Intro: The tale of royals and the revolt.
Years after princess Luna was banished to the moon, Twilight Sparkle was crowned co-ruler of Equestria and was destine to place the stars in the sky every night. This was not a wise choice that princess Celestia made, for the very night after the coronation, a purple cloud of mist came down from the sky and kidnapped the new princess Twilight. It took her to the moon and there Twilight realized that her kidnapper was none other than Nightmare Moon, the corrupted princess of the night. She forced the apprentice of Celestia to align the stars to help her escape. With no other choice, princess Twilight moved the stars into perfect alignment and before she knew it they were in the royal castle.
Twilight begged her to change her mind but the monster refused. As the sun rose in the sky, so did the moon. The collision was colossal and with a flash of light the moon took the sun's space in the sky. Celestia, who had heard the news already, dashed into the great hall. "Luna lower the moon, it is your duty" she commanded. But the angel of darkness simply smiled. "Luna?" She smirked," I am Nightmare moon!" Twilight could do nothing but cower on the floor behind Celestia. "And I have but one duty now," Nightmare Moon continued as she stepped closer, "To destroy YOU!" The ruthless demon charged into Celestia pushing her to the floor. "Please sister have mercy." Celestia of the sun begged. The once kind devoted sister of the sun looked at her with no empathy.
She turned and suddenly an army of black guards appeared in front of the castle. They stormed in and took everyone prisoner. One ran up the stairs into the terrible scene. "Your majesty," he said "What should I do with the princess?" The corrupted royal sat on the throne that her former ruler had once sat on. "Throw her in the dungeon," she exclaimed with blazing eyes, "She is of no more use to me." Celestia sobbed and the rest of Equestria sobbed as their beloved ruler was dragged down the black, unlit hall.
Nightmare Moon picked up a chest. Twilight gasped as she realized it was none other than the chest with the elements of harmony in. "Happiness must be taken," The mellifluous princess of the night smirked, "And I will take mine!" She slowly opened the chest and removed the elements of harmony. Suddenly, she crushed them between hooves and shards of dim color fell to the floor.
"Princess Luna," Twilight murmured to her, "Remember what you are! You are the princess of the moon!" A maniacal cackle filled the air as the new ruler leaned forward and stared into the young child's teary eyes. "I...?" she growled, "I am a nightmare!"
At first the citizens were dumbfounded at the idea of everlasting night but then they began to grow angry. Why wasn't Princess Twilight doing anything? Why weren't the six saviors doing anything? Soon anger at their new life turned into fear. And soon the fear turned into hatred and revenge. Within a year the residents of many countries in Equestria had began a revolt and had began to storm the castle, in hope that they would save themselves from the tyrant. But all in vain, for most were thrown into the dungeon and some even killed, in ways to horrid to recount...
In yet another years time the small attacks had become large massacres and soon enough a war had started. Thousands would stand in the battle field and pray for survival whilst the Warriors of the Night unsheathed their swords of black and smirked. Most brave Equestians would die in battle and some were tortured to reveal secret battle tactics, but all would suffer a terrible fate. The war raged on for generations and now the six saviors have been separated because of the war and they must find the courage to save Twilight and end the terrible rule of the night.
Loyalty on the battle field
I live in days when all is a lost cause. The start of the Equestrian wars. Is upon my town and we have nowhere to go. And a det to my country I owe. I fight for freedom for my friends and for my life. I hope to end this pointless strife.
I lift my sword high and throw it down onto the guard. Blood splatters into my face and I wipe it away. The bodies of friends and foes lay lifeless on the battle field. I sigh and shake the tears from my eyes. As I run up the stairs I hear banging from above and prepare for a fight to the death. As I dash up the stairs in a flash of many colors I hear them running after me. I remove my sword from my belt and slash it in their direction. I hear the screams of pain as they fall down the blood-stained staircase.
I wish I didn't have to do this. Causing so much pain is messing with my head. Every night I dream of a desolate battle field covered in red and as I look up I see not Nightmare Moon on the throne but me. At first I couldn't make any sense of it but soon I realized what it meant. We all have our own inner monster. Mine is a desire to win. I now know that I need to let go of desire and just do what I can to succeed and if I fail..."I can't fail! This is a war. It's win or die."
As I turn towards the top of the stairs I sigh. "I wish you all were here to help me," I murmur. Suddenly, I remember all my friends and the elements. "I need to go and get them." I remember the six saviors and dash out of the castle. Small droplets of rain transform into showers and as the downpour turns into a storm I launch into flight. The sound of lightning echos through my head as I soar into the everlasting night. I ready my sword to strike whatever monsters hide in the dark. "Maybe they can help me stop this cursed war."
