//-------------------------------------------------------// Short Stories from the Everfree -by Thatrandomsomepony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// When Spike Isn't at Your Service //-------------------------------------------------------// When Spike Isn't at Your Service When Spike Isn't at Your Service By Nick Kennedy Twilight woke up early as always. She still enjoyed reading as always, and if she wanted to read in the morning she had to do it early. Her royal duties were quite demanding. As she gathered hay to eat while reading, she noticed something she hadn't before. Spike had not welcomed her with his normal cheery attitude. Ever since his comic book pursuit, he started getting up later and later, so Twilight did something about it. As royalty, she had instant access to Canterlot's newest invention, the alarm. It was powered the same way the town's transportation was. It's sounds weird at first but it's very simple. The wheel is spun slowly by the wind until morning, when it hits a bell to wake up it's user. "It has million's of uses and possibilities!" Twilight said. Then she realized, she had nobody to talk to. Owlicious was at Fluttershy's because he was exhibiting intresting behaviors. Spike was especially excited at this news. Twilight pretended she didn't know why. Spike, well he is still considered out if habit, but I wouldn't consider him gone. Twilight thought the best idea would to be to wait for him. "He has to eat eventually." She said, once again forgetting what she had just realized. When she had long finished, and gotten much too obsessed with her book, she began to do her dishes. Then something painfully obvious hit her. Spike was still nowhere to be found. The dish hit the ground as she ran. She looked everywhere for what felt like an eternity. A knock came at the door, and she ran to it, hoping it was somehow Spike. She opened the door to find a stallion, who was confused at her worried appearance. "Princess Twilight, Celestia has been looking for you, you have not shown up to perform your royal duties, did you get any of her letters?" The stallion said. When she looked at the sky, she saw how low the sun was already. She must have gotten worried and searched all day! Regaining what little calmness she had, she said, "I will not be able to attend today, my baby dragon has gone missing. The stallion was obviously fazed, but he attempted to believe her, "I will notify Celestia". Today was Celestia's last day in Ponyville for an important meeting, which caused a stinging pain of guilt to hit her. Either way, she had to find Spike. As soon as the Stallion had departed, she began her search again. Her pursuit brought her to Sugarcube Corner. She rushed in to find the Cakes in a state of panic, Pinkie Pie was nowhere to be found. The cakes explained a strange plant seemed to attack their house last night. They also said Pinkie Pie, being her normal self, went on an "Evil Plant Investigation" as they called it. Twilight realized what dangers she might face, and took it upon herself to find her. Her schedule might have to budge, but sometimes the magic of friendship calls first. Besides, Celestia can always come another day, right? Her search continued, as she ventured to Joe's Donut shop. Most ponies in there were not common visitors, as it was still far from night. Although, she still believed that the ponies could help her. She approached casually and started a new conversation. "Did you hear anything about evil plants?" She said, remembering she was royalty, and suddenly regretting it. All the ponies looked at her, confused and annoyed. "Looks like a fancy alicorn has decided to stop by, we can give you the information you want." Said a very cunning stallion. Twilight did her best to change the subject, knowing what they might expect in return. She finally received this from the same stallion: "Ponies have been disappearing in the Everfree Forest, and the same plants from when that pathetic Discord showed up are appearing in places. She knew that the evil plant thing from last time was an accident and assumed the same here until he continued: "After he left, some ponies discovered that anger and hatred caused some of the plants to regrow. Twilight had all she needed, and left, but not before thanking the stallion. She realized, without Pinkie Pie, the town must have gotten depressed, and caused the plants to appear more often, but how long had Pinkie been gone and where could she find her? She went to where the source as the plants had been found, but not before fighting some timber wolves. Her magic barely defeated them all. Some lumber ponies will be excited here. She arrived at the heart of the Everfree to find Pinkie, searching. Twilight tried to get her attention, but she was so focused. Luckily Twilight had taken a picture of all of Ponyville smiling during one of Pinkie's parties. Pinkie turned around, with her eyes filled with red, until she focused on the picture and remembered her duties. She ran to Ponyville immediately. Twilight knew when she got there, it was as soon as all the vines disappeared. Twilight continued until she saw Spike in the distance. The vine's affect had worn off him, but he was so tired all he could say when she reached him was, "Twilight". //-------------------------------------------------------// The Wonderbolts //-------------------------------------------------------// The Wonderbolts The Wonderbolts By Nick Kennedy Rainbow Dash was alone. At least she thought she was. She was in a hotel, her friends and her had splitter the bill, as their most recent adventure had taken them far from Equestria. It was midnight. She was almost sure her friends were asleep. She ran into her personal quarters, and grabbed a box. It was orange, and contained a special lock she made herself. It was only opened by using your hoof in a sideways position, so it could fit through the hole and push a button on the inside. Her entire body was shaking, making the process tedious. Finally, the lock opened. Inside was a picture of the Wonderbolts. They were in a very triumphant position, which Rainbow Dash had especially liked. So she had taken a picture of it secretly during a performance. She ripped the picture out of the box, and could barely wait. She rubbed the picture against her cheek and could feel the smooth paper feel. Soarin's lower half gracefully rubbed her lips. Her wings shot straight up. She moaned. She felt the faces of the picture touch her skin. She set the picture back in its box and locked it.
