The Cake Mistake
Fluttershy isn't forgetful. She always remembers what to do. She's responsible. Ponies trust her. Applejack knows that. Rainbow Dash knows that. Rarity knows that. Twilight knows that. Even Pinkie knows that. So, because of that, one day, Pinkie asked Fluttershy to deliver a cake to Starship City, a small city east of Ponyville.
"It's just east of Ponyville, Fluttershy! Not that far."
"B-but Pinkie, can't you j-just deliver it yourself?"
Pinkie shook her head, "I'm sorry Fluttershy. I'm too busy."
Fluttershy quietly said something to herself. Low enough so only she could hear it. (Not that she already does that....)
"What about Twilight? Or Dash? Maybe even Rarity o-or Applejack!"
Pinkie shook her head again, "Twilight is in Canterlot helping the princess, Dash got another chance to hang with the Wonderbolts, Rarity is in Fillydelphia, and Applejack is already delivering loads of apples."
Fluttershy sighed, "O-okay."
Pinkie smiled, "Yay! Thanks, Fluttershy!"
Fluttershy forced a weak smile, "No problem, Pinkie. Anything for a friend."
"Here's the address," Pinkie said as she took out a piece of paper.
"Okay. Well, I'll do it as quick as I can..."
Fluttershy decided to take the train to Starship City, not wanting to fly a couple of miles.
"I hope nothing happens to the cake." Fluttershy worriedly said.
Suddenly, the train stopped and made Fluttershy lose balance and fall.
"We have arrived at our destination!"
Fluttershy got up, rubbing her head and looked at the cake.
Please be ok, please be okay!
She opened up the cake's box to see the cake perfectly in place. No smudges, no nothing.
"Oh, yay."
Fluttershy walked out of the train into Starship City.
It. Was. Beautiful.
Fluttershy's eyes sparkled when she looked at the shining lights on billboards, stores, and even on the streets!
"Wow, I never knew it was so beautiful."
Fluttershy walked around, enjoying the view whenever she had the chance.
Now, where is that paper?
Shy grabbed the paper Pinkie had given her and opened it up.
10403 in the big, black shiny building that is called "Glimmer Shimmer Apartments" Good luck! Signed, Pinkie Pie
"Oh, if only I knew where that is..."
"..Oh, okay."
Fluttershy sighed as she flew to somepony else, still not figuring out where Glimmer Shimmer Apartments is located.
"Excuse me, miss?"
A mare turned to Fluttershy and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"I was wondering if you know where 'Glimmer Shimmer Apartments' is."
"Oh, yes! I was heading there myself."
Fluttershy gave a little smile, "Oh, uh, can I accompany you? W-Well... if you don't mind..."
The mare chuckled, "Of course you can accompany me."
Fluttershy beamed, "Yay."
On the way to Glimmer Shimmer Apartments, 'Shy and the mare were having a little chat. Finding out they have a lot in common.
"So... what's your name? You never told me." Fluttershy squeaked.
"Hm? Oh! My name is Crystal Clear."
"Oh, that's a beautiful name. Mine is Fluttershy..."
"Pardon?"
"It's Fluttershy."
"Oh! That's a lovely name."
"I'm pretty hungry..."
"Same here."
Crystal glanced at the cake strapped down on Fluttershy's back.
"Hey, maybe... we could.. you know..."
"Hm...?"
"Get some... cake."
Fluttershy hesitated, "Oh. Um, I'm not sure..."
"Pleaseeeeee?" Crystal asked, making sad eyes.
"Um..." Think, Fluttershy! Think!
"Later."
Crystal nodded, "Okay..."
30 minutes later...
"Pleaseeee! I'm SOOOOO HUNGRYYYYYY!"
"Uh... well... I'm pretty hungry..." Fluttershy started.
"Pleaseeeeeeeeee! PORFAVOR!!" Crystal pleaded.
Crystal started crying which made Fluttershy feel bad. She forgot that she had to deliver it when Crystal started crying. It's like she got hiptonized or something.
"O-ok."
Crystal immediately stopped crying and smiled, "REALLY?!"
"Really." Shy responded.
"Now?"
"Yes now."
"YAY! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!"
"Um, no problem."
What did I just do?! I completely forgot that Pinkie wanted to deliver this! OOOH! It's all my fault! What am I going to tell her?! ...I'M STILL EATING?!
Fluttershy started crying... hard.
"Fluttershy?"
"Y-yes?"
"I'm sorry... I tricked you..."
"Wh-what?" Fluttershy asked through sobs.
"I tricked you... as soon as I saw the cake, I wanted some so badly. So, when you asked me about Glimmer Shimmer apartments, I decided to let you come... and later on, I would ask for cake..."
"But why?"
"Like I said, I wanted some so badly."
Why? Why?! Why would she do that to me? Now, I gotta go to Ponyville and tell Pinkie what happened...
"I'm so, so, sorry, Fluttershy..."
"No..."
"What?"
"NO!"
Crystal sat on her haunches, scared of Flutterrage.
"I WAS TRUSTED! BY ONE OF MY BESTEST FRIENDS! I CAN'T GO BACK LIKE THIS! I DON'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH BITS TO BUY A NEW CAKE!"
"Meep...."
"That's what happened?"
"Yes, I'm sorry, Pinkie."
Pinkie sighed, "Well, good thing I made an extra."
Fluttershy raised an eyebrow, "Really?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I... um... I'm sorry, I knew somepony would do something like that to you. But, now that nopony's busy... we could all go!"
"Oh, um... yay!"
At Starship City....
"...How do I get back home?" Crystal asked herself.
Dang it, Fluttershy....
