Author's Note

Sorry, I posted this late and its shorter than expected. No clop in this chapter, sorry. I'm away in Toronto for a baseball "thing" as some might say. This is all I have time to do. And I'm not actually 12.

Surprise (Epilogue)

It hasn't been the same around the barn for Golden Bullet. He was still having thoughts about what Apple Bloom had done to him, and it was keeping him from earning his pay. He has been avoiding Apple Bloom for doing such a thing, and even, brought it up to Applejack. He couldn't believe the punishment they gave her. She was stuck doing all the chores at Sweet Apple Acres. The work she did looked brutal, and she got no water break. Golden got the easy part of, while only getting paid a bit per day until she was off the hook, making sure Apple Bloom had continued her work without a break. It was sickening to Golden how Applejack, the Element of Honesty, could do something like this to her. He was sure he didn't want to know what happened during Apple Bloom's "experiment".

One day, he saw something terrible. Apple Bloom was hauling a crate of apples toward the barn, when suddenly, she collapsed. Golden spied this and took action, he trotted up to the filly and stood tall.

"No breaks missy." He said, she didn't move.

"Um, hello?"

She didn't move.

"Apple Bloom?" He said with worry.

She didn't move.

Panic sprung through Golden's body as he poked her on the shoulder. She made a low groaning sound and looked up at Bullet, who was standing there. He thought she was going to try to pull some sort of trick to get him to help her, but he was wrong. Instead she stood up, and kept going. She kept shaking and was going slower than usual.

"Makin' sure she's gettin' what she deserves?" Applejack said, not startling Golden. He was more concerned about Apple Bloom, more than he should be.

"Yeah... listen Applejack, I intended for Apple Bloom to get a punishment, but she looks like she's going to die of exhaustion."

"Don't sweat it Sugarcube, she's gettin' it easy." Applejack said patting him on the back.

"Easy?!" Golden exclaimed. "This is impossible for a filly to do alone. Especially somepony like Apple Bloom! She shows spirit, but not that much." He said trying to state a fact. Applejack smirked.

"Yer awfully worried 'bout mah sister." She said raising a brow.

"Yes, I am." He said with a confused look. "Why shouldn't I be? She's doing manual labour, more than she can handle!"

"Then why don't ya help her?" Applejack said leaning in closer. Golden looked down, unsure of what to do. This was sweet, loving, daring, brave little Apple Bloom they were talking about. Innocent, willing, cute, pretty, adorable... wait what?

"Yeah, I think I would." What was he thinking? He couldn't do that, but Apple Bloom needs help. Strangely enough, he wanted to help.

He approached the young Apple, who was wobbling back and forward. She went to fall on her side, only to be caught by a set of hooves. Her muscles ached, she was out of breath, she could barely move. But she could see who it was, standing over her, was Golden Bullet.

Golden stared at Apple Bloom, mostly her eyes. Those big, cute, orange eyes. Apple Bloom felt uncomfortable, but still angry.

"What do you want?" She said looking a way. Golden felt a blush and his heart beat at the sound of her voice.

"I- I- want to..." He trailed off.

"To push me inta more work?"

"No, to help you." Apple Bloom's ears shot up. This is the same colt who got her into this mess, right?

"Help?" She muttered out.

"No, scratch that... I'll do it for you." He said with a frown. "As a 'I hope you can forgive me if I forgive you' sort of thing."

Apple Bloom stared at the young colt. So young, yet so adorable. Apple Bloom couldn't hold back a blush.

"Aww, y'all don't have ta help me."

"No, I want to do it for you. Because I-" Golden stopped.

"You... what?" Apple Bloom said, waiting for him to finish.

"Because I... sort of... like you."

Apple Bloom was stunned. What did he just say?

"What?" She said, thinking her ears were playing tricks on her.

"I said I like you Apple Bloom. Your sweet voice, your beautiful eyes, your adorable bow. I can't think of a reason any colt can't like you."

Oh... my... Celestia. He... he likes me! Apple Bloom thought.

"My my..." Was all she could manage. "Ah... Ah don't know what ta say."

"I'm sorry, I'll get to those ch-" He was cut off when he felt a moisture hit his lips. He was being kissed by Apple Bloom, and no potion was used! He eventually gave in, and closed his eyes, enjoying what he was receiving. A loud smack sounded when they broke apart.

"Maybe, when y'all are done here, I can show ya a good time? Y'know, a non-forced one?" She said with hope in her voice, while running a hoof down his chest. Golden smiled and winked.

"I'll be done in a second."
