The Cutie Mark Crusaders–whose membership now includes Dinky Do and Tootsie Flute–inspired by Phillip Finder, decide to work on getting a detective skills cutie mark and set out in search of a mystery.

A mystery finds them, however, in the form of a stolen art sculpture in a package dropped in the schoolyard, mysterious graffiti springing up around town, and a local black market group. The CMC may just be in over their heads (again).

Fortunately, their new friend, Phillip Finder, is also on the case.
