The Demon Hunter and the Changeling
In a dark and stormy night in, a lone filly changeling remained curled up in the corner of a dark alley, crying as she tried to keep herself warm. She just witnessed some demons murder and eat her mother and two older brothers. She was alone now.
In another part of the street a lone stallion is walking down a dark street, leaving behind a dead demon hunter behind him, he wore a grey tank top, around his neck was a red stone necklace, a red coat on him, on his flank was a circle with a pair of wings a sword behind the wing like shield, he slowly walks past a dark alley till he heard the sound of crying, he looks into the alley to see a lone filly changeling, curled up, he slowly walks towards her, so not to scare her and asks her in a soft voice "hey there, are you alright"
She simply responded by shaking her head and trying to back up further into the wall. "A-are you...one of them?" she ask the stallion, he simple looks at her and ask "like who?" he ask stopping and making sure she's okay from a distance, so not to scare her off "One of...the things, th-that killed mommy..." she replied, unsure about the Unicorn Stallion who stood there.
He looks confuse *things?* he ask, but suddenly a shadow towards over him and bit on the filly, the marks on his flank, glow a white flash then stop, he slowly looks up, seeing the filly's eye widen, when suddenly a giant hand took a hold of the filly, getting a cry of pain from the small changeling, the stallion turn around in time to dodge a claw swipe at him, the filly was crying out in pain and she struggled.
Before the Hunter demon could do anything else, there was a glint of steel and its arm was cut in half, making it let go of the filly, in which she landed on the back of the stallion, holding a long edge sword in his magic grip "sorry pal, she's not on the menu" he said.
Looks over shoulder to the filly for a second then back at the demon "you alright kid?" he ask in a soft voice, not taking his eyes from the demon, who was holdings its cut off arm in pain, she shivered and looked at the wound on her body. She turned back to the Stallion and shook her head. "But I'll manage..." she said shakily.
The stallion nods his head "okay, well do me a small favor, hold on tight and close your eyes, can you do that?" he ask softly while pulling from his coat, using his magic pulls out two twin pistols, one Ebony like color and the other one Ivory in color, while also holding the sword in his magic grip, she did as he asked, covering her eyes with her hooves and holding tight at the same time.
He looks at the Hunter Demon and mutters "showtime" he gave a mad dash at the Hunter Demon, slashes at the demons legs underneath it, making it roar in pain, he quickly jumps to the side and shoots at its side, making it roar more in pain, the demon uses its claw launcher and shoots at them, but the stallion, uses the claw to be launch into the air with the filly, holding tightly "going up" he said going a bit higher, she shivered as the cold breeze whipped against her.
He quickly does a devastating overhead strike on its face and before, he landing to the ground he did a deadly spin that lifts him and the filly up, while delivering heavy damage and finally give's one more overhead strike, cutting of the demons head, before any blood could fall on them, the stallion burst in a cloud of light angelic smoke, dodging the blood and appearing a few feet away from the corpse with the filly "it's ok, it's over now, little one" he whisper softly, while he holster his guns and his sword vanish in a small flash, he turns so that he could block the filly's view from the corpse.
She sobbed and shivered. "It's...so cowd..." she whispers, the stallion takes off coat, leaving him in a grey tank top with a red stone necklace hanging loosely, he puts the coat on the filly and wraps her around the coat, sits down and brings her in a warm hug and starts to hum a soft tune, his mother use to sing to him.
She stopped shivering and hugged him closely, smiling as she soon fell asleep, he looks down at filly, his horn glows a light blue, hovering the filly on his back, while slowly walking out of the alley, leaving the dead demon hunter in it and slowly walks in same direction of before, he make's sure the filly stays warm and is sleeping peacefully "let's get you inside, sweetie" he whisper to the sleeping filly, walking away from the scene.
Few hours later...
She slowly awoke, her eyes fluttering, the stallion walks out the kitchen with two hot chocolate on his magic grasp and enters the room, he walks toward the filly on the bed and puts a hot chocolate next to her and then he walks to near by chair and sits there, drinking a bit of the hot chocolate while watching the filly wake up "morning sleepyhead, hope you rest well" he ask, looking at the wound he dress and clean on her.
The filly rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and smiled. "Thank you fow saving me, mistew" she said, the stallion chuckles lightly "no problem kid" uses his magic and he hovers her hot chocolate to her "so by your reaction on before, I could say that demons, kill your mother and brothers, right" he ask softly, looking at her with soft eyes.
She nodded and took a sip of the hot chocolate, he looks at her sadly "but why we're you in a alley and not with any other family member?" he ask, looking at her curiously while examining her bandage wound, knowing he needs to change it again and check it, "th-they were my o-only family left..." she said starting to tear up, curling up and crying.
Gets up from his chair and sits on the bed, grabs her and holds her close "there, there, let it out, little one, let it out" he said softly, caressing her mane gently, she cried into his shoulder, he rocks her back and forth gently "it's ok, your safe now" he whisper gently, while he holds her close.
She soon calmed down and took another sip of her hot chocolate, smile gently at her "I'll be right back, okay?" the stallion said, standing up and walks towards the bathroom. A few seconds later he come's back with a med kit on his magic grip "alright let me see, how your wound is doing and also changer does bandages" he asks with a kind smile while sitting on the bed, next to her.
She simply laid there and allowed him to check, he slowly takes off her bandages with his magic, once the bandages we're off he could see a permanent scar, but all in all, it heal up nicely, he pulls out from the kit a special ointment remedy he learn in his travels and apply a bit on the healing wound to make the process better, he then pulls out a roll of fresh bandages and wraps it around "so, those this little cute filly has a name?" he ask, she nodded and said. "Liana."
"Liana, what a beautiful name you got" he said finishing bandaging her up "there all done" he levitated all the supplies into the kit and returns to the bathroom to put it back in its place "wh-what's yours?" she asked, the stallion come's back from the bathroom, a towel drape over his shoulder "well you can call me Dante" he reply with a grin and walks to the chair, levitated his cup of hot chocolate to drink so more "so after seeing you in the alley and what happen to you, I would like to make you an offer, it's your choice to accept it or not, wanna hear it" he ask.
She smiles and asks. "What's the offew?", Dante looks at her in the eye "well it's two offers, first one his that I can take you to the nearest Orphanage, where you'll have a roof over your head, food and a chance to get adopted" he said waiting for her react to the first offer.
"No." she said and then asks. "What's the second one?", he gives a slight smirk "well the second one is the same, except I adopt you" he said looking at her, for a react "so what do you say, want me to be your new family and daddy?" he asks with a soft smile.
Liana was shock and wide eyed, she couldn't believe it, she could feel new tears coming out of her eyes, but were of joy, she jump from the bed and tackle hug Dante "YES, YES, YES!!!!" she scream in joy, Dante just gave her a warm smile, caressing her mane comfortably "then welcome to your new family" was all he said, holding the crying filly.
