Theater in Ponyville. It was a place, where Octavia was the main attraction. She was playing here symphonies wrote by herself.
"Octavia! You have five minutes!" yelled pony. Another concert, another magic moment with music. Octavia loved this work.
"Good luck Octavia," smiled Vinyl, "but I know you don't need it."
Octavia smiled too and stepped onto the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen," boomed the voice of the announcer, "I present to you... Octavia with her song 'Music of Silence'".
This is it. Octavia stood, the center of the scene. She looked out over the crowd. Everypony was so excited and watched her every move. They loved Octavia's songs as much as she loved them herself.
Music was her life. She waited as the quiet sounds of a piano drifted across the stage. She let it build before putting her bow to the strings. Music flowed from the cello as she caressed its strings. She could feel it vibrate. It was such a pleasure.
Octavia closed her eyes. Notes was flying in the air just like small butterflies over a field with colorfull flowers. She could feel a light breeze at her back. Yes, this was her music.. This was her paradise. She never thought about notes when she played. Melody was flowing from her heart and combined with piano song. Music became louder and louder. Those emotions. Just like violin is a part of her own soul. What she felt, she was overflowing into this instrument.
Wind was stronger and dark clouds covered sky. Thunder and lighting was sharpening dark cupola. Butterflies have gone. Rain was hitting on the ground and wind tried to stop music. He failed. Octavia kept playing. Suddenly... silence. Low, calm song hovered in the air. Nice and slow. Storm has gone, but everything was still in cover. This quiet... harmony. Again... light wind was moving grass. Octavia heard, steady hum, and green mass was heaved like waves on the sea after the storm. She finished.
Everypony was shocked. After few seconds, crowd started clapping.
"Amazing as always! Thank you Octavia," said pony with microphone and Octavia came down from scene.

Yes... It was two years ago. Now Octavia has problem. Something happened to her ears and she can't hear some tones. She started falsifying notes. Rumor spread out in few days and soon nobody wanted Octavia's song. Now she was sitting at home and looking at her violin. She continued playing, but it wasn't the same. Her imagination was breaking when she played wrong note, but she still tried, so she stopped playing. Her world has been ruined. Now this pretty violin stays in front of her. Thick layer of dust covered wood, which was shining in the past.

"I'm so sorry, but she is going deaf," said doctor to Vinyl. It was crushing news, It was just like someone snatched Octavia's heart and threw it away. Her world was ruined. Doctor came out of the room.
Vinyl came to Octavia.
"Don't worry. Everything will be fine," said DJ pony with sadness in her voice.
"What?" asked grey pony. She didn't hear it.
Vinyl took paper and pencil and write what did she say.
"No. Nothing will be alright. I am deaf like an old mare and I don't know why," whispered Octavia.
"Doctor said, you are going to deaf, beacuse my of music. Your ears weren't prepared for this kind of music." write DJ unicorn.
"Is there a way to save my hearing?" asked Octavia with tears in eyes.
"Yes, but...," Vinyl couldn't write this sentence. She took a deep breathe. Octavia put hoof on her hoof, and looked at her with a smile. "You'd have to leave me," said unicorn with shaking voice.
Octavia heard it.
"I won't leave you. I can lost my hearing, but I can't lost my only friend," she said and hugged her white unicorn.

Two years after. Octavia lost her hearing, and she was totally deaf. She could read lips, but not so good. Her world was ruined, but... she still has the best friend. The only one.
"You don't have to do it," Vinyl was saying it very often. She didn't want, that her friend lost her hearing because she can make only loud music.
"Yes. I must. It isn't your fault," Octavia answered, when she still heard. Now she was sitting on a chair and looking at her violin. It was old and dusty instrument. Octavia didn't touch him for a long time. She didn't have enough courage. Maybe she still can play as well as in the past?
Octavia got up and took her violin. Everything was good. She sat down back on her chair and put hoof on stringes. Yes. She remember this concert. The last concert in her life. Those thiny threads... this hard wood and weight. Everything was familiar. Octavia closed her eyes and started playing. She didn't hear song but she could feel it. She stepped back memories of the day, when she was on a scene. She remembered this field with colorfull flowers and beautiful butterflies. She remembered storm with thunder and lighting. She was over there... again in her paradise. Her soul once again combined with instrument. Again she was complied.
Vinyl was indoors and she was looking at her friend, but she didn't say anything because there was no reason. She was indoors and listening Octavia's song. She remembered it. This is the song, which her friend played on her last concert. Octavia played this song perfectly... as then. Grey pony played whole day and whole night. Her hoof moved after the instrument slowly and majestatically. Her second hoof was calmly moving toward and back. It wasn't simple song. It was Melody Of Silence.
