When the Solar Empire attacked Midnight Hope, Princess Luna's student, escapes. Now known as Night Ghost and the leader of a group of freedom fighters,she's decided that the Solars have stayed in power for too long.

Prologue: Fall

The year one thousand-fifty, Empress Celestia's personality changed. And that meant bad things for the rest of us. The Solar soldiers started the attack at one nineteen am. I suppose the fall of the capitol was inevitable. As I waited in the Nightshade Forest, I kept my eyes peeled for Princess Luna, my mentor. See, I'm her protege. When I finally saw her being rushed out of the back door, I was so relived. She had a magic suppressor on her horn and her wings were bound to her body. Her hooves? Shackles. Not as bad as dead. Still, I didn't do anything to help. Some faithful student I was. The Solars were stupid. They didn't look for survivors. Once the Princess told me that I have a quiet strength. Time for the whisper to turn into a roar. I will burn them in their own ashes, unlike the phoenix there will be no rebirth for them. It may turn me into a pony I'm not proud of. I didn't care.

I was foolish.
