would be awful (in his sense), which is why he only came when Fancypants invited him. Of course Shining Armor was part of royalty now so he would have to help him out.
“Shining Armor I realize that you use to be a member of the royal guards, but you are a prince now and you must act in such a manner as to reflect a line of royalty.”
Shining Armor was ready to turn around and deck him. ‘It would be easy just one solid hit from my hoof and he would be on the floor crying.’ Unfortunately Blueblood was family and he shouldn’t fight family.
Blueblood didn’t stop talking “The first thing you have to do is realize and embrace your superiority no more talking to the common rabble, and certainly no more making your own meals, or cleaning your house or…”
Big Mac and Soarin stared in awe more concerned of what Shining Armor might do if Blueblood wouldn’t stop talking. Shining Armor finally turned and gave Blueblood a look that seemed to finally shut him up.
Blueblood didn’t understand Shining Armor’s anger after all he was just trying to help him be a better prince and portray the idea of royalty.
Spike:
Spike had somehow gotten himself separated from Shining Armor in the crowd. He had no idea where he was in the party, or how he got to where he was currently. He decided that the best thing he could do was head toward the bar and get a bearing on where he was and maybe find Shining Armor.
“Hi!!!”
“GAHH!” Yelled Spike, as he jumped as high as he could only to land several feet away, he never saw Pinkie coming.
“Oh, sorry Spike. I didn’t mean to startle you,” Pinkie apologized, upset that she had made him jump that far back.
“Don’t worry about it,” Spike said dusting himself off. “By the way have you seen Shining Armor anywhere?”
“Oh yeah that’s right! I was told to bring him and his friends some punch while they were in the back, but not just any punch superdooperterrificamazingpunchgiventomebythehostofthepartyin adarkandmysteriouscorrner,” Pinkie said in one breath.
“Uh, okay,” Spike didn’t quite get all of that, but he did now notice the tray of punch pinkie had with her. “So, could you lead me to Shining Armor?”
“But they are right over there, silly!” Pinkie pointed to them in the back, how Spike hadn’t seen them before he had no idea how he could have missed all four of the ponies over there in the back away from everything. “OH OH OH! They are playing pin the tail on the pony over there! Spike, can you take these drinks over to Shining Armor and his friends? Because somepony’s tail needs pinning!!!”
And before Spike could even mutter okay, Pinkie disappeared, leaving the drinks in free-fall. Spike just managed to catch the drinks in his claws, stopping them from spilling out on floor. ‘Something feels wrong here’ Spike first thought, but no matter how hard he scratched his head, he couldn’t think of what it might be, so he figured it wasn’t worth worrying about. ‘How bad could it be?’
Shining Armor was the first to notice Spike’s approach, and quickly waved him over to where he and the rest of his new companions were located. “Spike! There you are! I was just wondering where you wandered off to.” Especially since any new company was better than Blueblood “Wait, what’s with the drinks?”
“Oh, right, Pinkie told me to get these drinks to you,” said Spike proudly. Serving drinks was one thing Spike knew he could do.
“She did?” Shining Armor asked, a little surprised that Pinkie would do such a thing.
“Yeah,” Spike said and put the tray on Big Mac’s table, which was now everyone’s table.
“Well that was kind of her,” mused Shining armor. The others nodded agreeing; none of them wanted to go back into the crowd to get refreshments.
“Well, then here is a toast to a great night, err, a better night!” Shining stated and raised his glass.
“Alright” “Okay” “Eyup”
“Do we have to drink this common beverage,” whinnied Blue Blood.
“Shut up and toast,” replied Soarin
After their toast and their punch they had a night that none of them would ever remember, and none of them could ever forget.
Ω Ω Ω
From the only vacant corner in the party, a mysterious hooded stranger watched the group from the back in a dark corner “Did they get my drinks?” the stranger asked.
“Yessirei!” Smiled Pinkie as she hopped on by.
‘Good’ thought the stranger ‘there might be some fun to be had at this party yet’. At last it seemed playing host and providing the magic for this party was providing some benefit.
Spike:
When he came to Spike first realized he was in pain, he secondly realized that he was still in the hotel in Canterlot. He laid on the ground for a while thinking about how good it felt just to lay there, followed quickly by the thought of how much his head hurt. Finally, after a couple minutes of deliberating, it he decided to stand up as he wobbled to his feet he started to observe the situation he was in.
The lobby, a lot smaller now due to the lack of magic, was trashed. There were cups all over the floor as well as wrappers and even food was on the ground. The trash was so much that spike couldn’t even see the floor which explains why he tripped over the pony hidden amongst the refuse.
“Ohhhh, great party,” Said the pony as she woke when Spike hit the floor, with a thud.
“Oh, yeah sure,” Spike was rubbing his aching head, and slowly standing up “Wait, who are you?!” Staring at the mysterious mare with a purple coat and a light purple mane.
“… You don’t remember anything do you?”
“No, wait how do you know that? And uhhh, who are you?”
“That’s okay that is how you know you had a great party, and you and your friends were definitely the life of the party.”
“Oh, really thanks,” said Spike as he looked at the mare in front of him with a bit of agitation and worry in his eyes “But I’m just wondering who was I with? Why were we the life of the party? AND WHO ARE YOU?!”
“Whoa, whoa, chill out, jeeze, I’m Berry punch and I was about to tell you.”
‘Yeah sure you were,’ thought an agitated bitter Spike
“So who was I with?” Spike asked in a whisper so his head wouldn’t hurt so much.
“Uhhh, hmmmm, I think it was a unicorn, no two unicorns, an earthpony and a Pegasus. Yeah that is right and one of the unicorns was the bachelor.”
“Wait, wait wait” as Spike tried to process what she was saying, it seemed like she was talking as quick as Pinkie and so loud. “Not so loud, why were we the life of the party?”
“Oh, well, I think it was before we went to Ponyville, you guys were everywhere talking to everyone, I think one of you even beat Pinkie in Pin the Tail on the pony.”
“Ponyville, uhh, where am I?”
“Canterlot”
“Oh…why am I here?”
“How am I supposed to know that, I’m not a magic eight ball you can ask all your questions to! You just walked in here and opened the door waking me up picked up the broom and started sweeping then I went back to sleep and then you kicked me.” She was starting to get fed up with the constant string of questions.
“Okay okay I got it, just don’t yell” whispered Spike then he considered something “Wait a minute were you even invited to the party?”
“…Oh my look at the time I got to go” and like that she was gone.
Spike had guessed she wasn’t invited, guess he better finish what he started and clean up here departure, and he realized he was already late to getting back to Ponyville might as well take his time getting back Twilight would be lecturing him anyway. However he found that the other janitors trying to clean up didn’t like him being their so he decided to get out of their way. He decided to wash up before heading back home and to a brisk walk down the street to the train station. While he was walking he only then realized how odd it was that the disco ball from the party last night was still up before he left.
When he made it to the train station he went to buy his ticket with relative ease, since it was early enough for there to be a short line. He then waits to sit on the bench and wait for the train cradling his aching head.
“Spike.”
He thought he heard something, sounded like his name, but as he surveyed the platform he noticed a lack of many ponies and those he noticed were not interested in him and he didn’t know. ‘Great now I’m hearing things as well as having a huge headache, what else can go wrong’ Spike didn’t want to cry but the stress of the day so far was starting to catch up with him.
“Spike.”
There it was again, maybe if he ignored it it would go away.
“Spike!”
No, somepony was definitely calling for him, maybe they were pranking him, which would explain everything that happened today. Who would do this? Pinkie was she around were was she if she was around? So he got up from the bench and started to look around in a panic checking the bushes the wooden floor of the platform, and then he noticed the other Ponies their staring at him strangely. Red as a rose he slowly moved his arm behind his head and gave a slight chuckle.
Luckily, as if to save him from further embarrassment, the train to Ponyville arrived on the platform and he was able to board, but as he got on he could have sworn he heard his name and look up, but he wasn’t sure so he took a seat and waited to head home.
Soarin:
His location was a mystery to him and even upon awaking he had no idea where he was, what he smelled like, why he couldn’t remember anything, and he didn’t even notice the banana peel on his head, but none of that mattered the only thing of importance to him was that he was late, very very late. If he didn’t show up for his role call with the Wonderbolts he would be in great trouble. He took off instantly not giving any head of where he was and flew as fast as he could to the academy.
Unfortunately he had no idea where the academy is so he zipped along several alleys scaring both ponies and any stray cats wandering around. He noticed that he was going nowhere in a hurry and everything looked the same so he did the only logical thing a Wonderbolt could do and went up. When he saw the castle he knew he was definitely still in Canterlot and that was a good thing at least. He then used the castle to help himself navigate correctly to the academy.
He knew he was late upon arrival so he wasn’t surprised to see Fleetfoot waiting what did surprise him is that when he approached she started laughing. Just laughing, not mad or upset just laughing.
“Wha… what is going on?” Soarin asked greatly puzzled and only now realized he had a headache.
“You, you ha ha-ha-ha, why do you, ha ha ha, where have you been, ha ha ha, were you up all night ha party ha ha ing.” Fleetfoot barely to get it all out in between fits of laughter and giggles.
Soarin didn’t know what was going on but did know that he seemed to be the butt end of some joke, and he didn’t like that at all. He decided he should at least talk to Spitfire.
“Out of my way Fleetfoot.” He growled at her as he passed.
Fleetfoot just managed to get out as he passed “wait you got something on your….”
“On my what huh, Fleetfoot on my what?!” Soarin roared in annoyance more than concern as he glared murderously at Fleetfoot only inches away from her face. Fleetfoot just laughed as she removed the banana peel that had somehow managed to stay on Soarin’s head. As Soarin saw it he turned bright read realizing that the peel had been there the whole time. As he turned to leave he could hear Fleetfoot laughing all the louder. ‘It wasn’t that funny’ he thought still red.
Soarin could tell the instance he walked into Spitfire’s office that he was in trouble, the look on her face told him everything. However, instead of being chewed out what followed after he entered was just silence, a strong silence.
“Soarin, checking in.” Soarin said in a sweat hopping to break this awkward silence.
“You have some nerve you know that.”
“Uhhh, no?” Soarin didn’t know what she was referring to.
“Yes you do, no pony who said what you said last night couldn’t be lack in nerves.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I understand you wanting to remind the new recruits to act properly in public, but you should at least set a good example, if you are going to say anything.”
“What in Equestria are you talking about?”
“You chewed out some new recruits something about them not being real Wonderbolts or at least not acting like real Wonderbolts, which is fine I guess, but you were drunk when you said it. You then went on to make a total fool of yourself at the party.”
“I… WHAT!?” Soarin stood there with his jaw on the floor, and considered everything he just heard. His heart broke his world shattered he never lost control like that, how could he act like such an idiot, and definitely not like a Wonderbolt, he was a disgrace how could he ever continue. He had to make this up
Spitfire was completely caught off guard by this she didn’t suspect Soarin to react like that “No need to worry I won’t be reporting this to HQ for your sake, plus I understand you acting that way in the, err condition you were in. I mean hey it happens to everyone” playing wither her mane while she said that “every now and again.”
“Uhhhh” Soarin needed a moment to recover.
“Uhh, well yes err good day Soarin you are well dismissed” Spitfire was put off by Soarin’s current condition and was ready to get him out of here.
“Wait!” As Soarin finally came to, “what else did I do last night?”
“I don’t know you left with your friends when we got to Ponyville and I didn’t see you again.”
“Friends? What friends?”
“…Wow, that must have been some potent stuff you drank last night. I think there were three other ponies and a baby dragon or something like that I don’t really now.”
“A baby dragon?”
“Yeah, go figure were that came from, maybe it was a dog or something?”
‘That sounds too familiar, where have I heard of a baby dragon before, do I now a baby dragon.’ A word came to his head, maybe a name Spike, that is it Spike the dragon.
“Is that the last you saw me that night?” He had to know what else happened last night maybe he could make it all right.
“Well I mean no, but nothing else had to relate with Wonderbolt business, so unless you killed somepony I wouldn’t worry about it… you didn’t kill anypony did you?”
“What! No, of course not,” Soarin had to make this up he knew he could make this up maybe if he could find Spike. “Don’t worry I will make this up for this it will be as if it didn’t happen.”
“You don’t have to do this in fact, you probably shouldn’t” Spitfire said concerned for Soarin’s mental health
“Excuse me mam I have to go take care of some business from last night.” Soarin said “I do not know when I will be back”
“I’m telling you I already took care of it” Said Spitfire.
With that Soarin flew as quickly as he could first he had to apologize to the new recruits and then he would find Spike
Apologizing to the new recruits was easy enough, honestly they still seemed afraid of him. Now all he had to do was fine Spike he figured out the hotel the party started in and decided to start there. When he entered the lobby there were janitors everywhere attempting to clean the mess from last night. Soarin couldn’t believe his luck he went instantly to one of the janitors asking for a baby dragon. The only one to respond was a pony with a light gray coat, a white mustache, wearing thick black glasses and had black mane with gray on the end.
“Yeah I saw a baby dragon, guy was trying to help and just ended up getting in the way. So I asked him to go home and that is where he went.”
‘Well that was kind of rude’ thought Soarin. “Where did he go?”
“Beats me the train station probably, why this guy owe you money?” But before he could finish Soarin was gone “Fine don’t talk to me I’m just a janitor, how rude these kids are today.” The janitor mumbled to himself.
Soarin raced as fast as he could to the train station and suddenly he could see it in the distance
“SPIKE!” he yelled as loud as he could
“SPIKE!!” he yelled again as he got closer
“Spike!” he yelled a third a bit out of breath so not as loud just as he reached the train station. As he hovered above he saw Spike, or what looked like Spike at least, entering the train
“Spike, look up!” he yelled as he charged the train hoping that Spike would see him. He zoomed through the isles looking for Spike, but he couldn’t find him in this car so he entered the next car then the next car, and as he was about to search the last car He hear the whistle blow and the train move, he needed to get out he looked for the doors, but they were all closed he went to sit down and a seat with a feeling of defeat. ‘I guess I will have to get out and take the next train back to Canterlot and except defeat. Now I will never know what I did last night.’ He said unaware of the sleeping baby dragon two seats behind him.
Big Mac:
When Big Mac woke up the first thing he noticed was his headache. The second thing he noticed was the area around him. The alley he was in was dark and full of muck from Bon-Bon’s candy store; all the wrappers and sticks from lollipops, the uneaten remains of the other candy was everywhere. It seemed to him that the next base place to go would be Bon-Bon’s Candy. Still there was a nagging feeling in the back of his mind like he had forgotten something important. He knew he was in an alley in Ponyville, but why he was there he didn’t know. He was surprised that he was suffering so much it should take a lot to make him forget the events of last night, whatever they were, but some of it was still there although blurry. He wasn’t able to notice all the faces that kept showing up he noticed Spike and Shining Armor, but the Pegasus and the Unicorn were hard to remember. He looked back down at all the candy, it looked like two full bags worth, and about half of it was eaten. ‘Oh pony feathers, I hope I didn’t steal any of this candy, I would hate to have taken anything from Bon-Bon when in the condition I was in.’ He decided to go and make sure he didn’t do, even though he would never do something like that, just to be safe, and if he did take the candy would apologize and pay her for the candy.
He arrived there in a short time since it is such a small town to be in and it appeared that Bon-Bon was just opening. He decided he would walk in and see what was going on, he didn’t like to talk much, but luckily most people in town new this and were willing to do most of the talking for him.
“Hello Big Mac, good morning isn’t it?” Said Bon-Bon smiling, an earthpony with a pale coat and a nice dark purple mane with a bit of pink on the side. She looked like she belonged behind the counter of her candy store full with all sorts of goodies from your most basic chocolates and giant lollipops to the sour drops and different flavored sugar cubes. He was glad she wasn’t acting timid around him it was a good sign that he didn’t forcibly take the candy from her.
“Nope” said Big Mac hoping to get some info.
“What is wrong?” Big Mac didn’t respond. “Does it have to do with last night that is when I saw you last, with Spike too?”
“Euyup” Big Mac was glad a lot of the ponies in this town knew of his dislike for chit chat and would ask most of the questions and fill in the blanks for him.
“You were my last order of the day, before I closed you ordered a bunch of candy and then left to go, and get the biggest sugar rush you could. Spike was saying something about going back to Canterlot afterwards, he mentioned it a lot in fact, something about cleaning up the mess. Was the sugar rush to much?”
“Euyup” Said Big Mac that might have been why I was asleep in that ally.
“Would you like anymore candy?” asked Bon-Bon.
“Euy…” began Big Mac, thinking it would be rude to not purchase something after being given all that information. Then he heard his stomach growl up displeased with his events last night, and decided against having more candy. “Nope” he declined politely.
He was late for his duties on the farm, but Applejack was expecting him to be late because of the party anyway. So he started on his way to the Appleacres going across Ponyville.
On his way across he was approached by Twilight Sparkle who appeared to be more anxious and nervous than ever. The younger sister of Shining armor the purple pony approached Big Mac the second she saw him.
“Big Mac, you wouldn’t happen to know where Spike is would you I really, really, REALLY need to speak with him.”
“Umm, Euyup” Said Big Mac happy to help, but the look in her eyes seemed a little off, and her mane was looking a little messy.
“Thank goodness do you know where he is?”
Big Mac knew were Spike was, but didn’t want to speak, and was hoping Twilight would make it easier for him. She didn’t.
“WHERE IS HE!?” Twilight yelled sweat trickling down her forehead as she moved way to close expecting an immediate answer.
Big Mac let out a gulp of fear before answering “Canterlot.” in a weak whimper
“WHAT!? He should be here in Ponyville why did he go back?!” Twilight looked like she would blow up soon
“Cleaning” Big Mac responded hoping she would stop.
But Twilight wasn’t looking for an answer she was coming up with one. “What if he got lost, what if he doesn’t know where he is, What if he got kidnapped?! I have to go and rescue Spike!” After the outburst she started taking some deep breaths then turned to Big Mac “thanks for your help,” she said as if remembering her manners. With that she ran back home to pack and ready for the journey to Canterlot.
Big Mac was glad he wasn’t Spike, and was about to continue on his way to the farm when he heard a very familiar voice.
“There you are!” Said Applejack and with the tone of her voice that was starting to make Big Mac wish he was Spike.
“I have been looking all over for you were have you been?”
“Uhh”
“Don’t you know what you did last night? There ain’t no way you could forget what you did.”
“Well”
“HOW THE HAY COULD YOU FORGET WHAT YOU DID LAST NIGHT!?” staring him down in silence as if expecting a reply she knew would never come.
“Fine, follow me then I reckon I ought to show you the damage you caused.” She
But based on how she was acting Big Mac was afraid he already knew what he did last night, even if he couldn’t remember.
Blueblood:
He woke up on a dirt road and was instantly disgusted that he had been applying his royal hooves to this dirt road. As he struggled to stand up in order to continue on his way, he had to get back to Canterlot before they all started missing him back at home. He could see them now searching every house and building in Canterlot mares crying at the lost they suffered due to his disappearance, he felt so sorry for them. He struggled to walk forward almost tripping on himself several times, he wondered why this was he was normally very graceful. Then he realized he didn’t know where he was, or how he got here at all. Horrified to realize this he was only more horrified to realize that something was wrong with his mane. ‘Wait he thought was I lying on the dirt road? Is their dirt in my mane?’ He instantly started pawing at his mane desperately trying to get the dirt of only to fall again into the dirt. He screamed then he saw the river and decided that he should wash the dirt out there, it might be disgusting unclean water, but it was better than dirt.
. It was a slow hobble up to the river and as he moved he saw a bridge that seemed to lead into a small town of sorts, ‘Thank Celestia a town I’m saved, it might be a barbaric town with dirt roads, but at least they can get me back to Canterlot’ He was almost at the river when he heard a rustle from the brush just behind him, and a loud noise that couldn’t be described as a scream, but sounded more like a blood curling howl.
“THERE YOU ARE!!!”
Blueblood turned around to see a mare with a white coat and an exquisitely styled purple mane, or more of what should have been a styled mane, but it was so dirty and broken up with sticks stuck in it that the poor mane seemed injured. Although the mane would have been the normally been the most catching feature of such a barbaric pony the focus of this pony what stood out to him were the eyes. Her eyes were full of rage, and hate and they were looking directly at him. When he saw steam coming out of her nostrils and that she was pawing the ground he decided that he should start running from this mad mare.
It was very difficult for him to gather himself but he luckily had a lead on her as he bolted and she raced after him. He was slower and having such a hard time keeping his balance he could tell she was on his heels just after him. He could hear her shouting what she was going to do with him when she caught him and that only went to frighten him even more. They raced across the bridge and into the town. As they raced into town a few ponies saw them one screamed after them but whatever the pony said was quickly drowned as background to his goal of survival. He knew if he was caught by her it was all over, he knew this mainly because she told him so.
“I have you know!” yelled the deranged pony
Blueblood knew he needed to lose her so in desperate effort he made a sharp turn down a ally to get out of her sight, but as he turned he heard a clink and began to fall as he fell he saw it all go his life flashed before his eyes. He could even see the funeral his eulogy would, cut of in his prime by a barbaric mare with rage issues. The world has suffered a great loss at the death of such a noble and well-loved prince, but before he could see more his head hit the cobblestone below with a loud, thud. His head throbbed it took all his effort not to pass out, and he readied to look his attacker in the face, but she never came. Surprised he struggled back to his feet and then he saw it a piece of hair fall from his mane on to the cobblestone. He stared at it in awe with great discuss he couldn’t think for a while he couldn’t even recognize what he had just seen, he had to get this taken care of right now. He needed to find a spa crazy mare or none, for if he was to die in this dreadful town he might as well die looking good. With that he moved off, completely unaware of the mare behind him who had face planted on the cobblestone when she missed her diving tackle.
