Bambi Hearts C2

We continue our story, as the golden rays of the sun poured through the windows of the towns bar. Pipsqueak and Braeburn sat at a table, enjoying a nice cold drink.

Yesterday after Pipsqueak enjoyed some of Braeburns mothers apple pie. The southern stallion gave the towns newest deputy his badge. Then showed him to his free home that came with the job. The place looked nice... but Pipsqueak couldn't help but wounder what happened to the last deputy.

He chose not to think about that to much.

"My word!  This badge looks just wonderful with my scarf" said Pipsqueak, looking down at his golden star badge, that seemed to sparkle in the mornings sunlight.

"Ah have to agree it dose look mighty shiny" admired Braeburn. "But doesn't that scarf get you hot? Ah mean, this is a desert".

"Nope. I never take off my scarf..." Pip rubbed the fabric. Feeling the metal object hidden within. "'It's my luckiest possession".

Braeburn nodded in understanding.

Before anymore conversation could take place, suddenly the bar doors slammed open and in rush a panting cowpony. The fellow rushed up to Braeburn.

"Star Dasher? whats the' problem. You look like ya' seen a ghost" asked Braeburn, more annoyed that his drinking time was interrupted than anything else.

The stallion used his magic and lifted Pips drink to his lips and chugged it down in one gulp. Pipsqueak didn't mind though, the poor fellow looked totally worn out.

Once Dasher caught his breath he sighed and looked at Braeburn and Pipsqueak.

"We got a problem." he said, simply.

Braeburn and Pipsqueak shared a annoyed glance.

"And that is?..." they both asked.

"The buffalo are back!" cried Dasher.

When that sentience left his mouth, everypony in the bar gasped with fear and shock. The sheriff and deputy were also worried, but they knew what had to be done. But, then a thought entered Pipsqueaks mind.

"Wait my good fellow. Are the buffalo attacking!?".

Dasher shook his head. Both he and the lawponys shared a confused expression.

"No. Their... standing their ground on the outside of town... waiting" said Dasher, just as confused.

Prince Bambi carefully watched his opponents. They were both stallions, one younger than the other, and looked like an odd team for starters. The first one looked like many of the pony devils he had seen before, but the second looked different. Like he wasn't from this area.

Both Bambi, Braeburn, and Pipsqueak stared at each other with sharp eyes. Once the two lawponies (and a few armed towns ponies) had arrived on the outside of town, they saw that there were only three buffalo and one... thing? Both stallions had never seen such a creature before, but he looked like the fighting type. So they stayed on their guard.

The deer Prince was the first to speak.

"You, devil ponies! This land belongs to the buffalo's. Leave now!" calmly demanded Bambi.

Everypony looked take aback. Braeburn was the first to recover.

"What do ya' mean! this here is our land." yelled Braeburn. "And what the' heck are ya' anyway?".

"This land rightfully belongs to the buffalo tribes. This shall be you only warning before war is declared" replied the deer, ignoring the stallions second question.

Braeburn gritted his teeth, but Pipsqueak placed a hoof on his shoulder. The city colt calmly trotted closer to the deer. The deers buffalo guards shifted nervously, but Bambi stayed strait faced.

"Excuse me sir, but there has to be another way. I mean, war will only end in blood" said Pipsqueak.

"No. The buffalo have given you pony devils more than one chance at peace. Now we war".

Pipsqueak sighed, sadly.

"May I at least asked what your name is, friend?."

"I am, Prince Bambi the second, of the LongTrot Deer tribe" Bambi smirked. "And we are NOT friends".

"Nice to meet you. I'm Pipsqueak the... brave" Pipsqueak returned the smirked and held out his hoof. "And that may be true, but I like to know the fellow that I'll be fighting, and then beating".
