Many, many moons later, after Princess Twilight and her friends had vanished, a vision came to Celestia. Armies of ponies, fighting each other. All three of the pony tribes were at war. But one pegasus pony, a red stallion with a black mane and tail, flew above the others. He had a Spartan helmet with red crest and Spartan armor. Once he rose, the fighting ceased, and all pony tribes bowed to him. Then, as if by magic, Princess Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie appeared at his sides.

"Gahh!" Celestia shouted, waking from her dream. Her younger sister came flying in.

"Tia, are you okay?" Luna asked, worrying for her older sister.

"I-I had a dream." Celestia mumbled.

"A vision." Luna corrected.

"But what does it mean?" Celestia said, mostly to herself. A flash of green fire entered the room, and a scroll appeared on the sun princess's bed.

"A letter? At this time of night?" Luna asked. Her older sister opened the scroll, also perplexed.

"Dear Princess Celestia," She read aloud. "You and Princess Luna are cordially invited to the grand celebration of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Shining Armor's newborn foal. Signed, Spike." Celestia sighed. Spike had gone to live in the Crystal Empire after Twilight had gone missing. She didn't show it, but her student's disappearance had effected her greatly, and sometimes her little sister would have to raise the sun for her, as she would be unable to get out of her bed, let alone raise the sun. She had been hoping that Twilight would have been her successor, and a great ruler.

"Oh, Tia! What a grand celebration this would be! May I go?" She pleaded. Luna may have been over a thousand years old, but she acted like a little school mare sometimes. Celestia let out a chuckle.

"Yes, little sister. You may go." She said, smiling.

~A Couple of Moons Later~

Celestia awoke in the Crystal Empire, the day of the celebration of the birth of Cadence's foal. She inwardly sighed as she got out of her bed. Using her magic, she flicked on the crystal lamp to check the time. Celestia drew the curtains. Luna was setting the moon.

At least I got up this morning. Celestia begun to cast the spell to raise the sun. Almost all once, the sky became a bright pink as every single star seemed to blink out of existence. At least the day had gotten off to a good start.

"Do you wonder what Princess Cadence's foal looks like?" Luna asked her sister a while later. Cadence had requested for no one to see the foal until after the celebration started.

"I do, little sister." She agreed, only half listening. The vision she had nights earlier was still bothering her. Who was that colt? Where could he be? How could anypony find him?

"Greetings, your highnesses." Spike stood beside the door the lead outside. "Did you have a good nights sleep?"

"Yes we did, little dragon. Thank you for asking." Luna smiled. Spike puffed out his chest with pride as he opened the door for the two royal sisters. That was the happiest Celestia had seen him since the disappearance of Twilight and her friends.

"Behold, Princesses Celestia and Luna!" One of the pony guards announced as trumpets blared loudly.

"I'm so glad you could make it." Shinning Armor said as the two royal sisters reached the bottom of the stairs. "Follow me; our foal is this way." He walked through the split of ponies as they parted to let the princesses and prince through. as they passed the crystal pony subjects, they all bowed in respect.

"When I get older, I wanna be a princess!" Celestia heard a filly whisper from somewhere in the crowd. She was quickly hushed as her mother made her bow in respect to Equestria's rulers.

"Hello! Welcome to the celebration!" Cadence said as the group of three reached the end. "My foal is just over here." She gestured to a small bassinet. It was made out of glimmering crystals, though Celestia believed that there was something softer inside for the foal to sleep on.

"Here is our foal." Shining used his magic to pull away the thick screen that kept the light from glaring into the foal's eyes. It was all Celestia could do to not fall over in shock.

Inside the bassinet was a small red foal. His mane and tail were a shaggy black mess. And the foal opened his eyes to the introduction of light to his face. They revealed a bright yellow.

"What's his name?" Luna asked, smiling as the foal squeaked and smiled.

"Max." Cadence replied. "His name is Master Max."
