Just a Flutter away

"Attention all pegasi! Meeting tonight for all Pegasi!" Rainbow dash yelled "Ponyville

has to get that water up to cloudsdale, and we need every Pony we can get!"

Rainbow dash handed the fliers to each pegasus. Fluttershy read the flier, as with every

other pegasi. Reading the flier alone brought back memories to her. Fluttershy did not want to

help, as much as she would disappoint rainbow dash for not flying, she would

disappoint everypony else if she messed up.

"You'll help us to Fluttershy? right?" Rainbow dash asked fluttershy.

"Oh, Rainbow dash... You know I'd help you, but..." Fluttershy said,

she didn't want to upset rainbow dash for not going. So, she made up

an excuse "I'm... busy that night" Said fluttershy.

"Busy... uh-huh." Rainbow dash said "I knew you'd make an excuse to avoid flying.

You better be here tonight for the meeting, fluttershy." Fluttershy didn't really know what to do,

so she just nodded in agreement. Fluttershy walked down to her cottage and as soon as she walked

into her house, she shut the door, and collapsed onto her bed.

"Oh angel bunny! What am I supposed to do? I don't want to hurt Rainbow dash's feelings, but

I also don't wantto fly... What do I do angel?" Fluttershy whimpered Angel Jumped up and down, and

stomped his paw vigorously.

"Whats that? Fly anyway? But angel..." Angel jumped even faster "Fine..." Fluttershy said.

Fluttershy started to get ready, she brushed her mane, washed her hooves, and by then

it was already time for the meeting. Fluttershy nervously left her cottage to go to the library,

and decided to avoid the meeting. She would have gone home but she promised angel she'd stay at the

meeting, so she hid behind a tree.

"Oh, there you are. I thought you'd chicken out of this." Called rainbow dash.

"eeep!" Fluttershy let out "You startled me!"

"Come on fluttershy you're going to the meeting!" rainbow dash said as she pushed fluttershy into the

library.

"Okay! Ponyvile has been given the task of supplying the rainwater for

cloudsdale this year!" Rainbow dash yelled "We have to create a tornado to lift the

water up to cloudsdale, This tornado has to be 300 wing-power! However, I think we can

beat the record, Manhattan set, with 1000 wing power! This means everyone has to have

a wing power of at least 10. To do this you have to train, and train HARD! Practice

will start tomorrow, don't be late! Meeting dismissed." Fluttershy began walking home,

"10 wing power? I don't think I can do this..." Fluttershy whimpered.

She walked home and went to bed. When she awoke, she felt rather nervous about

going to practice. Unlike most pegasi, she couldn't really fly. A prime example of this

would be flight camp. Flight camp was a place where young pegasi would train to be

good at flying. Fluttershy, however, was the only one who could barely fly,

and ontop of this the other fillies would taunt her by chanting

"Fluttershy can hardly fly, Fluttershy can hardly fly!" Fluttershy teared up at the thought of

this, and didn't want anything like this happening again. So she drew some red

dots all over to pretend she was sick. *Ring!* *Ring!* The door bell rang, and

fluttershy rushed over to the door to open it.

"Whats the matter? Why aren't you at practice fluttershy?" Rainbow dash asked

"Well, umm... you see rainbow dash I have a terrible case of the *cough* pony-pocks.... *achoo*."

Fluttershy said.

"Well, you know the cure to pony-pocks, right?" Rainbow dash asked

"Yes, plenty of rest and some-" "COLD WATER!" Rainbow dash interrupted.

The cold water washed the fake spots off right away "Well, what do you know, those spots are

coming off just fine" Rainbow dash stated "Come lets go to practice now, fluttershy."

"well, I'd love to but.... My wing is broken" whispered fluttershy she flapped her wing

"oh... ow."

"Yeah... Sure" Rainbow dash said as she rolled her eyes, "Come on

fluttershy!" "um...but...No!" Fluttershy stated "Come ON fluttershy!" Rainbow dash

said pushing her out the door. Eventually they made it to the training grounds,

and everyone seemed nice.

"Okay every pony!" Twilight announced "this is a wing- o-meter, it measures

the power of  your wing velocity when you fly by it, and then

tells you your wing power! any questions?"

"Umm... Just one. What does that mean?" Cloud kicker asked.

"It tells you how fast you're going and how strong your wings are." Spike said.

"Oh, okay." Said cloud kicker.

"Okay you first cloud kicker!" Rainbow dash said. Cloud kicker zoomed down the track,

and then came to a halt after passing the wing-o-meter.

"8.5, not bad." said Rainbow dash. Eventually, it was fluttershy's turn.

Fluttershy stood at the starting line, waiting for the sign.

"Okay, go!" Rainbow dash yelled.

Fluttershy started flying down the track, she was going moderately fast, but quite

slower than every pony else. Half way down the track she heard two ponies laughing.

Then thoughts got back into her head

"Fluttershy, can hardly fly! Fluttershy, Fluttershy can hardly fly!" The voices taunted her again.

She slowed down quite a lot, getting only a 1.5. "you tell her" said rainbow dash nudging spike.

Spike walked forward

"umm... congrats on getting... a 1.5..." He said

"What? Only a 1.5? But... that must be a mistake!" Fluttershy said. Fluttershy started running off,

"Fluttershy! Wait! Don't leave!" Rainbow dash called

"But rainbow dash, you have a 15! How would you like it if every pony was flying at a 10, and

you had a 1.5? Huh?" Fluttershy cried as she ran off crying.

"wait... but fluttershy!" Rainbow called, but fluttershy couldn't hear her.

"She is right rainbow dash..." Spike said as he patted rainbow dash on the back.

"Shut up! You just... Just leave me alone!" Rainbow dash yelled almost in tears.

"but...Rainbow." Spike said.

" I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!" Rainbow dash yelled as she ran off after fluttershy.
