War Will Change: Prologue
War, war never changes...
When the fires of the great war flooded the land, leaving nothing but cinders, the vaults that held the last of humanity closed and never opened until months later. Some of the populous in Vault's 4, 67, and 12 resulted to cannibalism in order to stay alive, and were eventually shunned by the others. As for the rest of world, they made tribes. The Great Khans, The Legion of Caesar, New Californian Republic or N.C.R., The Vipers... But one man refused. He refused to apart of any tribe, to be affiliated with anything the others were doing. Vault's 4, 67, and 12 became the what's know in the Mojave as Fiends, The N.C.R. and the Legion are constantly butting heads, The Great Khans are trying to absorb all the other tribes, to become the Mojaves leading threat. But that man, "The Courier" to some, others know him by name, and some by reputation and rumors. He refused to change.
Instead, he got ahead of the game.
While Caesar and Kimball were murdering each other on Hoover Dam, he devised a group of people. Friends. Followers. Companions, and allies. He grouped them together and he started his own tribe. His rules were simple.
No conflict within the tribe, all matters went to him if there was.
There would be no contact with the Legion, N.C.R., or the Brotherhood of Steel.
The tribe had curfew, and that meant that one could only be away for so long before another went looking. If you weren't found, he would give one day before you were pronounced dead by the hands of the Mojave.
If any other tribe came to them, they were to listen first. No conflict without reason.
He also gave his tribe a name, a name that would assure no one would come and attack no matter how strong their army.
They called themselves The New Moons. But in there small hideout at the top of the highest hill in the Mojave, they found something. A crown, glowing with a light unknown to them. The Courier, having the most courage out of them all, picked up the crown, and learned something.
That today...
War would change.
Change the Dragon Born in ways he would not understand. He was not a fighting man to begin with, but after years of fighting, working, and saving Tamriel several times, he saw the fires of war.
And it disgusted him.
Nothing could compare to what he saw, and even the hottest breath that Aludin made could not compare to the fires he saw. He killed Storm-Cloak, but he also killed the Cyrodilian general that helped him too. When told he was being under arrest, he simply asked on what grounds. When he was presented with his crimes, he only laughed and stated that he had stopped not just one warmonger, but two. Both Ulfric and Tullius were tearing each other apart and left Skyrim to pick up the pieces. Afterwards, he settled down with the Grey Beards and Paarthurnax, to learn the Way of The Voice. Soon after however, he received an urgent letter from the College of Winterhold, where they have discovered a new artifact, unlike any thing they had seen, and they believed it to be even more powerful than the Eye of Magnus, dwarfing it's power but tenfold. They speculated that the Dwemer only dreamed of this power.
It was suffice to say that he was intrigued, and asked his masters, the Grey Beards, for permission to stop his teachings so he may investigate. With their approval, he went to Winterhold and found inside something that he was not expecting. A small purple crown, that hovered over a pedestal. When asked to touch it, he ran his fingers over the crown, and was blown away.
The crown opened a portal, and threw the Dragon Born into a strange world. And while he was used to being thrown into different places, this one stood out. It felt similar to home, but yet it wasn't. Trees littered the area, but that wasn't what caught his eye was the iron contraption that stood before him, that said thus:
New Vegas.
New Vegas is what the sign in front of her said.
Twilight Sparkle. Princess of Friendship. Friend of the Tamer of Chaos, and friend of Chaos himself. Or former friend anyway. It all started with Chaos himself. Discord, spirit of Chaos and Disharmony, had asked Twilight Sparkle to help him. He had told her that an ancient relic, older than himself had been found underneath the Crystal Empire, she wanted to believe he was making it up. She couldn't however, due to his pleading look and the fear in his eyes. She reluctantly went with him to the empire to see the biggest excavation she had seen. Half of the ground was torn apart to show one small, glowing purple light. As she went down farther into it however, she noticed Discord have a physical affect to it, mainly being that he was crawling rather than floating. The light called to her, though, and Discord was soon forgotten as she laid her eyes upon the purple crown.
On the way to the Empire, Discord had told her that the Crown of Galactus was a powerful relic, shaping the world in ways it saw fit. Seeing as it had such an effect on Discord, she wondered why it had no effect on her. The crown glowed more intensely as she walked closer to it, she could hear it call out her name. Discord yelled at her to stop, but it was too late and her hoof connected with crown.
She heard Discord yell in agony as the waves of the crown rippled through reality. Shocked out of her trance, she turned towards him to find him fading in and out of her sight. He spoke few words as he began to fade, and the light of the crown envolped the chamber. And to this day, they still shock her to the core.
"War will change today, and the world's shall crumble under its might."
Soon, the light ceased, and she found herself staring at the sign. The sign that read New Vegas. And she was completely unaware of the two men that were next to her, looking at the same sign.
