Luna, after her almost nightmarish return to Equestria is very slowly taking in the world around her. While still a princess, she has no duties other than raising and lowering the moon until she is deemed fit for service; a process many claim will take years, so Luna is given small tasks here and there to speed the process up.

With no objections, the young alicorn takes her little slice of responsibilities seriously. While in the public eye, Luna is still seen with suspicion but given the befit of the doubt; behind her closed doors, she still battles against the demons...or demon of her past.

Most of this story is a rework of my now cancelled story The Future is Ours: Salvation of a moon. I'm going back and rewriting the story, which will broken into two parts. Once upon a nightmare will be the first.
