An Incident After Dinner.
A/N: This is based off the Applejoy-verse by BronyNeumo which is now my headcanon.

It was a blissfully quiet evening on Sweet Apple Acres and Fluttershy sighed in contentment. Dinner had been a rousing success, made by the combined efforts of Applejack and Fluttershy. A hearty blend of Spaghetti with marinara sauce, green bean casserole, a big loaf of garlic bread, and of course, a big platter of apple fritters for dessert.
After the crumbs had been swept away, Applejack went to sweep the porch and Rainbow Dash headed to the bathroom. Somepony might think that was merely an excuse to get out of work but for a mare in Rainbow’s condition it was a legitimate excuse. Fluttershy didn’t mind. She enjoyed this chance to bond with her massive husband, even though they rarely spoke.
Big Macintosh handed his wife a wiped down casserole dish and Fluttershy tucked it away in it's drawer.
Even thought the Apple Family had a dishwasher now, both Fluttershy and her husband Big Macintosh, remembered scrubbing dishes with their families and enjoying the conversation and companionship that such a simple activity brought. Neither pony was big on conversation but both loved the chance to do something together even if it was ultimately a boring chore as Rainbow Dash described it.
Her eyes flickered up to the window and she smiled as she saw the children play in the gathering twilight. Rainbow Dash's and Applejack’s daughter, Applejoy was buzzing several feet of the ground on her little wings, laughing as she watched Fluttershy’s daughter Sweet Blossom desperately try to join her on her own wings if not for her twin brother Honeycrisp sinking his teeth onto his sister’s tail and being dragged around on his rump. Apple Bloom was trying to corral the three into behaving, while her marefriend Scootaloo simply hovered overhead laughing in delight and occasionally high hoofing Applejoy, who had become quite attached to the fellow orange pegasus over the past year or so since Scoots had moved in.
“Need to appreciate this quiet time. There won’t be very many in a while.” her thoughts drifting to Rainbow Dash’s bulging belly. Soon another little Apple would be added to the family tree.
Fluttershy sighed again. Big Macintosh leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. The foals laughed in delight outside.
Life was good.
Too good to last.
They red and yellow couple was just about finished with putting away the dishes and were rubbing down the last of the coffee mugs, when Big Macintosh reached into the back of the dishwasher and a look of confusion came across his face. What he pulled out of the back of the rack was long, thick and made of black rubber. It was also rounded on both ends.
“Oh my” squeaked Fluttershy.
Big Macintosh looked at the object in confusion for a moment but Fluttershy knew what the object was the moment she saw it, which is why she was blushing.
She was single for quite a while, after all.
“Is this what Ah think it is” said Big Macintosh with a look of dawning comprehension.
“Um…yes” squeaked Fluttershy, some of her old shyness creeping back. Big Macintosh didn’t reply, staring at the wall with wide eyes.
“Um, I can handle it Big Mac, if you don’t mind.” she quickly snatched the object from her husband’s hoof, which remained in its original position as the stallions face quickly contorted in an expression of disgust.
Fluttershy was halfway off the stairs when suddenly-
“EEEEYYYYAAAAAUUUGGGHHH!!!”
The yellow pegasus squeaked and dived under the rug. A door open and a more rounded Rainbow Dash emerged. She stared back in the direction of the kitchen and then to the quivering lump under the rung.
“What was that about” asked the pregnant pegasus. Fluttershy poked her nose out of from under the rug.
“Fluttershy?” asked Rainbow Dash, kneeling down as far as her belly would allow.
“Um Rainbow,” said Fluttershy, who was sporting an impressive blush. “f you and Applejack don’t mind. Could not wash your um…stallion substitute in the dishwasher?”
Back in the kitchen, Big Macintosh had shoved the entire cupboard back into the washing machine and had emptied the entire box of soap.
