Chapters Four weeks had past, and Cadence screamed
"SHINING GET IN HERE NOW!!" Shining burst in
"Honey are you alright." Cadence was smiling widely leaping around him.
"SHINING!! I'M, I'M..." She started.
"Your what?" Shining asked. Cadence stopped running off.
"WHAT?!" Shining shouted, annoyed.
Cadence ran into her bedroom. Their dreams had come true, but how could she tell him. A soft knock came, Cadence replied
"Come in." Shining came in.
"Cady, what's up? Random screaming for nothing." Cadence chuckled slightly. Stuttering as she spoke
"Well.. Erm it's just that.. Ugh...." She sighed, Shining chuckled
"I'm.... pregnant..." Cadence said slowly. Shining's eyes opened wide, with shock.
"Your... foal...."With that Shining fainted.
"Sweet Celestia!" Cadence cried out. She had never seen him faint like that, or ever seen him faint.
"Wha-." Shining sighed. He saw Cadence, and an ice pack on his forehead.
"You fainted when I told you I was pregnant." Cadence explained. His expression on his face was an "oh" one.
"Hehe, sorry sweetie." He sighed, continuation
"It's a really big thing I guess. Firstly, it was only a dream but now... It's real I guess." Cadence smiled.
"Yeah, new responsibilities, for example, breaking the news. Shining smiled
"Yeah, it should have been you fainting though."
-Later that day Canterlot-
"LUNA, DEAR SISTER JOYOUS NEWS INDEED!!" Celestia leaped around. With a sigh Luna asked.
"What is sister, you are starting to speak like me."
"Princess Cadence and Shining Armor are having a foal!" Celestia announced. Luna's eyes melted into an adorable look
"OH MY GOSH!! REALLY!" Luna giggled
"Our niece having a foal!" She giggled again.
-2 days later, Ponyville-
"GIRLS, I HAVE GREAT NEWS!!" Twilight announced.
"Ooh, ooh let me guess! We're having cupcakes with the icing shaped as RARITY!!" Pinkie Pie giggled. Everypony gave her a weird look
"Erm, no. CADENCE AND MY B.B.B.F.F ARE HAVING A FOAL!!" Twilight giggled.
"More royalty, maybe they'll ask me to make a cute little dress for the foal!" Rarity sighed happily
"I do hope it's a filly." Fluttershy said in quiet town.
"If it's a Pegasus, It'll have the best flying coach in Equestria!" Rainbow Dash said, punching her hoof to the sky.
"I'll make the 0th Birthday Party!!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
Cadence started texting to her two B.F.F's, Diamond Rose and Lemony Gems
Almost an hour later, Cadence put her phone down and sighed.
'Where is Shining Armor?' She thought to herself. Duty was probably holding him up, as always. Shining then came bursting in the room panting heavily.
"Hey honey," The tired out stallion said. Cadence smiled,
"Twilight sent you a letter saying that she would like to see you ASAP." Cadence informed him, Shining slowly nodded.
'Hmm? Why does Twily wanna see her B.B.B.F.F?' Shining thought to himself. Was it because he mysteriously disappeared (One conflict which he had solved with Cadence) or she wanted some catching up, or questions about the foal? Still it was a very confusing matter.
"How's the foal?" Shining asked, changing the subject.
"It's fine honey." Cadence replied. Life had been very hard for the couple, especially Cadence. Carrying a foal was hard enough but with the press buzzing at her door there was even more stress.
"Listen Cady, I know this is the hardest thing to do in our marriage, but I'm always there when you need me." Shining smiled warmly.
"Oh Shiny, I always know that. Besides you do need to get out me being pregnant... well it's keeping you doing chores all day. But it is worth it, you do look so damn cute when you sleep." Cadence winked. Shining chuckled, Cadence always woke up earlier than him. Shining flopped onto the bed, Cadence only giggled.
"Ever so handsome, Ever so smart, and every so corny." Cadence giggled, Shining gave her a rogue glance.
"Cady I thought we agreed you'd never say that." Shining said.
"It's not like anypony is watching us." Cadence smiled. To Shining it was a smile of pure evil, he didn't mind her calling him 'corny' but all the time, blabbing it in his ears. He couldn't manage.
-Later that night-
"Mmm, Shiny you up?" Cadence asked sleepily. Shining who was working at his desk
"Yeah, paperwork to for-fill." Shining sighed. Continuing he said
"Sorry to wake you.. Now get back to sleep." He sighed. Cadence only rolled her eyes and grumbled
"I'm your wife, I go to sleep when I want to. Even if you wake me up. This whole "Bossing ponies around." in your job is sometimes getting to your head." Shining chuckled
"Sorry." The stallion apologized.
"Don't be." Cadence smiled. Shining switched the lamp off and came to bed. Cadence put her hooves around his neck lovingly. It had been a long day, and everypony deserved a beauty sleep. With the pony of their dreams of course.
Twilight, Her friends, Princess Celestia and Luna, Shining's parents were sitting in the waiting room nervously. Shining came in...
"You can come in now." The stallion smiled.
"SHINING!!" Twilight cried out hugging her B.B.B..F.F.
"Hey Twily." He smiled.
"Is it a filly or a colt?" The eager young alicorn asked. Shining chuckled
"Well you will just have to wait and see."
Cadence, who was resting smiled as the group came in.
"Cadence!!" Twilight rushed to her Sister-in-law.
"Is it a filly peering at the little foal." Rarity only squealed at the foals cuteness.
"Omigosh!! I'M AN AUNT!" Twilight giggled having a group hug with her friends. Twilight's dad who was sighed muttered to himself
"Suddenly feeling old." He sighed, but managed to smile. Celestia, who came up to Cadence and Shining Armor asked.
"Have you thought about any names yet?" The couple nodded.
"Skyla." They both said.
"How do you think Aunt Tia?" Cadence asked, Luna stepped in saying
"It really suits one." She smiled.
Hours had past of tiring Awws. As the Cadence and Shining were by themselves.
"She really is a bundle of cuteness." Shining chuckled
"By She your referring to me or Skyla." Cadence smiled cheekily.
"Both." He smiled planting a kiss on Cadence.
"How do you think Equestria's going to react to this honey?" Cadence asked. Shining shrugged
"Aww, congratulations your majesties, Revenge?" Shining said in different accents.
"Haha, who's the last one ment to be?" Cadence asked
"Buck Withers, that stallion wanted you badly." Shining replied remembering Buck. He was a hoof-full of trouble, and not a good coltfriend.
"Hmm, I remember him... You two have made up right?" Cadence asked, Shining shrugged casually.
"Yeah, I guess so." Cadence giggled, assuming that he still hated her.
"You hate him." Cadence cooed, Shining rolled his eyes
"Let's not talk about 'Ex Coltfriend' issues." The stallion asked. Cadence nodded smiling cheekily. Cadence laid their, thinking of her old High School dates. She pondered over the subject of Buck, and why she was his Marefriend. Was it because he was well known to the school, for his good looks? His amazing sports? Still it was a clue that Cadence would like unresolved. Shining was pondering over the same subject. Why did Cadence wanted Buck?
Crying... all night, Cadence who was trying to cheer Skyla up sighed. Shining put some ear plugs in, but it wouldn't block the crying, it drilled into him. Soon enough the crying stopped, Cadence flopped down onto the bed.
"Jeesh, She's been crying since we got home." Cadence yawned
"And it's your turn." Cadence added dryly as Skyla started crying. Shining tossed over to Cadence, taking out his earplugs,
"Maybe Sky's hungry."Shining said. Cadence shook her head disappointingly
"Nope, I've done that, changed her diapers, toughest foal I've faced." Cadence sighed. Shining chuckled.
"You prefer Twily, right?" Shining asked, Cadence nodded.
"Now off you go." Cadence shooed him off. Shining managed to slump of the bed. A few hours (On what seemed to be hours, but it was only, really just minutes) after Shining came back in. Regret. Sleepy. Cadence. The three things on his mind. The one thing that did bugged was, the toughest foal?
"Y'know when you said that Skyla was the toughest foal?" Shining began, Cadence nodded. "Well..." The stallion slowly started, but shaking his head "Erm... nothing, go back to sleep honey." Shining gave a nervous grin.Cadence eyed him suspiciously, sighing
Shining grunted as he thrusted into Cadence one last time, Cadence giving a slight moan. Shining collapsed next to her panting heavily.
"Had enough?" Shining asked. Cadence looked at him seriously
"Your asking? Wow, things have changed since we thought of having foals." She giggled. Shining smiled a small smile, Cadence rested her head on his chest. She sighed it had been a long night, they had been making love for 4 hours. They did this every night.
"Hmm I could get use to this. Love making every night" Shining sighed happily.
"Yeah. It's brilliant, isn't it?" Shining nodded in agreement. Cadence yawned nodding of to sleep. Shining cuddled her in his hoofs, thinking of what will come in the future.
'Wow, nearly a whole year married ad we're making foals." Shining thought to himself.
-Morning, next day-
Cadence woke up slowly, blinking a few times to eliminate the blurriness. She found Shining holding her in his hooves.
'He sure looks damn cute sleep.' Cadence thought to herself. Trying to wiggle out, it failed miserably, in a result of waking Shining up.
"Mmm, honey, is that you?" That stallion asked.
"Yeah it is." Cadence replied softly. He leaped up getting ready for work. While putting on his armor he told Cadence
"I'll see you at breakfast at, 0900." Cadence rolled her eyes. She just sometimes HATED it when Shining spoke "military talk"
"Shine, you know I absolutely HATE you speaking like that." She eyed Shining. He gave an innocent look
"Sorry honey." He sighed.
Shining took a sigh of relief. He felt slightly guilty on leaving Cadence by herself but he needed some coffee. Night duty sure was hard especially when Cadence was carrying a foal. Trotting down a flash photographer caught him
'How the hay did he get in?' Shining thought to himself.
"Erm Sir, Armor have you seen Flash Century by any chance?" The nervous stallion asked.
"Yes he should be patrolling the northern parts of the castle today." Shining replied
"Thank you Sir." Said the Stallion, trotting off. Shining trotted to the Royal Guards staff room, to find Flash Century,
"Century shouldn't you be on duty?" Shining asked.
"Sir, it's my break time." Flash told him, confused. Shining sighed sitting down
"Sorry time must have gotten ahead of me. I'm so busy with Cadence down. I've managed to escaped leaving her with Twilight and the rest." Flash's eyes widened
"Twilights here?!" He exclaimed.
"Oh, oh I mean... Shouldn't you have some guards looking out at your room?" Flash stuttered. Shining chuckled.
"I've got that covered. I feel slightly guilty on leaving her by herself." Shining admitted.
'I shouldn't have left her.' Shining thought to himself
"Sir Armor! Princess Cadence requests upon your presence." Silver Wing came in. Shining nodded to Flash
"Well that's my que, see you later Century." Shining trotted off. Silver Wing sat where Shining was
"Poor guy, All I've been seeing is guards running for the Captain since Cadence was pregnant. It must be so tiring." Silver Wing told Flash who nodded in agreement.
"Dude, he needs a break, I've at least seen 5 ponies who went to get Shining today." Flash said
"Well I'm the one who keeps getting called, trust me, being close friends with the Princess has its perks." Silver Wing sighed.
"Life is hard." They both said in unison.
Shining burst into the room only seeing Cadence on the bed, by herself.
"Cady I'm so sorry..." Shining started, as Cadence interrupted him
"Where the hay was you! How could you leave me by myself in this condition!" She screamed at him, tears clouding her eyes.
"Cadence please, you gotta hear me." Shining said calmly.
"No, how can you be so calm about this! I'm 4 months into pregnancy and you... you just go off and leave me! I thought you loved me, cared about me Shiny..." Cadence cried. Shining came hugging her.
"Hey, of course I care and love you, 4 months ago I remember that night, I thrusted all my love into you Cady. That will never be taken away from us. I just went to get some coffee if you wanted to know." He told her softly. Cadence chuckled
"Coffee for 30 minutes?" Shining sighed.
"And talking to friends.." He sighed. He planted a kiss on Cadence.
"I'll promise I'll be there for you whenever, I'll even cut time of duty for you honey." He sighed. He had been such a lousy husband lately and all this stress for Cadence wasn't good for her.
"You don't have to that, all you need to do, is be there when I need you. Ow!" Cadence cried.
"Another kick?" Shining assumed. Cadence nodded. Shining rubbed her stomach slowly
"This should help." He said softly. Cadence looked into Shining's blue eyes. Whenever she looked into them she got lost in it's beauty, that was probably one the things that made her fall in love Shining. Cadence could name a bunch of things that made her fall in love with Shining.
"You get some rest I'll get you some lunch, okay?" Shining asked nuzzling Cadence's neck.
"Mmm hmm." She replied, enjoying what she could get. Shining trotted off closing the door softly, Cadence sighed. She took her phone and began texting.
5 painful months had passed for Cadence and Shining Armor. Cadence was in hospital, the estimated time when the foal would arrive was overdue... by 2 weeks. Cadence who was reading a book on being a good mother was missing Shining. She had been in and out of hospital from the past 2 months. A gentle knock came, Cadence lifting her head as Shining Armor came in.
"Hey honey." Shining greeted Cadence casually. Cadence smiled seeing that her husband was holding her favorite type of flowers, Roses. In her favorite colors to, Pink, Purple, and yellow.
"Your a real charmer y'know." Cadence giggled slightly looking at the roses. Shining smiled giving them to her.
"Only the best, since I can't be with you. Duty really is annoying." The stallion sighed. He only wished that he could be with Cadence every step of the journey. He had experienced being bossed around in pregnancy times. This was due with his experience with Twiley. Shining remembered his dad running around getting glasses of water, doing meals, washing and so much more.
"So..." Shining started not knowing what to say. Cadence sighed
"It's so awkward, I mean we've been gone so long. Well to me, it's only been 4 hours." The alicorn sighed.
"Hhh!!" Cadence gasped. Managing to even say something Cadence whimpered.
"Shiny... I think my waters burst.." Shining's opened.
"Stay there I will get help." With that the stallion was rushing out of the room. Seconds later a team of doctors came in. Shining had to inform everypony he knew! Well not everypony...
